Excuse me while I just paste the SEC-relevant portion of the article.

"Alabama will open the 2013 season in the USA Today coaches poll where it finished its 2012 campaign.

At the top.

Alabama received 58 of a possible 62 votes to land the top spot in the preseason coaches poll, marking the third time in program history it's been ranked No. 1 to start the year.

Ohio State, which received three first-place votes, is No. 2, Oregon is No. 3, Stanford is No. 4 and Georgia is fifth. Texas A&M, which received one first-place vote, is No. 6.

The SEC has five of the coaches' top 10 teams, as South Carolina ranks seventh and Florida is No. 10."

have all you guys who love to clown on lane kiffin been following USC this offseason? if kiffin goes, he's going to go in the most kiffiny way possible, i guarantee you that.

eh mec, elle est ou ma caisse? (ytth), Thursday, 29 August 2013 03:10 (eleven years ago)

I want Kiffen to stay at USC for at least a decade, whittling away at USC's national credibility and undermining its winning tradition, until it is just a has been program living on its memories.

had to watch that like 20 times to figure out how they did that. i guess 22 took the snap, pretended to hike (?!) the ball to another dude, who then pretended to and the imaginary ball to another dude...all the while 22 just broke the other direction

22 comes THIS close to getting tackled in the backfield too

J0rdan S., Sunday, 1 September 2013 01:19 (eleven years ago)

But let's be clear, I am totally on board with an Alabama dominant narrative if it shut downs the SEC dominant narrative

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/os-mike-bianchi-gators-hurricanes-final-game-0906-20130905,0,2667050.column

With the SEC likely moving to a nine-game conference schedule and the Gators already committed to playing Florida State, this leaves UF with only two remaining games. The Gators want those two games to be played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, where a UF official says they net about $2.5 million per game.

"People don't want to hear this, but it's the fact of the matter," UF Athletic Director Jeremy Foley told the Associated Press earlier this week. "When you take a home game out of here, it cost you significant dollars. ... You can't do that every other year and try to run a sports program at the level we're trying to run it. I think everybody thinks that's not a big deal. Well, it is a big deal."

How about ending the stupid tradition of playing UGA in Jacksonville?

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 September 2013 21:52 (eleven years ago)

As my fb friend pointed out, UF hasn't played an out-of-state non-conference game since 1991.

22 YEARS!

it would have been interesting if they actually scored there.

Bee OK, Saturday, 7 September 2013 23:32 (eleven years ago)

To stay with Oregon you need a super-quick athletic defense and your offense needs to stay on the field a long time, grinding out long scoring drives that end in TDs. Unfortunately for the Ducks, this sounds a lot like Alabama.

Aimless, Saturday, 7 September 2013 23:38 (eleven years ago)

the way Stanford played them last year is the way to beat Oregon as well. that being said they are my adapted team this year.

Bee OK, Sunday, 8 September 2013 00:34 (eleven years ago)

Brian Kelly is just one of those coaches that's easy to hate, and Brady Hoke is one that's easy to love, so Go Blue.

The qb wearing #98 is messing with my brains, though.

mookieproof, Tuesday, 7 January 2014 05:25 (eleven years ago)

I'm sad. Not as sad as I'd be if Alabama had played FSU and lost, but still sad. I like Jimbo, though, and winning the title capped off an undefeated season, so good for him.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 7 January 2014 05:37 (eleven years ago)

that was a pretty cool football game, it had a lot of different moods

lag∞n, Tuesday, 7 January 2014 05:52 (eleven years ago)

some reading for the offseason - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Football_Playoff

Among the factors that the committee will weigh are strength of schedule, conference championships, team records, and head-to-head results,[7] plus other considerations such as injuries and weather.[22]

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 7 January 2014 18:14 (eleven years ago)

"Blake Bortles"

I've never seen him play but I am confident he'll be drafted by the Browns.

polyphonic, Thursday, 16 January 2014 21:34 (eleven years ago)

I think there's a chance Johnny Football either falls to Clevo or they move up to get him and then Bortles goes to the Vikes. Bridgewater is a wild card.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 16 January 2014 21:38 (eleven years ago)
