how crispy do you feel? if youve done like 35+ race days, you might wanna chill. if youve got the time money and desire to try something new, its pretty fun. i doubt that itd interfere much with your prep for next year, but i dont think itd be advisable to try and build in another peak for it or anything. just go out and have fun and dont get hurt. does yr coach have an opinion?

no i assume my training would remain in taper mode while i just go out to do this to keep the competitive spirit alive. i have a potentially great deal on a once-used CX bike so i'm considering it.

i think my coach races CX too so he'd probably encourage it for fun.

did you ever find a cx bike?

Yes! I own a Cross-Check, now. Got it super cheap, but it's stock. Also: the pedal threads on the left crank arm STRIPPED the other day while I was in rush hour traffic wtf 0_o

I've got 105 derailleurs waiting to be installed, but the rear is short-cage. does that mean I'll be running 1x9? Note: I do not have a problem with that.

thats great, i somehow missed the acquisition.

do you have a replacement crankarm or crankset?

a shortcage is a cx standard, youre fine. a 105 shortcage will take a 27 tooth rear, as long as you dont have crazy chainring combo.
