I also have been craving pork pies, which signifies the start of my spiralling into a festive binge of lard and more lard and booze and some lard. I am just managing to stave off my craving for green vegetables, but I'm sure my current diet means it's just around the corner.
So what about you? What do you crave?

I really don't know what the hell is wrong with me--I have never had such a strong urge to consume ANYTHING, not chocolate, not alcohol, not nothin! I'm definitely not preggers, so this is very perplexing and distracting. I don't even really feel hungry, just this overwhelming urge that I must must must eat vinegar NOW!
So far I have eaten half a very large jar of pepporoncini (including drinking the liquid straight from the jar), doused my salad with so much vinegar that the lettuce pretty much disintigrated, and downed a bag of Utz salt and vinegar chips (which, by the way, were a long, long way from being sufficintly vinegary). I've also eaten lots and lots of cornichons (and drank their liquid out of that jar, too).
Help.

How Strong is the Vinegar You Can Buy at Retail? The strength of vinegar is measured by the percent of acetic acid present in the product. All vinegar sold in the United States at the retail level should be at least 4% acidity as mandated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Typical white distilled vinegar is at least 4% acidity and not more than 7%. Cider and wine vinegars are typically slightly more acidic with approximately 5-6% acidity.
How Can Vinegar Clean My Counters and Flavor My Pickles? The acid in vinegar cuts through the grease and germs on your counter tops and is also the ingredient that makes your favorite pickles so tart and safe to eat by inhibiting bacteria and mold. See the “Uses and Tips” section of the Web site for other ideas for using this versatile product.

i think my favorite place for rice and beans in NY is "Margon", on 46th between 7th and bway - but at all these types of places, where rice and beans are one of the main attractions, you only need to ask yourself two things: white rice or ywllow rice? and black beans or red beans?

Sautee diced onions, garlic and cumin powder in olive oil. Once cumin scent gets strong, add 2 tablespoons sofrito (you vcan get this at any decent bodega in the NYC area) plus half your can of beans. Mash up other half of can. Low heat throughout all this. Add salt, a dash of red wine vinegar and a little water. Once it gets to bubblin', add mashed beans. Stir, cover, low heat for about 10 minutes. This is guaranteed no joke over yr rice.

This amazing chicken dish I used to get at an Indian place in NJ. It was sort of like Chicken Tikka, chicken breast rubbed in spices and stuff, but I think they used cilantro and mint because it was neon green on the outside. So good.

Janssen's temptation, anything with anchovies, cheese as I rarely eat it due to migraines. Chocolate for the same reason. Chips, roast potatoes, lamb chops. Smoked haddock and smoked meat or fish generally, Irish sausages, soda bread. Deboned chicken which I grill myself with few different ways of seasoning. Tinned fish or shellfish in all its forms. Rocket with everything.

all i ever want to eat is baguette and cheese. or bread in general. when i was a kid i used to tell my parents that i "wanted to go to jail" because my conception of jail came from pulp fantasy novels and i thought they just like tossed A RUDE HUNK OF BREAD through the bars.

Miso soup, raw oysters, and queso. The problem is, I'm getting more and more lactose intolerant, and cheese makes me ill. I can't stop craving it though.

yeah
I think pizza is pretty much the perfect food because both bread and cheese are involved.

Poutine! To me, it's pretty much the epitome of the deliciousness=non-nutritiousness axiom. I'd happily eat it three days a week if it wasn't so unhealthy for me. As it is, I rationalize that "once a week is fine", but I suspect that even that's too often.

movie-theater popcorn. the worst kind, drenched in whatever that yellow non-butter substance is. my favorite part of the tim burton 'alice in wonderland' movie was the part where my popcorn was so fucking delicious i forgot to pay attention to the screen.
