70s/80s shitty mopeds: The new fixie bike?

wow ive seen two of these in the past coupla and was thinking it was weird. i think its all the dudes who wanna be cooler than the 8 million ppls who now drive scooters. evrybodys granny gotta have a scooter right now.

granted, i guess denver is a good place for a scooter as the weather is pretty nice.

in SF it was mopeds a couple summers ago.

whats it doing outside right now? i wanna know what to expect in two years.

everybody's windskating. like windsurfing but on skateboards.

Also, scooters are freaking expensive if you want a new one (that is, if you use it as your primary form of transportation). I kind of like those 90s/80s looking boxy scooters - less "Look @ me I'm so vintage" than the mopeds in SF, and I'm sure not too expensive.

The mopeds, in my opinion, are beardo skinny dudes who don't really give a fuck about the environment or being in good shape and just want to look cool in the Mission. The Pistas, on the other hand, are beardo skinny dudes who either may care about the environment and being in good shape and also want to look cool in the Mission. SF sucks sometimes.

Also, scooters aren't noisy as hell. Even if I was a beardo skinny shit and drove a moped for the "look at me factor" like a sports car, I'd eventually get tired of or embarassed by the endless barrage of noise they make. Scooters are somewhat quieter.
