i used to work at a company that compiled a database of the bike industry, and entering "fi'zi:k" was always the biggest pain in the ass. i hate them and always will, regardless of whether or not their products are any good.

dont know if i'll sell my old l@@k frame. prob won't get much for it, the paint job is pretty fucked. Loved riding this bike back in the day :(

The saddle is pretty offensive - it arrived today. It's a Planet X own-brand fi'zi:k (fuck, Jordan, you're right) rip-off. I had hoped the central stripe was white; it's actually silver. The frame is racing green.

the TT bike was a hand-me-down from a teammate. trek's top of the line TT bike from 2004. hobbled it together this week for a stage race with a TT.
the wheels are new edge 1.45 tubulars. 18 spokes in the front, 24 in the rear, DT190 ceramic bearing hubs. the wheelset weighs 1089g. i have schwalbe durano tubulars on there.

it looks like the front wheel hits the downtube

The white glare from the window obscures part of the saddle and makes it look like some super futuristic, super-thin thing.

I don't really know much about bikes but it rides pretty well imo. It is a Fuji in case you can't make out the badge. I think it was like $25 at the flea market (got a new saddle though).

cool. yknow looks like even w the stem rise AND the spacers, it's got a modest, rec-style drop from saddle height.

stem nothin'! you should see the pedals!
appears to have been untouched in any way by original owner since leaving the shop. stem's due for a flip, pedals due to be melted down for scrap.

probably not as bad as it looks but I had to do a lot of adjusting (this was right after I installed it)
This just goes right over my head. Is there something weird about that kickstand, or are kickstands just lame in general?

Very elegant bike, I like it.
Sometimes I wish I had a kickstand. Loading up with groceries with the bike insubstantially supported by the poxy racks outside the store I have lost the whole bike tumbling over with egg related disasters into the bargain.
Can't bring myself to fit one though, which is crazy because I already have baskets and it would make loading at 24-pack so much easier.
― Mornington Crescent (Ed), Monday, 22 June 2009 14:26 (fifteen years ago) link
I'm surprised my bike passes muster with such aficionados! It rides like a dream though; I've just got to get a handle on shifting.
― Virginia Plain, Monday, 22 June 2009 22:42 (fifteen years ago) link
my experience with kickstands is that they arent robust or stable enough to be really useful. or the ground isn't level, or it's dirt, etc. it seems like those antique flickstands that lock up front wheel wheel would be more helpful for reliable leaning, tho ive never used one. i dont think they even make those anymore. /oldster

two legged motorcycle-style kickstands are the jam, but they shouldn't be on anything but a classy town bike or like a surly big dummy

it's hilarious to look at cannondale 'concept bikes of the future' that they said would come out around now... apparently, bicycle design took a different tack.

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2410/image001x.jpgNo bike, just traffic.
It's a Fuji set up as a single-speed. I am poor and so the grip tape has electric tape patching it up and the crank has a crack in it and the light on the front is tied on with kitchen twine. I'm sparing you.

My friend has a single-speed I could pick up with my pinky. Kinda jealous, as I stood on the scale holding mine, then not holding it, and there was a 27 lb. difference!

I got a new gear for my crank today and it's bigger. I'm not used to it and I wonder if I ever will be (huff, huff, wheeze). I'm pretty sure I'm faster, though.

There's ony one, on the underside of the right top (this is the fixed gear bike). The lever's a bit annoying tbh - I want a smooth, more ergo, longer one really. In pink :)
