nothing quite on the piano-wire level, but yes. melbourne talkback kingpin neil mitchell was on the soapbox a few weeks back with the "cyclists should be registered!!" nonsense, 'coincidentally' the last fortnight has seen the cops having some useless crackdown on bikes in the city. they also love to get up in arms about hardcore saturday morning training bunch, the hell ride - a pedestrian got hit in '06 i think which is obviously terrible, but to then have the police air wing monitor a bunch of cyclists??

actually this has just recently gone down: murdoch tabloid hack pens fatties-in-lycra-baiting opinion piece; cycling blogger artfully clowns her and offers to take her riding to see the error of her ways; she goes and eats her words! (a bit)
