I had only heard of RObert Wagner because I remember asking "who the hell is he?" during the Leopard Trek presentation.

Earlier I considered trying to make a joke about Wagner being Hitler's favourite cyclist, but thought better of it

I have to convince my friend who aspires to be an steel bike artisan that I've ordered this

"F-Surface is a textured plastic strip applied to strategic locations on the frame, letting air travel smoothly around the frame instead of detaching and creating drag."

AND I can get it with Di2

Just on the off chance there's anyone browsing this thread who isn't bothering with the TDF thread over on ILE: I've set up an ILX league on this fantasy cycling website:
http://road.cc/fantasy-cycling-2011
The code to join is 6968

ah nice, ILTRMB is the last bit of ILX I go to for reasons of blood pressure and sanity.

We will be having a TdF thread here won't we?

excellent training regime, will be copying post-haste:

“I haven’t been getting much sleep lately,” Gilbert joked following his dramatic effort. “After the Tour, I had a big party with the team and then I’ve been hitting criteriums in Belgium and another one in Norway, staying up until 1 to 2 a.m. most nights. I guess I am used to the Spanish timetable by now.”

HTC dies and yet Rock Racing lives. Where is the justice?

sous les paves, Thursday, 4 August 2011 19:51 (thirteen years ago) link

even if you consider that the Chav exists anymore (or ever really did in anyone other than complete snob's minds), cav = definitely not one.

where's bernie eisel going?

problem chimp (Porkpie), Thursday, 4 August 2011 20:59 (thirteen years ago) link

so is sky gonna restructure around cav or what? assuming wiggins is done (is he?)

g++ (gbx), Friday, 5 August 2011 00:30 (thirteen years ago) link

Depends, if wiggins really does want to focus on the olympics then its based around Cav, if he wants the tour then Sky becomes the worst aspects of Garvelo Wiggins becomes Cristian VandeVelde.

I'm more concerned by the fate of the HTC womens team which is awesome and the riders have more uncertain futures than Cav and his train.

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Friday, 5 August 2011 00:32 (thirteen years ago) link

why does everyone seem to assume wiggins is done? he's already confirmed for the vuelta iirc.

some rumor that cav could go to greenedge?? now that would be a larf and a half, he had the press over here eating out of his hand at the TDU.

Omega-3 fatty acid house (haitch), Friday, 5 August 2011 01:26 (thirteen years ago) link

Lots of talk on twitter last night ghat there had been separate sponsor offers to finance the women's team, hope they come through.

The Cav interviews on the BBC on Monday really were great, I highly recommend digging them out.

problem chimp (Porkpie), Friday, 5 August 2011 06:24 (thirteen years ago) link

From Vaughters re: Cav going to Sky

@fredmantis @bradwiggins... I do need to rescue Brad.
