Can I request these features? I'm sure they're non-trivial, and it wouldn't be the end of the world if they were impossible for some reason, but I do think they would be cool:
- a preference to auto-bookmark a thread when you post in it (perhaps with a tickbox to override your preference setting each time you post).
- a way to preview your posts before they get submitted.

There's no big problem with post preview, but given the amount of work I have on right now, I'm going to have to suggest that you preview your post by just looking at it before clicking "Submit Response"! Sorry...
When I wrote bookmarks, I thought about your suggestion, but the trouble is that it would vastly increase the amount of database updates (and hence locking out reads - MyISAM locks entire tables at a time, which needs careful consideration; it would be less of an issue if it locked pages or records). I know it would be handy, and I appreciate it's another click, but we have limited resources, so it's best not done whilst we have no obvious route to getting more servers (and indeed no software that would actually take advantage of running on multiple servers).

It's weird that I'll have a thread bookmarked, someone posts a new thing, then I post a reply, but the two-posts-ago one is still bookmarked - it should in theory just move the bookmark to my own post, since obviously I've read the previous stuff if I'm posting. Perhaps this could be a checkbox option in profile prefs?

Post preview would still be nice, the main reason for me is just because it's really hard to proofread things like url bbcode.

The only negative to futzing with HTML Playground is that it appears in SNA, and I'm pretty sure there are lots of people who like to click on any SNA thread (including me). Hence, it would probably make sense to delist HTML Playground from SNA for everyone.

It seems like overkill to hop over to another board to test my html links, doesn't it? I mean every other modern board software has preview post, it doesn't seem like a crazy feature to implement.
