Besides the screaming Asian women sneaking in lotus flowers from China, it seems to be a contest between NZ and AU to see who can deny more people in to their country. This week Au dude came in with coke/heroin/etc all over him and was deported back to Australia and was in tears.

When I was a teen we stayed at surfers and I recall my parents going to one of those dodgy "check out this timeshare investment" afternoons. Nothing came of it (thank fuck, my dad is the worst for falling for that shit, which is amusing for a lifelong car salesman), but yeah.

I hated the place. Hated sufers. Hated the mall. Hated Dreamworld. Uggh.

I grew up in Canberra and we only travelled around NSW when I was a kid. When we went north, it was amazing to me when the geography changed - suddenly, fields of sugar cane and pineapples and whatnot, it was so ALIEN to me.

I was driving around the desert in south australia last week and you can actually see spots where the sand goes from the sandy yellow to the rich red colour. Also it was fuucking cold 0.7 degrees was the min.
