lol i was in the tate modern today and sorry to be rockist but the only pictures to seriously impress me were by picasso and pollock

that said the best exhibit was the giant metal box in the entrance hall, because barely any light gets in there, so you can basically go to the back corner and snog shamelessly as people swarm around you, unseeing. and then when your eyes become accustomed to the light you can see them, but they are still wandering forwards like romero's finest

don't recall that one specifically! there was quite a good picture by a guy with a famous name which i forget which was a depiction of about 12 jumbled, scrawled figures that a child might paint, including one that looked like a big red hamburger

matisse's snail is pretty iconic, important + well-conceived, i guess...who was that victor chap with the blobs? loved him, sorta.

basically nothing there was remotely on the level of alexandr rodin whose work i saw in berlin and who is pretty much my favourite modern painter
