who has posted more stupid shit to ILE?

let's suspend all judgements based on intended malice here.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Calum, he can be offensive some times.

Ken C is a laugh.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

is anyone seriously upset by Ken?

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I've posted more stupid shit than either of them!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't think i could tell you a single thing ken has posted

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

That's true.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Really, we should BAN Ken C because he joined in with the ALL FUN ALL THE TIME SICK MOUTHY VERSUS STEVEM PHOTO thread, despite being neither myself or Stevem.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken C is a lot funnier, and a lot less prone to ott personal attacks. Plus, he says "pwned" a lot, and "pwned" makes me laugh.

I think I'll swap computers and either watch "once upon a time in china" or play vice city on the other non-internet box.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG ILM WAS SO MUCH BETTER IN AN UNSPECIFIED TIME BEFORE KEN C SHOWED UP.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Calum also does not post to I Love WWE, thus: no love.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't care about when ILX was better.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken's funny, I didn't realise anyone even considered him compatable to Calum.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

or if it was better.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I LOVE KEN AND WILL BUGGER ANYONE WHO SPEAKS AGAINST HIM.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

is anyone seriously upset by Ken?

You *know* the answer to this.

I think Calum is a complete and utter twat, but his posts don't upset me as much as Ken's do.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I really don't understand how Ken bothers people so much. Am I missing large chunks of his posts?

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken is a twat but Calum is so pathetic I feel sorry for him. Calum wins.

Michael B, Monday, 8 November 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, prepare to be buggered.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Wha??? Are people seriously upset by Ken C?

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken is funny! And not offensive. Unless I missed something (for what it's worth, I don't find Calum offensive either, just exceptionally tiresome).

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

OH NO! PUNS!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:31 (twenty-one years ago)

ailsa, OTM.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

finally a thread about me!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

well half of one

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't understand how anyone could be offended by Ken C.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Except me; I think he's a cunt.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

RONAN GET ONE LIFE THEN SHOVE IT UP YO ARSEY

oops (Oops), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken, get half a life.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

BUGGERY AHOY!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

ken's a dickhead

(will you bugger me now pls n/a?)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

BUGGERY FOR ALL!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

MERRY BUGGERSMAS!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll just close the dooor here on my way out. 'Night boys.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

just leave the backdoor open tho ay?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Until I recently called him on it, Ken has posted on virtually every ILE thread I've posted on, making cruel and snide attacks at me, which other people probably wouldn't notice. Oddly enough, he used to do it on Sinister too - but only started after he'd met me in person.

You can tell that he is genuinely doing it, and that it's not just me being paranoid, because he *hasn't* done it on the occasional threads that I've started anonymously.

(I imagine - but I'm not sure - that it's him who has persuaded everyone else to no longer invite me into the AIM chatroom, even though they used to, and even though I've posted my nick on the AIM thread several times. I have to admit, this *might* be me being paranoid, and it might be somebody else doing it.)

He did email me about it. Ken, if you're reading, I'm sorry for not replying, but I don't see the point when you're just going to keep denying everything.

Also, prepare to be buggered.

Woohoo!

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Huh? What's wrong with Ken? Kenan and Caitlin, could you elaborate on your dislike a bit, because I really don't get it...

(x-post)

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, without knowing neither you or Ken any better, you *do* sound a bit paranoid.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think Kenan has posted on this thread.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken constantly takes the piss out of everyone?

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken's funny.

I just realized that no one's ever called me a cunt, I don't think.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, Ronan. Damn your British names.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Kenan is American.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

And Ronan is Irish.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

(and, leaving apart any personal dislike for the moment, his inane-crap-to-interesting-posts ratio is rather worse than most posters - although there are probably a few that are lower)

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.gerweck.net/johnheidenreich.jpg

"Hi, I'm John Heidenreich, and I wholeheartedly endorse Ken C's ILX posts"

John Heidenreich (Dom Passantino), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

WHY IS NED RAGGETTE FATTEE

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken should probably answer to Caitlin's post, I'm finding her accusations a bit difficutl to believe, but then again I don't *really* know any of you.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

everyone's saying "ken c" this and "calum" that. why aren't they saying "bible" this and "jericho" that?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jon, wtf?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

WAIT KEN DIDNT INVITE ME TO AOL CHAT EITHER HE IS HITLAR

jushinthunderliger (deangulberry), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Who's Ken C?

adam... (nordicskilla), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't want to be accused of putting words into his mouth, but I'm sure he'd say that none of what I said was true. Maybe it isn't true, but in my mind, right now, it's absolute fact. And I don't think anything that Ken said would change my mind about that.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

T/S: GARU G VS. AMAZING RANDY

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

If Ken has emailed Caitlin privately about whatever their differences are, then I don't see why he should have to do it here as well because Caitlin's taking a public hissy paranoid fit.

(xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Whoo boy.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan must be ILX's Gandhi, healing divided communities.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Weasel Diesel, that was uncalled for. Ailsa's probably right though, this should be handled privately.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I LOVED YOUR WORK ON MAID IN AMERICA

adam... (nordicskilla), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

(Somewhere in a secret lair Ronan is wearing a villian suit and rubbing his hands together while cackling "AH YES CAITLIN, YOU HAVE WALKED INTO MY TRAP! MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!")

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

from what i'm gathering, ronan doesn't like me because i talk about constipation and bukkake on ilx, which he doesn't like, rather than taking drugs, and i'm not an intellectual or something.

caitlin seems to think i have something against her and is out to get her at every opportunity, or something, cos she burnt down my village years ago when i was a kid and i have a personal vendetta against her?

i've just done a search on all the caitlin threads and i'm trying to find one that i've actually posted on.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't like it when you talk about Dance Dance Revolution. I'm Jewish, for fuck's sake.

adam... (nordicskilla), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

you're not nice, caitlin.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, Ken makes snide comments to *everyone* here, it's not just you. Most of us find his comments funny though. Still, he doesn't have a personal vendetta against you.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

If someone starts a thread about two specific posters, I don't see why I should have to bite my tongue just because noone else yet shares my views. I don't, frankly, think that starting a thread specifically about a regular poster who doesn't troll most of the other regulars is going to be a good idea; but when someone *does* start one I don't see why I shouldn't post on it.

I hope all my posts on this thread have come across as calm and rational - which, I know, isn't always how I post. I don't see why I should be accused of having a hissy-fit here.

I'm not angry about this right now. I'm just feeling very sad that none of you believe me when I tell you the way he behaves towards me.

As I said: maybe he doesn't. I *could* be wrong. But it *is* the way I definitely feel at the moment, and I don't see why I shouldn't be allowed to talk about it.

Dan: I definitely wish that was true, for some dark twisted reason :-)

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, Caitlin and Ken's problem is between them, and others probably won't help by sticking their oar in.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i just wish you can show me when i've been doing this. maybe i can understand better.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost you guys can still talk about how i suck in general, though.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, it seems to me that your overreacting to Ken's posting style which, admittedly, could be offending to some, but that doesn't mean he's trying to offend you in particular. That's how he posts to everyone.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Bloody Belle & Sebastian fans.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin and Ken's problem is between them, and others probably won't help by sticking their oar in.

And, furthermore, because of the way both of us behave, it's not going to be solved any time soon.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin I am accusing you of having a hissy fit because running about going *boo hoo, I don't think Ken likes me but I might be being paranoid, he might not be picking on me at all* then admitting that when Ken contacted you privately about this you didn't even bothering entering into it with him, rather deciding to take it public instead, doesn't come across as a terribly rational train of thought.

Just so you know.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

others probably won't help by sticking their oar in.

Yeah, 'cause that can really hurt, getting buggered with an oar and all.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

caitlin's a b+s fan too. (at least was)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

THAT'S WHAT I MEAN; YOU'RE ALL FUCKERS.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

you're just saying that because i pwned you at the photos thread nick.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

now that *was* personal

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Bitch.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

you like embrace.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken, frankly, I don't have the time or the energy at the moment to search ILE for threads where you've replied to me, or posted things that I found personally insulting. There have been, plenty, though. And it *is* true that, as far as I can remember, you have never replied to any anonymous posts I've made (not that there are very many).

Ailsa: I don't agree that I didn't even bother discussing it with him. At the time that he emailed me, I wished that I could ignore him completely, and getting into an email debate with him really wouldn't have helped. I didn't make any sort of calculated decision to mention it in public, either; it was just something that seemed appropriate to mention in the context of this thread.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Wierd.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:14 (twenty-one years ago)

You like buildings.

2 x-post.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, it's up to you whether you do try to dig out some examples, but I suspect that unless you do, you will find that people continue to doubt it - same as you would if I accused someone of going after me a lot, without anyone else having noted it and without producing any evidence.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

fair enough then. if you have the energy one day search for it, you may find that i haven't really been at some evil plot.

in the mean time since it seems there's not much i can say that changes anything. you can carry on pretending that i'm out to get you if you like!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, quoted from upthread.

Ken, if you're reading, I'm sorry for not replying, but I don't see the point

Which seems pretty much like an admission that you're sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalala" rather than taking whatever Ken has said on board. If you don't agree with him, tell him to fuck off, but DO IT PRIVATELY. Bringing it out in the open isn't doing you any favours as far as I'm concerned, especially since you can't back it up. If you think he's trolling you, stop feeding him. You are coming across as paranoid and whiny, and I don't think that's you.

(xpost again!)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:17 (twenty-one years ago)

This is why I left Sinister.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, it isn't.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe it was - I forget. Maybe I'll go back!

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

(have they left yet?)

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i left cos of calumn shearer

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

that isn't true either

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Bloody Belle & Sebastian fans.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

you embrace embrace.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:20 (twenty-one years ago)

same as you would if I accused someone of going after me a lot, without anyone else having noted it and without producing any evidence.

Yeah, even though ILE isn't the same as real-life interaction, people still tend to notice if someone's constantly being mean to someone else. I've noticed this several times here with other posters, but *not* with you and Ken.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:20 (twenty-one years ago)

The title of this thread seems to promise a Celebrity Deathmatch style claymation showdown!

adam... (nordicskilla), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:20 (twenty-one years ago)

And that's what we got! Only not with Calum.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I left Sinister when Alba left. Without him it was nothing.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

That also may not be true.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Caitlin is still better than Ken C, but it's becoming a close thing. Calum is worse than either, but maybe he is getting better?

Burn ILE down, anyway.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

calum's better than alba though

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

calum uses better punctuations

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

That's not fucking hard.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the feeling that I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't. If I don't go and search for anything, people are going to say I'm whining for no reason. If I do, are you all going to complain about me re-posting a long pile of Ken-posts just to try to continue a vendetta, or something?

I still don't see why I should be criticised for bringing this up when people go and solicit opinions to start with. If this thread hadn't been started, none of this would have been mentioned.

Maybe, if I go to bed, then in the morning I won't want to post on this thread any more.

(x*1000post, like all my other posts on this thread)

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

The thing is with Calum that he draws a picture. The most longetivenous element to him is the fact that you can almost feel the bony, matt coloured back arching in the morning as he reaches for his towel and switches the kettle on for Cup-a-soup. You can imagine quite perfectly the hands running through the hair, the thoughts gathering, the flesh aching for early morning ITV with it's blonde and it's lights and it's sensational sacharine.

Three sugars in tea. Main light on always. HIS posters are worth a lot of money and AREN'T going in the lounge, Daniel. Think you, of the clickety clack of the Compaq XL-32 keyboard with its strict, percussive tones as he thinks for that salacious moment whether to be Nigel or Colin today.

This cyclical world is perfecting, and never growing old. Thoughts cascade and combine as he spreads to other forums, other worlds. Soon at least half the Eastern Seaboard is cursing his putrid name as he, and he alone is responsible for powercuts as the flaming rises. No-one is safe, at least no-one who is Internet Capable.

So basically, he's going to die some day, some place, from something. It might be horrible, it might be peaceful, it could be the very best of natures' gold. But it will always be there. Think of this, my children, as you descend into these dark, dark days.

Bernard the Butler (Lynskey), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:38 (twenty-one years ago)

If I do, are you all going to complain about me re-posting a long pile of Ken-posts just to try to continue a vendetta, or something?

it depends what you post really isn't it? if you find something that's like OMG CAITLIN YOU CUNT or something shitty i've said like that. then that's pretty conclusive evidence that i've been unreasonable and no one would disagree with that. chances are you won't find anything because i haven't actually been particularly horrible to you.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i dont get it

x-post

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I do.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Caitlin, I went through a bunch of your posts from this year (Ken C hasn't posted here much before this year), and this was the only example I found of Ken making any sort of comment specifically to you:

Is it the new year yet? Who do I get to hug first? Yum, ants!

-- caitlin (wpsal...), January 2nd, 2004. (caitlin)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

eew you were hugging ants?!?!??!
-- ken c (kenneth.ch...), January 2nd, 2004. (ken c)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, eating.

-- caitlin (wpsal...), January 2nd, 2004. (caitlin)

...which doesn't sound particularly offending. Obviously I didn't check *all* your posts from this year (maybe one third of them), but if Ken is really harassing you, at least he isn't being that constant about it.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, in any of the threads you started this year he hasn't made a single comment specifically to you.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Tuomas I love you. Purely platonically. You should be world president.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

You mean by name, Tuomas?

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a whole horrible "conversation" (read: childish abuse chucking) on the National Rail Enquiries thread (I was going to say something about the thread being derailed then thought that was a crap pun even Ken wouldn't make).

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

(the abuse on which Ken doesn't appear to have deserved on the basis of that thread but I can't find the history that maybe would have led up to it)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

That was the most badly-worded sentence in the history of ILE. Sorry.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

You mean by name, Tuomas?

No. Ken has posted on some of the same threads as Caitlin, but that was the only example I found of any of his comments aimed to Caitlin specifically, instead of being aimed to someone else or no one in particular. I guess I could go through the other two thirds of Caitlin's posts, but that'll have to wait for tomorrow.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 8 November 2004 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

There's not enough love for Lynskey's post up there.

(I really don't think there's much point attempting to provide examples from the board, or lack of, to justify a lack of a Ken/Caitlin feud because it clearly goes way offboard and prior to the appearance of either on ILE)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:01 (twenty-one years ago)

it appears to go clearly way off reality.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:03 (twenty-one years ago)

FOR FUCK'S SAKE PEOPLE.

(I am snarky b/c I am unable to murder the pizza delivery man b/c I am crap a driving the cars in "vice city", plus the jet li dvd i bought does not work properly)

I liked alba's posts abt sinister.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, this is the most depressing thread in a while - even worse than some of the politics ones...

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel like there is some parallel ILX universe I'm not party to, all of a sudden.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, props to Lynskey's post as well, I liked it.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

SINISTER BOAT VETERANS FOR ILX

jushinthunderliger (deangulberry), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Ken.
I have not yet quit Sinister (I am a nostalgic veteran?). Maybe I'm hyper-rational and/or emotionally numb, but nothing seems to bother me here or there. (But then I don't post very often either, so...)
What's so bothersome about puns? Groaning isn't so bad.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's really high schoolish to dogpile somebody like this.

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 01:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I assume Nick was joking about the puns - puns are the most classic of the classic.

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I agree Orbit, I'm actually wondering what the hell Ronan's problem is, to have started something so... well, bitchy, frankly.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

it doesn't matter.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Well yeah, it doesnt actually.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry, I wasn't meaning to speak for you.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:27 (twenty-one years ago)

there are a 2 or 3 worse ilxors. calum doesn't bother me though.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:26 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c, I didn't used to like you because I took you seriously once when I'm pretty sure you

were

joking.

I have no idea what the thread was about. But now I don't care, and I have no idea what's going on in this thread.

Remy (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jer hits on an essential prob with ILX actually. A lot of peeps here have dry humour or are referring to long-gone injokes, but to those not in the know it looks like out and out abuse or rudeness.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 05:05 (twenty-one years ago)

It's pretty bad in recent days, especially!

Remy (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 05:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah well you both suck.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

(This dry humor provided by the Dry Council. Dry. It's what for dinner.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I much prefer wet humor --

i dont really understand the ken hating. i mean ive always been jealous because he forever kills me on the dance dance revolution machines. but, i dunno, ive learned to get past that. sort of. cunt.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 07:01 (twenty-one years ago)

There's not enough love for Lynskey's post up there.

I have to say, Lynskey's post above is the best thing I've read this week. And I know it's only Tuesday; but I love it, too.

I'm also still on Sinister - although it's a bit academic because it only seems to get about three posts a week now.

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 07:55 (twenty-one years ago)

that many???

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 07:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I was going to say 2, but decided it would be an underestimate.

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 07:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken C you big old meanie!! You know I love you more than my trainers!! *mwah* *mwah* *darling*

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 09:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I love ken c. I don't always get his jokes but he is funny. I think I always get Calum's jokes and they are very unfunny.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe Calum is impersonating Ronan? Ken, you're very accomodating.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I drink beer with Ken C.
Ken C lent me GTA3.
I have danced with Ken C.
I have touched Ken C.
And I get to beat Ken C at tennis, so he is OK.
I think he is OK on ILE. Some posts are very witty and well-timed, others are just silly. Some are actually serious.

I don't know Calum, although we did exchange emails when I was planning a trip to Edinburgh. We were going to meet for a drink. I never made the trip. We never met. He seemed like a nice chap. I ignore most of what he does on ILE that annoys people.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:45 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks to this thread, in my mind, Ken's ass is synonymous with the frisking scene in The Mask.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

perhaps if calum were to actually meet mark c, ned, martin and norm in the flesh he'd drop the banal desperate-attention-seeking abusive act?

what if one of us ended up on This Is Your Life one day...

"he irritated you like a wasp hovering around your beer and never made you laugh once - you thought he was just a microscopic blemish in the tapestry of your life, barely a footnote...well he's here tonight!"

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

... only joking!

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

it would be funny if even Vernon Kaye (who would doubtless be presenting this futuristic revival of the show) called him ken c

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

None of us will ever end up on This Is Your Life as the programme has been discontinued.

Even if the programme had not been discontinued, it is unlikely that any of us would have ended up on it, with the possible exception of Momus.

Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i maintain faith that the show will return one day (along with The Krypton Factor)

and i will finally find fame as leader of a international dance-combat troupe

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I am fully planning on being on This is your life one day. even if it means i'll have to revive it myself (i'll become stinking rich and buy off the BBC if needs be).

and I'd be pretty damn surprised if at my This Is Your Life episode, I appear! to meet myself!!

Pleasantly surprised, mind.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Please can they return combined into one show?
