jets are gonna score 27 points and win tomorrow and sanchez will be as if reborn and jets fans will be delighted and talking about the playoffs, and then there will be mass befuddlement and uncomprehending goatees when the jets get shut out in their next game as sanchez goes 4/37.

I don't really understand why that Forsett TD couldn't be reviewed.
― Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:06 (twelve years ago)
I mean by the officials
because jim schwartz is a bad coach
― johnny crunch, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:08 (twelve years ago)
I realized today that I kinda hate Schwartz. He is always mugging for the camera.
― Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:13 (twelve years ago)
because of the challenge rules, if you throw a challenge flag on an automatic review like a TD or turnover, not only is it a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty (which it doesn't look like they enforced), but the play doesn't get reviewed. Schwartz of course knew right away what happened and yes he should have known better but it doesn't stop this from basically being the dumbest and most inexplicable rule in pro sports
― frogbs, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:14 (twelve years ago)
texans dfense sux huh
― johnny crunch, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:14 (twelve years ago)
now I'm wondering if a coach can throw a flag on his own team scoring if he thinks the review will overturn it and just take the 15 yards later. this rule is seriously absurd.
― frogbs, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:16 (twelve years ago)
Woah that is dumb. Even the 15y is dumb but denying the review is insane. No one wants plays like that to stand. That decision was made right before happy hour.
― Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:17 (twelve years ago)
Schwartz needs to know the rule. I know the fucking rule and it's not my job
― One Way Ticket on the 1277 Express (Bill Magill), Thursday, 22 November 2012 20:31 (twelve years ago)

“I think it might have been a miscue,” said Moore, deadpan, who grew defensive with reporters when asked about his role — or rather, that of his buttocks, which now rank fourth on the team in forced fumbles — in the mishap: “Why do I need to talk about that?”

Would appreciate that being the title of the week 13 thread thx
that other nyt jets pats article was gold too
And then a blooper reel exploded on the MetLife Stadium turf. It might have been the most horrific 12 minutes in Jets history. It was cover-your-children’s-eyes bad. If a newcomer to football had tuned into Thursday’s game in the second quarter, he might have turned it off — but not before someone more worldly told him that those 12 minutes summed up life as a Jets fan.

yeah they've had problems vs. veteran QBs the last few years. I think this defense has improved greatly since last year but Clay, Chuck and Shields were three of their top five defensive players (Tramon and Raji are the other two, though Hayward is definitely up there now) and without them they're certainly liable to just be torn apart like this. and then on the other side it's the opposite, Rodgers isn't getting a clean pocket ever and he just isn't seeing his open guys. at least it's only one in the loss column :/
― frogbs, Monday, 26 November 2012 04:23 (twelve years ago)
