So, everythings gone fite crazy, and no doubt it will all get reported on tonight channel 4 (don't set your videos for anything after the scheduled BB, no doubt this is going to be a long one).

But now no-one's in the bedsit, and we don't know who's in the house.

New thread.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:36 (twenty-one years ago)

flipping blimey crikey!!!

just read through the digital spy coverage of last night, it's pretty mental...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)

come on, why wasn't this "Jungle Cats vs The Seals FITE!"

M (joking): "Do you think we've beaten the most heated moment from last year when someone turned round and went 'prick'?
D: "I think we've beaten the most heated moment on TV ever."

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I watched this last night - i couldn't drag myself away. i stopped when they cut to stock footage. i was pissed off when it came back after an add break to just sound/garden long shot, and you could tell it had JUST kicked off during the same ad I'd endured 10 times in the last hour.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:40 (twenty-one years ago)

blimey! I had to go to bed early, so know nowt about anything after the first 5 minutes of the re-entry. Clearly some catching up to do. See you later...

zebedee (zebedee), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:46 (twenty-one years ago)

where is this DS footage please?

unfortunately it looks like the DS forum is down, so i can't find the link. it's the "Dont despair, footage of "The event" is available" thread, though, when it comes back up.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it possible that it's down in order for that thread not to be there when it comes back up?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 07:59 (twenty-one years ago)

well possibly, but i'd guess everyone getting in to work and being told about it (like me) and thus clogging up the forum is another very plausible option. either that or opinions were getting out of hand on there as well...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:01 (twenty-one years ago)

From the BB news page:
Channel 4 yanked live feeds of the house from E4 and the Internet between 2am and 3am, airing only a prerecorded loop of generic house images and bird noises. Upon the feeds coming back at 3am, viewers saw Victor, Jason, Stuart and Michelle in one area of the house with the other housemates having disappeared. Conversation between the contestants indicated that no plans have been made as to how to continue with the show at this point - as Michelle pointed out to Stuart, "they can't put these people in the same room again."

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

the video footage was on usendit, so it's blocked already.

Here's some pix http://www.bigbrotherphotos.com/bb/thumbnails.php?album=405

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Dammit, I was hoping the fight had kicked off in those stupid party costumes.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:26 (twenty-one years ago)

didn't victor still have some clown makeup on

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh no! you said Clown. YOu know what happens when you say clown.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:30 (twenty-one years ago)

'do you know who i am?' (x 100)
'er, someone from slipknot?'

(er, that?)

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma back in the bedsit, according to the C4 official site.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma to Victor - A joker like you acting like some kind of black guy?

Victor is an excellent actor, and had me totally fooled. I never knew it was Steve Martin in a suit.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma kicked out says media guardian!

http://media.guardian.co.uk/
10.30am: Big Brother house trashed by contestants; Channel 4 last night pulled the feed on show after violence broke out and one contestant, Emma, kicked out. Last night's show got ratings of 6.3m. More soon...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma is back in the Bedsit. Official.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

JSL...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ILE is the only reliable BB forum left?

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I assume while she is in the bedsit, she doesn't have the 24 hour video feed now, does she? Or are they that mad?

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

It seems like it's the only properly unbiased one. Everybody on the more mainstream ones (even DS, to an extent) seem to be blaming everyone except their favourite.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Does ILE blame Endemol, then?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 08:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Shell: "Does anybody else want to leave?"
Michelle: "I don't know chick. Emma was saying earlier that she doesn't care if she goes."
V: "Let's hope so, eh?"

He doesn't get it, does he? Mr 'game plan' is so over, whatever happens. It's just a matter of waiting until friday week.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

But what happens when it is Victor and Muscle-boy fool up for eviction? Surely, from the sounds of it, they are both seriously to blame. Mind, Emma is too to be honest.

I don't think you can "blame" endemol for this. Commend them for their planning, morelike.

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, basically, Victor would get an overwhelming majority.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd guess so. Will be interesting to see any of them leaving the house. I can forsee quite a bit of trouble on the way out.

Kind of aside, it wouldn't surprise me that, if Victor were evicted, he would stay in the house in the hope to send the cashpot to zero.

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh my.

What stupidity was it which made me switch OFF after the re4-entry of E and M last night?!

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

There'll be more entertainment in keeping Victor in, so in he'll stay.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:17 (twenty-one years ago)

well quite, meg switched over to "america's next top model" and i went to bed...

DS hourly update quite hilarious:

Michelle, talking to stuart:

11.11: "Don't think I didn't miss you at all," Stuart tells Michelle. He explains that he misses his friend Matt, who has always been around during his summer holidays.

11.12: Michelle says that she didn't expect him to be sitting moping over her exit all of the time!

11.13: Stuart explains that he didn't feel like he had the right to be upset after she left, because he felt privileged to be taking part in the Big Brother experience. Michelle says that she understands.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Personally, I think they need to send a new contestant in to stir things up a bit...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Filed: 10:40, Day 21 by Nathan Irving

Emma has been sent back to the Big Brother bedsit for the time being as the producers decide what to do in the aftermath of last night's huge altercation.

She is the only housemate not to have been seen back in the house since the incident last night, prompting speculation that she had been removed from the house altogether.

For now she's back in the confines of the 'secret' room as all parties begin to cool down.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Personally, I think they need to send a new contestant in to stir things up a bit...
-- Matt DC (runmd...)

(now I'm crying helplessly)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

For now she's back in the confines of the 'secret' room as all parties begin to cool down.

She's going to go EVEN MORE BONKERS than she did last time she was in there!

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

How isolated is she? Can she get 'visited'?

I can see this going to a 'vote'. More voting opportunities. Yum.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

what Perry said on the previous thread about Tickle going back in right now. How out of place would he look. Can't wait to see what he makes of it on his DIGITAL SPY BLOG.

Tickle's a dirty blOGGER! Tickle's a dirty blOGGER!

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Its like Big Brother solitary confinement! They should feed her solely on gruel and sent a big butch woman in there to intimidate her a la Prisoner Cell Block H twice a day.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:31 (twenty-one years ago)

But she gets on well with Nadia.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Nadia's not very intimidating though. (xpost!)

What I remember most from last night, pre-shenanigans, was the fact that people are now in all seriousness calling Stuart and Victor alpha males. STUART AND VICTOR. Like... not even beta males.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart : alpha student.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason is very "Whoa I had a load to drink last night, What happened? Did Nadia flip a table over?"

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

does this EVER fool ANYONE?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

.. and trying to make friends with Michelle and distancing himself from Victor.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Obv i haven't seen the ins and outs of the actual barney, but from the main footage I saw Jason came out of it a LOT worse than Victor. Victor was taking it badly as a mis-step in his game but with much apparent good humour, but Jason was just mortified and knocked down by it.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason is very "Whoa I had a load to drink last night, What happened? Did Nadia flip a table over?"

Actually, some speculation of DS that it actually was Nadia - it seems that in the cold light of day nobody had as good a view of it as they thought they did at the time. (Stuart's also said it was her and not Jason, btw.)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahmed is going to win at this rate.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

> But she gets on well with Nadia.

in the state she's currently in? they should print nadia's face and rant on cigarette* packets instead of the 'you will die' warning.

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

(Isn't it "three days off, and the chemical addiction is over")

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahmed = Kazan

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

so how much of all of this am i likely to see if i watch Channel 4 and E4 tonight?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Most all of it, I would have thought.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(oops, deleted my footnote)

* or 'ciga-bloody-rettes' as emma called them. i'm starting to think emma is a idiot-genius. i liked the way BB gave all the instructions to michelle and made her check everything emma was doing.

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

yes in all the fighin excitement we've forgotten about the mechanics of them coming back in. michelle in charge of emma - good move BB.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Michelle and Emma feel like the most NATURAL double-act in the history of Big Brother, in some ways. I find myself forgetting they've known each other for three weeks instead of about 15 years.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

From BBC News:
A spokeswoman for Channel 4 denied reports that Emma had been expelled from the house following the fight, and confirmed that there were no plans to evict any of the other housemates involved.

"Each of the housemates will be called in to the Diary Room today to talk to Big Brother," she said.

"At the end of the day, it is the health and welfare of the housemates that we are concerned about - the game show element is secondary.

"We want to talk to them individually and see how they are all feeling today. Then we will take a view on what to do next."

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

no plans to evict any of the other housemates involved.

that's fucked up.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 June 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

a quote from the messages on the ds board:

steve: "emma must NOT be let in again - she is a psychopath and will probably knife victor given the chance - I should know I am a clinical psychologist"

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I have images turned off, is it really work-safe to view that picture Mark?

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

exactly, like that doctor who's just been dione over for seeing grieving parents on TV and ringing up and saying "the husband did it!!"

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i liked the way they gave complementary outfits to stu and michelle.

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

didn't the bedsit girls choose them?

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

emma and michelle decided what everyone's costumes for the fancy dress party would be - hence victor being a clown and Jason being little bo-peep or whatever it was.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Ye gods. Listening to it now...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

pete you're a star

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

wow

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

it is incredible. i love the pause when everyone calms down slightly before something - the table being pushed? - goes CRASH and all hell breaks loose

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

(This is so not going to be broadcast tonight...)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart and Dan = the heroes of that little scene

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. i like stuart's repeated 'who are you?' in response to victor's incessant 'who do you think i am?'

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

It's like some skit from an album I cannot even describe...

Yeah, Stuart...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"do you know who i am? do you know who i am? do you know who i am? DO. YOU. KNOW WHO. I. AM?do you know who i am? do you know who i am?" X 20

Dan did good, as did stuart.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

... and now, around me head is..

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

(remember my name.. FAME! I'm gonna live forever....)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you f#cking know who I am???

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

That link has gone right round my office. Whoosh!

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

hehe - is the office echoing with layer upon layer of "do you know who i am?"

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed it is. It's the second time today this kind of thing has happened - somebody sent round the rainbow "let's all pluck our twankies and play with each other's balls" clip earlier on.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks for that video link. when i was watching last night, the first bit (up to the cut to garden) was in the ads.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I wasn't paying attention to the previous thread, I missed the fact that it was Emma making the death threats. I was wondering why she'd been carted away.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

(I thought it was Jason first... Emma seemed to use the exact same wording later)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

our media player is buggered, and we can't install software on our pcs :0(

x-post apparently jason threatened Marco's life

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

What was Ahmed doing amid all this? Standing around looking bewildered?

Or was he already in bed, in which case he would have stood around looking bewildered in the morning instead.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, apparently he was in bed, but there's no way he could have slept through it.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel so special for having seen (part of) this live.

Is that link to pete b's own webspace? Whoever's it is going to exceed their bandwidth limit pretty soon, I would have thought.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahmed got up after a while and was wandering around.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

no it's not mine, someone in my office found it. it's already been emailed up and down the country i expect.

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't see it, it says it cannot find the file!! aarrgghhh!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel so special for having seen (part of) this live

You are taking the piss, aren't you?!

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

so Victor didn't threaten to kill anyone after all?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

oh but he did, he started it and Emma was just throwing it right back. Did he spit in her face? It's what it sounds like

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

No, I'm not, tripleunderscore. Why would I be??

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Does he at some point say "I'm from fucking oldham"?

He doesn't threaten to kill anyone in the video, no.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Jaysus the edge!

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

he does ymof, several times, from what I can make out

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, I did listen specially, though only from 0:45 (table goes over) to 3:00 (Emma starts yelling "I'll fucking kill yer"). There are bits I couldn't quite make out (the oldham bit). Whereabouts do you reckon it is?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't listen to it now as everyone has just come back to the office, but when Emma was saying it it was as if she was just repeating what he was saying. so around the three minutes point I think. While she was being carried away anyway

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

> (It's entirely worksafe Ste.)

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor sounds like a damaged child.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

this is really irritating, why cant i see it?!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

he says he "will sort her out" and she says something like "youre acting like some kind of black guy" around the 2mins 8 sec mark.

Rock bastard, Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

That black guy comment is just plain odd.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, I thought it was her reaction to having a glass of wine dumped over her (I'm assuming that's what the wet noise at 2:50 is, unless everyone spat on Emma at the same time).

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

(xpost)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

it sounded like someone hocking summat up?

can't listen now though :o(

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

By 'black guy' I think she means 'stereotypical big scary black gangster guy'. That's the way it makes sense to me, anyway.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

It's more 2:46. He says "I will spit in your face" beforehand, but he says it afterwards as well.

She's not from a bit of England where there aren't many black guys, is she? Are there any left?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, that's what I thought too (xpost the gangsta thing). See, Emma is simultaneously quite bright and quite dim.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

She lives near Manchester, doesn't she, where there are loads of black guys.

I think, as I say, that she was accusing him of playing up the gangsta image, albeit in terms that confuse black guy with "black guy", if you see what I mean.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

me too. I'm amazed at how Stuart held him back though. and what was with Jason? was it before or after he had the Nadia thing? he was just standing there dazed, was that because he realized that he was rumbled.

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

No, no black guys in Manchester. (xpost)

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

was that because he realized that he was rumbled.

Because he was pissed.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

that too

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

victor = Joker from Akira

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart was doing his best, but I'm sure Victor could have broken free if he really wanted to. It suits a hard, scary image in those circumstances to just make it look as if one is only being held back from clattering someone by other people. I doubt he would have actually hit her.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

(Wasn't the first eviction from the Australia house, more bonkers than Kitten?)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I was going to say, was it one of those where he goes "hold me back hold me back" and in fact he ain't going anywhere.

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I think if it wasn't being recorded he might have done. His body language was *extremely* aggressive. He looked like he was squaring up to somebody twice Emma's size.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

On Emma - from Manchester is very different to near Manchester, which could easily mean a two-bit village in Lancashire.

And the latter is a place where the BNP was chasing votes, as they played on peoples fears rather than knowledge of communities, and they were 99% white anglo-saxon.

So - it depends.

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma actually looked more out of control and genuinely desperate to get to him, from what I saw. But then the cameras had switched to an aerial shot for much of Victor's "do you know who I am / you're shit to me" section, so I don't know.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't believe we thought this was going to get boring after Kitten's eviction.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I think reading between the lines that Emma has had a black boyfriend. He might not have been 'very nice' but then, that had nothing to do with him being black as other boyfriends might have been similarly 'not nice'. But then that's wholly conjecture.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

You realise, this would have all happened last week, if Kitten had not gone and thrown the schedule out...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

jason and victor had been knocking back the booze after emma and michelle came back, they were too much in shock to take it all in, so they decided to cane the beer.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have WMA. How can I get it so I can see the video as well!

BB, Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think the bedsit thing would have been as good if they'd done it a week earlier - the extra week gave more time for characters to develop a bit and resentments to fester.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Watching that fight video was like watching a bunch of gibbons squabble at the zoo.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

She's from Oldham, which yes, was the classic BNP of recent times. But I think it's unfair to taint her by association. Lots of people from Oldham hang out in v.nearby Manchester, anyway. I just don't get the sense that there are any nasty racist attitudes in her at all. Maybe the odd dodgy stereotype, but let he without sin cast the first stone, etc.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

BNP = BNP battleground

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I think if she was truly racist she wouldn't have got so upset watching the footage of victor badmouthing her to stuart when she was in the bedsit.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)

actually, that only means that she doesn't think she's racist, which isn't the same thing at all...

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor= juggalo 4 life.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Apart from the fact that the original conversation was about words that someone might find offensive, which was not mentioned when Victor discussed Emma saying 'nigga' 9 times, to Stuart.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

For clarification - Oldham and issues in Oldham have always surrounded Asians. But, this is all by-the-by, I was just hoping to explain away the "near Manchester" thing.

___ (___), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we're all racist to some degree. As with Morrissey, you know she's not censoring herself, and if that's all that's there, she probably comes off no worse than me, for example.

This kind of low-level racism is not to be ignored, but I think it's pointless to personalise it, when there are avowedly racist, hate-fuelled people to worry about.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

5Live news bulletin claims that police are investigating last night's events.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

'A spokesman for the Police said earlier "Blimey! That link has gone right round the staion."'

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

But what is there for them to go on? Inciting racial hatred? No. Breach of the Peace?

Wonderful. I wonder where I can put £5 of no charges being brought...

OMG!!!!! I'm going to call the police on the next episode of "The Bachelor".

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor's only 23! I thought he was much older than that.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

OH MY GOD!!!!! This is completely insane.

"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" needs to go on a t-shirt.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I must say that this is doing more than anything else I've seen to cure my not-so-latent desire to be on reality TV.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Just wait til they hold the INXS audtions VengaDan, I'm sure you will be changing your story then.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

If the police have asked for tapes and are investigating last night, does that mean Ch 4 can't show the footage tonight?

Rock Bastard, Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

A colleague's Mum is watching the live stream at the moment and says they're blanking out sound whenever they talk about what happened last night.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

If the police have asked for tapes and are investigating last night, does that mean Ch 4 can't show the footage tonight?

No it doesn't. Unless someone is charged, anyway, as far as I know.

"Meanwhile, laptop electronica mavens across the UK are sweatily cutting up "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???" into their glitchy productions... "

you bet. and the video.

Bloodclaart Gangsta Youth Club (don), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

my bigbrother viewing last night consisted not only of this fun but also before that big brother's efourum which kitten stormed out of.
russel brand was goading her excessively, she started complaining about stereotyping (in her droog gear) and then pissed off the set.
it seems she tried to get back in but instead had an embaressing
row with the security guards

de, Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, kitten is *so* last week ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

quite literally.

Meanwhile, laptop electronica mavens across the UK are sweatily cutting up "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???" into their glitchy productions...

Damn straight. Now what is the most appallingly hipster thing you could do with the samples?

Sprinkle it liberally over . . . .
1. My Name Is (good for calling it Emma-nem or someother witty soundclash title)
2. The Big Brother Theme (bit too obvious)
3. War (What is it good for) (ditto)
4. Kung-fu Fighting (ditto but surreal)
5. The Farm's new version of All Together Now (very surreal, possibly a deep social comment on todays Merrie England)
6. FURB (the swearing is already there)
7. Insania (for the reality TV double bill)
8. Matinee (so the indie clubs can finally get in on a joke)
9. Blue Monday (to spice up DJ Student's 34,000 spin of the tune)
10. Albatross (to counterpoint the screaming with feint memories of a peaceful Thompson Ad)

Answers on a postcard

Gribowitz (Lynskey), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:41 (twenty-one years ago)

So I've been watching the live coverage pretty religiously, and no-one seems to have metioned that, in the 'blank hour', Vanessa totally laid into Nadia in the bathroom, apparently.

Is it just me, or does that really sound like a bad idea?

smirkydainty, Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

How do you know about this if it was in the blank hour?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart just said he had 'tunnel vision', and ran sraight in to sort it out. Then the sound cut again. Shit. (on e4+1).

smirkydainty, Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't understand, why have they cut the sound off? If nobody has thrown a punch, coz it all sounds like handbags stuff, what are the legal reasons for censorship?

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I am stuck at the library front desk, I cannot see the video for a little while yet, and I hate everyone who has seen it already, especially Dan and Nicole, you gloating bastards.

(I might be exaggerating.)

"do you know who i am? do you know who i am? do you know who i am? DO. YOU. KNOW WHO. I. AM?do you know who i am? do you know who i am?" X 20

This just reminds me of the Steve Coogan bit on the one Day Today.

"Do I look cool? DO I?"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

(I also have to say that if they do kick anyone out, they should kick out BOTH Victor and Emma because they can't justify keeping one of them if the other one goes. Also Marco should get a severe reprimand for being an instigating prick with no fucking sense.)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Marco? I missed this. It couldn't have been any more than the usual...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Marco (and Nadia) prancing in front of Jason and Victor is what touched off the entire thing from what I can tell.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

No, Mark, but under the circumstances he could/should've twigged that Jayson and Rocky The Clown might've reacted as they did.

How much do you think their inability to fly one off the wrist contributed to it all?

Gribowitz (Lynskey), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

If Jason and Victor are supposedly playing to a secret game plan, and the return of the two girls thwarts their ambitions, how was Marco/Nadia supposed to know?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE HOUSE IS A RUNNER FOR ENDEMOL

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

They were told by the Bedsit Buddies that they'd heard everything that the housemates had said all week - Dan admitted after the fight that he'd put two and two together - I think it'd be underestimating the rest to say that they didn't have there suspicions. Remember bad things happened to Victor, Jayson and Vannessa during the week - it won't've taken a genius to realise who was behind it.

When Marco and Nadia were dancing in the garden it sounded like they were dropping none-too-subtle hints.

Gribowitz (Lynskey), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Right, so in summary

1) Emma/Michelle say they will keep secret, the fact of seeing the lot.
2) They re-enter the house
3) Party.
4) Secretly tell Marco/Dan/Nadia about it.
5) Dan keeps the secret (dude. Should stay just for that!)
6) while Marco and Nadia dance around the garden going "we know what you've been dooo ingggg"...

yeah?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Basically, with added "Victor and Jason get plastered in the interim" fun.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Marco and Nadia weren't that blatant. The other major sparking point was that the living room was covered in food. Check out Vannessa's comment about it.

Gribowitz (Lynskey), Thursday, 17 June 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

wasnt that cos someone turned a table over?

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

are threats a crime under uk law?

scots law: yeah, they are.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

They shouldn't let Emma back in.

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

(it's a wonder threats aren't an assault under scots law actually. hm.)

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I like: nadia (really growing on me); emma; shell (is ok); and ahmed.

for entertainment; victor; michelle.

dislike (lots): dan; jason; vanessa; marco.

indifferent: stuart.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight's highlights show certainly looks like it's been cut to show Emma in the worst possible light. If it could hypothetically be the case - I think she's already shown herself in the worst light as it is.

DS are suggesting somebody with eviction tickets for tomorrow has been told it's cancelled.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor in clown make-up realising that Emma and Michelle are back in the house really needs an "0WN3D!!!1" banner under it.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor (in big-smiley-lip clown make-up): It's time to get fucking serious

de, Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

the highlights program clearly shows Victor and Jay planning to kick off at Emma way before anything else happened

"it's time to get fucking tough.. tag-team argument..."

Bloodclaart Gangsta Youth Club (don), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason and Victor getting each other wound up is scary.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:45 (twenty-one years ago)

tell me something good about scotland.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Yup- Jason looking round the corner of the house to see what was going on was very very sinister.

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

have to say, i dislike them both intensley (esp Jason), but they have a point, could you live with those screamers and not want to knock someones block off?

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

DigitalSpy suggets that Endemol's next trick will be to parachute Calum into the house.

Bloodclaart Gangsta Youth Club (don), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, no, but that's why I would never go into Big Brother...(hahaha xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

colin: you wouldn't act like that though.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh a warning from CH4 before its aired

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma is seriously unhinged... (I haven't seen any of this before tonight's highlights show)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:54 (twenty-one years ago)

scary.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

dan is doing well.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma: "he's called me thick, boo hoo". Your point being what, exactly?

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

jason is a dickhead.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

The man speaks the truth. Emma is thick, and I could quite cheerfully knock everyone in there's head off too.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

(note: I am uber-intolerant of people who annoy me)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

haha "no more war"

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:59 (twenty-one years ago)

he is a dickhead.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I felt for Dan when he was trying to be policeman- but it really was a horrible mess. Endemol must take some blame for the booze, and for allowing Emma in at all. . .

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

jason is awful. Cozen i take it you have changed your mind about Dan? a bit of a hero there i thought.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

what was happening in the bathroom at the end, it got a bit edited or between cameras. who was argueing with Nadia and who was Jason grabbing? nadia?

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

what happened to victor shouting ""do you know who i am? do you know who i am? do you know who i am? DO. YOU. KNOW WHO. I. AM?do you know who i am? do you know who i am?" he must have shouted it at least 40 times on the clip linked above and we didn't get it once during the show.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

some quotes from posts on digital spy:

'RIDICULOUS JUMP CUTS.

They didn't have a single 'DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?'

'So they cut Emma's potentially racist comment, theres a suprise.'

'And Victors potentially murderous intent. There's another surprise.'

'Disgraceful hatchet job yet again...switching off.....PERMANENTLY.'

'That was badly edited and made it seem like it was not that big a thing, damn editing'

Bambaklaart, Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah ste, that was wierd, i mean they have about 20 cameras in the bedroom bathroom area so why didnt we get a decent shot of jason pushing (i presume) Nadia? and why no decent shot of the table being flipped over?

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:06 (twenty-one years ago)

a) for legal reasons? Because they don't want to show any bits that the police are still casting their beady eyes over?

b) so they can try to increase the DVD sales?

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

what's up with the viktor hate? you all seem to think shouting at people who have been trying to wind you up all nite, try and start fites when yr trying to stop them and acting like little turds is wrong. IT IS JUST SHOUTING! NO FISTS RAINED DOWN!

'i like mark goodier'

nebbesh (nebbesh), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

victor is a knobber?

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

It seemed to be edited against Emma. Both Victor and Jason were alot more threatening last night then were shown in the "highlights". Emma had a go at Victor because his method of breaking up Jasons argument with Nadia (who was protecting Marco) basically consisted of pushing Nadia away and telling her to stop being stupid.

Victor complaining about the cold showers: "I've already got ...the sniffles!". Very alpha male.

Kipple (Kipple), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah the link above shows victor throwing wine over emma quite early on but on the show tonight it was as if she instigated the violence by throwing a tray of food at him.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I liked stuart shouting 'who are you?' at victor.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:19 (twenty-one years ago)

"You're Slick!"

Kipple (Kipple), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

This even made it onto the ITN news tonight, 'has big brother gone too far?'.
"It's terrible, we are treating it like a colloseum and they are the gladiators, thumbs up who stays and thumbs up who goes"

I hope you are all pleased with yourselves.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

this is the first time that I am questioning the morality of the show.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

but it's you & the media that are calling him an alpha male, not him. nadia pushed over a table to try and calm jason down. now jason IS a knobber.

god, victor is harmless, he acts exaggeratedly lahdahn and plays up his blackness, but no-one calls out the girls for using their femininity or gays for playing up their campness. he is allowed to act out a role for you to get so riled about, as long as he doesn't go out of his way to make life difficult i.e. the others.

x-post. yeah that was funny cozen, then he said 'yr slick' - wtf? victor, slick? he's a dweeb!

nebbesh (nebbesh), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm finding it a very boring thing to do.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor and Jason were protected a bit, I think. Lord alone knows why, becuase they did quite enough themselves to convince us that they were cretins.

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

'harmless' /= 'he wouldn't lift a finger.'

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen are you scared of him? he's just another guy with a brooklyn bounce and a bit of mouf. plus, he is there for our entertainment, remember? god knows what you think of some rappers...

i mean, albeit unwittingly, he is the main reason all this happened, why you are all like BEST BIG BROTHER EVAH!

nebbesh (nebbesh), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight's show was really weirdly edited. When Victor was called to the Diary Room, it looked undeserved, and the same when Emma was sent to the bedsit.

It made me have more sympathy for Jason tonight, to be honest, even though I still dislike him intensely. Definitely have more sympathy for Victor. I had no idea that Emma had thrown a tray at him first and just how taunting Nadia, Marco and Emma were being.

nadia pushed over a table to try and calm jason down.

This is always the best policy, I find.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i forgot about the most classic moment of tonight's show. Emma going into the snug while jason and victor were talking about stepping up their gameplan and slaying them with her good humour " oh awright... what yous two doin in 'ere? havin' a good time? ill just fix me bra, i look a right mess... glad to see me back are ya?" while the two sat speechless. she can be amazingly (emotionally) intelligent at times.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, but she should not use it for evil.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

N., explain why you had sympathy for Jason- he was thoroughly objectionable and sinister surely? (at the same time drunk, but that's not really an excuse)

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Bear in mind that on the basis of what I saw/read last night, I was thinking he was the the devil incarnate. I just thought he was being endlessly provoked, and though his threats of violence were pathetic and beyond the pale, I'm not surprised he was livid.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

He might have had a little more self-control, though. Was he really being provoked that much? (this is where I put it down to drink btw)

G., Thursday, 17 June 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

If you can keep your head when all around you are threatening to remove losing theirs...

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 17 June 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes yes, he should have.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 17 June 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

jason is clearly The Bad Guy. victor (who's a lot younger than him) i think gets aggressive out of a weird insecurity and perceived threats to his hard-guy self image. he seems to calm down a lot quicker and make up with people, and he was joining in the silly games before it all got out of hand. jason just seems like a very bitter, unpleaant man.

i'm also starting to think that emma is not nearly as dim as she/we make her out to be. her comic timing is too spot on to be accidental.

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yes, i agree with that!

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

classic = emma complaining that victor compared her to 'jade goodier,' then pointing out that "there's nothing wrong with jade goodier!"

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i agree, there isn't much wrong with jade.

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor: Britain can suck my dick

de, Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

k Victor must go as he drinks tea with a spoon.

ooh emma is awake.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 18 June 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma is horrible.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 02:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor also. Emma somehow worse though, Victor was not in the bedsit.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 02:35 (twenty-one years ago)

*finally hears file* Hm, that IS fucked up.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 June 2004 04:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Although supposedly this is a video file as well? Odd, when I downloaded and played it, all I got was the audio.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 June 2004 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Latest: Dan seems to be the general peacemaker, even Victor has agreed he has 'issues', and wants to make general peace. However, he also feels it'll all kick off if Emma comes back in. Dan makes the point it takes 2 to argue/fight.

From Digital Spy (around 02:30)
"Dan says fights don't last very long if you don't fight back
Victor says fights don't last long when he does fight too!"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Awesome.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:20 (twenty-one years ago)

> yeah the link above shows victor throwing wine over emma quite early on but on the show tonight it was as if she instigated the violence by throwing a tray of food at him.

she did flip the tray at him, from about a foot away, an escalation of the food / wine throwing, and then turned and walked away. by the time he got hold of the tray she was a good yard or so away and he heaved it at her with a good deal more force, edge on too. that, i feel, is when it got too violent.

late last night was largely dan and victor talking sensibly. then victor talked to jason and it all turned aggressive again.

emma had a cd walkman in the bedsit.

koogs (koogs), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:30 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, also late last night:

dan: yeah, when i found out jason had a nudity clause [in his contract] i wondered why i didn't.
victor: yeah, ive got one about stirring things up, ruffling feathers...

audio disappears. what was that about?

koogs (koogs), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor's going on about that again, is he?

Hmmm... it sounds a bit weird. How would Endemol enforce these clauses? Maybe by payments afterwards, depending on how well they've delivered?

Or maybe they're making it all up as a way of guaranteeing the live feed be cut.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

There Ain't No Sanity Clause

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

pinkpanther to thread to say:

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought this was great last night. Is Emma still in the bedsit? I don't think they can keep her out & let Victor & Jay carry on as if nothing has happened. I mean they were as agressive as emma, more so if anything.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, encourage. Victor was muttering stuff about 'being here to ruffle feathers' on the fight night. "If it wasn't my face, it would be someone else's," he said.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor in the diary room complaining to Big Brother: "You've got to give me hot water!! I'll get ill! I've ALREADY got the sniffles"!

Awww poor lickle Victor wif ze sniffly-wifflies!!!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:58 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah that was classic!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 07:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I think they are agreeing 'additional clauses' to their contracts as part of the 'diary room counselling sessions'.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:01 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG was postulating that he meant 'ill' in the old skool hip hop sense.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:38 (twenty-one years ago)

That's odd about the actors thing. I had been thinking that last night with they way that Jason and Victor were acting in the snug. It didn't seem natural somehow. Don't think they're actors - who could keep that up for that long but I certainly think that BB has given them roles to carry out in the house. If not all of them then certainly some of them.

mms (mms), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

nasty nick was an actor! remember, as soon as he was out, he was hangning with his buddy Brad Pitt.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart is the Xander. Emma is the Buffy. yeah, it's fucked up that way.

Vanessa thinks she is the Buffy AND the Xander

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i forgot about the most classic moment of tonight's show.

THAT WAS AWESOME. Emma can be annoying and cretinous, but far less so than Victor... and you just want to give Emma a hug when she's upset (the Jade Goodier scene was simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking), whereas I can quite understand anyone who wants to tear Victor's head off.

she did flip the tray at him, from about a foot away, an escalation of the food / wine throwing, and then turned and walked away. by the time he got hold of the tray she was a good yard or so away and he heaved it at her with a good deal more force, edge on too. that, i feel, is when it got too violent.

Yes, Emma was very much in the giggling/teasing mode until then - Victor was more annoyed, but it was when he threw the tray at her after she'd stopped the teasing and was walking away that she absolutely flipped.

The fight was really reminiscent of playground bullying, the 'tough guys' ganging up on the sissies - Jason got most incensed when he thought Marco was 'taunting' him, and he seemed almost offended that the Camp Camp didn't just capitulate and indeed seemed to be enjoying themselves far too much. Nadia is such a stirrer though.

When I watch Victor I sometimes feel like Emma in the bedsit, clenching my fists and muttering dark profanities at the screen.

Emma in the bedsit with nothing but a CD player = she's the best off out of all of them!

Will Ahmed win because everyone including the housemates has forgotten he still exists?

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, Emma was very much in the giggling/teasing mode until then

For giggling/teasing, add 'taunting'. Come on - I love Emma as much as the next man, but she'd made no bones about going back into the house to cause trouble, and did so, very effectively.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

uh, i hate Emma.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

AT: I would have said Stuart was the Xander until last night but when Shell was in the shower on her own, and when Shell-comforting rights apparently became a catalyst for the BIG ROW re-igniting, I started to think it was all about her. Stuart MAY be the Buffy (or maybe Stuart & Michelle (nice initials) are the Buffy).

Tim (Tim), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

can anyone explan this Buffy stuff to non-Buffers?

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

nasty nick has been taking acting lessons actually, and journalism ones...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Dan might be forgotten about amongst all the fighting in the house.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry Greg, this is old ILEism rather than strictly Buffyism. Try here: who is the bez and who is the xander: movie dept

If PP's right then Dan may be the Bez. It's tempting to say Ahmed's the Bez but I'm not sure he can be.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

eviction postponed, according to Digital spy! still dan and vanessa, but it'll now be next week. And apparently emma and victor are to meet

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I enjoyed reading over that thread again. I still find Buffy / Xander / Bez a useful little device for thinking about TV.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Fucking hell at this rate there will still be ten housemates left by the final.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer to think of Big Brother housemates in terms of England players.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh i like the idea of emma & victor meeting, but I am still unsure why he is in the house & not being punished & Emma is. It doesn't make sense to me.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

But yes, evicting one of the peacemakers might be a silly thing to do at this juncture.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

funny how people are saying last night's editing was against emma. i thought it was a lot more sympathetic to her than to the guys. just sayin'.

i hope this "agendas stipulated in housemates' contracts" thing isn't true. i will stop watching if it is.

postponing the eviction sounds sensible in the circs. i was surprised to say the least that C4 were intent on continuing as normal. DAN MUST STAY for now anyway.

zebedee (zebedee), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:34 (twenty-one years ago)

The Buffy/Xander stuff is going to become very addictive to someone new to it all. Stuart and Michelle are the Buffy, Shell is the Xander and Dan is the Bez.

PP - Emma's in the bedsit away from that cunt Victor with a load of music. I don't call that being punished at all!

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Zebedee, surely it's best to think of BB as an improvised drama series? Virtually every premise of the show => falseness of one kind or another, so why stop watching because there are contractual imperatives for some, or all?

It's not like we haven't seen "Big Brother" ie Endemol interfere in the life of the house, and it's not as if we believe that all these people are 'acting naturally', is it?

Tim (Tim), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

so 4 weeks in and we still haven't voted anyone out?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Kitten was SO the Buffy at first.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I read through that entire Bez/Xander thread, and I still can't see the distinction. Perhaps I don't understand what supernumerary means.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

- Emma's in the bedsit away from that cunt Victor with a load of music. I don't call that being punished at all!
But she is being punished in that she is away from everyone else. Just because she's got some music to listen to, doesn't mean it's not boring.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:51 (twenty-one years ago)

no, Tim. there is a big difference between improvising and agreeing to act in a particular way with the producers ab initio.

(haha TS: ornette coleman vs. wynton marsalis)

zebedee (zebedee), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma's mum: Let her go

Filed: 10:06, Day 22 by S Gartside

"Let her go.. she is rockin
she is sorry that she cannot stay
let her go, she is sorry
she's in awe but she hates herself..."

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Just because she's got some music to listen to, doesn't mean it's not boring.

I would sit there for hours! happily. especially if I was in that house.

Emma really annoys me. Victor seems violent and a psycho and is a worse person and if this wasn't an entertainment show I'd feel worse about saying Emma annoys me more, but it's the little things! Victor is good entertainment.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

But Ronan, BB have chosen the music. A slection of Wet Wet Wet, T'Pau & something else I believe. Surely that's enough to send anyone mad!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 09:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma really annoys me. Victor seems violent and a psycho and is a worse person and if this wasn't an entertainment show I'd feel worse about saying Emma annoys me more, but it's the little things! Victor is good entertainment.

I feel the opposite way - I can't stand Vicotr at all whereas Emma is very entertaining. I mean, that exchange in the Diary Room when Michelle was planning their return!

M: "ooh, they're going to get their comeuppance when we get back in"
E: "what does 'comeuppance' mean?"
M: "er... er... they're going to get reprimanded!"
E: "oh right. (pause) What does 'reprimanded' mean?"
M: (panicked look at Big Brother) "er... ewr.. told off!"

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

This is quite an interesting article on the fight
http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,14173,1241876,00.html

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Lex - that's what I mean about Emma's comic timing, it's just too good!

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

That article refers to Jason tipping over the table, but I thought it was now agreed that it was Nadia who did this?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

So, Nadia wants to press charges against Vanessa, as she 'lunged' at her...

and Shell had a friend in to reassure her and calm her down...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

"gimp boy gollum", jesus.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, to be fair, he was going "oooh, Jason my pretty..."

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Great article. However, it goes further to confuse me in that I am still baffled as to why Victor & Jason are still in the house. Also, they are talking about influencing ppl's nominations, isn't this against BB rules & why Nasty Nick was thrown out?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I think if Marco was taunting me the urge to punch him would be extremely strong, and I'm not exactly a violent person. He reminds me of "the Nanny", Fran Drescher.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Emma in the bedsit because she was the one who was easiest and most convenient to move? I don't think she's being singled out for 'punishment', more that they have to separate her from Victor and Jason, and it was easier to move her. I do hope she's OK in there though, she went bonkers last time and now she's on her own!

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The urge to punch Marco is strong at all times Ronan, but Jason's reaction was extremely cuntish.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

10.53: Victor asks Vanessa whether she has made up with Nadia. Vanessa says yes - they had a little chat last night.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Precisely. I think the least they could do would be to put Michelle back in there with her.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Michelle kept well out of the whole fight didn't she? Left it to Emma.

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

What was the Nadia vs Vanessa about? The show last night showed Nadia hitting Vanessa with a 'pie' on the arse, and Vanessa laffing. That's the last we saw until Vanessa/shell cuddle and vanessa lashing at Nadia.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

From Digital Spy, I gather that everyone else has made up and all except Victor appear suitably contrite.

Michelle was too busy being possessive with Stuart.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah i think it was just as well. Still i think they should have put either Jay or Victor is the bedsit as they are just winding each other up!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Michelle's whole part in the proceedings was hilarious. Geeing up Igor Emma for rad vengeance, then sloping off and just smooching with Stuart.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently, Nadia and Marco kept trying to comfort Shell, who told them to go away. Marco got the hint, Nadia didn't, then Vanessa started to speak to Shell, who responded back, Nadia accused Vanessa of being "false", and so Vanessa just pushed her away to basically stop her upsetting Shell.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor seems a bit contrite, if not suitably.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

The betting exchanges have been a damn flurry of activity, something like £200,000 bet in the past few days. Stuart's moving in as clear favourite, and Victor's odds are drifting like flotsam.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Shell's in a very weird place, ally-wise. I'm not surprised she keeps cracking up.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Her one friend being Vanessa, who's probably going to go, particularly if the voting's extended a whole week...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Odds on Betfair:

Stuart 4.6
Shell 5.4
Daniel 6.2
Marco 9.2
Emma 12
Michelle 18
Jason 18.5
Nadia 29
Victor 38
Vanessa 44
Ahmed 65
Any other housemate: 16

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Any other housemate? OK, I'll bet on the snooker player Dennis Taylor being the winner. But 16/1 seems crummy odds.

It's actually 15/1, it's done in the American decimal odds system.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 18 June 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I watched this last night and found it really sad. Tehy're all screaming menkos, and at the risk of being a hata, can't for the life of me see what is remotely attractive about watching them. It's like watching a kids playground only the kids have slightly better manners and less ridiculous affectations.

Roger Scruton (daveb), Friday, 18 June 2004 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

"less ridiculous"

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 18 June 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Next year you will be able to TXT in who/when you want to poke someone with a stick and there'll be a massive magnifying glass that you can fiddle with to try and singe their wings/clothes when it's sunny

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Friday, 18 June 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently, there were seven million people watching this last night going "Who watches this?"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

That's right. It's only threads like this that made me bloody interested. Bah humbug. I only like it when people fall in love.

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 18 June 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma loves Victor but is shy and can only show her affection by hating him.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 June 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

And throwing trays!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 18 June 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason wanders through the garden in the background - he still hasn't got dressed. Victor comes over and they briefly speak. He comes over to the hot-tub to talk to Michelle - sound is dipped.

It's about the costumes from Wednesday night - he's unhappy that he and Victor ended up in the silly costumes. He argues that it wasn't actually a task - she explains it was. She blames Emma for picking the costumes. That boy certainly hasn't calmed down yet. I wonder if he knows they were responsible for his bed egging yet? Jason wanders off again, unhappy.

Two words: what a prick.

Bloodclaart Gangsta Youth Club (don), Friday, 18 June 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Three words: Were you expecting different?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(They have been told no eviction tonight.. Now from DS)

Victor asks Dan what he thinks will happen. Dan says "well I think tjhey didn't expect it to get as out of hand as it did". He wonders if someone will be brought in to replace Emma. He wonders if she's been evicted already. Victor says he doesn't want " that girl back" - the problem is her not him, he insists. Shell and Van say if she is evicted he should be too. He's getting het up again. Sound is dipped. He really can't see that he played a part in it too. Wish we could hear this discussion! I really can't see the talks between E and V solving anything - both are too stubborn to back down.

Victor thinks he'll be sent home too. Vanessa wonders if they are keeping them apart for both of them to calm down. V says it won't work as E won't change, she'll just flip again. "I've been attacked twice in here" "If she comes back I'm gonna be attacked again - one week won't change that". Van says she thinks it will be difficult to find a conclusion to this, and the producers probably don't know what to do yet. He's not willing to listen to their suggestion that he has a part to play - he needs to diffuse the situation, not react to it. He denies him having any responsibility.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Stu leaves the DR and calls to "V-man". He has asked if they can get Victor a baddies cowboy outfit.

OMG!

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

ha ha ha ha :

Stu and Shell are in the kitchen, but sound is cut on their conversation. The pair seem to be preparing food of some kind; Shell empties an awful-looking shepherds pie from its baking dish.

Shell: "I think Daniel's achievement is that he did some sort of singing or remixed a track."

The pair run to the bathroom, along with Vanessa, to ask him. In the shower, he confesses that he's in Icehouse Project and toured with Atomic Kitten, Sugababes and Busted..

Stu: "Wow.... Busted? Really?"

Everyone makes their way to the kitchen and start eating their pies; Victor is silent as he swivels on a kitchen stool with a steak and kidney pie.

Shell: "Victor, I got Dan's secret, he's the lead singer of a band that's worked with really col groups."
Stu: "I can't believe it, Busted. That's the most amazing thing I ever heard in my life."

chris (chris), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:14 (twenty-one years ago)

It's just like ILE.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

The only "Icehouse Project" I can come up with s a heavy metal band... So far...

But, Icehouse were "Hey little girl" back in the eighties... NZ I believe.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Icehouse made "Crazy", the only perfect song ever.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Icehouse Project to have massive single post-BB, anyone?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Just like Dean's band did?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Did Dean's band tour with Busted? No. QED.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

ha. i forgot about Dean. damn, he was an interesting fellow.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Incidentally, I might try telling people that I've been on tour with Busted. I have a picture of Charlie on my cameraphone so might actually get away with it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

We used to get flyers for Dean's band back when I did the listings for the uni paper in Brum. They never made it in.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

So - if Dan was in a band.... Dan ------> Bez, right??

___ (___), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, he drew that logo in his 'draw a picture of yourself using coloured crayons' psychomentric test thing that they analysed on bblb a couple of days ago.

koogs (koogs), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i saw James from Busted in Southend TWICE on two seperate bank holidays. good to see he gets bank hols off like us proles. this was before i got cameraphone, bah. once he was in the same restaurant as me, the other time he was in the pub across the road. magic.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 18 June 2004 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Stuart's excitement at the busted revelation is hilarious!

jed_ (jed), Friday, 18 June 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

So I stayed up reading my book and had channel 4 on in the background last night. Victor was in the diary room for over half an hour and then the programme ended. Does anyone know what he was saying to bb in there?

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 18 June 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

xander=nadia, right down to the revelation in the final frame...

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 18 June 2004 21:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Looks like Emma is STILL not in the house proper on the live feed tonight. Are they going to keep her there for the rest of the time? Even though I really don't like her, that does seems quite one-sided. But on the other hand, she *is* likely incite the other "camp camp" peeps.

gizmo (gizmo), Friday, 18 June 2004 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

After she'd been given the formal warning, Emma was all like "yeah but can I stay in here a bit longer, I've got music!" I love her even more.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 June 2004 08:29 (twenty-one years ago)

"What's a formal warning?"

Ste (Fuzzy), Saturday, 19 June 2004 08:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes! Love that girl.

Jason doesn't seem to understand the concept of an apology. "Sorry for being aggressive but it was YOUR fault I got violent", wtf? Nadia was surprisingly great about it all. Has Victor actually said sorry to ANYONE?

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 June 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason's a weirdo. I do not like the creepy way he keeps following Vanessa into a confined space and then blocking her exit from it while asking her for a kiss. It's stalkerish and scary, and I agree that his apology was the most pathetic thing ever.

I think that the only person Victor really owes an apology to is Emma, and he has already said that if she comes out the whole thing will just kick off again, so I don't think he's feeling too apologetic.

I really liked Lauren Laverne's take on Emma and Michelle: "like an eight year-old looking after her five year-old sister". Great.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Saturday, 19 June 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

jason keeps breaking the law.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 June 2004 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma to be evicted tomorrow according to The Sun ...erm, i only looked at it in the newsagents whie i was buying the Guardian ;)

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 19 June 2004 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

The whole Jason humping Vanessa all the time is just wrong and gross. Please make it stop big brother. pleaze.

It is also really annoying how Vanessa keeps teasing him on though. I guess she has to amuse herself before she gets axed.

The whole masturbation dialogue last night in the bedroom was amusing. Wonder if that will make it to prime time edits show tomorrow? haha.

gizmo (gizmo), Saturday, 19 June 2004 10:32 (twenty-one years ago)

"This is Big Brother. Housemates are reminded that they must not discuss the auditions"
"We're not. We're talking about wanking"

zebedee (zebedee), Saturday, 19 June 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma will go down in history as the only person too fucking thick to be on Big Brother.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Saturday, 19 June 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

emma out!! that seems really, really harsh to me.

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 19 June 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

What for??

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 19 June 2004 16:56 (twenty-one years ago)
http://bigbrother.channel4.com/bigb...ory.jsp?id=5905
Emma has left, or is leaving, the BB house. Confirmed by Channel 4.

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Saturday, 19 June 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Apologies for the broken link. Here is Channel 4's official word re. Emma:

"Channel 4 and Big Brother production company, Endemol, have confirmed that Big Brother contestant Emma will not be returning to the House.

A spokesman for the show said: "We don't think Emma is any more to blame for the events of Wednesday night than anyone else, but we believe this is the best course of action to ensure the welfare and safety of all the housemates, including Emma.

"The house is calm as all the other housemates appear to be working through their issues, but we're concerned that Emma's return might increase the risk of a repeat incident.

"Emma has accepted our decision."

Come back to the website soon to catch all the latest news from the remaining housemates... "

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Very harsh to decide to give her a formal warning and then change their minds and kick her out.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Like I said, she's too stupid for Big Brother. I feel sorry for her, it's like not being able to figure out breathing, or something.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel Emma has been shown the door because of genuine concerns of how she would cope back in the house. Besides, she probably wouldn't generate as much voting revenue for Channel 4 as Jason or Victor.

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Poor Emma. The worst thing is, that cunt Victor will interpret this as a kind of victory for himself and be all deluded and superior again. Ugh.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick, she didn't understand what the formal warning was when they gave it to her. She doesn't know how to nominate. She really is like a kid. Her biggest problem now is that she has been in solitary confinement for two days. I wouldn't be surprised if Channel 4 were advised not to put her back into the house. It would just fuck her up.

I was impressed to see that the masturbation conversation did make it into the edited show. And that Jason is as much of a creep as ever. I really hate that guy. He will be getting my one vote this year.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Saturday, 19 June 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

sometimes I act like I don't know things.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 June 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus Nick, you want her to be thrown to the lions? Have a heart.

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 20 June 2004 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 20 June 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Davina: "So what have you learned in the house?"
Emma: "Nothing!"

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 20 June 2004 20:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor should've been thrown out too.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 20 June 2004 20:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Hearing Emma speak continues to be fascinating, she barely uses language in the conventional sense but conveys so much - all those cute noises she makes in place of words! I really love her.

Thoughts on this NOTW story which alleges lots of scandal-type things inc. that Victor pulled a knife on Emma?

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 20 June 2004 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus Christ. That article basically starts at "BEWARE THE CRAZY NIGGER!!!!!" and proceeds to get worse.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 20 June 2004 21:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Beware the president of his university's African and Caribbean society!

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 20 June 2004 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

It has been very irritating that the tabloids' blanket coverage of BB has been so filled with contempt for all within the house.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 20 June 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Tabloid machine eats up fame-desiring menkos* shockah!

*Should add here that I think the desire for celebrity status is nigh-on psychotic, and thus those wnating to be in BB are borderline menko. A sweeping generalisation obviously.

Dave B (daveb), Sunday, 20 June 2004 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Obv. being on a show like Big Brother = all about the end prize, just like being on Road Rules = free extreme sports trip and being on the Real World = free lodging at a ridiculous place in some fantastic city.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 20 June 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i agree with lex - Emma was incredible in the interview. Her warmth and humour is conveyed my means other than words. okay so she's a bit nuts but she reminds me of some good fun girls i know, it's a shame she is out of the house, its much duller without her.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 20 June 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

also Julio OTM.
