Just joined Endomondo. Just rejoined cycling after 15 years off the road. HFS at the folks who are doing +200mi, but I hope to join your ranks.

good to see new blood here, enjoy yr riding

oh shit you psyched yourself into liking mbv (Hunt3r), Wednesday, 16 October 2013 12:46 (ten years ago) link

Yes, hello! I'd suggest using Strava as well as Endomondo; I run them concurrently as there's a nice mix of data between the two.

I don't know how on earth you can squeeze 800 miles in.

Ah, but not everything goes up on Strava. Strava claims I only did 224 miles in October, but in reality it was 237 - a highly significant difference.

I don't know how on earth you can squeeze 800 miles in.

i'm a bit selfish for one thing, but i get in a lot of commute miles- maybe 100 a week. i justify it as only about 30 or 40 minutes or so extra a day, because it's how i get to work. driving with traffic to work, plus parking and walking to office, is 45 or even 50 mins each way for me. bike/rail to work is 40 to 45 mins each way. riding in, door to desk is about an hour, home is about 65 mins. and i'm really lucky too, most ppl in my situation don't even have an extra 30 mins a day. or colorado's climate.

this all said, 800 was the most i've done under this arrangement, and i'm feelin pretty stale on it.

decent, especially since the previous two months were 232 and 244 miles.

I missed out on 2000km by getting a bout of tonsillitis this week.

I'm stepping up the job search and also refocusing my riding a bit more on climbing so the milage is going to drop but I should be able to crack 8000km for the year. (I'm also down to 95kg from 102kg when I got to Australia and nearer 105kg at the start of the year so climbing is a lot more fun)

Fucking hellfire, Ed. Knew it was gonna be insane.

Strava says: 245.1mi, 16hr 1m, 11,564ft. Was busy this month with stuff other than cycling, which kept me down a bit.

I must say I am enjoying newer fitter me (and taking clothes to the dry cleaners to get taken in).

More seriously looking for a job now so less riding, but more hills to compensate.

December will be a bit broken up by going to London but I should still get my 8000km for the year, only 570km or so left to go.

A rubbish December for me (post-crash recovery and endless storms) - just 140 miles and most of that was in the last week.

My end of year total = 3,722 miles (compared to 3,800 for last year).

Pre-Madonna (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:37 (ten years ago) link

275 miles, 12,227 feet climbed in just shy of 20 hours in December.

For the year, 1,740 miles, 87,113 feet, and just shy of 120 hours. Which I'm pretty pleased with, given that all bar 250 of that has been since the start of July. Just wish I'd got back on the bike sooner and capped 3,000 again like I did in 2011.
