what are the FATTEST meals you've eaten this past month?

I just had a steak and kidney pie for lunch and then polished off a 25 pack of salami slices.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

You RULE. Honestly.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

#1 China Buffet, 200 yards away, I hit them up for:

8 sushi rolls
1 bowl egg drop soup
4 steamed dumplings
4 crab rangoons
6 steamed mussels
6 of those pork-on-a-stick dealies
2 veggie egg rolls
2 vietnamese egg rolls
1 half-plate of coconut shrimp
1 half-plate of general tso's chicken

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, and about 2/3 pound of green beans, but I didn't include those for being green.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

beautiful.

it's been quite an ipso fatso week actually, yesterday i had a mcD brekkie followed by a KFC combo meal two hours later.

i fully intend to become so fat that one day cars will have to swerve around me, and run out of gas.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a battered sausage on Saturday.

robster (robster), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

A sandwich from the stage deli on 53rd and 7th. About a pound and a half of meat, I reckoned. far, far too big to get in your mouth.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Dee-fried scallops and french fries for dinner last night. Later at home (a few hours later), peanut butter cup ice cream.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Dee-fried scallops

I didn't know Dee was a chef!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

A pulled-pork sandwich with bacon and onions -- and since I was hungry and busy, I didn't drain the bacon fat, just fried the onions in it -- and those Ore-Ida extra crispy French fries; yerba mate ice cream for dessert.

(Actually, the burger from Steak and Shake and cup of chili was probably much worse, but the pulled-pork sandwich seemed ridiculously high calorie.)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

A bacon, cheese, and butter sandwich on white bread.

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

That's my white bread! I bought the wholemeal stuff for you!

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Dee-fried Dee.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

What about the Friday?

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I am so motherfucking going out to get chinese food now, thanks nza.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

(This was before you bought the wholemeal, Mark. I was scrounging for lunch last week.)

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Sunday, after flying home from Atlanta, I did not feel like cooking so I went to McDonalds and ordered the Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese and a large fry. Since then deer have been licking me.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

mark should put name tags on the food in the house.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Home-made pizza with tons of both mozzarella and goats cheese. Home-made lemon ice-cream (ingredients: loads of double cream, loads of sugar, some lemon) sandwiched inside home-made Nigella-recipe (ie. FAT) chocolate biscuits.

But it was my kinda publication party so...

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

omg these egg rolls are DRIPPING OIL.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

(that's a good thing)

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

how do you make an egg roll?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Tell it a 'why did the chicken cross the road'joke.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 16:22 (twenty-one years ago)

when i'm in the mood, i go for ice-cream-and-peanut-butter-on-toast.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:36 (twenty-one years ago)

oh man i have been eating like a PIG lately

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i ate two slices of pizza today and then a chicken sandwich when i got home and then a burrito tonight.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i am going to weight 300 lbs soon.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I ate a whole bag of microwave popcorn for breakfast t'other day.

Volume wise I'd never ever be able to approach the foodage amounts y'all list here, I just cannot put that much food in me in one sitting. Its physically painful! How the eff do you do it?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

SO MANY GREASY DOUBLE CHEESEBURGERS
Sausage pizza *ALL THE TIME*
Burritos often
Fried chicken a few times

Ian Johnson (orion), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 00:48 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, ian. just wait until you hit 25 and your metabolism goes pffft.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

hey my very own thread!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 01:50 (twenty-one years ago)

and i was all ready to throw a wobbler

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

so was i to be perfectly honest.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 02:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't get full. I get hungry, but i don't get full, i could eat and eat and eat and eat and still not be full. I'd probably be able to eat what nickalicious ate up there, but i wouldn't because i'm trying to lose weight. I'd probably eat half of what he ate and then congratulate myself for holding back by then eating half a kilo of yoghurt.

Nellie (nellskies), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 02:43 (twenty-one years ago)

throw a wobbler?

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:30 (twenty-one years ago)

do my block, get cranky, froth at the mouth, etc etc

the 'surface' 'noise' (electricsound), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

"chuck a wobbly" it can also be expressed as.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

oh my.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:39 (twenty-one years ago)

it also crossed my mind when i saw this thread title that there might be some snarkery about.

how is the beaded penis coming?

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i am more familiar with the "chuck a wobbly" form. i wonder if the "wobbler" variation is more melbourne based?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:44 (twenty-one years ago)

heehehe "beaded penis coming"? I haven't figured out to simulate spurtage yet orbit!

yes same here mully. maybe james is just a bit nutty.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

god damn! sickalicious!!

g--ff (gcannon), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 04:50 (twenty-one years ago)

do my block??

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean i've always fantasized about doing mine but...

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:02 (twenty-one years ago)

australian colloquialisms are a bit odd when you're not familiar with them I guess. :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:03 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. I love them.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't tend to use them much.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:19 (twenty-one years ago)

No, they're as rare as bilby shit in my daily parlance.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 05:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken and Nicka - it amazes me that you two can eat like this and remain skinny. Color me jealous.

Oh, and I ate two packs of white chocolate Reese's eggs this week -- and immediately passed out.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

there are biscuits in my house and i want to EAT ALL THE BISCUITS, yesterday I ate six! argh

Nellie (nellskies), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Who will stand before the fury of ken c's armies?!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

ken I want to take this opportunity to tell you that over the past couple of weeks you have been on FIRE.

your posts are choice, too

slopsymbolic, Wednesday, 12 May 2004 23:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Lauren, if I had eaten that much I would be very hungry. Today I had pizza and cake for lunch, which was pretty fatty.

isadora (isadora), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:24 (twenty-one years ago)

oh new zealanders say 'throw a wobbly" too

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

well thats like a combination of the two isn't it? :)

throw a wobbler = throw a wobbly = chuck a wobbly

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm just going to KFC now for the big fat variety meal mmmmm. good luck, my sweet arteries.

aw cheers tracer for the props!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 13 May 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know where to start with this, I've eaten like a pig for the last three weeks, yet my colleagues are still asking "have you lost weight?"

I did eat a whole tub of chubby hubby ice cream the other night after eating gut exploding amounts of sushi

chris (chris), Thursday, 13 May 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw, welcome back cabbage. I've just eaten a third of a packet of Jacobs Lemon Puff biscuits. They were nice, but my hungover state means that I really want to go to the canteen and devour whatever slop they have today. Probably leathery roast beef.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 13 May 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

ohohoh!!!!

WAS THERE SQUIRREL??????

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 13 May 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

and I have peanut butter products coming out of my ears, and some other interesting stuff, mostly involving chillis and spices

chris (chris), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

BUT WAS THERE SQUIRREL!!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

as mentioned on the squirrel thread, sadly no

chris (chris), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, saw that afterwards :(

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

and I have peanut butter products coming out of my ears, and some other interesting stuff, mostly involving chillis and spices

did you scoop it up and eat it again?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

no, I saved it all for you

chris (chris), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

cheers ears

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

List of peanut butter products! Not enough lard here! Come on people, it's Friday.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 14 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

erm, iirc:
reeses mini pieces
reeses mini peanut butter cups
reeses puffs - cocoa and peanut butter cereal
peter pan brand honey roast crunchy peanut butter
peanut lovers chex mix (which is not nearly as nice as the honey roast nut one)

also:
10 packs big red chuddy
jar of key lime juice
some cocktail mix - hurricane something or other
box of flaming hot tamale jelly beans
a jar of blackened fish powder
some strange latino chilli and lemon powder
loads of cigars
a meat thermometer (digital) a snip at 9 bucks

I'm sure I'm missing summat

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Blackened fish powder! The mind boggles.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

blackened fish is second on my list of favourite foods now, after all things Cuban. Picadillo = numlicious, and the fried pork chunks????? words fail.

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:04 (twenty-one years ago)

A thermometer made out of meat! omg

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

it's all I can do not to eat the damn thing.

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a battered sausage on Saturday.

We're talking food, not sex here! ;-)

Fattest food this week? Probably some pasta. I've been eating quite (too) healthily this week, hence drop in weight.

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I could quite go for a battered sausage right now.

and if anyones ever in key west, get straight down to El Siboney, it's food is amazing, and they deliver! We ate ours on the tiki bar, by the pool, in our shorts *sigh*

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

yeh, we've had no food in the fridge for about two weeks now and I've lost a significant amount of weight. That said, my dad cooked a mexican chicken pizza yesterday and put spicy tortilla chips on it - it fucking works!

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

This week i have had the most amount of rubbish food. We have been living on takeaways & what we can buy in the local shop (due to moving house.) Currys, pizza, fish & chips, sandwiches & loads of crisps.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris - CHEERS on totally going for it re: the Reese's products! Did you get all sleepy and high? I always do. For now I'm off the stuff -- trying to eat like a normal person now that the five month trail of tears between holiday seasons is on (no Reese's pumpkins, eggs, or anything else for some time!)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm only gutted that I missed out on the inside out peanut butter cups!! I only saw them at a filling station after I bought something else and thought that I'd find them anywhere....but no :o(

The Hershey shop near Times Square was like heaven.

biggest disappointment = Butterfinger bars - they were completely rank

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

They're pretty good! Have you tried those "big cups" yet? They're all right. I'll pretty much take a Reese's egg over anything, though.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

can't quite remember, there was a lot of cup action going on.

I liked Mr Goodbars, plain and simple - not too flashy, also baby ruths

chris (chris), Friday, 14 May 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

A thermometer made out of meat! omg

ITAE?????

ken c (ken c), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I had me a big baconcheeseburger last night at demi-pub/sports-bar/brew beer on site place across from UCI -- AND I CARE NOT.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i had a big slice of quiche/souffle made with a ton of egg and ricotta and such last night, then evil bright yellow movie theatre popcorn. i sort of care, but whatever. it was fun.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Last night I had a gigantic wood-fired pizza with bacon and multiple kinds of cheese on it, and an appetizer that was equally bready and almost as big and had gorgonzola on it....bluuuhhh.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 14 May 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw an 11-pound chocolate bar at Gourmet's Market last night, but I was too busy buying eighty dollars worth of tea to manage it at the mo. *hangs head in shame

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 May 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

eighty dollars worth of tea

Hopefully not for consumption all at once.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 21:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I could probably do it in two weeks time.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 May 2004 21:31 (twenty-one years ago)

You are DRUNK. On TEA!

(A manifestly good thing.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 21:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Lindt dark chocolates and a Big Mac.

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 May 2004 01:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Initially I substituted 'in' for 'and.'

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 01:40 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah, that's good too.

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 May 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

tonight i had a salad.

and three huge spicy sausages.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 15 May 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 18 July 2004 03:48 (twenty years ago)

Dee-fried Dee.

Hey, that'd hurt! (Ha, yes, I missed this, and there's nothing special about the way I fry things.)

On Wednesday afternoon I was able to go to Quizno's and had a big and delicious sandwich, along with chips and a drink, for lunch, and then I went back to work, where I had the rest of my refilled drink and a bag of peanut M&Ms from the vending machine. That'll be my most gluttonous moment of the past few weeks.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 18 July 2004 07:49 (twenty years ago)

We're a week into a month of pescatarian-ness and today, so far, we've had kipper and scrambled egg for breakfast plus muffin with butter and jam. Lunch was fritelle and a sausage sandwich and a glass of white wine. Dinner isn't even HERE yet.

suzy (suzy), Sunday, 18 July 2004 15:24 (twenty years ago)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:55 (twenty years ago)

I just last night ordered BOTH a #2 at taco bell (grilled stuft burrito, nachos and cheese, and large pepsi) AND a cheese quesadilla. I regret nothing.

(Ken, we're both going to be fat by Oct.)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:01 (twenty years ago)

Roxy, you do indeed rule!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:08 (twenty years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:09 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeah, my giant ass.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:09 (twenty years ago)

All I can think about now is cheese quesadilla! Mmmmm, i like them with pesto & mozzarella! yum!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:11 (twenty years ago)

pinkpanther seems to have a cheese preoccupation.

Reason number the second I love drug company reps: they come correct with the food. I just ate about 25 cheese cubes, 8 little pieces of crusty pizza, and three slices of chess pie. I regret nothing.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 6 August 2004 17:47 (twenty years ago)

Now I'm going for Taco Bell!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 6 August 2004 22:27 (twenty years ago)

roxy, u r my hero.

(this could be the hunger talking - whatever, I applaud you).

luna (luna.c), Friday, 6 August 2004 22:38 (twenty years ago)

Last night I drunkenly demanded Taco Bell from a dancefloor. I received none.

I went home and ate a whole box of macaroni and cheese and was all "hey, why not throw some olives in there?" Then I put some parmesan on top, 'cause mac and cheese ain't cheesy enough, obv.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 20 August 2004 06:37 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
i roasted 5 huge chicken wings the other day and then made enough mashed potatoes to feed the whole of china. i realised i made too much so i saved half of the portion on another plate. and then after eating the first plate I realised that I had room for the rest!!! so i ate that and my stomach was like 3 times larger than before. all of this was after a bowl of soup. god i was hungry that night.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 9 September 2004 14:38 (twenty years ago)

today was steak and ale pie for lunch, with chips and peas and a pint of london pride (see other thread) nice. i don't know if i could have made it through if i have had the mcdonald's double sausage egg muffin i was gonna have this morning.

That's what they always say about me. Oh wait.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:41 (twenty years ago)

Do you guys eat more than one meal a day? Just curious, cause you're both SMALL SMALL SMALL and eat like 3 times your weight in one meal.

xpost: Gross, Ned.

Do you have Goldfish there? They're like tint cheese-flavored crackers in the shape of fish. They have smiles on their faces, until, as the jingle states, you bite their heads off.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:45 (twenty years ago)

I had a scone in my morning meeting and then I got back to the office to find they were ordering cakes from Greggs, so I had a pineapple tart! Synthetic cream tho.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:46 (twenty years ago)

i eat at least two meals a day. sometimes three.

you can't tell my weight from photos because most of the weight are hidden inside pants innit.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:46 (twenty years ago)

er... by which i mean the tremendous thigh muscle from playing football, obv.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:47 (twenty years ago)

sometimes i only eat one meal, sometimes i go for two or three or just constant snacking throughout the day. i should be way fatter than i am.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:47 (twenty years ago)

wow those goldfishes sound fun! i hope customs will allow them brought to the UK.

pineapple tart! yes! i'm hungry for some sweet bakery items just now actually. might pop downstairs to the sainsburys

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:48 (twenty years ago)

Do you exercise? Ian is the biggest mystery 'cause he totally just sits around posting to ILX and doing bong hits.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:48 (twenty years ago)

And weighs, like, 130 or something.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:49 (twenty years ago)

maybe he exercises whilst posting on ilx.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:50 (twenty years ago)

the last time i saw ian (it was at a barbecue), he ate continually from the moment he arrived until the moment he left. i salute him.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 14:51 (twenty years ago)

ian is my new best friend

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:07 (twenty years ago)

We love Ian.

In other news, my coworker just ordered something made out of FRENCH FRIES, ICE CREAM AND CHOCOLATE!!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:08 (twenty years ago)

Why did you tell me that? Now I am afeared.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:09 (twenty years ago)

Have you forgotten what thread we're in again, Ned?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:10 (twenty years ago)

I can still vent my feelings, you Kentucky sprite.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:10 (twenty years ago)

You do realize I'm neither from Kentucky, nor have I ever lived there, correct?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:12 (twenty years ago)

But, you know, people confuse Nickalicious and me all the time.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:12 (twenty years ago)

Kentucky sprite sounds so fun, though! You can call me an Oregon sasquatch if you like.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:13 (twenty years ago)

In other news, my coworker just ordered something made out of FRENCH FRIES, ICE CREAM AND CHOCOLATE!!

pics pls.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:14 (twenty years ago)

I should have posted on this thread over Labor Day weekend, but for a bandmember's going away party, a friend made a giant plate of delicious ribs and country ribs (my first time with those, apparently it's just a different cut without the actual bones). We all sat around hanging out and digesting for awhile, then it was back for ribs round II with an added side of spicy beans & rice (w/andouille sausage). Later, as we were nearly comatose from food, the ice cream cake (that said "Seriously, Dude, Get Out of Here") came out.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:17 (twenty years ago)

Yesterday she got a CHOCOLATE CHIP CHEESEBURGER!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:18 (twenty years ago)

NO.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:19 (twenty years ago)

wtf! is this the midge?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:20 (twenty years ago)

No, it's not the midge. The midge eats terribly boring food.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:22 (twenty years ago)

Calling said person 'the midge' just makes me think of Moose's girlfriend.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:23 (twenty years ago)

Haw.

Today I begin training for my London trip by 1. consuming massive amounts of fried edibles, 2. dressing in Adidas trousers and threatening people, 3. walking home all the way from downtown in the rain!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:24 (twenty years ago)

I'm also gonna do that bit he does in Rocky with the log on his shoulders. Just to make it look more like training.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:25 (twenty years ago)

You are a fearless athlete!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:25 (twenty years ago)

i've been practicing saying things like "all the way from downtown" in an american accent in training for roxymuzak's visit.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:55 (twenty years ago)

Awl the wae frum dayown tayown, Ken!

My heart just exploded after reading that.

I think a visit to the chip shop may be in order tonight.

robster (robster), Friday, 17 September 2004 14:35 (twenty years ago)

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 17 September 2004 14:38 (twenty years ago)

I had an abundance of lovely, lovely quesadillas filled with cheese and roasted peppers for lunch. That was four hours ago and I'm still so full I feel like puking.

Hanna (Hanna), Friday, 17 September 2004 14:44 (twenty years ago)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 11 October 2004 08:39 (twenty years ago)

canadian thanksgiving (in london) on saturday:

-LOTS of chicken (couldn't get a turkey so opted for 3 chickens)
-2 types of stuffing
-2 types of mash potatoes AND crispy wedge roasted potatoes!
-peas
-gravy. loads of gravy
-broccoli baked with cheese and some crumble-type topping
-scones

I had 2 and a half helpings of all the above.
Then,
-2 butter tarts
-2 Nanaimo bars (you Canadians know what I'm talkin' about!)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 11 October 2004 09:18 (twenty years ago)

-2 types of mash potatoes AND crispy wedge roasted potatoes!
-broccoli baked with cheese and some crumble-type topping
-scones
-peas
2 types of stuffing

OMG, that sounds like heaven Rob!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Monday, 11 October 2004 09:19 (twenty years ago)

I've had a glut of fat making meals this month - been to McDonalds twice, had a fish supper and also guzzled down a deep fried pizza supper (and yes, I am deeply ashamed of that)

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Monday, 11 October 2004 09:22 (twenty years ago)

i just made this
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/kenjuggle/DCP_3343.jpg

ken c (ken c), Monday, 11 October 2004 23:38 (twenty years ago)

I've been to nanaimo. what are the bars like?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 11 October 2004 23:40 (twenty years ago)

i tried one bar but it was dry.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:02 (twenty years ago)

and VERY sweet

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:19 (twenty years ago)

Mmmm that looks tasty. What is it?

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:20 (twenty years ago)

(to make a batch, not just one of course):

Base
2 squares (oz.) semi-sweet chocolate
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg

Filling
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons instant vanilla pudding
2 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar

Glaze
4 squares (oz.) semi-sweet chocolate
1 tablespoon butter

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:28 (twenty years ago)

hold on, "two types of mashed potato"??? the difference being?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:31 (twenty years ago)

one is real potato and one's S*M*A*S*H?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:33 (twenty years ago)

[resists urge to post reference to obscure early 90s NWONW band]

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:37 (twenty years ago)

Mmm, thanks. My teeth are cringing at the prospect. Wimps!

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:38 (twenty years ago)

the "two types", steve, would be:
1. Regular ol' white mashed potatoes
2. Mashed sweet potatoes - yummy orange mush!

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 10:43 (twenty years ago)

I ate 4 chocolate eclairs on Friday night, one after the other, I couldn't help it...I still feel guilty...they were only litte ones, from M&S, but still.....

smee (smee), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 11:13 (twenty years ago)

Have you tried those tiny little caramel shortcakes out of Marks?

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 11:34 (twenty years ago)

No, don't tempt me - I'm back on my health kick.

smee (smee), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 11:47 (twenty years ago)

Those aren't Nanaimo bars, those are Squamish bars! xpost

mikef (mfleming), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 15:50 (twenty years ago)

fried chicken
mashed potatoes
cream gravy
green beans with bacon (once you put bacon in it, it's no longer a vegetable)
chocolate pecan pie with ice cream

Smokin' funk by the boxes (kenan), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 16:48 (twenty years ago)

I swear to god, I STILL haven't really been properly hungry since that fucking mega bucket on Primrose Hill.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 16:52 (twenty years ago)

Canadian Thanksgiving was ipso fatso indeed... I am still feeling it.
Yet now I want Nanaimo bars. And am pondering just what a Squamish bar would involve. More mountainous somehow? Rockier? Hm.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 16:58 (twenty years ago)

As far as I know, Nanaimo bars are exactly the same as Squamish bars.

mikef (mfleming), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 17:40 (twenty years ago)

I didn't even know there was such a thing as Squamish bars - and I've lived in BC almost all my life - my family even lived near Squamish for a while! The difference is that the S-bar base is peanut butter and rice crispies rather than graham, coconute and chocolate. N-bar wins on fatness, but it's a close race.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 18:07 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
last friday i had the 4 fat chicken thigh for £1.09 deals! omg they were all dripping with fat it was heart attack in a box!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:29 (twenty years ago)

Ken, you need to come over and take photos of my food, I can never get them to come out right.

I tried to make a shish kabob out of a sparkler once, my parents were not happy with me. I had been thinking, it's like steak AND fireworks, how can it not be great?

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:55 (twenty years ago)

Mmmmm.

Since my girlfriend's been gone for a week, I've eaten multiple whole pizzas.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:58 (twenty years ago)

Only one in a given night though.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:58 (twenty years ago)

Pussy.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 29 November 2004 21:02 (twenty years ago)

Yesterday:
Scrambled eggs (probably about 3)
Veggie sausages (5)
Slice of toast
Cup and a half of coffee
Veggie tacos (about 6)
Cherry pie (one slice, with Cool Whip)
Morningstar Griller veggie burger (1)
Yay fake meat!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/kenjuggle2/chickencooked.jpg

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 23 December 2004 14:36 (twenty years ago)

wow ken. and is that a house key or like a luggage lock key? whatever the case, it looks *tiny*.

I feel my December's ipso fatso is yet to come. I have eaten numerous salads the past week :/ Before that I have vague memories of eating a gigantic burger with cheese and bacon and the works with chips/ketchup and two beers at about 11 one night...and then there was the Boston Butt lunch several days before...

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:08 (twenty years ago)

sgs this is all just saving yourself for xmas revelry i hope!

My sister and her bf are coming to town in a couple days and a turkey is gonna be sacrificed for the cause. God, it's only a Medium sized one though (supposedly... it's still 5kg!). I was soo tempted by the EXTRA LARGE which apparently serves 15 people!!! wtf. but i didn't have £25 to buy it with.

I also have to figure out how this crazy sausagement thing is supposed to turn into stuffing.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:32 (twenty years ago)

if i stuff the turkey with sausage meat, line the top of it with bacon, and crack an egg inside, and serve with beans and toast i'd have a full english breakfast roast!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:34 (twenty years ago)

p.s. the key looks small cos the chicken was ENORMOUS!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:44 (twenty years ago)

DO NOT STUFF THE ACTUAL TURKEY!

It will take about 3 hours extra to cook, and also create a breeding ground for botulism.

Porkpie (porkpie), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:49 (twenty years ago)

arrgh.. so i should cook the stuffing outside of the turkey, then retrosepctively stuff it?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:59 (twenty years ago)

No. Don't even bother stuffing the turkey. Make the stuffing and and serve it on the side in a nice, decorative bowl.

Michael "Martha" White (Hereward), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:10 (twenty years ago)

with all due respect to porkpie's good judgement and significant culinary knowledge, i don't agree. i've eaten god only knows how much stuffed turkey over the years, and as long as you remove the stuffing upon completion of roasting you'll be fine. it does take longer, but cooking in the bird is what most americans do without large numbers of people dropping from food poisoning.

xpost

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:11 (twenty years ago)

The danger with actually stuffing the turkey is that you can either undercook and risk food poisoning, or overcook, so that everything's heated through, but that bits of the bird might be a little on the dry side. but as Lauren points out, millions of people have done it without any harm coming to them.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:25 (twenty years ago)

http://www.fsis.usda.gov/factsheets/turkey_basics_stuffing/index.asp

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:26 (twenty years ago)

also, all stuffing other than my mother's is bad and wrong.

all I'll ever put inside the cavity of a chicken or whatever is half an onion, half a lemon and a couple of cloves of garlic

Porkpie (porkpie), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:28 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
thanks for all the advice, guys. the turkey came out almost perfect! i should have kept a better cover of it for longer because the juices ran a little on the dry side, but it was still fantastic. i even made gravy from the giblets (although i did add 1/2 a chicken stock cube to help with the flavour)! i was proud of myself.

here's the beast sans the legs. toaster in the background gives a good indication of size.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/kenjuggle2/DCP_0005.jpg

it lasted a good 5 days. (and was still too much). the bones made a really good soup base for our hot pot dinner at home just before new year.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

In other news, I forgot to have dinner last night and so today i just had 2 microwave meals for lunch (mushroom stroganoff + speghetti bolognaise) i got £1 off for buying both together!

and now i ate both and feel very ipso fatso.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:37 (twenty years ago)

Oh Ken. I think we need to start a feeding club for taking care of you.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

I just noticed I've said "I regret nothing" more than once on this thread.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:56 (twenty years ago)

wait you think i'm not being fed enough?

Free food cool!!!!!!!!!!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:57 (twenty years ago)

I should make you a pizza Ken. We always end up making an ideal amount for 3 people and then scoffing it all between the two of us.

robster (robster), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:57 (twenty years ago)

xpost, that is the ipso fatso comradehood spirit emily.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

please, rob!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:59 (twenty years ago)

as in Yes Please! rather than "please! you think a mere 1/3 of a pizza can keep me stuffed??"

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

I meant regularly and appropriate times. But yeah, we totally need a N Lon dining club - we postulated this while entertaining Marianna the other day (she was making us badges for New Year's).

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

That reminds me, we still have the other half of the nummy bread dough in the freezer.

robster (robster), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

n london dining club should visit the ocakbasi restaurant that opened on crouch hill... good lord.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

Do not say "nummy."

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

n lon dining club what a great idea! do we need to carry a card like the Diner's Club Card?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

It should probably involve secret handshakes. And secret milkshakes.

robster (robster), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

i'm not so keen on this secret milkshake idea.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

It's better than yours.

robster (robster), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:26 (twenty years ago)

I've just realised. I misread upthread and thought Marianna was cooking badgers for Liz and Robster in some kind of bizarre squirrel one-upmanship.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 10 January 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

in celebration of getting my deposit money back from my landlady i made myself a huge f-off steak with other stuff (all the trimmings is that what they call it?).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/kenjuggle2/steak.jpg

and also drank a bottle of cava. awesome. i really ought to have actually dressed up for this.

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 23 January 2005 11:24 (twenty years ago)

I once made a pizza that had so much cheese on it, it made my friend who ate it with me lactose intolerent.

Sasha (sgh), Monday, 24 January 2005 01:43 (twenty years ago)

Aw, I miss your house, Ken! I remember that exact box of tissues from the night we ate Hilmarton.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 24 January 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

Ken kept up the pace with roast duck the next day.

robster (robster), Monday, 24 January 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)

Aw, come again for one hilmarton emily!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 January 2005 15:38 (twenty years ago)

don't forget the PIE as well rob (and the plate of noodles i had before i set off)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 January 2005 17:47 (twenty years ago)

(i was reallly hungry in the morning)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 January 2005 17:47 (twenty years ago)

This weekend:

Nepalese takeaway curry
Brie baguette
football ground pie
Brazilian snacks (lots, deep fried)
Mussels and chips (midnight, after Brazilian snacks)
Bacon butty
More pie
chicken stir fry

I disgust myself sometimes.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 24 January 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

What's a football ground pie?

Orbit (Orbit), Monday, 24 January 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

I think he means a pie he bought at a football ground (stadium).

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 24 January 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)

That duck was so great, Liz! I'm also really super tempted to make another lemon meringue pie right now.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Monday, 24 January 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

I thought it was either ground by a football or was shaped like one. Color me disappointed.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 24 January 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

it's actually made from the turf in a football ground

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 03:11 (twenty years ago)

Oh man that lemon meringue pie was the goodness! Thanx Marianna!

Last night we had a not-quite-Burns Night supper of haggis, neeps and tatties. I added a bit of extra butter and milk to the mash to make them super creamy. There was enough bashed neep and tatty for two helpings and then we had mango tart and cream for afters.

robster (robster), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 09:31 (twenty years ago)

Ha ha I am eating Ryvita Minis. Only 3% fat! (nb, this is not my usual approach to food).

alix (alix), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 13:46 (twenty years ago)

off the thread, lix!!!

(kidding)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

Well, last night I ate a Sherbet Fountain and a Double Dip in quick succession. I felt wrong. Actually, they're not really fatty, as such, so, erm.

alix (alix), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 14:19 (twenty years ago)

God, I had forgotten about that tiny key in the oven stuffer photo. Ken, we are geniuses.

I ate dinner twice last night... nuked a couple of frozen chicken chimichangas (they're really good) and had them with salsa and sour cream. Then I went over to my parents house to show them AGAIN how to use their email program and wound up eating enchiladas and chile relleno casserole. Blorp.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 09:44 (twenty years ago)

So last weekend I drove up to Old York, and on my way up I stopped off at Milton Keynes to go to the Tesco Extra to stock up booze (it was 9pm and by the time i get to york offies will be shut), in the belief that there is a KFC in the shopping complex so i can get some food too, as i was dying for some fried chicken.

Well, to my disgust, there was NO KFC at that place, there was a McDonald's but fuck McDonald's, so there needs to be an alternative - I was hoping to get like some buffalo wings or something, but out of the corner of my eyes I saw a SELF SERVICE HOT COUNTER that was still open!!! But the only thing available were WHOLE ROAST CHICKENS.

So obviously I bought one (i got the garlic variety yummy!), and a roll of kitchen roll, and ate it all in the car. It was SO messy, but SO satisfying! OMG. there were chicken juice all over my glasses and stuff and i had to wash them at the petrol station.

God it was good. I wish I still have the car so I can go there every evening for one.

It was £1.09 at Sainsburys.. i couldn't resist. (Normally they sell 3 for £1.09 but today whoever was cooking went mad and put 6 legs in each box!)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 18 March 2005 14:22 (twenty years ago)

In 5 hours - Bodeans for a birthday pig- (and possibly cow-) oout!

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 18 March 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

Ken, it doesn't mean they went mad, it means that they were trying to sell off the older stuff. They can only keep stuff on the hot chicken counter for 2 hours, then they have to chuck it/ let the staff steal it. We always used to have loads to eat, cos no one gave a shit about cooking a sensible amount. If we couldn't eat it all we'd reduce it to stupid prices and sell it to any customers who seemed nice, and also discreet. Or throw it at people. One time, right, we played football with a scotch egg. Oh the high jinks.

Another kind of entertaining thing is you tend to get kind of goldfish-style short-term memory issues. I just treated myself to a takeaway indian combo meal, and for the last half hour I've been like "mmm this nan is good oh hey how about the palak paneer, and now some of the basmati with the aloo chole and HOLY FUCK I HAVE NAN THAT'S AWESOME AND OMG PALAK PANEER THAT'S MY FAVORITE, HOW DID I KNOW?"

I think if I would have gotten the three-entree combo I would have vapor-locked.

haha pwn3d AND lynddied!!!

The other day, while still on my Whopper-a-day diet, I ate, yes, a Whopper and fries with a Diet Coke (hahahaha!). Then I was still hungry, so I stole a can of black beans and a bag of shredded sharp cheddar from my sister's fridge and made a dip. I ate a half a bag of tortilla chips. The next morning I ate ten (American) biscuits with strawberry jam. Ten.

Yesterday I didn't get up till 3 and only got round to eating about 6pm. I had a Sharwoods Chicken Madras with rice and naans. But also I added loads of mangos and onions to the curry so it was extra nice. About two hours later I was hungry again so I invented a new kind of dinner.

Cut a flour tortilla so that there is a hole in the middle. Fry the outer circle in a pan and crack an egg in the middle. Grate cheese over the egg. Once the egg is solid, place the smaller inside bit of the tortilla over the egg and squirt ketchup on the "lid" that you have made. Then roll into a kind of tube and enjoy!

i need to start taking pictures of these things now that i have digital camera.

It's pretty ridiculous tonight. Didn't eat until after eight so I chowed down a grilled cheese & ham sandwich when I got home, but now there's lamb chops and canteloupe wrapped in prosciutto, WTF.

Jordan (Jordan), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:16 (nineteen years ago)

rrrobyn please do take photos of your dinners! this is the essence of this thread! and also i want to see your GF grill in action!

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:22 (nineteen years ago)

hi ken!!

the gfg was grilling sausages earlier!
you know what it's also good for? grilling quesadillas - put cheese etc on small corn or wheat tortillas, fold in half, put on grill! brilliant.

i'm still not used to having a camera. i need to go through the phase of taking pictures of everything. and then eating it.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:28 (nineteen years ago)

My Mum used to do this thing with sausages wrapped in bread, baked in the oven. All the sausage fat would soak into the bread, so it'd go crispy and greasy and good. Then she decided my sister and I were getting fat, so she stopped doing things like that and banned relatives from giving us Easter eggs.

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 13 May 2006 06:16 (nineteen years ago)

btw roxy the oven stuffer was just an expression - REAL, authentic, oven stuffers are only found in the US! Also: are ducks larger than chickens in general? i never compared them before!

fried rice with dried scallops
sauteed pea leaves

scrambled egg with shrimp
chinese broccoli

four people managed to eat about 1/3 of the above. i had leftovers last night, i'm having them again tonight, and there's still some stuff for tomorrow.

Johnny B Was Quizzical (Johnney B), Thursday, 5 October 2006 12:56 (eighteen years ago)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 5 October 2006 13:08 (eighteen years ago)

chicken is not disgusting. it is tasty. 'chicken on a stick' seems to be the most universal food - street vendors seem to sell it pretty much everywhere in the world...

i also made beer can chicken with my folks back in the summer!

note all the extra bacon amongst the veg!

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 5 October 2006 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

Had a Philly cheesesteak for the first time on Monday, with a black cherry soda. Queued for ages to get it by which time I was ravenous and wolfed it down like it was a small and flimsy fruit of some kind. Had to have a sit down for half an hour after. Then ran across a water ice place so had to have one of those. Then ate a very tiny bar of bacon flavoured chocolate because when will I see it again?

last couple of meals i've really enjoyed out i've ordered the same again straight after, much to the amusement of staff.

2nd Steak & Guinness pie with big chips.

Empire steak building!!!!

fillibustar superstar! (Abbott), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 20:54 (sixteen years ago)

Is it topped with a tiny King Kong?

fillibustar superstar! (Abbott), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 20:54 (sixteen years ago)

I'm afraid there was no king kong Abbott, sorry to ruin the image.
It was a big thick steak on a well balanced building of chunky fries with sauce round the plate, twas amazing, hence round 2.
if i go again, i'll take a pic.

not_goodwin, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 21:06 (sixteen years ago)

Oh man now I want steak and chips for lunch and I dont know where around here I would shot such a thing (cept Mitre tavern but it'll be packed with wankers)

What kind of cake? Looks grand whatever. Kudos to the creator.

krakow, Tuesday, 9 June 2009 21:40 (sixteen years ago)

haha, thanks. it was just a chocolate cake, and a pretty rubbish one - can never get a cake to rise for some reason! maybe more baking soda?

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 June 2009 22:00 (sixteen years ago)

Okay, wtf irt CANNED WHOLE CHICKEN

This Ace of Base is driving me crazy (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 9 June 2009 22:21 (sixteen years ago)

omgomg i ate an entire chicken last night - sorry i was too drunk to take photo but it came in a vacuum sealed packaging and you just dump it into a microwave for 4 minutes and woo there it was, and then you can dump it into a bowl of noodles and it becomes fucking tasty. i'm sure i ate loads of bones too as they were all soft like. i wish i had more memories of eating it.

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Thursday, 11 June 2009 10:24 (sixteen years ago)

Cake good. Microwaved soft-boned whole chicken bad.

Chicken in a can beyond bad, obv.

ailsa, Thursday, 11 June 2009 22:10 (sixteen years ago)

I gobbled a few bites of a peanut butter pie containing primarily heavy cream before dinner, and then I had a heaping bowl of turkey tetrazzini, aka intensive cheese noodles with little bits of meat. MMMM. FAT.

Maria, Thursday, 11 June 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

I was outside shoveling topsoil all afternoon and was too stove-up to think about making dinner, so we went out for cheap americanized Mexican food. I ate my dinner, half of my wife's dinner and a few bites of my daughter's. Thinking about ice cream now.

bamcquern, Friday, 12 June 2009 00:18 (sixteen years ago)

i think i'm going to eat the rest of that piece of peanut butter pie. it's actually left over from dessert yesterday, i could only eat about 1/3 of it due to four pieces of homemade chorizo & onion pizza. i guess that was a contender, too!

Maria, Friday, 12 June 2009 01:03 (sixteen years ago)

baleen, the krill queen (Abbott), Monday, 29 June 2009 19:27 (fifteen years ago)

deep fried haggis supposedly. those chips, too. it felt as though i drank a whole bottle of oil by the end.

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Tuesday, 30 June 2009 15:22 (fifteen years ago)

Isn't the Blue Lagoon really bad? Why not head to a quality chip shop?

krakow, Tuesday, 30 June 2009 15:42 (fifteen years ago)

well i know that now!
it was next to the station and i only had 10 minutes for some grease before pub.

there was one that's actually on buchanan street (i think) a few years ago that gave me a blob of fried haggis that's the size of my head, with chips. forgot the name though, it was the bit where cars cross sometimes, and the shop i think maybe has an italian name

four months pass...

hey. ipso fatsoers..

I'm trying to curate a MEAT EATING event in london - any suggestions as to where might be a good places to go? price not too important (although cheap is good as that means MORE MEAT), most important is volume (and quality) of meat available.

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:32 (fifteen years ago)

ken's chip shop he was talking about up there in June would be Pizza Crolla, which used to do my ipso fatso Friday lunch when I worked round the corner (big pizza slice, poke of chips and a can of ginger for £2.20)

ailsa, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:50 (fifteen years ago)

Petek, Ken?

j.o.n.a, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 16:03 (fifteen years ago)

there's petek although most folks i'm doing this with have done that before, so would ideally want something different! otherwise would be perfect.
