I was at the anti-poll tax demonstration, the one in Trafalgar square.
Back in the day, the Wat Tyler antipolltax demo was stopped by Edward III's "I am your king, I will be your leader" speech, which was followed by the killing of the real leaders and the return of the status quo. (Check your copy of "1066 and all that", a satirical look at history. This bit they got 100% accurate, couldn't really add to it!)
This time, they got Paul Ross to pick out 'ringleaders' on ITV's version of Crimewatch. But the status quo was not returned.
