i'm hoping that HTC give rogers a bit of lattitude in pursuing a good GC spot at the tour, rather than just acting as a cog in the cav lead-out train

Cadel Evans wins the Fleche Wallone, powering past Alberto Contador on the final stretch of the Mur de Huy. Nice. He seems to have been reborn as an aggressive rider, starting in the Dauphine last year.

Home Taping Is Killing Muzak (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 17:22 (fourteen years ago) link

compared to the stress-head he's been the last couple of years, it's like a totally different rider.

yuh pretty awesome. My challopy prediction: he'll win giro, get cained in the tour?

wilter, Thursday, 22 April 2010 10:30 (fourteen years ago) link

vino wins LBL, the rest of the podium also named alex in some form or another

kill whiney (cutty), Sunday, 25 April 2010 15:46 (fourteen years ago) link

so, forgive vino? before he popped i kinda figgered he was dirty, but as with diluca, really liked his racing.

also, saw this:

The fact Vinokourov that trained recently in Tenerife, a reputed hideout for professional athletes looking to cheat, has not helped quell suspicion.

and then:

unhappy coincidences right

fat mantis (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 11:48 (fourteen years ago) link

garmin don't have the rice snax on hand any more, they need all the help they can get!!

the testers would be all over vino, surely? i was trying to think of the last (not lance) guy of that age to be competitive and could only think of ...rebellin, heh.

RESPECT A JOEY NEGRO (haitch), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:35 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, he claims to have been tested countless times since coming back:
http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest/452251/vinokourov-i-don-t-understand-persecution-against-me.html
Personally I was gutted that he won and glad to hear he was booed.

Home Taping Is Killing Muzak (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 16:21 (fourteen years ago) link

no, he wrote that hes been tested more than 30 times.

i hate it when dopers lie about how many times they get tested, as if we believe them anymore. come clean vino, how many times have you REALLY been tested?

eh, dont work too hard just stick at 300 watts for that last climb. that 5500 foot one. that lasts for 90 minutes.

fat mantis (Hunt3r), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 19:23 (fourteen years ago) link

easy!

kill whiney (cutty), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 20:26 (fourteen years ago) link

I'm not ure if this advert is shown in the states but is certainly a frequent one on Eurosport. Transitions Lenses transition Tyler Farrar into the boring junior accountant he would have been if he'd never found cycling. Not alarming like naked Fillipo Pozzato hawking sidi shoes but hardly the most effective advert for photochromatic lenses which don't exactly come with a cool image to start with.

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Thursday, 29 April 2010 13:24 (fourteen years ago) link

pozzato is gross

wilter, Thursday, 29 April 2010 13:40 (fourteen years ago) link

ive actually had a set of the transitions "drivewear" lenses for a couple of years and will strongly rep the optics for riding. and great for skiing, they are polarized and get xxx dark on bright cold days.

Ace sprinter Mark Cavendish admitted he let emotions get the best of him Thursday when he gave an Italian version of a two-finger salute as he crossed the line victorious in the second stage at the Tour de Romandie.

Eh? That's the British version.
