Oakland Raiders @ Atlanta Falcons- Falcons should win and it's a big upset if they don't.
Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles- I'm taking the Eagles as it is the Lions on the road, but Philly is a flawed mediocre club.
St. Louis Rams @ Miami Dolphins- This is probably a pretty good and even matchup. I guess Dolphins as they have shown a more complete game as the Rams offense isn't that hot.
Dallas Cowboys @ Baltimore Ravens- Boy this is a battle of clubs that play dumb and have serious flaws. I'll go Ravens at home but it can go either way. Ravens D seems to be really missing Suggs.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Bucs- Good lord, who knows or even more outside of Tampa or KC, who cares? I guess Bucs at home.
Indianapolis Colts @ New York Jets- I guess Colts, but I would believe in a let down an the Jets winning a fugly one. Colts have some serious issues on their o-line, as it is battered. Colts schedule is quite favorable over the rest of the season (Jets, Browns, Titans, Dolphins, Jags, Pats, Bills, Lions, Titans, Houston, KC, Houston) and it will be interesting to see how many wins they have in the end.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns- These games go either way, sometimes they are no scoring affairs when you expect fireworks some the other way. I guess Browns in a squeaker, it's just too hard to sweep in this series. Cincy let me down last week.
Buffalo Bills @ Arizona Cardinals- Cardz but I would believe them getting upset.
New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks- Pats as I think they get up a couple scores, Seattle can't come back.
New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers- Got to go Niners, as they seem more complete, but an interesting matchup.
Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins- Wow am I taking the Vikings on the road? I guess I am.
Green Bay Packers @ Houston Texans- Not quite must win, but Green Bay needs to get one. I'm going Texans as the Colts ran the ball quite well on Green Bay in their comeback and Houston has a real running game. It's also a statement game for Houston, they won't take it lightly.
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers- I don't think either club is that great, but I will go Broncos by a couple points.

I think at this point you can say it's totally wide open to who is going to win it all. Pretty much outside Atlanta being the last undefeated club standing, although nearly losing to some lesser clubs, all of the good clubs have gotten tagged by someone else pretty good.

how early can you definitively call a team "out of the playoffs"? Does anyone ever recover from 1-5 historically?

Probable locks to win division-

Falcons
Texans

Both of those guys going 6-0 and 5-1 to start are already 3+ games up on the rest of the division.

AFC East- everyone is 3-3. Got to think the Pats will still end up winning that one, but the Dolphins look pretty solid across the board.

AFC North- B-more and Pittsburgh are both shadows of former years. One of them will probably win the division, but I don't see them making that many moves beyond a playoff appearance.

AFC West- You knew going in that it was pretty wide open. Denver's defense can't get teams off the field being the surprise.

NFC East- Giants up a game and seem to be more talented but injury prone. Eagles and Cowboys can win a game but have serious flaws. Washington seems to be on the upswing, but consistency and keeping RJIII healty will probably be their keys if playoff shot comes up.

NFC North- Bears defense looks real, but they got usual problems on offense. If Rogers can only throw for 500 yards and 6 TDs a game they are freaking great, but their defense is already looking raggedy again and they still can't run the ball. Detroit seems improved over past couple weeks, but they have games where they give up a zillion points. Minnesota won a couple games but they could go 6-10 at this point and I wouldn't be surprised. I'd buy Bears winning the division with Green Bay getting the wildcard here.

NFC West- Hard to argue with the records, but they are some odd teams. Niners fliping in and out the QB definitely looked like the beginning of some type of QB psychosis starting (and Harbaugh probably has those internal scars from Ditka doing the same thing to him). That defense is pretty loaded. Rams defense is definitely improved, offense seems to be missing parts. Cardz success seems kind of fluky as you just can't count on their Qbs in the end. Seattle is a mad scientist lab that seems to be working, although it shouldn't. I'd buy Niners winning division and Seattle maybe ending up a wild card team.

AFC I don't know...I wouldn't be surprised home field is gotten with an 11-5 and you end up with a couple 9-7 and a 8-8 in the playoffs.

I wouldn't go so far to say the NFC is the stuff, I think the better teams are better but the dregs are worse in the NFC too. The AFC is just mostly a big azz huddled mass of aging teams and others trying to figure it out.

AFC does have the worse dregs though...
