mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Why don't we list everything that's wrong with us? I have 2.25 hours to kill and need entertaining.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

not long enough for my sad list. you guys go on.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:41 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Or freakishly both?

Well I have that leg thing.

"I already did!"

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Fry rocks. I love Futurama, as Im sure I have said a bajillion times before. 4 DVD box sets, you'd think I'd be tired of it all by now... BUT NOOOO.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Bender's my favourite.

"We love you Bender honey!"
"Shut up baby, I know it"

"mind"

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd sooo be in for a FAP right about now.

Er, if I could leave work two hours early.

And if I had money.

And if I could walk.

Damn.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Hang on, so is this non walking thing fo real, also, is it permanent? Confused minds want to know.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Nah, it's been on-and-off since February.

I've got mentalist feet and my new orthotic soles have fuxored them, so until I get them fixed up I'm a bit immobile.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 03:59 (twenty-one years ago)

FAP at yaks place!!!!!!!

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Adam, you truly are a male me, its scary (I wear orthotics as well). So can you like not walk at all? :/ I mean, wheelchair/crutches or something?

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I am being laughed at for singing all the words to the passions theme song. Is that so wrong?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

the laughing or the singing? :P

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't even know anymore.

My head feels woooooooooooozzzzzeeeeeee

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I killed it again didn't I?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:22 (twenty-one years ago)

no everyone's off watching passions

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Remember The Passions? 'I'm In Love With A German Film Star'?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Am I the only person in the world who hasn't seen Passions?

So can you like not walk at all? :/ I mean, wheelchair/crutches or something?

Most days I can walk but it hurts like hell. Yesterday and today I've been getting about balancing on my heels, and apart from looking like a spazmo, it kills.

Once I get the new orthotics fixed up I should be fine, but they've already been adjusted 2398542395423 times and they're still useless.

I'm not sure what good crutches would do because it's both feet, and I hope it doesn't land me in a wheelchair because I live upstairs and work in a stupid cubicle.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn that sucks :( I can sympathise, Ive worn orthotics since I was a teen but for the most part I'm fine, I just cant stand up for long periods (which makes gigging a royal pain, standing on concrete for more than half an hour and I'm in agony). Mostly just achy legs if I dont wear mine tho, and well, I walk like a retarded duck thanks to my leg alignment but everyone tells me "oh it isnt noticeable at all Trayce" which is bollox.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't notice the other night Trayce, probably because I was more worried about my own feet I blistered up during James' shopping trip to end all shopping trips at Southland.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Me too, although my legs are aligned okay [no retarded duck!]. Usually I still walk a bit stiffly though.

The last orthotics were fine for several years, but the outsides wore down and caused incredible pain in my ankles and feet. Leg pressing at the gym is what really tipped them over the edge, putting loads of weight on bent ankles. As a consequence I've been to the gym three times in the last two months, and my weights are starting to reduce.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:40 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I should bring Rach to this discussion - she has steel pins in her feet.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Oooh :(

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, her feet hurt a lot. They were poorly inserted too - they stick out on the surface of the skin.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh god, yr kidding! I'll never complain about sore feet again :/

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:57 (twenty-one years ago)

On the contrary! You should swap some horror stories while we're in Melbourne.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 3 May 2004 04:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Eeek! Why steel pins? What's wrong with her feet?

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 3 May 2004 05:00 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, I just heard that Vanessa Amorosi is building fences for a living these days. I almost feel sorry for her.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 05:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Funny you should mention her! I should get N1ck to tell his van3ssa amaros1 stories. Something about working in the same bldg as her or... something.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 05:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently there was a big article in the paper up here about her. Strange. According to the highly-reputable (heh) Courier Mail she's caught up in some kind of legal entanglements with her record label or something.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 3 May 2004 05:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i always worried about her being a little too into her animals

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 3 May 2004 05:17 (twenty-one years ago)

The bones were growing buckled and bent when she was a kid - she couldn't walk - they're arthritic. The pins are to straighten them.

It's going to be so weird meeting you all. I mean, it was weird meeting gaz. But gaz is of course quite weird anyway.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 02:56 (twenty-one years ago)

col is of course very weird as he and i have met on several occasions in the past. i have even been to his dads house. i have done a jjj livetoair with him.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

You came to my dad's house? Did you ever meet him?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:01 (twenty-one years ago)

somewhere between B*ndi junktion and the top of paddo? if i did meet him i don't remember. there were adults there i think.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I have no memory of meeting gaz before the Whitehouse gig a few weeks ago, and apparently we even played together on one occasion! That should tell you something about my state of mind back then.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds like my state of mind all the damn time ;/

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

we played together on loads of occasions col! we rehearsed together at gavs and miriams and a rehearsal studio in newtown too. haha you and gav were potheads in extremis.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

what that? can you tell us while he's not here?

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha.. its not what you think at all. Something totally out of context he said on another thread this one time ;)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

jim - MK goes acoustic and the songs sound better? So it's the dumb ass packaging that lets him down?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, what? Are you talking about M*ndy K4ne? Who saw him where what why? *confused*

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm referring to a discussion on M0no which jim posted on a few minutes ago.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:44 (twenty-one years ago)

no no they were talking about him playing at 161 (aka coolsie central) but i don't see it happening somehow

i still find it staggering that his $700K album has sold less than 1500 copies.

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, staggering is the word.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 03:55 (twenty-one years ago)

it would have made more sense to record the album on a dictaphone and pay 35,000 people $20 to buy it

My mate neef had to meet his g/fs nephew last week for some kiddie party, but we had work drinks beforehand. I told him he should get smashed and then tell the kid about the old country. Ahh the songs, they'd meltcher face.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 05:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahaha. Their album was called 'It's Never Easy Being Cheesy'! Sadly, it appears they've not released anything since their Xmas single in 2003, nor have they updated their site. Worst of all, they've taken down the forum. Sheesh. So I'm back here.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 05:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Bernard: Old wine is good wine.
Manny: Yes. But expensive wine is good wine also.
Bernard: Yes. But the older the wine is, the gooder it is.
Manny: Ah but by the same token, the more expensive the wine, then the gooder it is also.
Bernard: (looking at the wine) Look at the colours.
Manny: Yeah.
Bernard: All the colours. Well... yellow.
Manny: This is like... a... a farmyard... of wine.
Bernard: It's like looking into the eye of a duck.
Manny: And sucking all the fluid from its beak.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Have you read his biography? Weird, badly written, very hard work. It's all in the third person, in classic denial style. The effect is bleak.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU READING HIS BIOGRAPHY COL?

morning all.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

morning.

Rach loves him. I got his bio out of the library as a special treat for her. She said she'd leave me in a shot if it came to a choice between me and him, but since she read the bio she hasn't said it at all. I seem to have conquered that particular rival in her heart's affection. That leaves just one more: Valentino Rossi. *gulp*

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm eating Krispy Kreme donuts. Am I missing something? I heard they were heaven, but they're just dull-normal donuts to me. Maybe it's all about getting them really fresh. Or maybe it's just the delicious sounding name.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmmmmmm.........donuts

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

how old are the ones you have col?

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

2-3 days. I think I have my answer.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

donuts are definitely a 0-day experience

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

When the Krispy Kreme opened in the French Quarter, the folks working there were actually telling people, as they ordered, "These don't keep, eat them today."

(They keep better than beignets, though.)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

mea culpa.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

So theyre just normal doughnuts then? I thought KK's were some kind of special goo filled thing.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe the goo sets into normal donut after 2-3 days?

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean why the "kreme" in the title if theres NO CREAM? WTF

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce, it's like you can read my mind.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

kreme is the US term for donut dough

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Hm, I'm not at all sure what differences there might be between there and here, donut-wise -- either for Krispy Kreme or donuts in general. Here, they're mostly just normal donuts, although the ones they're most known for are unfilled glazed donuts that are very airy and light. Those pretty much need to be eaten still-warm -- the sheer fat content gets noticeable way too quickly. And all their donuts use dough conditioners that keep them softer than Dunkin Donuts or most other donuts, especially when they're fresh. (And probably contribute to the downfall of the flavor when they're not fresh, which is why other folks don't use em.)

(I have no idea what the hell's up with the "kreme." They're a regional chain that's been expanding for the last few years, so I've only had Krispy Kreme myself over the last 2 years or so.)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Aha, supposedly they're called "Krispy Kreme" because they're crispier than the average donut and "creamier" than the average donut, i.e. softer (presumably it's the dough that's "creamier," since it's not like you can pour the donut).

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Didn't mean to toss my donuts all over the thread, btw :)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh.

I dont like glazed (if by that you mean has icing on top) donuts anyway. I like soft fresh donuts with cinnamon and sugar all over 'em. Like the kind you get at the markets, along with those fried twist/funnel cake type things.

I dont eat such stuff much though. I totally have to review my diet - I've hit the mid 30's spreading gut thing in the last 12-18 months after years of "hey I can eat what I like!" and it is pissing me off. I am planning on buying an exercise bike and some 5kg dumbells, and doing some home exercise with that, plus cutting out eating ANY hot chips, or food with cream in it for dinner (I have a weakness for creamy chicken dishes and pasta with loads of cheese).

I dont need to go on an actual "diet" but I do gotta start watching it, or I'm going to get not just blobby but very unfit, and as a smoker and drinker I gotta be careful.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

The company was perhaps started by a Mr Kreme?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

haha. "Super dooper cheap and reliable home loans" started by Mr Sooperdooper and Mr Reliable.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I dont like glazed (if by that you mean has icing on top) donuts anyway.

Pretty much, yeah -- the clear, semi-sticky kind, thin layer, as opposed to like white icing you'd use on a cake or something.

I currently live somewhere with no donuts -- not fresh, anyway, no chains and the grocery stores appear to buy them from mysterious faceless "distributors" -- and I suppose in a way I'm glad, now that I'm used to it, that I broke that habit.

Mr Coca and Mr Pepsi, of course, were next-door neighbors who used to try to one up each other at everything, from frog-gigging to sack races to the bulk production and worldwide distribution of bottled cola beverages.

(Although since I didn't have a car, it's not like I was hitting the drive-through every day before, either.)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

That parenthetical ended up strangely displaced.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Sue-Ellen Krispy and Hank Kreme started our company in 1872...

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

So, I was thinking of a drink after work, as I have MONEY again now!

Anyone interested at all?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm financially out of action for 3 weeks or so :( my going out is restricted to this friday's OHY launch and next fridays c2000 gig. luckily i have 9 bottles of red wine at home

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 00:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahh bums. Thats cool... I have a lot of home things I really should be doing anyway - the place looks like a bomb hit it, even more than usual. I have badly lost the plot lately. I've been tired and depressed and I've let my house go to the dogs (or the cat, in this case)

God I suck :(

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 01:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, I cant follow that site's suggestions, as apparently only women with children suffer from mess and organisation issues. The rest of us should JUST COPE DAMMIT.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 01:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I must have posted that link half a dozen times on ILE and until Trayce called me on it, it's always been ignored.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 01:18 (twenty-one years ago)

pretty fly for a lady

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Col - hah! When you posted it t'other day I thought you'd done so in seriousness, so when I read the site I was thinking "WTF is Col on?"

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey some people really need sites like that...disorganised people like me :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I read it with a kind of ghoulish fascination, Trayce. At one point she says, 'I used to be a perfectionist...'! One can only imagine.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Some of the tips on the site actually made some good sense, for sure. But the Martha Stuart on PCP thing was ERUGHRRGH *vom*

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I am considering investing in some of their merchandise - esp the purple cleaning fairy.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm just too lazy.

If I actually bother to do something like clean the bathroom I see it as an excuse to do nothing else for the rest of the week.

Why o why can't I be responsible?!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I am pathetic :(

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:22 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh speaking of hired help... once I really did get seriously depressed and freaked out about my life as I was living alone and some shit had gone down (the N*lini thing maybe?). I whined about it on LJ and next thing I know, a bunch of my friends declare theyre coming over to totally spring clean my house. Oh my gawd. They did a shithot job too.

But, like that episode of Black Books, the place was back to crap within a week heh. This just means that as well as cleaning I need to ORGANISE my sheeit. I am a hoarder.

WTF am I talking about cleaning for? Oh god Im so boring.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:29 (twenty-one years ago)

what about the rearrangment plans Trayce?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I have seen some fione splattergore of lately. First, there is, You Will Die By Your Own Boot, by Ulf Bogenhammer of course, which is dark, dark, political satire perhaps? Then also of course there is Mash Up The Undead by Lars Triage.

I too have seen this group Threadkiller. To me, they are young with good ideas that maybe will come to fruition soon. They are somewhat loose once they move up to the 350 bpm mark perhaps.

Janne Karlsson, Wednesday, 5 May 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

no, really.
i don't trust non aussies or nzers with this.

(Janne, did Colin wear the leather when you saw Threadkiller?)

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 04:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I just told R. She said in a flat voice, 'That's good. We don't even have twenty bucks.'

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

bids start at $1! you could be lucky. i'm not gonna give away the secret on ilx though. email me if you want the skinny!!

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

OK. I might just do that.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

well, it's friday

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 6 May 2004 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm concerned the mongrels and sheepfookers thread concept is fading away

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 6 May 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Its just too hard to keep up with everything! I was sick as a pike yesterday and now today I'll be flat out catching up with the work I was already behind on anyway. Gah. AND it is pissing with rain.

Ohwell off to work for me...

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 May 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

you're not at work yet?!

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 6 May 2004 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

the quietness of this thread makes me sad

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

was it something i said?

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I dont start work til 10! :) I never leave before about 9.15, tho this morning I got a tacksi cos it was raining.

Yeah you smell, smelly ;P

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:34 (twenty-one years ago)

beep beep fizuckers. just in.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:35 (twenty-one years ago)

me too.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:46 (twenty-one years ago)

hangover?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

jeez. i have a whole bottle of red and i'm still at work by 8.15

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:52 (twenty-one years ago)

lightweights you are

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm just on the late shift. do you mind if i call you 'the'? its what i call mr edge.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah but Jim, how are you after a bottle of red? Are you just woolyheaded and tired? God almightly I wish thats all a hangover was for me.

You know why I was sick y'day? I had a curry for lunch, and then 4 - count 'em, only 4 - glasses of white wine WITH SODA, and I the next morning I was vomiting and had a migraine and wasn't better til about 2pm

I'd LOVE to just have a bit of a heachache and a dry mouth after a bottle of wine :(

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh I should explain - the curry + wine meant I had a nasty allergic reaction, hence the sick. Course, no one understands this and says "haha hang over" so I always lie about why Im ill, because I cant be fucked dealing with cocks at work taking the piss.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 00:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i understand that. i prefer my cocks to dispense the piss

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:00 (twenty-one years ago)

oh my god how unnecessary was that

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha you're a white wine spritzer girl?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahah Jim ;P

Col - I am but its not like some diet thing or anything lam0r like that. I just try and drink wine dilute so I dont react to it so much, and Ive gotten used to drinking it that way. I find a strong chardonnay too much on its own anymore! Silly really.

You'd think I'd just drink something less harsh eh ;) But I like my wine, and strangely a lot of bars dont serve cider (and I dont like beer).

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:04 (twenty-one years ago)

spirits surely

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, tho after one o2 two g n t's or whatever I'm all "blerch over this now". I cant get into straight shots (eg vodka) and everything you mix spirits with renders the drink like a soft drink or fruit juice - I'm not a fan of sweet drinks. Its a strange conundrum.

Eh fuggit no it isnt - I'm just bloody fussy.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:12 (twenty-one years ago)

YOU DON'T LIKE BEER??

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

No! I've tried, believe me I have tried to like it - but it just hasnt happened.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

sweet?! vodka lime and soda surely

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm over gin

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't like beer either. It's vodka or red wine for me baby.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 01:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Vodka lime and soda might be more drinkable, but lime cordial still has sugar in it...

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

bloody marys?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

you could always go without

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i keep looking at that sentence jim, but it doesn't seem to make sense

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

*snort* ;) Go without, hyeah. ;)

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

thought so

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

But seriously. I do like my wine. And I'm not full on "allergic" to it, in that its deadly or anythign suchlike - its one of those intolerance things. So if I have 2 or 3 glasses every now and then I'm pretty ok, but if Ive had a week of cheap wine, and curries and other things that trigger my reactions, it builds up and BLAM , spew city.

Its also possinble I have a dodgy pancreas, cuz I'm always puking bile. Meh, I'm probably riddled with tumours or something.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

OK Adam, I'm confused ... why the Chopper pic?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Jumping music, slick deejays, fog machines and laser rays

Chorus:
Lookout weekend cause, here I come
Because weekends were, made for fun
Repeat (1x)

I work hard, everyday, its all work and no play
With the boss on my back, he don't give me any slack
I sit down, I daydream of how my weekends gonna be

Chorus (1x)

By the time wednesday comes, I feel the beat and I wanna have fun

Chorus

All you ladies, clap your hands, stomp your feet and grab your man

Chorus

Okay men, its your time, show the ladies whats on your minds

Chorus

Jumping music, slick deejays, fog machines and laser rays

Chorus

I work hard everyday, its all work and no play
With the boss on my back, he don't give me any slack
I sit down I day dream of how my weekends gonna be

Chorus

Jumping music, slick deejays, fog machines and laser rays

Chorus (2x)

Lookout weekend cause...
Because weekends were...

Well yes. One of THE great themes of popular music.

Hey jim - is it done to post in Discussions on Mono about gigs, or is there another special listings place I haven't found?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:19 (twenty-one years ago)

discussions and/or the news section

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)

hey trayce/&c, d'y'know if the q&a nite @ the builders arms is any good?

etc, Friday, 7 May 2004 04:23 (twenty-one years ago)

go into your artist, and you can edit 'artist news' which then goes on the front page. it's probably easier though to start a discussion and bump it every couple of days

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't been to Q&A in yonks but it's always packed to the gunnels

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

has anyone evah done a good cover of "friday on my mind"?

hey jim our (one practise then one gig) band is supporting the c00lies & d1e! d1e d1e! in a month! haha fuck! we might be forced to cover "schizo revolution" (tho I always end up singing "disco hit" instead of "cosmic fix").

etc, Friday, 7 May 2004 04:27 (twenty-one years ago)

is the music any good? or is it PLACEBO and TOOL and so on?

etc, Friday, 7 May 2004 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

are you playing at builders?

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Q&A is indie for the lovely gay boys and girls. i would guess that it would be more britpop and 80s than heavy goth stuff, but as i said it's been a good two years since i was last there

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I was gonna say, an acquaintance of mine Richard Watts used to DJ there, maybe still does? I got the impression it was a 161 for the coolsie gay set. I'v never been. Is it still going, then?

If yr after new wave/goth instead youre best probably trying Cabaret Nocturne at Dream on Fridees.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Cabaret Nocturne... Who would've guessed it would be New Wave/Goth with a name like that?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:47 (twenty-one years ago)

jim as Chopper Reid:

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Friday, 7 May 2004 05:00 (twenty-one years ago)

161? a friend who's relocated emailed me & she reckoned that it'd be quite fun; not quite indie-disco but close enough (haha the auckland queer indie scene who dance = six ppl?)

anyway, gotta get outta work & get ready to STEAL BOOZE at a party. more booze to steal earlier, but it'll be easier to steal later when everybody's drunk. dilemma, dilemma . . .

etc, Friday, 7 May 2004 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 7 May 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

stevie k why do you apparently not want anyone to be able to google-find the coolies & that other band, WHY! sorry i've hassled you about that before but you should stop doing that!
man i got fuckin beat the fuck up last night by one of my many fans, it was just before we played & my hand was all fucked up from getting kicked & it hurts like shit but i got up & played anyway, i am very proud of myself. getting beat up before you play is cool actually, in fact i recommend it to all rock bands.
& etc - to you again do you like that band mestar? you do don't you. man you have some wacky taste! oh well! it takes all sorts! yeah that was who we were playing with anyway...i couldn't really detect anything interesting about their music but they seem very nice.

duane, Friday, 7 May 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

the guy who assaulted me(/my sister/some other people too) last night - his name is lawrence kennett, i don't guess he'll do a google search for his name ever but who knows

duane, Friday, 7 May 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i have a totally badass black eye, i wish i had a webcam for yez

duane, Friday, 7 May 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

oh gross sorry i am being all macho dude about this thing, sorry. um i was doing it ironically or something ok

Wow no duane for months, then wham!!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Hope you're not too stiff and sore this morning. Playing after being kicked in is rock and roll par excellence.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks for the kind words mully. Sad to say, M's album is going v...e...r...y... slowly. Neither of us have much time. But we have done one and a half songs. And I'm looking forward to the one about her dog Mona, it's cute in an early 60's reggae style.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

God help me, Magic Dirt's on the radio and I'm really enjoying it.

COME ON, I"LL HAVE YOU. WHO'S FIRST??? Not Duane, obv.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 7 May 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

hey duane i like mestar and i'm not wacky. they gave me a copy of their 8". did you notice that ian (the mestar drummer) was doing a great job trying to restrain lawrence? how is your hand and accompanying shiner today?

oh hi everybody! i've had about three hours sleep!!

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 8 May 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 00:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd have to have one first :(

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

how was last night? did you get beaten up too?

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 00:58 (twenty-one years ago)

no, it was quite good, smoked too many cigs but had a decent time i guess. i'm worried about the sound system at the venue though. colin (or his entourage) needs to bring as much additional gear as can be carried

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 01:00 (twenty-one years ago)

well maybe an exaggeration

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 01:00 (twenty-one years ago)

his entourage?????

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 01:04 (twenty-one years ago)

That would be colin and his many little subpersonalities. Princess carries nothing except her handbag. Princess has a beer while colin and his imaginary roadies set up.

Sadly, Jim, I'm putting everything thru the PA, and have no other options I can afford. Should I be afraid?

Our flatmate is polishing a saddle and a bit, in the nude, for one of her performances.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:15 (twenty-one years ago)

wow. why in the nude?

i just dug up a tree stump. it was hard work.

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:21 (twenty-one years ago)

In the last 3 weeks you've knocked a whole in a wall, dug up a tree stump, and got drunk on four occasions. I dub you: mully the man!

She's always nude, as our we all. Our house is a nudist camp.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:23 (twenty-one years ago)

my god, why has my spelling gone so phonetic all of a sudden/ I must have just had a stroke or something. I don't smell oranges or burnt rubber though...

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i knocked the whole wall down col. drunk on four occasions?

you weren't nude when i was there :-(

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:25 (twenty-one years ago)

We put on clothes for visitors, unless we're surprised.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:27 (twenty-one years ago)

peters goatee wasn't surprising enough?

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it a swinger's goatee?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:31 (twenty-one years ago)

until he opens his mouth it is.

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:32 (twenty-one years ago)

no, no need to be afraid, just prepared. considering you're not using live drums and there's only one vocal (i assume) you'll be fine.

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:33 (twenty-one years ago)

That's right. OK then. We have some hum of our own to add to what I'm told is the PA's natural hum.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:34 (twenty-one years ago)

SJ and the neighbour Toby are playing in a tent in the garden, setting up house with some pots and pans. SJ is going, "Honey, I want you to put the cushion here. Did you hear what I said, honey?".

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

My south sydneys are on sequencer backing - but R is trying to talk me into doing them live. Maybe not this time.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

oh go on! if you need a guest harmonist...

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:47 (twenty-one years ago)

You're on - but R says you can only do it as long as you dress up in black rimmed glasses, tie, and bring a copy of The Financial Review.

You want my advice? Don't do it unless you want to be humiliated by her on stage.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 05:49 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

At some point I will be menaced in a restaurant with a huge bowl of pasta or maybe a big lobster, half-eaten, in front of me. I will have a napkin tucked into my shirt. I will be sweating, nervous. I am being threatened - by the Sheepfuxors - for not coming up with the goods. They say they will ram a sheep up me - and make me listen to the entire Flying Nun catalog.

I will talk my way out of it - on this occasion - but I am aware my days are numbered. That's when I call Crazy Cat and Nutcase. I am rich, I can pay them - and they've been written off by the underworld anyway - Crazy Cat is too eccentric (though a genius with PA systems) and Nutcase is too violent (he knocks down walls! And pulls up tree stumps! As a side comic relief, he is also a bit shy). We figure out the following bizarre scheme...:

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm arguing for severe violent retribution but col and Crazy are private school educated and want a more sophisticated scheme. We decide to set R up as bait (hahaha how little they'll suspect) for Duane "blackeyes" Doorag. i am more than slightly embarrassed when she argues she must be naked...

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:35 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a class thing going on constantly in the mongrel gang - a sort of backdrop theme if you like - that creates fertile tension between the three of us. For example, when we hatch the scheme in a rather swish restaurant, and mully orders a deep fried chip butty, causing much eye rolling from me and crazy, he launches into an impassioned speech about class and privilege that stuns us to silence and reinforces his position in the gang.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:42 (twenty-one years ago)

crazy sips his red wine and looks on

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:45 (twenty-one years ago)

meanwhile Sami slips into the aircrafts miniscule toilet cubicle to check the heroin secreted in the crotch pouch - specially designed by dipsofactor - of his leathers. finding it a bit damp he sighs and, thinking of the remainder of the flight sat next to that buffoon Janne and his endless opinions on True Metal Philosophy, cuts himself a generous line.

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:47 (twenty-one years ago)

another comic theme - whenever a band plays in the background while we're hatching one of our many complex plans, Crazy gets up and sings with them, derailing the whole plotting process.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I am some kind of cameo on plane to Helsinki, yes? Climax of movie happens in and around Dominaktor gig. Now we have movie soundtrack possibility.

janne karlsson (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Crazy is then thrown out for biting the wine bar chantuese's buttocks. col and nutcase decide this is an affront to the gang and torch the place. it is housed in an old church.

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Where of course Dominaktor rehearse. We now desire revenge - but on who? We have no knowledge, yet wish to find out. And so are we suddenly involved.

Janne Karlsson (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 06:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i say we pitch it to s bee s I. they are looking for real crap now. i see gary oldman as crazy, dennis hopper as col and benny hill as mully.

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:01 (twenty-one years ago)

We need to cast the Sheepfuxors.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:02 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce is possibly a computer whiz. Her nickname is Tartan.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Alright. So we still have a problem - if this ends in a dance-off with the NZ gang, it looks like Di holds all the aces. Who's going to win against Di in a dance-off? No-one.

We need some treachery, somehow we need to rig the whole thing.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:19 (twenty-one years ago)

somehow, someway the australians have become by far the funniest ilxors

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Rach is maybe Di's equal in the dance-off. What she lacks in grace, she makes up for in sheer physical stamina and violence.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:24 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 8 May 2004 07:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Excelsior.

I am TARTINATOR! Erm, as in tartan, not tart. Though well, hey, tart works too.

I'll be the clever, geeky yet vaguely cute hax0r chick who cracks security systems and pokes vaguely at keyboards a lot while wearing a headset mic. I never actually do any cool fighting or shit - I'm too smart for that, hahar.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 9 May 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:33 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

jim you were in my dream last night! i was watching an old film and there you were in the band scene playing the saxophone and i kept rewinding to make sure. you were bopping around and looking like a jazz hipster.

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

And was he?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i saw a melbourne band called the stabs on saturday night. i asked them if they were coolsies and they were unfamiliar with the term. i enjoyed their music a lot but their stage antics were stupid. oooh having a fight and smashing a guitar, i've never seen a rock band do that before.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 9 May 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

But but but Di, they had to let their Angst and Passion out, so they could fulfil the Artistic Dream.

Hi Ipso!

I saw Barnsey and Chisel smash up a gtr and amp once, on telly.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 9 May 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

wow. did they all get into it? was it mossie's? had they been arguing and barnsey grabs mossie's guitar and wrenches it from his neck and walker fucking loses it and starts yelling at mossie too and they start smashing the guitar together? and then the drummer sticks mossie's head through the amp?

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Didn't Daniel Johns injure himself trying to put his head through a drumkit one time? That would've been amusing to watch.

it wouldn't have fit.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Sunday, 9 May 2004 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 9 May 2004 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes. Absolutely. I thought exactly the same thing.

The other day Molly Meldrum admitted his 100th Countdown show performance [or lack thereof] was due to mogadon, secretively administered by a shemale.

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I am going to kill my neighbours, slowly, with a hand drill. Their balcony is right up against my fucking bedroom window and the cunts always go out there at some point on sunday nights and TALK REALLY LOUDLY. Usually after 1am. They did this again last night, out there at 3am, thankfully it must have been too cold so they only blabbed for 20 mins or so instead of til 9am like that one time.

I have serious sleep dep, and I get very angry and disoriented when I havent had sleep. Today is NOT gonna be fun.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha for the people I work with probably =)

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:47 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I was wondering but I hadn't let on till now.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Fallen asleep? I wish... funnily enough I was doing my work ;) Or doing some panicking - theyve totally fucked up our new email migration, nothing works, they "forgot" to send the staff who this is affecting the instruction email last friday, and everyone now logs in with the same pwd which none of us can change cos they stuffed it up.

COCKHEADS.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I think trayce is oblivious to our wonderment.

I'm in wonder at her obliviousness.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:46 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

sounds awfully dull.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:48 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe they talk about killing people in drug deals

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

now that sounds more exciting!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe they stand out there wondering WHAT THE FUCK TRAYCE IS UP TO.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:52 (twenty-one years ago)

or devising ways to irritate her and disrupt her sleeping patterns

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 10 May 2004 00:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh wait, was that talking question aimed at me? Haha sorry I didnt realise (told you I was tired). I have no effin idea what they were talking about, I was too out of it and trying to sleep. Previous times though it's just been typical yuppie wanking on about crap music or whatever. Nothing even remotely interesting. These are the kind of people who have women friends over who walk up and down the footrpath outside my window in heels that go CLOK CLOK CLOK late at night, and all decide to gather outside babbling at full voilume ar 4am on a sunday while they wait for a taxi to go to Heat.

Speaking of i'm going to a food not bombs rally on thursday and I'm still trying to figure out why.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 10 May 2004 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Because food keeps people alive whereas bombs kill them.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 10 May 2004 01:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, I guess that could be it, however I'm of the opinion that we could afford to lose about 80% of the worlds population because most people are a complete waste of space.

could be. I don't know if anyone has ever tried it.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 10 May 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

You'd have to lick them a bit first though so they stick.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 10 May 2004 02:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll bet.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 10 May 2004 02:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Middleclass issues that will get Gaz's shoulder chip growing in size:

1. The price of hardback books these days!
2. The price of imported wines!
3. No tax breaks for the $80,000-100,000 bracket!
4. No parking for 4WD's in the city!
5. When is the State Library going to be renovated?
6. Rugby Union: not enough coverage!
7. Import duties for Italian leather are prohibitively expensive!
8. Riff raff coming through the city for events at the Showground are spoiling our weekends!
9. Why can't I wash my car and water the garden during a drought? Those are Armenian pasque flowers and they cost me a packet!!
10. Aircraft noise - I'm sick of reading about other people suffering it!

4. Trains be crashing!
5. When is the s*s library going to be closed?
6. Footy show: not often enough !
7. Import duties for Italian leather are not fucking prohibitively expensive enough!
8. Can't afford the train much less an event at the Showground

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 10 May 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yet again I've had less sleep than I'd prefer. This isnt fair. I do not function on tiredness!

I went home last night and had theeee most relaxing nite ever, didnt touch a cig or glass of anything, had a nice hot soup, rested, and went to bed at a good hour.

...and then Nick never came home. I kept waking up watching the clock and by 3am I was a bit hysterical cuz his phone was off, I was thinking surely he cant still be at work?

He was :( I ended up having to get up and log onto effing MSN to find out, and more or less throw a panicky tantrum to get him to flippin well come home. I mean love yer job, boy, but ferfucksake.

I have... issues when it comes to partners not being home yet when its late and I'm already in bed. Long story. Last night just made me realise all that shit's still stinkin' up my head.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 10 May 2004 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Bit of both I think... ie, he feels obliged to stay when someone *else* has things to finish but needs him around to adjust code or whatevs. Which'd be fine if he actually got paid *anything* like deserving of the hours he worked, mutter grump.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 10 May 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

its funny how employees are expected to work beyond agreed hours and you are considered non-committed or a slacker or whatever if you don't, but employers are not considered non committed slackers if the don't pay you for it.

Also, he used the phrase "sweat the infrastructure" about 15 times, and I felt like I was in a Dilbert cartoon.

we were on the drive up to tamworth. its like 5 1/2 hours with the kids so we stopped to buy some fries for them half way there. it took half an hour! after waiting 15 mins in a cue and then being shunted around for another 10 waiting for tomato sauce i snapped, thumped the counter with my fist, screamed i'd been waiting for 20 mins and demanded sauce for our now cold and soggy fries. the kids were already frazzled and crying.

a middle aged fuckwit still waiting in the queue turned and said "no you haven't" and i lost it completely.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ick. work. pretty soon i'm going to have to do that whole work thing again.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 07:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm listening to rare recordings of Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd, given to me by my supervisor at work Tony. 'Scream Thy Last Scream' currently playing. I mean, wow, fantastic, what a song. The Legendary Pink Dots were listening closely to that one, don't you think, gaz?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

ignore me tad, i'm just paranoid. and my hatred of belle and sebastien is even stronger! a few months ago duane made me listen to them on the way home from christchurch. they made me feel carsick.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't been to mcdonalds for about 8 years.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

they make me feel carsick even when i'm not in a car Di.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

would i know col? the only early floyd i've heard is meddle and that would have been in 1979. it is a bit LPD-ish yeah i think maybe.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i've never heard any LPD but i love syd and syd-era PF

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

fey but *slightly* deranged male vocals over psychedelic pop prog.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

yeahhh

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

lpd have a sinister edge though. and more keyboards.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Its kinda weird LPD have that sound, considering theyre somehow linked with Skinny Puppy and everything.

Hey whats going on tomorrow? Times, location etc? I totally dont know whats happening except "its at Pony". Which I dont even remember where it is.

I will also quite literally be forcing myself to go, because I'm so exhausted and unwell right now that I'd really rather go home to bed after work every night, but hey we planned this ages ago :( Cant let the side down.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

pleeeeaaaze someone take a camera.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Col - I have another friend who's expressed interest in the gig as it happens, so I'll pass the details to her too, she likes a spot of techno and noise and whatnot.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:24 (twenty-one years ago)

(I have posted ver gig details in me LJ, there's a few people I know wot might find it of interest)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Attencione! A friend of mine just asked me this:

"Do you have any resources or contact details for this conglomerate? My girl is in a rockin' new all-girl band, playing their second gig this weekend, and I'm sure they'd love to get in touch with these Tryke characters."

Col?

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 13 May 2004 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

It transpires one of my workmates also knew abt this gig cos he knows the people in the Amazons, who are apprently not playing anymore? Also, info has been passed to said person interested etc.

My lunch has made me feel ill. I may go home a bit early today. Fscking allergies.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:37 (twenty-one years ago)

every time i see "amazons" i think "androids" for some inexplicable reason

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:41 (twenty-one years ago)

behold I AM EISCAR

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Everytime I see Amazons I think of women with only one breast.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it were the viking ladies wot cut breasts of to scare the menfolk, or maybe im very confused.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

apparently, amazonian women cut off one so they could shoot arrows without their tits getting in the way*

*this is probably a myth.....and to think i meant to be teaching social science in a couple of years :))

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i never heard that part of the amazon/viking myth ... that's fucked up

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 13 May 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

this is rather like being at the pub only without drinks of course.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

speak for yourself!

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

*ssssip*

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

That's like Prince Albert piercing his willy so he could strap it to his leg whilst riding a horse. Silly bugger should have strapped it to a nubile young maiden instead.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

is that true? did he ride naked? imagine if he fell off!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:09 (twenty-one years ago)

crunch!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Strapped to his leg, not the horse's. :)

Although... that gives me an idea. Wait there.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 13 May 2004 04:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I've heard Ipso's version of the myth too.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:00 (twenty-one years ago)

yay! Maybe it's not made up!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Found some more info on this site: http://www.fjkluth.com/amaz2.html

Question: I heard that amazon women used to burn off one of their breasts in order to fire a bown and arrow. Is this true? Is it?

Answer: The Greeks told this story as true, but I doubt it. This story just made Amazons out to be what the Greeks thought, monsters. Real Amazons may have bound their breasts so they would not interfere with the bow-string. The psychology of the story needs to be considered. Was this story helpful in repressing women, or did it glorify them? Many of the stories about Amazons were merely sex inversions and not productive. When you cut off your breasts, does this make you into a man? When you cut off your penis does this make you into a women? Freud thought women had feelings of inferiority because they had penis envy. Do men have feelings of inferiority because they have breast envy?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:06 (twenty-one years ago)

i know i do

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

But I thought you said had breasts? Was that just wishful thinking?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I oscillate between envying women and being so glad I don't have to put up with all that crap. All up I'm glad to be a fella. The thing I envy most though is the female orgasm which seems to go on forever.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:15 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:16 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:17 (twenty-one years ago)

hahahaha I was waiting for someone to pick up on my implied egotism.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Who's familiar with the Kleinian concept of the good and bad breast? You guys should really get into Freud.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 13 May 2004 05:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep thinking this thread is about shoplifting.

i was a teenage shopliftxoring mongrel

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 13 May 2004 06:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't so much noticed the length of the female orgasm as the enviable multiplicity of them ;-)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure you could have multiples if only you tried a little harder gaz :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm an old man! my recovery isn't quite what it was! I'll try later tonight!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

you do that! :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:39 (twenty-one years ago)

can we please stop talking about "the" female orgasm and start talking about female orgasmS? it just freaks me out, the idea that there is only one accepted way for us to come.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:49 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought the result was being mentioned, not the method?

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

women are diverse in result AND method.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 13 May 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

a bit like intent and interpretation

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 10:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't dispute that, and i don't doubt that colin and gaz are aware of that. but the implications are wider than just this thread.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 13 May 2004 10:11 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm quite torn over it.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

take the day off Trayce!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Possibly not, however you just keep saving that package bonus and you'll have the op in no time.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

eh? you have overly small sinus (sinii?) jim?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:33 (twenty-one years ago)

it's only extras not package. i could be wrong but it's not on the website..

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

you could get those little clips that heavy snorers use that prop open yer nostrils. it could be your gimmick - like nelly's bandaid

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

i've emailed darren and asked him. He's not going into your file (that would breach privacy laws) but i told him what i knew and he's going to figure out what you're covered for.

I just ate a chocolate paddlepop and some lime and roasted chilli kettle chips for breakfast. That's not real healthy is it?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i can see how tonight will play out. you will mistakenly drink some of cols "high quality" coffee and they will have to take you to the local deli in the middle of the night where they will jab a huge needle of adrenalin into your heart.

o now that is pure gold

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Well that tears it - Im not going to work. Sod them! I can do the essential stuff I needed to sort today that couldnt wait, via email, in fact its already done (sooner than it wouldve been had I gone in, ironically). I plan on resting all day, dying my hair, and being good to go tonight. I feel quite guilty and Ive still to call my boss which wont be fun, but um... yeah.

I dont have health insurance at all. Ive been able to get public hosptal care pretty quicly when ive had to recently, btu it means I cant claim on my glasss or orthotics, which is becoming a pain. Im not sure I can afford insurance though. I spose I should at least get ambo cover.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm paying a bit under $40 a month, doesn't cover hospital stuff but does do dental/specs/ambulance/blah

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

the photo of jim tore it?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't pay for mine so I have no idea what it costs.

All I know is that it got me a pair of designer frames no out of pocket and thats enough of an incentive for me :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

that photo could tear the hardest heart

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

yo james, darren is finding out how much more it would cost for cover if you were serious about this sinus thing. ie: hosp. and stuff.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

You dont pay for yours? Dayum, Ima get me a health insurance toyboy :D

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:13 (twenty-one years ago)

hehehe and even when he finally cuts me off it, i'll be covered by my parents cover till i'm 25 (which i guess isn't that far off) Because my mother and darren both work for medibank private they get some pretty hefty discounts on their cover too.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Work gives me private health cover. It's a family plan, so my wife comes under it too.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I bought a bass guitar with my package bonus before they changed the rules :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Iknow not what this "package bonus" is. I havent had health insurance since I was in the public service. Is it some govt incentive cashback or something?

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

We get that. It's some kind of health insurance kickback. Every year we get $4-500 each, to spend on whatever we like.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 13 May 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:04 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i'm okay, campus security are nice people. i've been pretty jumpy since last weekend when i got hounded by a woman who wouldn't take no for an answer at the pub, and saw my drummer get beat up.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

That's no good Di. I've missed you round here. I mean I know you've sort been around but you know....not as much.

On another notes, I'm starting to think I should stop taking no for an answer.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:11 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise of psychotic badassery (electricsound), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise of psychotic badassery (electricsound), Friday, 14 May 2004 01:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 04:45 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

jim, you'll have a great time. I just wish gaz and i could be there. When i get the money from the house we'll all have to FAP in sydney. IT WILL ROCK, IT HAS TO!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise of psychotic badassery (electricsound), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise of psychotic badassery (electricsound), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i should probably go change into something more comfortable

the surface noise of psychotic badassery (electricsound), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:28 (twenty-one years ago)

would it be sad to say the sydfap might well be the highlight of my social calender for the year?

o jim what does that entail?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

hi mully, jim updated me via sms, so apparently he had trouble finding colin in all the lesbionic types and was mildly distressed but then found him. I've not heard anything since :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

wild guess: drunk AND stoned.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

hehehe don't know, I just requested an update....

NEWS AS IT HAPPENS!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

its like our kids have gone to tha PROM

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:11 (twenty-one years ago)

hehehe, if this was the prom my kids were going to they'd be grounded for some time afterwards I think :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

at least jim put on a clean shirt

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

jim is the neatest, tidiest guy i know :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

http://tugboatonline.brinkster.net/ilxstuff/jimdrunk.jpg

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, thats why i can't stand to look at that photo. It's just so unlike him :)

anyhow, he just texted me. Apparently the finger rogered vulvas have just started their set.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

have col'n'rach played yet?

gosh this is exciting ;-)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

no i don't think so. james will probably be too wasted to report back by then, although he is driving so maybe not.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

any messages you'd like passed on?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

tell them they have missed THE thread of the YEAR.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

done!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

anyway WE should chat about other stuff. WE don't need THEM!!

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah exactly. seems they don't need us either! James' replies are rather slow.

so...uhhh....do you like...stuff?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. i quite like...stuff.

(i wonder what R is wearing?)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

hehehe thats why i wanted to see some photos dammit!

so anyhow i discussed the heart with my sculpture teachers. They kept insisting i did it in copper because it's a bit easier to work with but when i dug my heels in they recommended i pop rivet it together, so it should be interesting.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

wow. how large will it be? how would i mount it?

(i'm guessing something small and ripped, maybe some latex. col in a suit)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

mount it? It ain't a marital aid gaz!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

display it.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

teehee!

i think if you tried to mount it you might get a sliced up wang given it'll be sharp and tinny.

I won't know how you can mount/display it till it's done. I was hoping to make it life size, however i may have to make it a little bigger but it certainly won't be huge. I'm envisioning it being maybe the size of a human head max.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

ok and will it be two or three d?

(has jim messaged?)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

3D.

No word from Jim.

I don't think he's mad at me, so he must just be enamoured with the finger rogered vulvas :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

mad at you?

(col has him pinned to a corner discussing blou*t)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah mad at me. but he's not and rarely is these days so it's all good.

heh, in all probability. :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i heart the ol' jimbo.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

me too! with every ounce of my being.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

no no no, this isn't how it should be. we're supposed to be having a great time without them!

(i'm picturing jim revealing his cd and col starting to weep)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, i just reminded james that we were waiting on a reply. Maybe i'm being annoying.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

get him so riled up he leaps on stage and bites R's thigh.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

NEWSFLASH

From James:

"Colin says ha ha ha, he has pigs arse and he's so drunk he can barely stand"

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

HAS HE BEEN ON STAGE YET?

(not that it matters, eh? techno musicians: pressing start/yelling "south sydney")

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

james or gaz? :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean james or colin.

must be getting sleepy.

who are you again? :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm none to bad as it happens.

has col been onstage?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

no i don't think so, although i fear i may have just missed a message because my inbox was full. Could just be james' tardiness re: replying.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

are you majoring in sculpture?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

sure am.

the class it actually called sculture and intermedia, and i chose this class because i enjoy intermedia, but not sculpture so much. But as it turns out the class is about 90% sculpture and 10% intermedia which pisses me and a number of other students off majorly.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

intermedia being?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

basically whatever you feel like using whatever materials you feel like.

so it can be painted objects or video or digital media or things made out of fabric (that's what i do). You know, whatever. I could knit a tent out of hessian string and call it intermedia.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

haha my partner did textiles which sounds similar.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

yup, sounds like it could be :)

I guess what i like to do is take crafts and make them art. For instance, obviously cross stich and embroidery are crafty type things, and arty farty types look down their noses at it. So it's kind of cool to take those kind of homegrown elements and use the technique to make something arty.

My teachers don't like it. I think they feel torn when they see a perfectly embroidered erect cock. It's craft, but no craftsperson would ever embroider something like that. :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

a perfectly embroidered erect cock

arty farty types look down their noses at it!!

whats cool with the arty farts then?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

dunno, some swiss exchange student filled a huge transparent bag with water and corks. They wanked over it for ages. Not literally of course.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey gaz, this thread is just about at the 1000 posts mark. What do you think the new one should be called?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

its weird. people must talk about the, uh, creative process, no? what the fuck do they say?

xpost i dunno: you wanna do it?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

apparently it was about albert namatjira....apparently

nah, i don't wanna do it.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

o come on. jims out. you wanna do it.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

jim has nothing to do with it :)

i'm my own woman now (well i always was but you know)

i say whoever touches this thread first tomorrow morning has to do it.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

ok.

(any more messages?)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

nah, i told him i was thinking of heading to bed soon and he kind of said goodnight, however i think it was directed to both of us. We'll get beltings if we don't get to bed!

apparently cherry2000 haven't been on yet, and frankly i'm too tired to stay up much later and wait for word.

hope you don't mind me bailing on you. Must be the night for it eh? :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)
