What is the official moderation policy on sockpuppets? I know that it's "discouraged", but is it just something that gets overlooked? What do you do when there's a user with, like, sixty of 'em?
And is it a policy to not reveal who's using a sockpuppet or what sockpuppets are sockpuppets? Or does it get played by ear?
I work for an internet publication. The other day, I overheard my boss telling somebody about some comments we were getting on an article that, saying "I hadn't even heard of the term 'sockpuppet'." I felt pretty special.
I think there is one post on this entire site that I made with a different name, just because I was taking a break from ILX, but couldn't help myself from making a comment about something.
