Good News Week Triumphant return of a classic flattened by an incessant line-up of stand-up comedians hell-bent on doing schtick at the expense of the whole production. Also plodding. Otherwise fine.
The Gruen Transfer Ad execs talk about ads, with Wil Anderson trying to slide in a joke at every opportunity. Flat.
Spicks and Specks Just like Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but with a focus on music. Three utterly affable hosts, a good range of guests (many of whom don't use the show to advertise their current stand-up tour) and a nice tight timeslot.
Salam Caf Nice idea. Never seen it.
Before/After the Game/Footy (sic) Show AFL yobs talk about AFL for hours and hours, occasionally insulting a large slice of the population. Avoid.
The Einstein Factor Geeks answer questions on a special subject, like World War II aeroplane engines or Ceylonese radio stars of the 1940s. Unless you care about a subject (and usually you don't), boring.
The New Inventors Just like The Inventors but, uh, newer. People rock up with what they done invented at home and a panel of omg expert judges assesses them. Entertaining if you like that sort of thing.
Rove Talented man wastes talent by interviewing bogan superstars for a bogan audience.

Please draw diagram of Rove's 'talents'.
NB looking smarmy and having a shit-eating grin is not a talent.

BUT HE DOES THAT WELL TOO
― Autumn Almanac, Friday, 20 June 2008 03:48 (seventeen years ago)
Somewhere there's a feller taking off his pants and shoveling mud down his urethra and despite it being quite unnerving and horrible he does it very well.

Good News Week I'm glad that it came back to eliminate any notion that was any good in the past. "Yes, let's rip-off 'Have I Got News For You' and let's draft in a bunch of fourth-rate British stand up comedians that never mention politics and media and that unfashionable guff but maybe they'll take like pirates, hey?" Also, those 16-year-olds girls that fancy Paul McDermott are just creepy.
The Gruen Transfer Ugh. I tried watching one episode but no, just no. If advertisers talking about advertisements didn't want to make me switch off, here's Wil Anderson's hair! (And Wil Anderson.)
Spicks and Specks MYF'S CLEAVAGE, AMIRITE?? I like this show, it has nice hosts and captains and it has good guests. Even if Alan pretended to be embarrassed knowing Scritti Politti.
Salam Caf Didn't see it but I'm sure it was competent and maybe amusing.
Before/After the Game/Footy (sic) Show Before The Game isn't bad, especially now they got rid of Peter Helliar (unfortunately, they didn't manage to get rid of him in a wig). It's the only show where I can tolerate "Hughesy", which must say something.
Footy Show? AHAHAHAHA SAM NEWMAN DOES SOMETHING OUTRAGEOUS AHAHAHAHAHA
The Einstein Factor I remember watching it once and one of the contestants was a really hot chick. Her specialist subject? The British sitcom, "As Time Goes By". She was from Tasmania. Hmmm.
The New Inventors You have to be over 40 and own a shed to "get" this show.
Rove Talented man? Who's that? Never seen one on this show.
― King Boy Pato, Friday, 20 June 2008 04:40 (seventeen years ago)
oh myffy, you came and you showed your cleavagey
― electricsound, Friday, 20 June 2008 04:43 (seventeen years ago)
Another Triple D Top 20 track there!
(Did you see what I did there?)
― King Boy Pato, Friday, 20 June 2008 06:32 (seventeen years ago)
loool
― electricsound, Friday, 20 June 2008 06:40 (seventeen years ago)
Me: "I reckon I'd do great on that Spicks & Specks show." Ex-Girlfriend: "Uhhh, they only let celebrities on that." Me: "Hey, I used to be on Three D Radio, OK."
― King Boy Pato, Friday, 20 June 2008 12:16 (seventeen years ago)
I like Spicks and Specks, but a regular guest on that show, who is ALSO an English comedian, once felt me up rather uncomfortably, so I never turn on in case he's on.
I quite like The Gruen Transfer, despite Anderson, who was last week wearing a horrendous suit that made him look like my cousin, i.e. a used car salesman and his shirt was too dark to work with it.
Rove isn't and has never been funny, EVER.
― edwardo, Friday, 20 June 2008 23:11 (seventeen years ago)
Rove is also very bad at his job of asking celebrities questions and listening to the answers.

i thought gruen was pretty good in spite of will 'wil' anderson. before the game is good.
i used to work briefly with nazeem off salaam cafe at the job, he's hilarious!
― haitch, Sunday, 22 June 2008 11:20 (seventeen years ago)
I watched Salaam Cafe and it wasn't bad even if 90% of jokes were "lol we're terrorists nah bruv not really lol".
― King Boy Pato, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 13:09 (seventeen years ago)
HAHAHAHA SAM NEWMAN IS BACK TO BE DELIGHTFULLY UN-PC AHAHAHAHA
― King Boy Pato, Thursday, 26 June 2008 12:41 (seventeen years ago)
I watched the NRL Footy Show for the first time ever last night...and well...I'm still waiting for them to talk about the Rugby, which is supposedly the reason why the show exists.
