Weak Ass 6-8 last week, for the year a dull 49-42. There really isn't anyone that's great this season as all of the teams sans ATL have gotten beat by someone and some of those losses are pretty stinky (I'm looking at you this week Houston).

Seattle @ San Francisco- I'm gonna go Niners, but they definitely looked off on offense last week. Seattle proved me wrong coming back on NE, but the Niners defense is way more than the Pats has been in years.
Baltimore @ Houston- Bmore is a shell at this point. Never know, some were saying a week before Lewis got hurt he was being exploited in the run game in one thing I saw. Don't watch them, so I don't know. Houston should bounce back and win this one, but anytime someone drops that much offense, you look stupid. Good news is that Joe Flacco is not Aaron Rogers. Go Houston.
Green Bay @ St. Louis- I got to Packers, but the Rams defense might keep it close for a while.
New Orleans @ Tampa Bay- This might be a decent game. I'm going to go Saints, but I would believe it being close.
Dallas @ Carolina- I'm going to take Dallas on this one in a shootout coming off the bye.
Arizona @ Minnesota- Will the real team please stand up? I guess Vikings, but I have no idea.
Tennessee @ Buffalo- Will the real team please stand up II? Bills can score big, but man their defense gives up points by the bucket load. I'm going Titans as they got Hasselbeck in there and Johnson seems to be running again.
Washington @ NY Giants- I guess Giants, as they looked good last week, but I figure its close.
Cleveland @ Indianapolis- Indy let me down last week, but I did call Cleveland's win. Gimmy Indy in a close game, but that's because I'm kind of a homer.
Jacksonville @ Oakland- Who the heck wants to watch this game? I guess Raiders.
NY Jets @ New England- Pats should win.
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati- Cincy laying eggs around is kind of sad, as the Steelers and Ravens are weak sauce this year. Bengals need the win and I'll take 'em but it's more on hope than anything, as they just have problems historically with Pittsburgh.
Detroit @ Chicago- I'm going Bears but I figure this is a game.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tebow-could-step-rb-short-165804596--nfl.html

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- Tim Tebow might add a new job title to an already-lengthy list.

The do-it-all backup quarterback could see time at running back in the New York Jets' banged-up backfield Sunday against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

''That's a possibility,'' coach Rex Ryan said Thursday. ''The thing about Tim - with him being a football player like we've always talked about - by playing quarterback, he knows all the positions. So, can you plug him in at running back? Can you plug him in at tight end or whatever?

''I think the answer is yes.''

The Jets are a bit short-handed at the position with backups Joe McKnight (sprained left ankle) and Bilal Powell (separated right shoulder) likely out for the game - although McKnight insisted, ''It's for first place, I'm in there.'' That leaves only starter Shonn Greene and rookie Jonathan Grimes, who has yet to play, as the team's only completely healthy running backs. Lex Hilliard is the remaining fullback after the Jets waived John Conner on Wednesday.

Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano echoed Ryan's comments on Tebow, and was just as vague.

''There's a possibility,'' he said. ''There's a possibility for a lot of things. We'll see.''

But could Tebow actually make a good running back?

''I think Tim Tebow could be good at whatever he wants to be good at,'' Sparano said.

uh tony...

let's have sex and then throw pottery (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 23 October 2012 03:35 (thirteen years ago)

their defense is just average and i think offenses have figured out how to stop an offense that can only move the ball by throwing it to one receiver

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 23 October 2012 03:45 (thirteen years ago)

wtf happened to them in the off season exactly? They were a trendy pick to go deep in the playoffs.

they benefitted from more than a few 4th quarter collapses and really have just the one offensive weapon. imo they were really like an 8-8 team that got some lucky breaks. this year, Stafford looks noticeably worse, outside of the 4th quarter obv

frogbs, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 04:07 (thirteen years ago)

Haven't looked at Lions, but being as bad as they were, they might looked a bit better from strength of schedule last year. They made the playoffs this year, so I am sure the schedule is a notch better. Y

You also got to remember when they went 6-0 was after all teams started with about no training camp, the offensive stats were totally wacko during that time too. Teams defenses got better and are better somewhat this year and I think people go their book. They really can't run the ball, so you double team Johnson, rush the passer and say to Stafford to beat you with their other dudes.

Never know, you might look back at Stafford throwing for 5k yards like people do looking at Scott Mitchell for 4k yards. It happened, but the dude wasn't Tom Brady.

earlnash, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 21:28 (thirteen years ago)

Their defense also gives up a ton of points and Suh has turned out to not be the second coming of Reggie White like some thought he might be after his rookie season.

earlnash, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 21:29 (thirteen years ago)

Considering that plus the fact that the Lions A) do not really have a running game and B) seemed to always be down by 10+ points, Stafford's 5k isn't really all that impressive. Brees has a shot at 5k this year too under similar circumstances.

To be honest I'm not sure I really believe this "team of the future" narrative for Detroit; they seem to be more than just a few pieces away and the more I watch them the more I realize that Stafford to Megatron is really all they have right now. In my opinion it's more likely that they peaked last year!

frogbs, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 21:36 (thirteen years ago)

the Lions are fucked....at 2-5...the Packers are 4-3, Vikings and Bears at 5-2

not saying they won't win more games, but the math really sucks when you're chasing not one but THREE teams...

basically you're banking on the hope that you play near perfect ball from here on out and three separate teams have meltdowns

terrell sug (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 23 October 2012 21:36 (thirteen years ago)

Lions are 2-4. Bears are 5-1. Anyway both the Bears and the Pack are likely to finish around 10-11 wins right now (who knows about the Vikings, really), which means the Lions can afford to drop one more game, maybe two tops. Both their wins were 4th quarter comebacks; certainly that's something they had in 2011, but they haven't had a blowout victory yet (something the 2011 team was capable of). The Titans game could have been, but they gave up FIVE scoring plays of 60+ yards and lost. Safe to say a wildcard is their only hope but the field may be too crowded even for that, given how the NFC West has been lately.

frogbs, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)

You think the Bears are going to finish 5-5 or 6-4? I'd say 12 wins minimum, no surprise if they win 13-14. This is an all time great defense, up there with the Bucs or Ravens from 10 years ago. They'll win it all if Cutler doesn't screw up.

Plasmon, Tuesday, 23 October 2012 23:23 (thirteen years ago)

they'll be tested when they play Houston then go on the road to San Fran. 6-4 is entirely likely though I would agree now that I'm seeing their schedule, I had thought their game vs. Seattle was on the road. That said their victory over Detroit wasn't as commanding as it should have been; their offense went completely dead. The "if Cutler doesn't screw up" bit is what would worry me if I were a Bear fan. Not that he'll punt a game (I still believe he's a top 10 QB) but that he'll get hurt behind that weak OL he's got, again.

Packers are going to be interesting too. Their only real tough games left are @CHI and @NYG (I suppose @DET could be tough too). Their five home games all seem very winnable. I would imagine they could end up 11-5 as well. Realistically it seems as though the replacement refs may have cost them a shot at the division title.

frogbs, Wednesday, 24 October 2012 00:21 (thirteen years ago)

The Bears defense didn't look that great vs. Detroit. Urlacher's washed up.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 24 October 2012 00:36 (thirteen years ago)

yeah urlacher prob shouldn't be playing... if they can stay healthy they're gonna get a bye tho

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 24 October 2012 00:37 (thirteen years ago)

i don't think it's an all-time defense... it's hard to keep up that rate of turnovers. but def one of the best two or three in the NFL and their offense is seriously upgraded from the last few years

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 24 October 2012 00:38 (thirteen years ago)
