yes to this the odd time, usually if i click on a link to a thread
also the odd time after submitting a post im asked to log in again, and the login field is filled with garbage

my phone won't stay logged in this week, don't know if it's my phone or the site - keep seeing ads on the phone even when it should be logged in

This happened to me while using Chrome on my tablet, and apparently to some others too. More discussion here:

I've since switched to a version of Crome with a built-in adblocker, and the ads are gone, but obviously they shouldn't have been there to begin with.

Yep, this is definitely a bug, to do with how the site tracks you are logged in. It's on the list -- signed-in users shouldn't see ads.

this happens to me if someone links to a thread and I click on the link. I will be logged in and see no ads in one tab, and then in the linked tab, there will be ads.

Never on desktop. Literally every other thread I click on iOS.
