More boring news for Londoners (FAP Friday 19th November - Pineapple, Kentish Town)

Since I haven't been to London in ages and I have holiday to use up, I think I may well come down for a little visit on the weekend of the 19th/20th/21st November.

So, you know, just let me know if anything is going and n shit innit.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Judging by the thread title I thought this was going to be about the congestion charge or something.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally FAP! I have holidays to use up, maybe I'll go too so you have someone to FAP with, even if it is someone that can never even be arsed to go into Glasgow to have a pint with you.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was going to be about bendy buses or the tube...

I'm the worst FAPper ever, but I'm sure things'll get arranged!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Should I make this more exciting, somehow?

I WILL BRING PRESENTS FOR EVERYONE!!!*

* Presents not guaranteed.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

(please excuse my abysmal sentence construction up there, by the way. Ally C, can I derail your thread to ask if you are going to the pub tonight?)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

You will have to find a pub to watch the Old Firm game in that weekend.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

will be very ice to see you again allycook

Senor Embargo (blueski), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The John Bock show at the ICA is doubleplusgood if you like crawling around hay lofts and along high plywood corridors. (And art.)

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Almost my favourite pastime.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it a pre-birthday celebration Ally?

Towelette Pettatucci (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, it KINDA IS!

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, I probably SHOULD have titled this differently. Oh well.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't worry Ally. What'll happen is: nearer the time, approximately 40 other FAPs interspersed with visits to modern-style "clubs" will be organised, and the resultant migraine-inducing confusion will be sufficient to ensure that everyone turns up to all of them for fear they miss something out. Thus ensuring a convivial and cosmopolitan social aura!!

I will come if you promise to let me have a River City plot update.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

He's right, y'know.

I'm pretty sure I can come to this. Tuesday or Wednesday would be preferable to the Thursday from my point of view as I have to go to France the next day and would rather not be knackered and hungover.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Marcello OTM. It makes me think that we could have been freidns if it wasn't for all the... unpleasantness.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

you don't HAVE to get hungover y'know Matt...

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes but I WANT to.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I will make one of my 'special efforts' to meet Ally C, early doors. I would like to see his legendary football skills. Is this the weekend Exeter play Burton?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 7 October 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I fully expect to, somehow, contrive to never meet Peter. It's been too long, now. If I do, I expect there to be fanfares of some kind.

Oh, and Matt - uh, what are you talking about?

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I am talking NONSENSE is what I am talking. I looked at my calendar and somehow thought we were talking about October.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 October 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

OK good. Revise your position.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

My revised position is that any of those three days are good but a Friday or Saturday would be the bestest for obvious reasons.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 October 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

What? Because people are more likely to be busy with other things and not turn up, leaving Ally C all to you?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 7 October 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Jealousy will get you nowhere, Nick.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer midweek FAPs. But I am just the FAPtrarian.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, but what about crossrail or crosslink or crosscomuters or railrage or whatever they're calling that new tube? Huh?

Danger Whore (kate), Friday, 8 October 2004 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, I will now certainly be in London when I said I would probably be in London.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I preferred that trembling state of affairs when you were merely probably going to be in London.

I'm not serious. Where are you staying?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 11 October 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I have, as yet, no idea.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 11 October 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
OK. I will be in London on Friday. So will Phil! I think.

Let me know what y'all are doing. Or, if you know you don't like me or think I am crushingly boring, don't.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 14 November 2004 17:44 (twenty-one years ago)

fridays, I get up at noon, go to a lecture, at two, start drinking, at half past three, and be very drunk, by seven, and keep drinking, until closing, and embarrass myself, in front of people I respect.

maybe I should come to london, for a change.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 14 November 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Dr C has a gig on Friday, and I am tempted by that. An Ally C FAP would be strong competition, though.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 14 November 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

yes yes i'll be there on friday too. saturday is akufen and andrew weatherall. i think miss kittin too. not sure.

phil-two (phil-two), Sunday, 14 November 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

A FAP is mandatory then, with two star guests in town.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 14 November 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Why not a FAP at the gig?

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 14 November 2004 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Bull & Gate FAP seems like the best option... I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make this as the whole weekend is kind of up in the air at the moment but hopefully I'll see Ally and Phil at some point during their stay.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 14 November 2004 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

what gig is this?

phil-two (phil-two), Sunday, 14 November 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Dr. C bringing the rock

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 14 November 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Friday FAP is U&K, indeed.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 14 November 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey Ally, I might possibly go to London for a knees up but I'll have to see how I am as I have the cold. Haven't been to London for years. Couldn't make it on Saturday, which is a pity. Was hoping to witness the return of the Mack. How did it go?

KeithW (kmw), Sunday, 14 November 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

It was great! Packed. Please come to London. It will make evrything fall into place.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 00:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I would have come last night, had I known it was on. Possibly.

I am not going to be able to afford London this year, unless me and the mister go between Christmas and New Year when we are both off work.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 November 2004 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Cool, I will try.

I will need to rouse the robots to make an appearance.

KeithW (kmw), Monday, 15 November 2004 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Robots are U&K. That is still going then?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 00:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The Pinefox and I are going to see Terry Eagleton, Frank Kermode, Andrew O'Hagan, Zadie Smith and James Wood on that night. :(

Are you still planning on being in town for the whole weekend?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:41 (twenty-one years ago)

we might make a quick fap on Friday but are away the rest of the weekend (and getting an 8am ferry, so late night is not an option) :o(

Porkpie (porkpie), Monday, 15 November 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ally and phil, you're coming with me to my friends' thing at fabric on friday night.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 15 November 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

(We like it when she demands)

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

And yes, I will be around until Monday. Possibly going to see Go! Team on Saturday night, but I'll be seeing them in Glasgow so not urgent if anything else is happening.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Can we say earlyish FAP of some kind on Friday before I am whisked away to wherever?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

it will be FUN. it's kinda optimo-esque but less "dance" music.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

can i come?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

no.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

fair enough

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

of course you can, duh. you had fun when you came with us last time, yes?

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

what is all this whisking that's going on? i don't fancy lily's chances of finding my house in the dark on his own at whenever o'clock in the morning these young-person's shennanigans go on until...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 15 November 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey people - come to the gig. It would be great to meet some new ILXers.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 15 November 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

of course you can, duh. you had fun when you came with us last time, yes?

how can you flip-flop on such critical issues? we'll discuss this further on friday...

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 15 November 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we'll be on abt 9.30 ish. Plenty of time for ale beforehand and club after?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 15 November 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Dr. C speaks wisdom here, people.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 15 November 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

This could work. I'm sure I will have fun. Lauren lives fairly close to Le Carsmile, no? I wonder if she has any floor space?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

OK!

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i do live near, yes. there is floor space, but you'll have to share with phil. he's cute; it could be worse. plus, i make good omelettes.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

black anus, Tuesday, 16 November 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, REALLY good omelettes.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

jealous jealous again.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I am all about the eggs. But no cheese, pleese.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

slumber party!

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

let's play spin the bottle!

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

sans the spittle

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 10:46 (twenty-one years ago)

It's at times like this I wish I didn't sleep naked.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally Cook. I have a lot of free time but not much credit on my phone, so you should call me when you are here. Otherwise you might not see me and I know you'd never forgive yourself if that happened.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

and, Ally Cook, are you wanting to do Go Team gig with a bunch of us on the Saturday?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Alix, I will call you. I was going to, anyway.

Steve - yes I probably would like to go to that.

Will anyone be around for drinking from 4pm on Friday?

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

if you're on AIM, I will be around.

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

What a cop out.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I finish work at 5pm, in the centre, so will be available after that.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

hello lily

i can maybe (verging on definitely) knock off a bit early (although i do fear the ruin this may bring). um, are you staying at mine or what then? just asking like :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Make some fucking plans, people!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I can come out and play on Friday now. Hooray.

Although I will probably Gareth it up and go home first and then stay on for Fabric.

Can we please FAP in a pub that is near the Bull and Gate but not actually the B&G itself? We can wander over for Dr. C and friends but it'll save us having to shout over whoever is on beforehand.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, I think that is a very good idea. I do not know pubs in that area.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Kentish Town is a bit of a desert for good pubs in my experience, but The Pineapple is meant to be decent enough. Any objections?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Best thing about my new found power = I can finally put proper pub information in the FAP thread titles.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

the pineapple is indeed a lovely pub, doubt I'll make it though, the ferry's at 8 on Saturday morning :o(

Porkpie (porkpie), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

That's all the recommendation I need. Pineapple it is.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Great! I'll be there, circa 6pm.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

OK! Yeah, Steve I would like to stay at yours, but we shall have to see where we will both be come late night. Ta!

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

**We can wander over for Dr. C and friends but it'll save us having to shout over whoever is on beforehand**

But you can stay in the pub bit during the suppt bands. That's where I'll be! You can't even hear them! And there's ................ a pool table!!!

Anyway, if the Pineapple it is, I will prob come and join you for a bit before we play. We're on around 10 I think, but of course soundcheck is very early so I might pop in around 7 ish.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Woo! The Pineapple! Best stake out a largish area - it gets packed very quickly. But it's not the Bull&Gate, thank the little baby Jaysus. Will see whoever's there for a pint or two after work. Then perhaps Captain Nemo's Fish Bar.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

(Matt, note that the late-night festivities are at Plastic People, not Fabric)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

where is this 'go team' business going on?

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh The Pineapple is my local.

But I am going to an LRB litewawy event that evening.

Nevertheless, I can be there for 4.30pm, for an hour or two.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:46 (twenty-one years ago)

please, do not get ally too drunk as phil and i need him to dance later on that night.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Rob, Go!Team is SATURDAY at FROG at THE MEAN FIDDLER. i suppose we'd better think about organising that too...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 18 November 2004 10:54 (twenty-one years ago)

What is Go!Team and will I like it?

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I am very sad that a litewawy event trumps rock and roll.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the sound of JtN's Early Start; with mucho domestic nonsense goin' on later (this doesn't mean the missus and I will be chucking crockery at each other before someone calls the bizzies) I can't stay late either. P'raps 5ish.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost

Me too, Doc - I was looking forward to witnessing your RnR majesty... but I bought the tickets weeks ago :(

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.thegoteam.co.uk/

yes.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Go! Teaming people will be emailed shortly.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

What? What? We have to meet somewhere other than at the B&G? this sounds very very confusing to me. I'm scared of Kentish Town, the last time we were there someone in our party got mugged on the way to the aftershow.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Kentish Town is not scary! Look at the ponces that live there.

The FAP is at the Pineapple, and there will be an excursion among some of us to go over and see Dr C and friends at 10ish.

(Rob and RickyT - do these email addresses actually work?)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

But I'm sleeping in the B&G tonight? I'm scared of Kentish Town and not leaving walking about in it!

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Kentish Town is bloody terrifying, but have fun chooks

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

(Yes Matt - mine is a genuine bonafide email address)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 18 November 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

(Mine works. I have just heard Go!Team on the radio, and they sounded ace, btw.)

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 18 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes they are ace. I hope I can find the Guava OK. I will look it up. Will I have JTN all to myself for half an hour? Extraordinary.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Cookie - we will meet. Yes?

JtN - I don't know if that LRB thing will go on all night, unless Wood and Smith come to blows.

I am starting to make it sound intewwesting.

the bellefox, Thursday, 18 November 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

We'll meet. Again. Don't know.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

If I make it up on Saturday, where can I watch the Old Firm game? And will anyone watch with me?

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 18 November 2004 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Have a fun trip Ally C!

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 19 November 2004 00:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks, Cathy L!

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 19 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

What I said on the other thread :

So it's tonight! I am looking forward to seeing lots of ILXers, new and old. Don't forget to print out the Collina flyer above to get a quid off. I'll be in the B&G from 6 ish until we play at around 10ish, but I'll come over to the Pineapple after the soundcheck to see who's around. If anyone fancies a game of pool we can do that at the B&G at some point. See you later!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 19 November 2004 08:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I meant this one :

FAG : FRIDAY NOV 19th

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 19 November 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

fuckin hell whats up with kentish town. i was there 10 years ago and nothing scary (i lived nearby, gf worked there, had to collect her from work late at night on foot, no probs)

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

is Rios nudist club still there?

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I think a moderator should do our googling for us and post a FAP/Beerintheeevensongtide link to the Pineapple for those of us who have no idea where the f#ck it is, innit!

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

if you read the thread dude......

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't come to ILx to read the threads, old man!

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Do a CTRL-F search for 'Pineapple' - its linked in its first mention on this thread.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't come to ILx to press CTRL-F, young tyke!

Anyway I googled it myself. It looks like it could be insufferably smug inside. But I'm insufferably smug myself so hey ho.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Here is the Pineapple: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/1693/Pineapple/Kentish_Town

Rio's nudist club is still there, yes.

Re: the scariness of Kentish Town. I have worked here for four years and always found it quite scary. Lots of mad people patrol the High Street, and on Sundays you have the horror of drunk Aussies rampaging post Church at the Forum. But since living here for the last 3 months I've found that the scariness is pretty much confined to Kentish Town Road, and once you get off the main drag it is (whisper it)... quite posh.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Jerry the Nipper: Are you going to be in this here 'Pineapple' at 4.30? If so, I might come. Jonesy at 5, Skidders at 6, Ally C at ??? I will have to go home before the Doc unleashes his rock fury though.

I have Children's BBC on in the background. It's so Balamory can get me in the mood for Ally C. Why isn't Madchen coming? It's rubbish without her.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I will wear the leather jacket my brother gave me. It's kinda Dennis Waterman.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, that was a thread killer.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ally c 4ish apparently PJ, me hopefully 5ish (it appears my boss is in meetings all day so knocking off a bit early should be ok ;))

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I suppose I am pretty rubbish compared to Madchen, but you can only work with the tools available.

Peter, I will be there from 4pm or so, depending on planes and trains and tubes. If we ended up, finally, after all these dead centuries, in the same pub, together, would we know who we were?

You will have to sing 'I Could Be So Good For You' if you spot me.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 19 November 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

OK. I look like this, only less beardy:

http://photos.friendster.com/photos/56/32/2432365/656446273528s.jpg

I don't know if that works.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be there at 4.30... possibly before. I both live and work within 100 yards of this pub, and it is already a v slow day in the office.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be missing this Summit Meeting because I will be in Zone 7 for the weekend. This will hurt me much, much more than it will hurt you.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure Carsmile Steve and his Magical Recognising Powers will save you both.

I am quite excited about the sheer volume of fun on offer this weekend.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

the pineapple sounds like a name for a students bar. but the David Gray on CD player makes up for it! see yous there.. probably more like 6 than 5. or maybe 7.. to go home or to not go home for dinner first ho hum... although there's always kentish delight.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm having the same debate, ken - i might just go straight there, but FOOD before BOOZE is a mantra i try to live by

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

and i haven't been to the bull and gate since year 2001! (new years eve!) i can't remember whether the place was good or bad at all.. i hope to be just/not as drunk tonight

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm contemplating scoffing down a microwave meal from sainsburys at work before showing up.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't know there was a zone 7. Where is it, Woking?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

ah, kentish delight...

there's always the ethiopian (the one that used to be eritrean) on the corner as well, numnum wot...

(the b&g is as grotty as it's always been, i was there about 6 months ago)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

My day might go a bit smoother if someone could explain to me (in a way that I could then relate to a non-English speaker) why a T4-stop on a movie camera lens is "as much as you can get away with without upsetting the artists." I'm not starting a thread for it.

It's looking like 5:30 for me at the Left-Legged. I'm investigating bus options now.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Bus options? What is the best way from, say, Trafalgar Square? And where am I likley to be accosted by Pudssey Bear fetishists?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i think i shall be along at some point, too. two nights in a row at the b+g!

toby (tsg20), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Trafagar square, you want the northern line from charing cross.

Ed (dali), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I may intrude on your manly gathering around 5:30, as the library kicks me out at 5 and I've got nowhere else to go but home far far away.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

134 goes from TCR to warren st. to camden to kentish town.. if that helps.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

The Pineapple does very nice food, FYI, but avoid the fishcakes.

C2 from Oxford Circus or the 134 from Tottenham Court Road are probably your best bus bets, if you prefer not to take the Northern Line.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

and there are a few buses that go from trafalgar to TCR (e.g. 29 or 24)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I finish here at three, I'm tempted to nip over for a quick pint.

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Kentish Town terrifying? Eh? I'm forever stumbling around there, kebab in hand, at 2 O'Clock in the morning - but they know better than to mess with Da Tuffers Posse!

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

to be honest the last time i was there was just the day after some poor kid got stabbed to death outside the station after getting on the wrong train, so my judgement was affected thusly (could've happened anywhere i suppose)

might be there later, still not sure what's happening

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I cannot believe you all are having a fap in my ends without me. :(

cis (cis), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I might show up. In my neck of the woods. No gig for me tho.

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris, you are so there. Leaving now!

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 19 November 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

134, 134, 134...

I know about the Northern Line, but at some point I always get confused. I don't suppose it's that difficult though.

I'm not sure about the Dennis Waterman jacket, it mighty cold out there.

Yes, come along, Porkpie. I will bring Duelling Banjos.

I will aim to be there between 4 and 4.30.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Cis, hop on the Ox Tube! You have to help me and sgs battle against the manliness of the gathering. You can bug yr mum for home cooking on Saturday morning.

I am intrigued by this Watermanly jacket. I am wearing tweed.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going for the Lloyd Cole look: black polo neck, slight stubble, intense yet sensitive look on my face.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, 134 for me too. Since going Straight Edge Top-Up on my Oyster I'm saving a fair bit of cash from the number of buses that simply don't have functioning Oystercard readers. I should pay my 70p, I suppose, but I think that's taking the conscience thing too far. By not taking the Tube I can buy someone an extra pint.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

You bastard, you stole my look. I'll have to shave now. xpost

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

There's only room for one Lloyd Cole in the world.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

he's not that fat

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

70p? you are living in the past.

i will try and leave work about 6ish but it'll probably take me over an hour to get there. why is north london so far from everywhere?

koogs (koogs), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

The Pineapple used to be our local - wish it still was...
It used to have a really hardcore group of regulars sitting around the bar, always in the same chairs. Then it nearly closed down a few years ago and there was a campaign to save it. It's been done up a bit now, but it's still a nice old pub.

I don't know any of you, and I'm going to some birthday drinks up the road in Tufnell Park this evening, but I'd just like to mention that the Buff Medways are playing their usual monthly gig @ the Dirty Water Club (Boston Arms) later that evening, about 5-10 minutes walk from the Pineapple, just turn left when you come out and keep walking up the hill to Tufnell Park :-)

thomas, Friday, 19 November 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't go ANYWHERE NEAR the Boston. It's a trap!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It's still 70p anywhere with an Oystercard, Koogs; I guess there's my conscience-salving excuse: the driver wouldn't be able to issue me with a 70p paper ticket in lieu of my failed Oyster scan, so no point asking (just pretend it's got a season ticket loaded on it).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

koogs in promotion for the oyster top up, they're still charging last years rates if you use oyster!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

get the Silverlink Metro/North London doodah, don't buy a ticket, stick it to the mang

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

oops xpost

aw my flatmate and i went to the boston a few months ago and they had one of those bands that play irish music with washerboards playing.. they were good!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

The Boston is a shit bar. Really dire.

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

is the Jorene Celeste still there? that was quite a nice place.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It is Ken. Does v. good Sunday lunches. Mmm.

robster (robster), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

That's still there. Never been it. Looks nice.

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

so you save 30p but they get to TRACK YOUR EVERY MOVE. bargain. 8)

koogs (koogs), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to be home in time for Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Peep Show is repeated the following week, which is useful

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't come, I have no wallet, no travel card, nothing aopart from enough money tro get me home. Where I have to pack and load the dishwasher.

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

silly chris

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I won't bring it then.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken, pi$$ off, kthanxbye

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 19 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

aw, ally has so many friends.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

It's Jodie Foster's 42nd birthday - I was already going to the pub to celebrate anyway, I just needed an excuse. And it helps not to be alone, like all the other times.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

It is? Gosh. I must finally accept that she will never be mine. Looking good on 42 though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

RJG (RJG), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm probably coming along for some of this as well, haven't seen people in ages...

colette (a2lette), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

indeed, oh elusive one

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Right, I'm off now! I've got my camera! And some spare batteries!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i've seen you guys only once since the last Freaky Trigger (when i turned up at 9:30..). i blame this on GTA3

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

see, GTA3 could be some kind of interweb slang ala PWN3D. do you have a friend called Geta or something?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i've also been a bit of a recluse of late, and i'm looking forward to tonight. see y'all later!

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

You lot see each other every other week! That's pretty good going for teh London.

My Son Calls Another Man Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

**It's Jodie Foster's 42nd birthday**

And my 43rd! Pool - yes. Is there pool in the Pine4pple? If not B&G has a table of course.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Mike manages to be funny on Jodie Foster for at least the 6th year in succession.

Cookie, watching football, on TV, is something that you and I could do, some time.

the bluefox, Friday, 19 November 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Mike manages to be funny on Jodie Foster for at least the 6th year in succession.

I've always been funny on her. I was really daft on her for a bit.

I think she's reached a point in her career where a spell on the London stage would do her the world of good. I'm going to suggest my musical version of Get Some In! (entitled Get Some In!!) at the Penge Alhambra, where I take the Tony Selby role, to her agent. I written in a part for a bird.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

How far in advance is it decorum to organise a FAP? Can I have a tripleunderscore moves to London FAP in January?

3underscore (___), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes you can. Start a thread!

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Tony Selby still around?

De Doo Doo Doo De Da Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

He played Barry Jackson in The Bill as recently as June.

He doesn't post here any more, if that's what you meant.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll bet he's a lurker

De Doo Doo Doo De Da Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes anyway I'll be along but work is k-busy so may not be as early doors as I wd like sadly. I second Liz in encouraging Cis to be an utter mentalist and get the Ox tube!

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah cis it's saturday tomorrow!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall be along to this by 7pm, though I can't stay long. And I'm feeling distinctly ill. Cis must certainly get the Oxford Tube!

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

bring your computer along the lex so we can fix it for you

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

it's fixed ken! Caitlin fixed it.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

wow! well done caitlin

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

it was literally a matter of changing one thing in the settings. Why half an hour on the phone to the BT man couldn't have sorted it out I don't know. As for Microsoft telling me they'd charge me £50 to tell me...

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 19 November 2004 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

it's because BT employ idiots for their helplines. and microsoft are money sucking leeches (and who probably won't solve your problems after you've paid £50, because they employ idiots for their helplines)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 19 November 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't come, I have no wallet, no travel card, nothing aopart from enough money tro get me home. Where I have to pack and load the dishwasher.

chris, is that not enough money to get to the pub, where someone could lend you money? i'd be happy to...

toby (tsg20), Friday, 19 November 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

the latter part is also key here old boy, especially as we're leaving the houser at half five tomorrow morning, sad as I am to miss out on such a stellar gathering

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

We will miss you, porky. When come back bring horse sausage.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

it's a gorgeous day & I have been listening to jc chasez all morning rather than the pavement album someone lent me & it is the weekend & i am HAPPY & the oxtube is £5 after 3pm and, eh, no-one does /anything/ in ox on a friday night.

Starry, if I can be a mentalist and come, so too can you!

cis (cis), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

This is going to be the best weekend ever.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I am actually TINGLING with booze need though!! Tell me about fun soft drinks I can have! And peanuts! And, I can survive this, and... !!

PS: Cis bring the JC Chasez along! I heart Mr Chasez. Even his NAME is smoove.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh wow. I'm going to have to ask one of you to do a medium-sized favour for me tonight. It's the kind of thing some people might enjoy...

(ooh good on you Cis!)

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

wow, cis! excellent.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

alix (alix), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I told you last night, doofus.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

No, you didn't. Otherwise I would have known. Anyway, fuck it.

alix (alix), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes I did! I remember telling you before you went to the shop to buy The Stuff and I said I thought there was Fabric afterwards and you said no that is next week. Come to the pub, straightlord.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

help! i thought i knew where to go, but looking at mapquest confused me. i'm on kentish town road, near the canal (with phil in tow).

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

guys, if no one responds then phil and i will have to sit in my office drinking duty-free liquor until we pass out.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeh, you said the pineapple BUT HOW THE FUCK AM I MEANT TO KNOW WHAT THAT IS? I just thought it was something you were going to on your own. I'm sick of finding out about stuff too late because noone can be bothered to remember tell me. I am in a terrible mood now. Sorry.

alix (alix), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:13 (twenty-one years ago)

leverton street is off leighton road which should be visible from the KT tube station. pineapple is 51 leverton

koogs (koogs), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

How to get to t'Pineapple, by fancyapint.com

Exit Kentish Town Tube, turn right down Leighton Road, and then immediate left down Leverton Road. Keep walking and you'll find the pub.

Apparently.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(that's what i said!)

koogs (koogs), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i have purchsed a melton mowbray pork pie from borough market, which i will consume before coming up to this 'pineapple' establishment. food before booze is a rule that i simply cannot break, and a large pork pie seems like a wise option.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

MMm pie. Starry, come to pub and I will feed you the slice of banana nut bread that is in my desk drawer.

It's actually Leverton Street according to Streetmap.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry Lixi, I did say it was a FAP and Ally was in town and I thought you said you were going to text him and get in touch, but that might not have been clear. Just come along and you can laugh at my booze-free state.

Liz, you = CHAMP.

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I went to this FAP and it was good but I went home before Dr C's rock valhalla and I wonder how it went.

Revelation of the evening: Koogy has blue eyes. I don't know why that surprises me.

Highlight of the evening: old fella playing air guitar to Queen.

When you come out of Kentish Town tube station, there's this kind of VOID, a black hole, a nothingness. I think it's the effects of a railway bridge. Anyway, it's this kind of VOID that freaks me out about London. I suppose they have them everywhere, but it doesn't seem to matter anywhere else.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 20 November 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I woke up in Dalston on Friday morning with no idea how I got there and a house full of strange Spaniards. I think the idea was that we couldn't get to the Spanish Bar so if we just brought enough Spaniards along, then it would be like the Spanish Bar in Emsk's living room. So I had a roaring hangover yesterday and couldn't move and ended up locked in Emsk's house while she went to get a Visa for Pakistan and ended up not going anywhere yesterday because I couldn't get out of the front door.

But I don't feel bad about not going to other people's FAPs/gigs/parties/etc. any more because other people never come to mine. Except for the couple of people that did, and they are excepted from my "humph".

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

They do add so much glamour to the London social scene, previously figureheaded by Gareth and his 57 varites of brown.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

(I have pix from the Greenwich meet-up two days later - I could upload them tomorrow).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I withdraw my offer.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm confused.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

gareth was not in kentish town, on friday.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I was brown, on Sunday. Stevie said I was 'Garethian', or something.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it was Reithian - you kept our Birtism in check.

I was going to post pix (I didn't strop out of doing so at Ally's portrait of a hamfaced atrocity above) but the PC was playing silly buggers last night and it was late and I needed my bed.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Now, then.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Tomorrow, perhaps.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It is tomorrow, people.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 25 November 2004 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

THE tomorrow, people?

I curse ILX for its anti-portrait bias.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Thursday, 25 November 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that Greenwich market? You might have seen my sister, she has a stall there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 25 November 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't look good, even in a flurry.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 25 November 2004 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

You'd look good, in a MacFlurry

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 25 November 2004 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Crunchie.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 26 November 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

you look like you're at school, in the first one.

I like the brown jumper, with the blue t-shirt and your face.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 26 November 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

These are true. The second one, I look OK.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 26 November 2004 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I looked at the first one in a funny way, where I saw the top of your hair as the top of your head, as if you had a very big forehead and a really straight fringe. Does that make sense? I like the second one.
