Will Sandbox threads get moved to ILX2? Will they?

Wasnt it kind of fun having a secret little ILX-away-from-ILX?

How much money would have to get raised to buy a server large enough to host the sandbox on? (Identical to the past sandbox, but hosted on a computer NOT paid for by stet and grimly)???????

Well, the sandbox computer was pretty cheap -- but the old code really isn't up to it, honestly. That's why we're on new code! It had been poxy-fuleing for a bit recently, because the load spiked when a load of spammers found it.

Then when we took this place down, a load of ilxors went back to it, and the database got corrupted (the old code doesn't do things to stop it corrupting under load), then died.

I've repaired it (I think), and Keith's going to import it to the 8090 sandbox here. So you'll see its threads again, but that old code is waay too much of a liability.

so... old sandbox threads will live on, with new code, on the 8090 port?

in the event of a, (god forbid), crash/poxyfule of ILX2, will 8090 be available as a gathering place like the sandbox was? (i understand that the whole idea is that there wont be any more crashes).

how hard would it be to set up sandbox2, with new code, on a new server paid for by ILX user donations?

these are just questions, not demands.

Pretty easy, but I don't think you'd get many takers to pay for it -- firstly it'd be a waste of cash, and secondly I think the majority of folk who want to keep the sandbox just hate the new code, or they think the new code is GREAT omg, but miss the old code's anonymous-posting/security holes/HTMLability so wouldn't be inclined to pay to run the new code!
