Like Schlumpf Bottom Bracket gearing systems

http://www.schlumpf.ch/

for super high or super low ratios and doubling the number of gears and giving you even more overlap.

They also make internal gearing hubs for unicycles.

It's just...SO much gear. Would you leave the bike outside ever?

Laurel, Thursday, 8 November 2007 15:29 (seventeen years ago)

I'd remove the lights.

Ed, Thursday, 8 November 2007 15:38 (seventeen years ago)

two weeks pass...

Friend of mine has little lights wrapped around her hubs somehow, which seemed like the COOLEST idea but unfortch they aren't very BRIGHT. Maybe batteries were just low? I was riding behind her, and I wouldn't have seen her if I were a car.

Oh oh oh oh

Laurel, Thursday, 29 November 2007 01:33 (seventeen years ago)

Oh hi fake bike girls making out! The Australian Knog site was the first google hit and uh it's interesting, all right.

Laurel, Thursday, 29 November 2007 01:35 (seventeen years ago)

You can tell she's supposed to be a bike girl by the ring in her lower lip.

Laurel, Thursday, 29 November 2007 01:35 (seventeen years ago)

Gloves not shown on any US site ;_1

you can get reflective armbands w/flshing LEDs in them, powered by a CR2032 button cell. It seems like an easier solution to having a flashing turn indicator on yer bike, I would have thought.

A couple of guys who come in the shop have those schlumpf bottom bracket gears - mountain drive or speed drive - fitted to Bromptons &/or recumbents. They're a really good system, expensive, but not TOO expensive.

Mark C, Monday, 17 March 2008 17:46 (seventeen years ago)

Thank you but a) they do not have the green listed and b) every single color and size listed is unavailable...?

Laurel, Monday, 17 March 2008 19:37 (seventeen years ago)

Oh bugger, I didn't check that, sorry. And I really fancy the green too. If I can find them in the UK I'll get you a pair if you tell me your size?

Mark C, Monday, 17 March 2008 23:26 (seventeen years ago)

googling "knog love hate gloves" found several stateside places selling the red/white and black versions

El Tomboto, Monday, 17 March 2008 23:40 (seventeen years ago)

Really? My search turns up one Russian result, one Japanese, a few Euro, and the JensenUSA site with everything "not available". And a few results involving "Hoang Kong". Maybe I shd have turned safe search off.

Laurel, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 14:18 (seventeen years ago)

Googling "love glove" won't be a problem at the office, will it?

Laurel, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 14:19 (seventeen years ago)

weird. anyway:

Still not green.

If green ones can be found in the UK, I can bring over on my way to see the Republicans.

Ed, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:19 (seventeen years ago)

Crank Brothers Egg-beaters - C/D?

Mark C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:38 (seventeen years ago)

ultra C

ledge, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 23:28 (seventeen years ago)

but maybe more mtb-oriented like i said on the other thread. the road pedals on wiggle look kinda bizarre to me:
http://wiggle.co.uk/CategoryProducts.aspx?categoryName=Pedals%20-%20Road%20Clip-In&cat=cycle

ledge, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 23:34 (seventeen years ago)

Urltra C, I have been riding them for a couple of years after an aeon on SPDs. Although they may not be terribly road, they are very good for urban riding as it is much harder to miss the step in.

Ed, Thursday, 10 April 2008 05:55 (seventeen years ago)

"Not terribly road" - looks or function? If it makes riding less efficient (say) then I might steer clear.

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 09:38 (seventeen years ago)

looks certainly, function - not sure, what ed says about urban riding is true but all those road pedals on wiggle do look weirdly different; but i'm not a roadie so i don't know what one looks for in a road pedal.

ledge, Thursday, 10 April 2008 09:49 (seventeen years ago)

i dont like the feel as much as the time atacs, but the egg beaters are so much lighter that they're worth it. Classic for riding and racing.

for riding with regular shoes, dud (i don't use these on my commuter bikes, i use times)

Hunt3r, Thursday, 10 April 2008 15:06 (seventeen years ago)

Some of the egg beaters have platforms, including the one specifically designed for "road" use. I will always be wearing cleats when I ride; is there any advantage in getting the type with the platform or is that just added nuisance/price?

(Hunt3r, thanks btw - you're always really helpful, much appreciated)

Mark C, Monday, 21 April 2008 12:17 (seventeen years ago)

I've never felt any problem with the lack of extra platform in the basic model.

ledge, Monday, 21 April 2008 13:28 (seventeen years ago)

Ditto, but I have never ridden any road style pedals or anything bigger than a basic shimano spd.

Ed, Monday, 21 April 2008 14:41 (seventeen years ago)

Ordered the regular stainless steel eggbeaters. Hope they work!

Mark C, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)
