Are you a day(night)-glo wonder or a dark horse? Can you be seen for miles or do you fade dangerously into the pitch black? Anoraks, sashes, belts, rucksack covers, armbands, legbands: discuss all sensible or otherwise night-biking gear here.

Myself: red anorak with sparse reflective detailing. Rucksack has a green reflective London Cycling Campaign sticker. I had some natty snaparound wrist bands, not sure where they are now.

Yep. I have a red rear LED, need a white front one.

I could do with some stick-on reflective tape. Red tape on a red helmet, nice 'n' unobtrusive.

ledge, Friday, 26 October 2007 15:42 (seventeen years ago)

however, i really like white base layers for some reason.

cutty, Friday, 26 October 2007 16:36 (seventeen years ago)

white blinky for front times, red 3M reflective tape on the seat stays for back times

....my sis used to work at 3M, actually, so i've got much of the frame covered in reflective tape

also, bailey works bag has massive reflective strips on the lid and on the bottom

gbx, Friday, 26 October 2007 16:47 (seventeen years ago)

Ooh the bottom, that's good. As soon as a bag is full the lid doesn't show behind you anymore, that's a problem where I clip my light. Shd sew on some extra tapes for that.

ddb, Friday, 26 October 2007 17:20 (seventeen years ago)

I don't ride that much at night, but I've got three blinkies in the front, two in the back, and little bits of reflective tap stuck here and there. I've thought about investing in some reflective clothing:

That seems a little oranger than I'm willing to go.

I only have a reflective sash from my moped days, which is partially hidden under my rucksack (reflective piping) when I'm commuting. I also have fluorescent ankle thingies but don't tend to wear them unless they're holding back a trouser.

Yeah, but isn't it so dorky that it's actually kind of cool. Right? right?

Super Cub, Friday, 26 October 2007 18:36 (seventeen years ago)

red blinky for the back, and i left all the dorky stock reflectors on my bike

sleep, Friday, 26 October 2007 19:29 (seventeen years ago)

omg i want those reflective safety hats

gbx, Friday, 26 October 2007 19:36 (seventeen years ago)

why? you should have a helmet on

cutty, Friday, 26 October 2007 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

The Planet Bike Superflash blinky that I use in back is seriously insane. On the front I have a 10w halogen (a prehistoric vistalite, but really a nice can/clamp design IMO), and a Planet Bike Blaze for a front blinky.

My pannier has reflectors, as do my pantleg straps and my jacket.

I do almost an hour and a half in the dark each day at this

Hunt3r, Friday, 26 October 2007 20:09 (seventeen years ago)

point.
