^^^ same

Steamtable Willie (WmC), Saturday, 7 January 2012 18:06 (thirteen years ago)

my bets for Saturday:

Texans -4 (hated giving 4 points here, but I feel like the Bengals are going to struggle to score much at all in this game)

Lions/Saints total points under 60.5 (obviously this is going to be very high scoring but 60.5 seems like such a ridiculous total)

frogbs, Saturday, 7 January 2012 18:15 (thirteen years ago)

lol otm someone needs to put this dude out to pasture already

no, sportscenter, steelers did not do the wrong thing by not letting SUISHAM try a 60+ yard field goal, he had no chance

entertainment-wise they did the wrong thing

iatee, Monday, 9 January 2012 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

@AdamSchefter
RT @j****: tim tebow's favorite bible verse is John 3:16. he threw for 316 yards today. Coincidence?

earlnash, Monday, 9 January 2012 02:52 (thirteen years ago)

lol steelers
that game was fucking rigged for them too and they still couldn't beat the team that put up 3 at home on the Kansas City Chiefs

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 02:53 (thirteen years ago)

Starting RB out
Starting Safety out
Qb hobbled
Center and a couple linebackers banged up

Really the Steelers were setup to get beat, it's just the story around the sucky QB that makes it more suprising.

This run of the Broncos does oddly remind me a bit of Orton's rookie year with the Bears. Orton played pretty well for a while and the Bears did OK and down the strech he was just freaking horrible. They went ahead and replaced them by Sexy Rexy.

lol so much @ ben fedoraberger

johnny crunch, Monday, 9 January 2012 03:03 (thirteen years ago)

well losing Mendenhall didn't seem to hurt them much, and I agree that the Steelers were probably going to get exposed at some point but I can't think of any playoff team that looked worse going in than the Broncos did (maybe last years Seahawks?)

actually I'm pretty impressed with Tebow this time. he's still missing open recievers but also threw some really great passes, dunno if he's been working really hard at these throws or if its a "every blind squirrel finds a nut" thing but at some points in this game he looked like a real quarterback

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 03:08 (thirteen years ago)

hah that whole game was amazing.

call all destroyer, Monday, 9 January 2012 03:10 (thirteen years ago)

i watched the end in a cigar bar where this guy was screaming "there is no god!" or "there is a god!" after every key play

call all destroyer, Monday, 9 January 2012 03:11 (thirteen years ago)

one of the steelers radio guys said he'd never seen a qb throw as many passes in warmups as tebow did

mookieproof, Monday, 9 January 2012 03:16 (thirteen years ago)

tebow also had 31.6 yards per completion

so someone was just messing w/pittsburgh with those media reports that quinn was taking half the reps on offense and the game plan didn't include much passing

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 9 January 2012 03:32 (thirteen years ago)

ben wears that hat even better than jack abramoff did. well played roffles

just woke up to the radio playing the OT TD call, feels great to wake up with a smile :)

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 13:17 (thirteen years ago)

deadspin's article on this is pretty good:

By treating Tebow as if he were the worst thrower in NFL history, the Steelers turned him into an NFL playoff winner.

http://deadspin.com/5874203/why-the-steelers-lost-to-tim-tebow

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 14:13 (thirteen years ago)

So far this season, Tim Tebow has been bad, then good, then bad again, then kind of OK for a while, then amazingly, atrociously bad. In Sunday's playoff game against the Steelers, the Denver quarterback/future eight-term U.S. president entered a bizarre quantum state in which he was both great and terrible at the same time.

lol

lag∞n, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:01 (thirteen years ago)

it's so true. and it was all enabled by pittsburgh's dumbass game plan.

call all destroyer, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:09 (thirteen years ago)

what I love the most is Denver's final play - they ran on first down 20/20 times, sending the left side reciever in motion, then on the final play of OT, tossed a simple slant - only the safeties were so trained to try to blow up the play at the line on each first down that the slant became a touchdown

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:22 (thirteen years ago)

yeah it was a great play call and a real bad time to be playing cover 0

call all destroyer, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:33 (thirteen years ago)

What does TJ Yates have to do to get some press. :/

polyphonic, Monday, 9 January 2012 21:16 (thirteen years ago)

beat tebow.

btw, i wanna go on record here: if tebow wins a ring this year, I am becoming a christian

Thug Luftwaffle (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 January 2012 21:26 (thirteen years ago)

the Texans obviously are happy with Yates, but it's not like he's Tommy Brady coming out of nowhere to dominate

the Texans have been rather underrated - their defense and run game are both top 5, they don't really need a top flight QB, just someone who won't destroy the team from the inside out like, say, whoever the Bears run out after Cutler

frogbs, Monday, 9 January 2012 21:27 (thirteen years ago)

psh. if tebow wins a ring this year it will immediately inaugurate the rapture and at that point it will be too late to become a christian but we can chill on earth reading comics, playing video games, and surviving the onslaught of satan's army xp

Mordy, Monday, 9 January 2012 21:30 (thirteen years ago)

If the Broncos win the Superbowl this year I *will* set something on fire.
