What category do FAPs belong in? I put this in "friendship".

So, yeah, I'm 30 on the 16th March, which is a Tuesday. So I want you all to FAP me please. Who's with me?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

so be it

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy buffday & all that, wish I could make it!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

My thread! My thread's, like, dead!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Awww, there there!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I got you a tumbleweed for your thread

.............................0...................................

chris (chris), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You shouldn't have.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

it was the least he could do

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Markel(manincorduro...), fap away merrily.
30's a fine age to be (me recalls hazily)
's a pity I'm too far away, verily.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Thursday, 26 February 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course you will be attended, Marco me old mucker. Just keep the AFC Wimblingdon chatter down to reasonable levels.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 26 February 2004 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Meta - IL* Events is the usual home for FAP threads.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:01 (twenty-two years ago)

So where will the FAP be? Come on, make a bold statement so we can judge you based on your preferred London location for FAP-ing, etc. etc. Of course I'm there. So long as it's not out of Zone 1. ;-)

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Soho, cos that's where I work and is obv the centre of the Universe. Perhaps it should be in the Intrepid Fox, so that when stevem turns up in a tie it'll get cut off.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha! Then I can really Goff out! let's have a Goff FAP! We all dress like silly batty-bats and Starry Sarah turns up in a suit!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

tie-envy does not become you Marcus

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

RoX0r FAP!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Every FAP is a goth FAP.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I was joking about the Foxxx, to be honest.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Pint Pot? ;)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

F#ck off

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

could this be the fabled wetherspoons FAP?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

it should be at the turnpike and scrote in Colindale, I hear they do lovely panninis, not to mention Chicken pasta

chris (chris), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

it's in my diary...

and if it's a goth FAP, anna can wear her special new goth shirt she got from me! wow, more clothes swap wearing!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

It's "prezzies".

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha, there's a Weatherspoons on Southampton Row that HSA really wants to go back to! it's massive! And cheap! And cheaply massive! (I will refrain from making the obvious joke.)

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

do you mean the one at the top of kingsway? (haha, like the description "cheap and massive" diffentiates one wetherspoons from all the others...) i had lunch there with some co-workers, not bad as far as these things go...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, that would be the one, Shakespeares Cock or whatever it's called. Cheap and massive, what I like in a woman and in a pub!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Not the Penderel Oak? Me and Madchen saw mice in there. (radical fringe reworking of "Cats", obv)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

You have built it, and I will come.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Meta IL* events

A lot of idiots put them in the drinking category, though. This is because they are idiots.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah! what do they think we do at FAPs, drink? idiots...

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I was joking about them being idiots, obv. 'Meta: IL* events' doesn't exactly leap out at you.

But the idea is that the non-meta threads are subject based. ie. 'drinking' means threads about drink and drinking, not announcements of events that include drinking.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

N OTM!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

n.b I am a librarian, and correct categorisation means alot to me.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

But not correct spelling!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, spelling can go jump.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

(jel, I thought you were a library assistant for some reason - are you qualified now, or are you just using the word loosely?)

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

but what did I spell wrong, unless you are pulling the old alot a lot thing.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

i feel bad that i haven't categorised any of my threads for about a year now

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

(I'm still a library assistant, but I'll be qualified once I complete my boring information management MA)

oh, might come to this FAP, if it's central.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry - I didn't realise you were sticking with Ronan on the 'alot' thing. Yes, that's what it was.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

If you can arrange to FAP this in LA, I'd be delighted to attend.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Categorising my threads is my favourite part of starting new threads!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't even want to talk about categorising threads because if I get started I will just on an endless rant and people will laugh at me taking this all waaaay too seriously.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 26 February 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i am intending going to spain around then. i may investigate going via london just for you mark. yay!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

"going to spain".

Of course you are coming Ailsa!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

No really, i was going to visit my mum for mothers day. But I could go via London just for Mark. If I can get time off work, that is....

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I fear you may not realise the ph34rful implications of the phrase "going to Spain" for London ilxors, Ailsa.

(It implies the ultima Thule of ultima Ruin.)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i have heard the rumours. it is probably less ruinous than my red wine fixation let loose in the home of rioja though...

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

red wine in Spain is so cheap & fantastic, you will indeed hit ruin Ailsa!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

(replying to something about thirty posts ago)

yes kate the shakespeare's head.

anyway, where is barry, this is his thread and he should be ORGANISING!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 27 February 2004 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Head, Cock, I knew it was something dirty. Ach well. If Barry don't turn up and organise soon, we'll have it there. At least everyone will be able to get a seat!

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 27 February 2004 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure Stevem will organise in Mark's absence! *ducks*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, this is very curious. We made a dirty joke and Stevem didn't appear. Something has gone very wrong with the world this morning.

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 27 February 2004 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe we need to say his name one more time....

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Stevem is on holiday and possibly ruined. If I were him I wouldn't even have bothered to get out of bed by now.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I'll bring Barry a $hit sandwich

chris (chris), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

brings a new meaning to "coughing up for someone's present"

ken c (ken c), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll set them up Ken, you put them away

chris (chris), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

He shoots, he scores!
x-post

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

This is a prime example of how NOT to do a FAP thread, people. 59 posts old and still no pub chosen. Focus people, focus.

And put the pub choice in nice big letters when you've chosen, Barry.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

so are the pressies supposed to be our old clothes, like for pink panther?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Anna should totally give Mark that leather skirt!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

that's "pleather skirt" isn't it?

has baz fallen off the planet?

DC, your steering committee training is going well, young acolyte ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, i stand (well sit) corrected! *bows head*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

HI DERE

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

it's the amazing barry :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Always.

As to the venue, can I have some time to think about it? It's going to be within half a mile of mid-Soho, if that helps anyone planning.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Glasshouse Stores, natch. I've phoned ahead and booked downstairs. Y'all up for it?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 March 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, alright then.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 1 March 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Wahhh, I don't think I can come as I am house-sitting for my parents all that week. (Read: drinking their gin and killing their house plants.) But I will send gifts!

Archel (Archel), Monday, 1 March 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoot! If anyone else wants to send gifts I'm happy to give out my address.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 March 2004 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Incidentally, you do all have to come as I've promised them 25 people. And I'd be gutted if you didn't.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 March 2004 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll come Mark I will would you like a crocheted eye-patch?*

*SOMEONE will one of these days I'll tell you

Sarah (starry), Monday, 1 March 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes please Sarah!!

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 March 2004 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there, barring horrendous complications resulting from my eye surgery the previous week.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 1 March 2004 19:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm reviving because i don't want mark to think people like my FAP better than his. so if you're picking one fap to go to, go to this one. but come on, you know you want to go to both...

are you registered somewhere, or are we just supposed to bring random stuff?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

B-but The Pernice Brothers are playing that night...

Canada Briggs (Canada Briggs), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay Mark's birthday Yay!

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Registered? Oh my. You don't really have to bring me presents, but it is always nice :)

(Martin, thanks so much for reviving this - I was having a vaguely shitty day and craving attention)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

(Colette revived it, btw)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

(He's still cross with Colette for having a fap thread too!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

(Why are we talking in brackets?)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

(It makes it like a secret society)

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

(yup!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

(it's exciting to be in a secret society! i've always wondered what it feels like!)

said out loud: hope you aren't actually cross with me, mark...i fully expect at least 4 times as many people at your birthday celebrations. not only because you're only 30 once, but because people are scared you'll beat them up if they don't come! (not really)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

lurks

j0e (j0e), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

You coming out to play then, j0e?

(Come out next Wednesday as well... you haven't fapped in ages)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep I'll be coming to this 'un - no can do next Weds as it'll be football.

I think this is the first time I've posted here this year - damn my motivation and commitment to work etc.

j0e (j0e), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

So Kris passed on my message then? Hurrah for my influence over the powerful!!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 March 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

ha, I like Mark confusing me with Colette. What with the sex and height and shape and sex appeal and dress style, it's no wonder.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 4 March 2004 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, at the first FAP i went to, people kept asking me if i was your sister! it was so weird...

colette (a2lette), Friday, 5 March 2004 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I just found out that on the 16th I have to do one of the most stressful/important presentations for work. Basically would ruin our little company if we get it wrong. So...
(A) I will be in a suit - AGAIN (maybe even a pin-stripe one - please don't poke fun)
(B) I will be in dire need of beer(s) at the end of the day

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 5 March 2004 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt, I'm sure Colette and I can manage to keep you out most of the night drinking! We excel at this! (Good luck with the presentation, and good luck that the drinking is AFTER not BEFORE like last time ;-)

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 5 March 2004 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

You talkin' to me? (Unless Matt also has a job-threatening presentation)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 5 March 2004 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

And I have no doubt that you ladies can keep me out drinking...
*Night Guy rubs hands together in evil fashion*
*Morning Guy trembles with fear*

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 5 March 2004 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

D'oh! WTF? I was thinking "Rob" as I posted that, but it says Matt. Matt, are you controlling my thoughts through the Moog-shirt mind-meld now?

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 5 March 2004 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt and I are the same person. Have you ever seen us together? No, wait - you have. Scratch that.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 5 March 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Plus you're the Lone Canadian which is kind of a dead giveaway. ;-)

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 5 March 2004 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

wait, kate, now what are you volunteering me for! i'm scared!

colette (a2lette), Friday, 5 March 2004 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Bump - best night of the year, for sure! Come one, come all! You can smell the desperation!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 11 March 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I wondered what it was

chris (chris), Thursday, 11 March 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm planning on being there, assuming i'm not still hung over from last night. oh, never want to drink again!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 11 March 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

But you will. Were you distracted from homelessness?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 11 March 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I might be bringing an OUTSIDER! Please refrain from gasping, pointing and staring.

Barry are you going to have real life friends there as well?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Hell no! I don't know how well they'd mix, and I don't want to have to flit between factions or pull apart punch-ups. This is an ILX love-in, yo (note for Martin: I'm not speaking literally).

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I note to my annoyance that this is the night before the Budget, which will ruin my hangover recovery the next morning as I will have to trawl through reams of tedious financial analysis.

Right, that's it. I'm voting Tory at the next election.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, i was very very distracted from homelessness, thanks!

i had two 'real life' friends there last night, and everyone seemed to get along. one was even a fan of rob bolton's band!

who are you bringing, matt? anyone interesting?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

A mate of mine, he turned 30 a while back and is moaning about never meeting people he has anything in common with. He supports QPR and follows lower-league football and is well into his Belle and Sebastian and Carter USM. I told him that if he couldn't find anyone he wanted to talk to at this event then there is no hope for him.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

just a sex change away from perfection

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

*shudders*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I am really sorry I can't make this. I'm currently going through a shall I/shan't I move to London phase with midweek fapping weighing in heavily on the "shall" side.

MarkH (MarkH), Sunday, 14 March 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark C you & I haff the same birthday! Happiest & many happy returns to you!

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Sunday, 14 March 2004 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Astrology proven definitively true - at last!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Sunday, 14 March 2004 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

So what time will you be at the pub from tomorrow, Mark? (This affects how much retail abuse therapy I can get in before pint time)

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 15 March 2004 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Ahem Liz I might be up for some of the retail abuse/therapy also, with particular attention to a certain pair of yellow shoes you may be aware of. Wearing new shoes to a FAP is BLUDDY GRATE but I have no idea how to successfully co-ordinate an outfit to cope with boring black office shoes and then SUPER EXCITING NEW YELLOW SHOES. Coo.

6ish is the default pub time obv, others may claim early doors rights as desired (I know I usually do).

Sarah (starry), Monday, 15 March 2004 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Liz, the bit of downstairs I booked is from 6; I will be there about 6.30. Mark, I'm sorry you can't come - when you move to London I'm sure you'll out-FAP the hardiest regular :)

John D - I always said we had so much in common! Thanks for your birthday wishes and I shall raise a drink to you and your uncommon musical talents tomorrow night.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 March 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh! It seems more and more probable that I will have to start my new job the morning after. Oh dear. I will still stop by, but must avoid ruin at all cost and stick to one or two shandies. Seriously.

Colette, are you coming? Shall I bring your boots?

The River Kate (kate), Monday, 15 March 2004 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

im not sure i can make it either now

gareth (gareth), Monday, 15 March 2004 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be there!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 15 March 2004 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmph. It's not like I didn't give you enough warning! Ah well, I'm really looking forward to this.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 March 2004 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

happy BIRTHDAY, mark!

mandee, Monday, 15 March 2004 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm going to be there! just after i beat up loads of shop assistants in order to make myself feel better. yay all hail retail abuse therapy!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 15 March 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

It's not the birthday TODAY, though, is it?

the bluefox, Monday, 15 March 2004 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not THE birthday day, that's for sure.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 15 March 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Bump. I'm secretly hoping this turns into one of those threads where some vague tangent snowballs and becomes 200 posts of side-splitting essential reading.

(I'm not holding my breath)

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Lady, if you have to ask...

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I know. I want organised hysteria.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Would it be OK if I scream hysterically Barrymania stylee at you later in the pub?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, yes it would.

Incidentally, MASSIVE PROPS to MarkH who proved yet again what a generous and lovely person he is. Shame you're not coming tonight, Mark, I owe you a drink :)

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, all you need to say is 'Busted are shit' & Kate will fill it up all by herself!! See?!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

he said "side-splitting" not "head-splitting."

; )

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

he also said he wanted 200 posts! Surely volume & humour don't go together on ILX!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

'volume' really is a word, maybe even the.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Busted are very much one of those bands where I am convinced that some kind of weird inverted snob pretension thing (or, in Kate's case, animal lust) is the only reason some people profess to like them...

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

do you hate fun Mark?

(and have you not watched the "that's what I go to school for" video?)

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Well if Kate doesn't fill it up Mark, at least RJG will!
x-post

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i've just checked with my dictionary, "the" is definitely a word.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

the is a.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't quite understand why some people are so doolally over Busted, but some of their songs are OK, y'know.

Nice trolling there Mark dude!

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Er ;-)

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Well I'm coming because I "profess" to like you Mark, so I wouldn't knock it until you've tried it!

"thé"?

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

ter es a

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

p.s. FADDR b4 FAP? i played again the other day at the bowling centre i got a round of applause from some 14 yr old girls, great! (they may even have been in a teenage girl band but i don't know about these things.. busties or something)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooo I could be tempted! I'm going for a quick wander round the shops first though but after that wd be gd. We are so NOT doing that last song we played, btw! And I am SO finishing on standard level. Argh my brain has lost the lovely language of arrows.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds grebt - let me know when you finish battling the shops!

Argh my brain has lost the lovely language of arrows

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye, will do. Will you mail me your number, I don't know if I have the right one! This email address with the obv taken out will reach me...

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

just did it - i'll prolly hang about at work for a bit so let me know about 10-15 mins before you get there!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

What makes you think that inverse snob pretension has nothing to do with it in my case, Mark? ;-)

No. Fuck that. I love bubblegum. Though yeah, the pure animal lust helps, too:

http://members.lycos.nl/busted1986/James78.jpg

Hrmmm. Just found out my job doesn't actually start until Friday. Shall I wear my suit anyway? Or perhaps I should ressurect my old stage suit. I hope I got it dry cleaned after the last Sunday Vodka Syndicate!

The River Kate (kate), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Wear the suit, dude! Suits are great if you feel comfortable in them. I don't, sadly.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I am unsuited today. I feel unsuited for today too.

Dave B (daveb), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

That's okay Dave. We can chat about our newly-announced pre-season friendly versus the Daggers if you like.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Grrrrr. HSA just took the piss out of my garage rock suit. Just for that, I am DEFINITELY wearing it now. Authentic vodka stains - OOPS I MEAN SPECIAL COKE STAINS - and all.

The River Kate (kate), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I am suited. AND booted. I'll see you folks later.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never seen you NOT in a suit.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

LL Smart Rob.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Aha. The payment for the share issue, no doubt...

Dave B (daveb), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Pardon?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i am not suited obv...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I are dressed like scruffbag today, marv.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

The advisor for the share issue (John East) is Chairman of Dagenham IIRC.

I'm really unhappy; D&R are the original franchise team (lets merge a load of smaller clubs) and also, isn't there an acccusation still hanging over Garry Hill by some of his black players? Or were those charges unfounded?

Dave B (daveb), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Hrmmm. Should I go down Hair By Fairies on the way to the pub and get my highlights put back in, or have I tortured myself enough today with bra shopping? Must make myself presentable for new job...

The River Kate (kate), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I just got a new job too and will be celebrating tonight, BAN OR NO BAN.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy birthday to a man with whom I share a birthday!

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

A nice boy called (I think) Jorga gave me a (I think) rocking 'do there last night, so I'd say you should.

xpost for Kate

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Cor BLIMEY Tico, smashing!!!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

A nice boy called (I think) Jorga gave me a (I think) rocking 'do there last night, so I'd say you should.

but I hear he sometimes zinges people's hair with JORGA FLAME!!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I just got a new job too!! I'm particularly excited cos it was basically either this job or leave london in september or live off a bank loan for a year. but now i have a three year job in london with hardly any teaching and a nice big grant to spend on travelling and on computers! hurrah!

so i will be celebrating too. obviously i won't be seeking to upstage mark's celebrations though.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

TOM SMASH BAN!

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes exactly Toby we must have a quiet and polite new-job celebration corner with the occasional loud huzzah for Barry.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats on jobs to both Toby and Tom.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Everybody has shiny new jobs! Hurrah!

All celebration is good, Toby - add your employment-related joy to Barry's becoming-older-?joy? and all will be wonderful and drunken.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

let's all celebrate tonight by having the rest of ILX, the whole of ILX banned from the Glasshouse Store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm sure this is addressed upthread, but how early are people going to get there?!

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I'm up or that. And please, celebrate away, it's hardly a cause for congratulations reaching 30 :/

(sgs will be there around 6, and I'll be there 6.30 or so)

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and in theory (which I think I've said before) it's the SMALL part of downstairs at the GHS that I've booked. Dunno how it'll work in practice.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the bit round the other side from the loos?

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know. Is it at the bottom of the stairs the top of which start just by the main pub entrance?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it just the loos?

I'm planning on 5:30-ish cos I have to leave at 7.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats on jobs to both Toby and Tom.

Yay. And there's a third new-jobber coming tonight too (it's not me).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

is it a small Mancunian? or the good lady wife?

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

The GHS can stick its ban up its arse.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I don't care if they say they would call the police tyhe minute I put my head round the door. Like I told them it is Mark C's birthday and the MAN can't stop me.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX to GHS: Don't try it.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

GHS to ILX: You're better than this.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX to GHS: Two pints of Ayingerbrau and an Old Brewery. Now. I've got a publishing deal. What have you accomplished?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

GHS to ILX: Not had many long times recently, sir?

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX to GHS:three long vodkas please

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX to GHS: Don't try it or you'll be in a box before long

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i wish i could go to the GHS tonight. they serve sweet tuna baguette thangs. MMM.

mandee, Tuesday, 16 March 2004 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Glasshouse Stores is an anagram of 'S sure Goes to slash', which is apt considering the demands Ayingerbrau tends to put on my bladder

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Especially when we consider your flick knife antics on Friday.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Man, I wish I'd been there instead of being fed delicious sweet potato dauphinoise. It sounds like a (laugh) riot went down.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

HE WASN'T LAUGHING.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there between 5.30 and 6. Shopping for comics and music en route.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

right i'm off to the pub here now to clebrate. i'll be at the GHS around 6 i reckon...

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be late probably - mundane tasks must be carried out successfully prior to midweek ruinrevelry

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be late, as I work in a stupid place

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Bring us ice-cream!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah dude, bring us ice cream!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i will be early, even though i work in a stupid place...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going for food first and will still be there earlier than almost all of you.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Well get you, fancy pants.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

does the glasshouse stores do food?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, typical pub grub. GIANT nacho plate.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there, at some point, probably... me vs. spag bol stains, again. Grr.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

It is URGENT AND KEY that someone comes equipped with a crossword.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I will bring my special crossword magazine.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm leaving in ten minutes, if tyhere's not a pint of life-giving OB waiting for me when I get there I'm turning round and leaving

chris (chris), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this thread where we wish him a happy birthday? If so, rah!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus, I thought for a moment you meant an unholy hypbrid of a crossbow and a sword. I'm livin' Barry too much.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy birthday, Mark.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

wow cabbage gets to leave his work before 6pm and he complains!!!!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this thread where we wish him a happy birthday? If so, rah!

I tried:

Happy Birthday, Mark C

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Right, just putting on my suit and leaving soon. Just had to make HSA his tea so he didn't complain. I've already had a bollocking for putting the kiddie porn as my wallpaper. And I mean a figurative bollocking before anyone gets any teabagging ideas!

See you soon!

The River Kate (kate), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 18:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Just a brief update. It seems to be going quite well. I have left the event, but it was, all in all, quite a fun affair. (They have 4 more hours of bouzing left).

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus Kate, yeah. So much for not liking styled messy hair.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

A very good night. Pics - possibly including wet t-shirts - to follow tomorrow.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The horror.

Did anyone happen to pick up the yellow twee lunchbox thing? My life is noticeably less, er, twee without it.

cis (cis), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 07:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i fear i was in rather a mischievous mood last night. sorry about all the water. i'm not apologising for the ice cube though.

i woke up this morning with the phrase "william hague bukake" in my head. which is never good.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Toby that is SO WRONG I don't know where to begin. Unfortunately I can imagine exactly why you were saying that.

That was one of the all-time great FAPs, I think. Water pistols! Yo-yos! Weird helicopter spinny things!

I'm still drunk. I blame Kate and Colette for grabbing me off the street and making me go to some iniquitous Soho den and drink cocktails.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Cis, I have your twee box of cakes, by the way. I have no idea how it ended up in my bag. I'll bring it along to the next FAP.

Can I eat the rest of them, by the way?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt, are you perhaps asking cake permission after eating them?

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Not at all... actually I only discovered them just before leaving the house this morning. Otherwise I would've eaten them ;)

"Y'see, his name's Terry Waite, right, and he had to wait a long time to be released, and now he's put on loads of weight, DO YOU SEE???"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Cocking hell. My head was horrible when I woke up. Nothing to do with my new 'do though.

A riproaring success of an evening, but in future I would like to be reminded to have proper dinner when drinking solidly for 5 hours. Also someone to make me drink water when I get home. Maybe I need a butler.

I very much resented being classed as the archvillain of the animal water pistol episode - I did not in fact pop off the first shot. Who did shoot the Arch-Duke Ferdinand?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I blame Colette.

Franz Ferdinand (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Geez, I missed out on the rest of the festivites. Although there was much ROCK up at the barfly gig I went to, which is always nice.

Nice to see y'all again, albeit briefly. Kate, you had a very spiffy suit on. I was way too hot in mine. And we need more space at FAPs!

For those who think they can handle continued FAPping, I now cheekily refer you to...
South London FAP - March 20 / night of musical madness

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 09:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Update - epic ruin has now set in.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh a sneaky one, eh? Do you have painkillers, Matt? I'd offer you mine but you work about a mile away from me.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt you know what you have to do. DRINK MORE BEER.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I am eating hula hoops and drinking emergency Irn Bru. OMG. The Pinefox and I agreed about a television programme, possibly J. Creek or Midsomer Murders whilst I... oh god I've just remembered I went to McDonalds on the way home.

Argh.

Weep. Grate night, obv!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yes and Marianna's shoes = THE BOMB. I am so jealous.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish I had Irn Bru. All I have is Diet Vanilla Coke: good for soothing caffeine, less good for gooey glucose rush.

Marianna is the most stylish lady alive, I swear. The hat!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I ph34r this weekend may need to involve serious T-bar shoe shopping.

Cullens by Warren St has Irn Bru, and for that I love it forever (never mind they are charging 10p more than Budgens on Upper Street, this is an emergency).

Half chips half rice = mentalism.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

No no half&half = goodness.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Square sausages = double mentalism.

That reminds me...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

i woke up this morning with the phrase "william hague bukake" in my head. which is never good.

You have no idea how much this disturbs me. On so many levels. What exactly are you trying to say?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

um, I could venture a suggestion, but no

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Does anyone realise how profoundly disturbing it is to wake up next to someone, only to get to work and find them telling the internet they were actually thinking about William Hague bukake whilst you were lying next to them?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

BUT THEY ARE THE WRONG TYPES OF GREASE!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Different layers of grease. Num num num num.

I am glad my desire for Spain was not fulfilled and I went home. I am not ruinous, which is good.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i lied above! actually the bukake didn't occur to me til 9am. it was still early enough in the day to be painful though.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Ffion Hague bukkake?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

What about David Blunkett bukkake? See how long it takes him to work out what's actually going on...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

What have we done to Mark's beautiful birthday thread?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I am now Dave B's apprentice having left the pub early and only had ONE pint all evening. It occurred to me last night that I've been consuming alcohol on a moderate but steady basis for just over ten years now.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Blunkett's dog would notify him of the bukkake horror. One bark for yes, two barks for OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes different layers of grease is good, but rice grease is a very different beast to meat and potato grease!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't believe I am continuing this argument whilst supposedly sober - then again I can't believe you lot are talking about the OTHER thing whilst supposedly sober either :)

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

How long until someone actually Googles for 'William Hague bukkake', I wonder?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt - you are an evil genius. Blunkett Bukkake is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.

Hello Googlers! (daveb), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i am depressingly sober.

David Spunkett DYS (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

It was actually adapted from an earlier drunken discussion about Tony and Cherie getting it on REALLY QUIETLY with Blunkett in the room utterly oblivious. This is crueller though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't have been that ruinous, none of you were in the SPanish Bar when I got there...

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Pete, the ILX trip to a gay bar finally happened though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmm.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Starry, T-Bar shoes are SO my favourite thing in the world at the moment, aside from JC Chasez, obviously.

How fun was last night? SO MUCH FUN!

Marianna L, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I am very pleased at my escape from the Nip-Cam.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:07 (twenty-two years ago)

where did you go, matt? balans?

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Water pistols.

Dave's expression of child-like wonder pleases me.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, I mean Dave's drunken face pulling amuses me :)

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The candles are still alight in the above pictures. This would be before I shot them out with my deadeye water pistol skillz. Somebody shoot me now (but not with a water pistol).

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I apologise for my hair.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks...buoyant.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

No pics of my suit. Sigh.

OK, I was woken from my hangover this morning by an anonymous text message telling me that someone fancies me. WHICH ONE OF YOU FREAKING LOSERS IS HAVING A JOKE?!?!

God, I talk a lot of bollocks when drunk.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

My new shampoo provides extra volume innit

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you give some of that shampoo to Markelby for his birthday?

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

It turns your hair up to 11?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks for a great night y'all. Were there even more people than at the "most people ever" FAP of a few weeks ago?

(p.s. Kate, it's probably spam)

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm impressed that Matt DC managed to nick my T-shirt from my room last night and replace it excatly where it was this morning without disturbing me.

robster (robster), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Fucking hell YOU HAVE ONE AS WELL?!

How long before all five of us turn up wearing it at once?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha! MoogFAP!

robster (robster), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

GAY BAR! GAY BAR! GAY BAR!!!! (That is really hard to type, BTW.) WTF was I drinking? Fashionistas? Oh my god, those were good. That bartender is going to bear my children but I had to promise him my trust fund...

For once I think you can actually blame me for assassinating the duke. Did I fire the first shot? I think I did. My hand slipped and I shot my load at Stevem by 'mistake'. Ha-hem.

We need to figure out FAP Sonar and how to build bass-bins the size of houses to play The National Grid.

HA HA MOOGFAP!!! One of these days it will happen. MiniMOOGFAP!!!

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

And before I forget, I reiterate, NO, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I AM GOING TO WATCH DAWSON'S CREEK RERUNS NOT EVEN IF YOU BRIBE ME WITH STEVEM'S VIRTUE!!! even though Colette will probably never read this.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a Moog t-shirt in dark red.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Did I really pay six quid for a drink last night? I must have been drunk.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, I was woken from my hangover this morning by an anonymous text message telling me that someone fancies me.

similar thing happened to me after Friday (?!)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Were there even more people than at the "most people ever" FAP of a few weeks ago?

no way, but a highly respectable turnout for a Chowsday night nonetheless

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

That's bizarre. Maybe someone has a crush on BOTH OF US!!! Pervert!

(Or maybe this is a red herring to distract from the clue that it was actually YOU sending them!)

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

a bar dedicated to NAILING?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

update: woke up at 4am this morning in need of a wee and couldn't go back to bed til 7am. late for work. my glasses shows evidence of having been sprayed by water - possibly a result of shooting myself in the face (with the water pistol, not wee)

(the water pistol, not "the water pistol")

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

update2: a little ruinous but might get a hair of the dog guinness later yippie!

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

You loco, boy. Like all the C family.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

haha.. erm.. .i think in my drunken state last night i went to bed without going for a slash, and so ended up having to wake up at 4 for an emergency trip to the toilet, and then once i had my wee i couldn't sleep anymore (head was hurting quite a bit) until later in the morning!

which explains my inability to write coherently just now.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

did someone say NAILBAR?

i was watching friday's 'stenders on tape and, even though i hadn't seen harry hill on friday, i was still gigling at the whole NAILBAR storyline knowing it would make a large part of the show...

"...i thought it was a chemist..."

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, the person we thought was me is DAFFYD...

...are we sure this wasn't the picnic tom came to?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

That is the one Tom went to yes, my handd is on the very far left of the picture, it's the one not holding a gun

chris (chris), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought it was that one ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

MRS NELSON - best stenders extra ever

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

10 out of the 18 (known) people in that photo (and the photographer)are now regular ilx0rs...

..can we say that this was "the last great sinister picnic"?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Who is Mrs Nelson? I missed it last week.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

the last great sinister picnic, in london, i guess.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

that photo of the pinefox and steady mike is lovely.

mandee, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

by the by i think i have now gone around 15 FAPs undefeated* - in fact i can't remember the last time there was a FAP in London and I wasn't there...should we hang out the bunting?

* = not turning up to a FAP

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha the SOUTH EAST LONDON FAP Steve ;)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

But yeah, that was four months ago.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

the bar we went to last night was the lab bar. it had lovely cocktails and a lovely bartender that gave me a long spoon to eat all the cherries at the bottom of the glass. mmmm.

i don't know anything about these anonymous texts, but i'll admit to trying to bribe kate into watching dawson's creek with me and stevem.

it was good fun last night, i don't think i've played with water guns since i was a kid! woo!

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

the last time i got into a water gun fight, one person decided that they'd be funny and piss into their gun. :(

mandee, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

oh that crazy Ludacris!

i bet you're glad kate MADE you stay now eh Col? I CAN call you Col right? thanks. it took me an hour to get home which seemed a lot longer than usual.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a late afternoon creeping-phantom hangover, replacing my numb-dreamy state from a pre-bed diet of Ibuprofen (800mg), much water and a bag of bad chips. And tonight...another birthday party. Not Clare Grogan, though.

I saw Ed earlier, on Clipstone Street, wearing headphones and a smile.

Suggested captions for the 'lovely' photo of me and Pinefox should be sent on a postcard (or the back of a sealed envelope) to Elton Welsby, Kick Off, Granada TV, Oxford Road, Manchester MU3 5WB(A).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Stevem - you are not allowed to call Colette Col. It smacks of over familiarity.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Smacks of 'stenders too, P.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Does this mean that we can all call you Ste? Or even better St? Pronounced like "Stuh"?

Those drinks were gooooood. Cherries and all. Just wish they weren't so damned expensive! We should have gone to the Doghouse instead, two for one ice cream cocktails, mmmm.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I should have bought him the "I did Justin three times" t-shirt.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i love lab, although i can't afford it. my flatmate and i spent [insert obscene amount of cash] there a few weekends ago.

re the doghouse: is it even open at the moment?? i thought it was closed pending reopening as "suga suga"? also it's never had a late license, has it??

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

"Y'see, his name's Terry Waite, right, and he had to wait a long time to be released, and now he's put on loads of weight, DO YOU SEE???"

Matt, you didn't credit me with this!!

Amanda is at least half-right: Mike looks great in that picture, all glowing. (I don't.)

Caption: um... Mike is saying "No, I can't put any more delay on it -- I've put it all into Stevie's camera".

Elton Welsby, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

But Elton you have Clientele-levels of reverb on your image!

Caption: "But Paris St. Germaine are still one of the Great Clubs of Europe!"

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

(er, belatedly, Matt - cakes are all yours! Your reward for saving the twee box from abandonment. I hope you like 'em.)

cis (cis), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Haven't been to the Doghouse since last November. Only ever went there for our bassist's birthday parties and things like that, but man, those ice creams. Lab is lovely, but ouch, the bill hurts. I mean, it looks Freuds look affordable by comparison!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I've already eaten the cakes. I couldn't wait for permission. Sorry.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 March 2004 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a Darkness joke in there somewhere but I'm not going to be the one to make it!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Luckily your birthday meant you missed the appaling crowd trouble at the AFC game on Tuesday.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

get your hands off of my cakes, motherfucker.

i should get off the internet.

is this what Sinister was like?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

he has succumbed!

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Mooro, I have never seen Coxon's shoes. I am trying to work out why Mike would be asking that; or why I would be asking it of him. (Mike's shoes always seem very carefully selected to me.)

I was thinking about THE GREAT CLUBS OF EUROPE yesterday and PSG were precisely one of the names that I added to the list. (Other French members, maybe: Bordeaux, Marseille, possibly St Etienne.)

the bluefox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

What about Spurs?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

the winchester?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

did you make up your mind on Feyenoord?

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Tottenham are in.

I don't know enough about Feyenoord - I am taking your word for it, Cabbage.

I like RJG's thoughts. Or words.

the fourfox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

about feyenoord?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

far too much lenience with the definition of GREAT CLUBS OF EUROPE imo. if you're going to include Bordeaux then the list must consist of around a hundred teams. For me it's:

Real Madrid, Barcelona
Juventus, AC Milan, Internazionale
Bayern Munich
Liverpool, Man Utd
Ajax

and THAT'S IT

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe Benfica

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Feyenoord I was doubtful about to be honest.

There's more than that Steve - especially on The Lynx effect guy's list

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

is that what he's reading in that advert where the ladies' clothes keep coming undone?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

That's the feller

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Its great later in the ad when her top comes undone because the bloke suddenly gets erect and it has the effect of poking her eye out.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

damn, it's strange to only get like 10 minutes a day on the internet, since i'm sitting in a juice bar near my house tapping away.

i've never been called col, unless it's pronounced cole, in which case it didn't stick. lette worked much better.

i think it's funny that we actually say stevem, is the fact that we make his name extra long saying that we're under-familiar with him?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't want to play with your name like it's a toy, lette...

and it should be Mr Stevem, Keeper Of The Creek to you

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

You can keep shit creek. Last time I went up it someone nicked my paddle.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I aint even got a canoe :(

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

P F: are you a guitarist & songwriter, and are you in (a) Blur?

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i think really we're all looking for our own canoe in life

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i tend to barge my way through life instead

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

you silly punt

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I get the blur thing now.

Mooro's always making with the wordplay. He's the Robert Robinson of Rock; the Dotty Parker who's not Laura Llew.

the bellefox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw that Lynx ad again last night. My word, that guy really IS the Pinefox!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

but played by an actor

stevem (blueski), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

that ad has the most annoying song i've heard this decade on it

stevem (blueski), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)
