I am at an EV charging station

Nearest station to me is in the Santa Anita Mall parking lot. One broken charger and someone with a big Audi that's taking up two spots. The green lights all over this station give it the look of some sort of automated weed shop.

i’m reading that some EVs can get to 80% in less than 20 minutes with a fast charger, this seems good

No EV will get to 100% and it’s diminishing returns after 70-80% on a fast charger. If you think about it in terms of km added per minute it’s quicker to drive to a charger 200km down the road than charge there.

Fastned are my go to guys for charging data, and the mustang charge rate really tanks at 80% SoC. Better to stay in the battery happy place of 20-80% with DC fast charging.

I'm at that big Tesla Supercharger complex in Chino and a guy in an Ionic 5 just told me to "use that station boss! It's not communicating to the network right so it never bills your account. It's just on. Steal from Elon!"

He's right too. Second time its happened to me. I don't charge that much outside the house and only use the superchargers as a last resort. Fucking Nazi electricity keeps the electrons running on time.
