Hello and welcome.

i like a mongrel in uniform (sheepfuxor uniform)

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:25 (twenty years ago)

Mulla Nasrudin - he acted the Fool, but it was a front for his true Trickster nature.

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

Hahah I love the title =)

I found a page that suggests the Fool has some of the trickster nature in him, tho in a more gloomy way perhaps.

I do kind of like this idea of my subconcious trolling me - stirring me, if you will - into action! Maybe it is trying to piss me off so I'll do something about ... stuff.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:29 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. Hmmmm.

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:39 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, he was trying to get your goat. He wants you to explode. What would you do if you exploded? He wants to hear and see that. I'm just speculating.

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:40 (twenty years ago)

didn't someone explode on one of the other threads?

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:42 (twenty years ago)

Mmmm *nods thoughtfully*. You know, in my daydreaming and night dreams I very often completely explode/lose it. Total psychotic screaming angry Liv-Tyler-in-Empire-Records tantrum lose it. It can be quite distressing actually. I've just realised the more I think on this that the dream is following the pattern of ones I have a lot - but usually it isnt a trickster, its my mother being a recalcitrant, mocking, "Im-not-listening" bitch and I get angry at her.

ARGH! *lies on couch*

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

Do we have any drummers that have disappeared of late? =)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

oh you don't mean physically explode, like with bits everywhere

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

no jim, explode as in, blow your cool.

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 00:45 (twenty years ago)

moley, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 05:09 (twenty years ago)

I tried using painter btw Trayce and I couldn't get the hang of it at all! You have to use it with a pressure sensitive digital pen of course. But yeah the interface is rather confusing and weird, with the drawers and things - you're meant to get the hang of kbd shortcuts to swap brush sizes and types. Nick does this in photoshop all the time, he just sits there going *draw draw clickety clickety* and makes a great thing that looks like a soft lead pencil sketch. In Photoshop!

Oasis member Noel Gallagher has said he hates Kylie Minogue's music with passion.

In an interview with Nuts magazine Noel said: "I don't hate Kylie but I hate her music with a passion."

"It's just unbridled filth, it's disgusting. But she, by all accounts, is a very, very, very nice lady - if a little on the short side.

"But her music f*cking makes me want to puke."

Morning mongrels/sheepfuxors.

Happy wednesday.

It is far too early to be up when I don't really have to be anywhere.

I am considering doing honours at uni. I really don't know that I can handle another year there though.

I walk along a thin line darling / Kate (papa november), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

Haha I am naughty, I'm supposed to not be having any white flour, sugar or caffiene and I just had a strong tea and a very sticky cinnamon bun =) But! I also had brown rice cakes with tomato for brekky, so hey.

I'm actually feeling quite well this week. I've made a point of eating good healthy food and trying to keep my blood sugar levels even (as I think thats the cause of a lot of my moods and prelediction to hit the drink to level myself out). Its working nicely so far.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

i am going to get samosas soon with my hot-assed boyfriend, and then i'm going to study, have a meeting with my supervisor, and finally go to an anarcha-feminist stitch-n-bitch and knit like i never knitted before. kate you should do honours (only if you want to tho), you will kick ass. mmmm rice cakes with tomato....

di, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 23:21 (twenty years ago)

I want to, but it's hard knowing I could be out earning some dollars and not being a poor student. I have to weigh up why I want to do it. I have a feeling it's just for the glory which is a bit lame.

My tutor is suggestion I should have my first big show in Melbourne or Sydney before I have it up here. Apparently the ignorant fools up here won't pay you any mind unless someone in the southern states says you're good.

I had a weird survival dream like that last night kind of! End of the world scenario, somethign was gonna bomb us, or did, but didnt blow up buildings, so I was being practical (I always am in my disaster dreams, heh) and went around breaking into the chemists so I could grab my gang some painkillers, sdedatives, bandages, and antibiotics.

My brain is BONKERS.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

Fuck it, I'd just be growing them. Someone else could do the hard work.

I think I am going into one of my yearly antisocial crazy unabomber phases.

I liked that story about Flav that I might've read on ILM, someone asked him about the clock and he's like, "it points to 12:00, because I'm a straight-up guy", then the reported looked at the clock and it was at about quarter to five.

haitch (haitch), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 00:26 (twenty years ago)

i've heard bad stories from people who had to wait on him. the only time i saw him he jumped on stage with war and was completely fucking annoying and obviously off his head.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

i'm not in the library today! not yet anyway. last night in the library we had a crackpot who ditched his ugboots in the stairwell (each on a different landing) and kept coming down to ask us for the key to the 'secret room' on level four. he got really quite frustrated when we kept saying there was no secret room. it was tops! occasionally i think it is likely that my life is over when these incidents are the highlight.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 00:59 (twenty years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 01:01 (twenty years ago)

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 02:04 (twenty years ago)

when i take work home i never do any of it and then i just feel guilty and also stressed. so i don't think that a work-from-home job would work for me, no matter what my profession were. even if i were to become a writer i think i would have to lease an office somewhere.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 02:07 (twenty years ago)

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 02:10 (twenty years ago)

My grandparents live in Burpengary, my Grandfather insists on calling it Burpen-'n-fartin'-Gary.

Downer was of course not named after the "current" Downer, but still, bad association. I wouldn't want to live in a place called that.

Then again, I lived in Kambah, so I have no write to cast aspersions.

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 05:54 (twenty years ago)

I have a sweat problem too, the medical name is axillary hyperhidrosis [OH GOODY LET'S ALL REVEAL OUR DISABILITIES YAY]. I have to use Driclor, which is a specialist aluminium chloride solution that you put on before bed say once every 1-2 weeks, and somehow it magically blocks your sweat glands. I don't know how safe it is, but by golly fuck does it work.

Then, when that's under control, get Dry Idea. No more yellow!

I fully realise Marcello will have laughed his head off - probably derisively, not in enjoyment - at me and my explosion. Hey there you go Col, what were we saying about what would happen if my trickster made me explode? Oh dear. Its funny; in a way I like fight threads like those ones because it throws an interesting sharp relief on everybody, and you see different sides to people.

Like, tep attacking Jer, that was a bit uncalled for and made me go "oh blimey", though I kind of know where he was coming from (his attacks are rarely personal afaik). And when I see how cliquey the UK people are in particular - Marcello, SteveM, Starrysarah, Markelby, etc etc - I have to laugh and laugh at the idea they're the ones who get most upset about OTHER people getting pally!

Lets just say there are less people I like unconditionally on ILX than there were yesterday and leave it at that. Also, while I'm kind of glad my attack was diffused into a joke (even if it might be at my expense), I won't be apologising for it. You will very rarely see me lose it like that - make the most of it ;)

moley, Wednesday, 18 May 2005 22:21 (twenty years ago)

Gaz, it was the "which ILXors are cool" thread. Which was seriously going quite nicely (people were being logical and saying "well cool isnt the same as just liking someone, not everyone is "cool"" and no one was taking offence at all, or whining about being left out... til Marcello came in and bitched about how this sort of crap was why ILX was rotten to the core and horrible and people were matey matey and think everyone else is lame (?) blah blah wtf ever dude.

The fake Cranberries one or the one where Trayce explodes? (while I agree with Marcello to some extent, he is, as Trayce says, guilty of what he charges other people with and has a HUGE tendency to throw his toys out of the pram at the slightest provocation and get hugely indignant, which is hugely unbecoming. Also for such an intelligent person, he ignores the obvious and jumps to inane conclusions in a thoroughly stupid fashion when it suits him.)

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

The explosion one. :)

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

Oh excellent, cheers.

he is, as Trayce says, guilty of what he charges other people with

Does he do something, then accuse other people of doing the same thing? Because that's a psychological concept called projection.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

Hey wtf. Why did it log me out when I clicked on the thread?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:39 (twenty years ago)

Adam, it's not quite as simple as projection. More hypocricy. "I hate ILX because it's so masturbatory and back-patting" - OK, fine. But he occasionally is guilty of such indulgences. He's criticised people for being blinkered and stupid in their arguments when he's more than capable of being the same thing. Not always, but sometimes.

I feel a bit bad saying this because as far as people who write about pop music go, there are few better. (Even if his style is not something I would ever aspire to).

(I dont much care for it when others do it either - Markelby, Kenan, I'm looking at you! ;P) Why do people (men in particular on here) feel the need to consistently be so rude, arrogant and bitter about everything and everyone? If its a self-loathing morose peppered with dark humour, like Jess, then great, I'm with that. But black, unrelenting "everything is shit and you are all little worms and I wish you'd all die" is just ugly.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

I think probably the key point that could be made is this:

"Marcello, your claims that ILX is horrible and not worth a rap would be easier to believe if you didn't swan around here like you think you're the King of the place.".

It should be posted on that thread, but I know he'll read it on here.

King of the place? I find him to be more cunty than even say, Calum.

there are so many people much worse than calum. he's not even in the bottom ten.

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 23:46 (twenty years ago)

In the end, my opinion means jack to the people I might rail against, so I tend to just leave it. I enjoy ILX - I may not post to ILM much but it is really more because as I get older I feel less qualified to speak with any kind of knowledge or authority. I mean I could bang on about 4ad and shoegaze/90s indie over and over but no one on ILM likes it anyway, so I'll talk about Jung and Tao and linguistics over here instead.

xpost aye. Calum can be an irrit, but he's trolling for fun, and he damn well knows it, and says so! So I know I can just leave him be (I wish everyone else would).

It kind of sums up what I think about the thread. There are a lot of people I could've written. A lot of people who get overlooked cause they're not as prominent. A lot of people who I'd feel self-conscious saying I thought were cool for a number of reasons. The song covers all that I guess.

Why is killing kids more wrong than killing any human? Not directing that at you Gaz, just out into the ether so to speak.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 19 May 2005 00:32 (twenty years ago)

my wife is keen to watch this dr who bizness. she hasn't watched one i'm pretty sure since skooldays. neither have i. might give it a burl.

This might help:

My wife HATES the old Doctor Who. She can't stand it. I'll be watching it and she'll come home and see it and go "oh christ" and go off into the kitchen or something.

She agreed to give the new series a go, based on what I'd heard about it being aimed at a very broad audience [i.e. not trekkies]. She loves it. She can't get enough of it. Every time I run out of episodes she goes "when are you getting more??" And last week she almost cried during an episode.

Rest assured that this new one is nothing at all like the old ones. Nothing. There's a time machine and the occasional Dalek and that's it. It's huge fun, it's sophisticated and it's brutally funny.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

Why is killing kids more wrong than killing any human?

Primal instinct innit. Kids do that crying thing and our brains are wired to go "oh noes a little child! innocence blah etc etc"

GODAMMIT, YOU'RE ALL IN FOR A WORLD OF PAIN! ]

Deep down I know that the Phantom Menace sucks balls. So does Attack of the Clones, to a lesser extent. Some parts of both films are a mess, a horrid, unplanned mess.

But there's something about the story and the ideas that inspired me as a little kid and still informs my worldview. Thus, I stayed a fan, defending the films and displaying my fan-nature proudly.

Revenge of the Sith vindicated every moment I spent defending the first two. It was a big oil drum of kickass. George Lucas did something right. I'm so happy.

Man, I had three hours sleep, I'm making no sense.

Revenge of the Sith was like being dragged to a party that you were kinda expecting to be pretty tame, only to rock up and find a bathtub full of imported beer, kickin' music and some hot swedish backpackers who want to party. Only, you know, with darkness and death and the dark side clouding all. Oh yeah, and kiddyslaying.

Ew, how many 'I's in that post? Self-absorbed much?

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:34 (twenty years ago)

One of my favourite words in the dictionary is "iotacism", which means "excessive use of the letter 'iota'" which is a Greek "I". I want to get this word recognised - so whenever you say "I" too often, I want people to call it iotacism.

Won't happen, sadly.

edward o (edwardo), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:35 (twenty years ago)

Awesome! We just call it 'I' Disease.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:37 (twenty years ago)

that would be kind of cool actually, since iota is now commonly used to mean a jot (i.e. a little bit) so it's sort of ironic, like the use of the word 'i' is all about self-importance but 'iotacism' suggests that the subject 'i' is of minimal importance

gem (trisk), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:38 (twenty years ago)

The movie begins with some crazy pyrotechnics, before setting up the fall of Anakin. Once the fuse it lit, around the forty minute mark, shit gets dark, real quick. Lots of crazy visuals, with some of the duels and lightsacre shennanigans eliciting a gasp from me.

I hated that Iota dude that JJJ was in love with a few years ago.

Go see it, it's light years beyond Attack of the Clones.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:43 (twenty years ago)

OMG WTF LOL. I had a student come in yesterday to discuss some academic stuff, and the conversation got sidetracked and apparently this girl who sits up at the front of one of my tutorials has a crush on me.

Awwwwww.

I once had a HORRIBLE crush on a tutor some years back. I handed in the best essays I could as I wanted to seem impressive. Oh, when I was told "That's the best Marxist analysis I've ever marked", I nearly melted inside and went ridiculously gooey and was walking on air for the rest of the day.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:52 (twenty years ago)

Ahahaha Gaz.

I had a 'friend' at high school who had such an enormous crush on our English teacher that he NAMED HER BREASTS.

Adam, how do you rationalise your viewing of Big Brother?

Escapism. That's it really.

I know there's nothing terribly insightful or intellectual about it, but it's like a lava lamp, in that nothing really happens but it's still absorbing. It's fun to love some housemates and hate others, and it's great to see people change as the game progresses, and watch others drop the façade and be themselves with dire consequences.

When the first series went out in 2001, I was one of those people who would go "wah Big Brother who watches that crap", then spend a good 10 minutes talking about it [LOADS of people did this]. Towards the end I realised how hypocritical that was, watched the last 2-3 weeks with slight interest, and vowed to give it a chance the next year. We were hooked, and have been ever since. It's gotten to the point where we actually associate autumn with Big Brother.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:54 (twenty years ago)

Actually, I'm pretty sure she does NOT have a crush on me, but she just wants to seem intelligent and competent in the tutorials so I'll mark her essays highly. Good sort to have, as those that actually answer questions and speak up are rare.

I should have had more beautiful tutors, or in this case, tutors with unfathomably sexy voices.

edward o (edwardo), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:55 (twenty years ago)

I can't remember having a crush on any teachers ever. Did I miss something?

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 01:56 (twenty years ago)

i would say no adam. nothing worse than trying to answer questions cleverly in tuts to show how tops you are and getting all tongue tied and blushing.

i was overseas when the first BB was on, then i got pretty addicted to the second series. since then i CANNOT STAND to watch it, as i invariably want to stab all of the inmates in the eye with a blunt spoon, but i still have a strong urge to know what is going on. so i have arranged with one of my mates at uni who loves watching it to give me a daily precis of who's in, who's out, what the secrets are etc etc. works a treat. i reckon she loves doing it too, it gives her some weird purpose for watching.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 19 May 2005 04:16 (twenty years ago)

Yep! They are merkins. USed back in the old days, when everyone tended to get crabs and lice and things - it was unfashionable to have shaved rudiebits because that said HI I HAVE CRABS so they invented merkins to cover it up!

FWIW I used to go MEGA RANT HARDKORR a lot on LJ back in the day, when I was a little more unhinged about relationships and my total lack of any shame or dignity. I made one too many nasty posts about people who could quite easily read said posts, and caused a few very ugly scenes as a result (I'm talking messing up actual real life non-internet friendships I had). It took years to repair one in particular I'm sure Ive talked about a fair bit, and he still doesnt have much to do with me now, tho we're at least talking again. It took years though. Learnt that lesson the hard way.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 19 May 2005 08:24 (twenty years ago)

Thee internet is a bit of a horrible beast really, in a lot of ways. I am so very glad I grew up most of my formative years without it and computers at all. I fear I'd be a brainless moosh-head otherwise! :/

From the Age:

Finally, in 1999, a TV comedy special, Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death, was produced to raise money for Red Nose Day. It featured Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor and Julia Sawalha as his companion. In it, the Doctor was forced to regenerate several times, turning into, in order, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant and, lastly, Joanna Lumley.

One day I shaved with a razor and cut my face up like you wouldn't believe. Blood everywhere.

Then I went to the optometrist!

It was weird because the girls behind the counter were flirting with me for some reason. And then I had the eye test, and saw myself in the optometrist's mirror and realised I forgot to take all the bits of tissue off my face. So I apologised to the optometrist, who just laughed at me. Then I went out to the desk to pay my bill and told the girls "yes, I've just realised I came in looking like Norman Gunston" and they absolutely fucking cacked themselves.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 19 May 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

In the shower, I'm pretty much business, I wash, shave, then wash my hair - there's not much, so that takes all of thirty seconds.

Yeah, I'm really stressed and I'm scared that I might become trapped in what I'm doing for a whole bunch of reasons.

I'm walking backwards for christmas
Across the Irish Sea
I'm walking backwards for christmas
It's the only thing for me
I've tried walking sideways
And walking to the front
But people just laugh and say
It's all a publicity stunt
So I'm walking backwards for christmas
To prove that I love youuuuuuu

you know who i fuckin hate though? those people that go "smi-ile!" like the world can just be changed like *snap* and made better by smi-iling. i mean - my mum might've just died. or i might be a fucking depressive. (not aimed at you Trayce - i'm talking about people i don't really know)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:25 (twenty years ago)

and despite the fact that self determination is pretty big on my important list glossing over sadness and misery is not

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

damn straight

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:29 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. "Chin up! It can't be that bad!" Cunts.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:29 (twenty years ago)

In fact let's make a list:

1. "Smi-ile"
2. "Chin up"
3. "It can't be that bad"
4. "There there"
5. "Never mind"
6. "Oh well"
7. "Things will turn out for the best"
8. "You've got to turn that frown upside down"

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:31 (twenty years ago)

"cheer up it might never happen"

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:32 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I have suffered from pretty bad clinical depression over the last five years. When it first came on, people around me were 'Oh cheer up, you're in uni, you've got your whole life ahead of you!' for ages. Once it was obvious that I was in a pretty bad shape, they were all 'TAKE ONE PILL NOW!' Yeah, the last one they tried lead to me spending half a year in a daze, putting on weight.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:33 (twenty years ago)

did you see that thing on Catalyst about behavior genes? soon they'll be able to predict your likelihood of not coping and charge you insurance premiums based on it.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

depression insurance?

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

"Things will turn out for the best"

o fuck i love this one. usually from someone who just voted for howard.

like what kind of risk re failing health, losing work, whatever, you might be jim.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:36 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I have suffered from pretty bad clinical depression over the last five years. When it first came on, people around me were 'Oh cheer up, you're in uni, you've got your whole life ahead of you!' for ages.

This is why I don't tell people about my job thing in detail, because people know they can't help so they just go "never mind, you'll find something". The fact that I've been trying to get a new job for six years and had exactly fucking zero second interviews points to me not actually finding something doesn't it, you glib fucking cock muncher.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 20 May 2005 00:40 (twenty years ago)

HAVE YOU SMILED TODAY?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:01 (twenty years ago)

Yes! I smiled just then as I realised I sent a private reply to a mailing list in which I say that various people known to the other people on the list are really suckful. Not in those words, but it's the most likely observation.

Quickly sent off another saying "It's an old Queensland in-joke". That'll fool 'em.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:03 (twenty years ago)

I want to know why dumb people send pointless emails with stupid jokes and a 500Mb picture that maxes out everyone's fucking inbox.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:03 (twenty years ago)

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:21 (twenty years ago)

One of my good friends does that mail thing :( I'm so disappointed in her! She just asked me what my work email was one day and I didnt even twig, so I told her.. next thing I know I'm getting quadruple-fwded 5mb MPEG movies and pictures of cats. ARGH!

So I told her my work frown on large emails and non work related stuff, and so now she sends it to my home email *bangs head on table*. If I tell her off she will take it personally and she's not in a good state right now so I really dont wanna upset her. I just delete them.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:24 (twenty years ago)

Crimeny I'm busy. Dom just went home sick, my annoying queen workmates gona on an HOUR lunch (fucker came in LATE yesterday too, who says he gets to piss about just because he's leaving in 2 months?) and so I'm stuck here in case noc calls overflow to me, plus doing a shitload more orders than usual, AND updating all our clients in Salesforce, ON MY OWN. THANKS GUYS, HAVE A NICE FRIDAY.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:25 (twenty years ago)

Fuck dis, I'm going home early today.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 20 May 2005 01:26 (twenty years ago)

Actually, my dad got prostate cancer last year and he did the Camino, or the pilgrim's walk through Spain with this freakin' thing inside him and took like 5,000 photos before coming home and going into hospital the next week - so that last comment probably had a ring of truth to it.

He's fine now. Total healthnut.

I'm with the very first post on this thread: Mulla Nasrudin. Awesome.

trayce i really, really do hope you're not being serious

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 20 May 2005 03:33 (twenty years ago)

I really hope he is. Wanna hear a funny Nasrudin story?

Unfortunate Prankster (Unfortunate Prankster), Friday, 20 May 2005 03:35 (twenty years ago)

Okay, off the top of my head...

Nasrudin visits the doctor and asks him to check his prostrate. The doctor does his tests and concludes that Nasrudin's prostrate seems to be in fine condition. Nasrudin thanks the doctor and leaves. That night, his wife asks him how his visit to the doctor went. Nasruding responds, "You're not quite the pain in the ass I thought you were."

Unfortunate Prankster (Unfortunate Prankster), Friday, 20 May 2005 03:38 (twenty years ago)

soooo... new thread then?

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 20 May 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

Man goes to doctor. Doctor says "we need to hook you up to a kidney dialysis machine." Man says "no please no that would teh suck." Doctor says "right well we can do away with kidney dialysis if you wouldn't mind driving my dog home that would do nicely." Man says "why what will that do for my kidney problem ffs." Doctor says "trust me, when you're driving my Barina with a toy poodle in the back to my home in Caroline Springs, the piss will be taken out of you constantly"

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 20 May 2005 04:04 (twenty years ago)

Man goes to the doctor. Doctor asks, "What's the problem?" Man says, "I don't know, doc, one day I'm a Wigwam, next day I'm a Teepee." Doc says, "First of all, why are you capitalizing Wigwam and Teepee? Secondly, you're an idiot. Obviously, you are two tents / too tense. Get it?"

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 20 May 2005 06:24 (twenty years ago)

Staring at tits isn't obligatory, but it's an occasional amusement in your life, like a sauce on your food...

talking to the tits i mean. i hear this soo much. he talks to my tits. i mean i like a nice look at thge tits as much as anyone. but when it comes to talking to someone..no way.

Good afternoon and happy Sunday.

I have had a beautiful weekend.

Flava Flavs got problems of his own! / Kate (papa november), Sunday, 22 May 2005 03:36 (twenty years ago)

Excellent. Expand, elaborate and elucidate.

Yesterday I went to a rugby union match and pretended to be a bloke (booed, ate meat pie), and today I am strenuously avoiding all news media so they don't spoil Eurovision for me. While I'm supposed to be doing an assignment at that.

edward o (edwardo), Sunday, 22 May 2005 04:00 (twenty years ago)

sunday arvo (o who was it fuck i bake in hell for not remebering) was like a narrative over 3 hours made up of stupid songs, ridiculous sound bites, scripted drama etc all surreal like. no "movie salepitch" anywhere. just an audio hallucination with semi-rational story path.

Captain Goodvibes? No one remembers Captain Goodvibes?

moley, Sunday, 22 May 2005 05:51 (twenty years ago)

that was a bit mean of you to kill our thread.

And to think you accused me of killing your thread when here it is still going strong.

that email addy is familiar, i have a feeling he has been annoying before but just not to us... i knew it. search reveals he was the chap who started that 'baboon licks up its own cum and thus gay folks are yucky' saga

Um, hi. That was MY thread. I wasn't being annoying to anyone. People were being annoying to ME. I'm not annoying. I'm charming and witty.

Last week R and I were wondering if New Zealanders weren't the nicest people in the world? I mean, the most peace loving, creative and unpretentious? What do you think?

moley, Sunday, 22 May 2005 06:11 (twenty years ago)

Well, if this qeustion is directed at me, first of all, I would like to pointout that I know question is spelled "question" and not "qeustion" and that "point out" is two words not one. But, I have to wonder what the spelling of "noize" implies exactly. If I am to be lumped in with a group, it would be helpful to know what the group was all about.

Train. It's 2-3 stops on the same line, and Pause is just opposite the station.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 03:30 (twenty years ago)

hmm... its pretty much same diff, either the chapel st tram or the train, the train'd be faster obviously tho, and is a tiny bit closer to pause than chapel st is (but hardly much).

Flava Flavs got problems of his own! / Kate (papa november), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 04:07 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I mean, I love my kids, but I always seem to be teetering on the brink here. Things to do seem to be getting better though - last year I had a bit of a breakdown and scored three weeks stress leave. Man, I couldn't have done without that.

It actually turned into five once my dad got home and told us he had cancer. Haha, good times.

Anyhoo, I think it would be good to work in an office environment and not have to worry about a lot of the stuff that teachers do.

I'm thinking of adapting my gory zombie horror movie idea to a piece of young adult fiction and suck on the teat of speaking at schools and hyping up kids to write.

My book is going to be about kids and a teacher on a school camp discovering the remains of a small goldmining community in the bush and disturbing a grave of some chinese miners killed by white miners during a riot. Mayhem ensues, ghosts and zombies! The educational value comes from all the discussion of rascism and other problems on the victorian goldfields.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 04:20 (twenty years ago)

It's funny, I can see a definite decline in my spelling ability over the last two or three years, just as I began teaching. I used to be incredibly anally retentive about it. Now I throw out any old slop and the kids don't question it.

I blame those foggy periods of my early twenties for my slow decline into stupidity now.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 04:20 (twenty years ago)

Seriously though that sounds like a wikkid plot.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 04:21 (twenty years ago)

Came to me on camp when I was going to take a slash.

I wandered down this rocky hillside to a gully. I had to watch every step, because it would be quite easy to slide down the side of the hill on my butt and break something if I tripped. It was inky black, apart from my head torch. It was also fuckin' freezing.

I got to the bottom and took a leak, looking up at the opposing ridge and realised that I could hear nothing. Usually the bush was buzzing at night.

Then I thought to myself, out of nowhere, 'How shit scary would it be if I saw some pale kid, staring at me from the bushes?'

Yeah, that was quite the thought to have. I don't think I've climbed a hill so quickly in my life.

Yeah, I know exactly where I'm going to set it too - an area around the Mitchell River, near Orbost. There's a couple of aboriginal sacred sites around there - the Den of Nargun and Dead Cock Den. Fuckin' creepy as hell.

The wind and the water trickling through the rocks at Dead Cock Den sounds a lot like kids laughing at 3am.

Fantastic. You should get out there soon and take notes before you lose the spark.

Haha gaz thats what one of my workmates just said too.

I guess I still associate him with Bert and Daryl and those guys and theyre all still going strong. I had no idea Kennedy had been a recluse and in a nursing home so long now, I wonder what was wrong with him? Alzheimers? Cancer?

I had no idea Kennedy had been a recluse and in a nursing home so long now, I wonder what was wrong with him? Alzheimers? Cancer?

A family friend knew him moderately well and said he hasn't been great for years.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:10 (twenty years ago)

he's been really sick for years, he's been in an old age home for quite a while i think even though he's only 71, i don't think it was alzheimers but there was some kind of dementia. was he a boozer? maybe something to do with that. there was a big article about it in the Oz review not that long ago. still sad but.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

Strokes probably. Not sure. He was largely a vegetable for the last couple of years at least, and I gather the press wasn't told any of this so they'd leave him alone, which seems to have worked.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

graeme blundell, who i think knew him really well years ago, wrote the article in the oz, it was really sad as it interviewed the two old friends who always looked after him (i've forgotten who they were now. tony sadler? someone tv related)) as he had no family and whatnot.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

Tony Sattler, co-wrote Kingswood Country, Naked Vicar Show etc etc.

I'm pretty sure he didn't have a wife but his relationships were kept well out of the media.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:42 (twenty years ago)

He has no family? How awful! He's so well known. This kind of thing makes me so sad. I have a horrible terror of being ill and alone like that, I should think I'd probably just gas myself if it came to it.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

He didn't have a wife. :)

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:48 (twenty years ago)

well when i say that, adam's right, i meant he didn't have a wife and kids. but the article read like these two friends were his family so yeah i think tony sattler was one and there was also a woman - maybe tony sattler's wife? anyways that is my full extent of knowledge about him so i'll shut up now.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:52 (twenty years ago)

No I mean he didn't have a wife.

I am looking forward to the holidays, whereever I go.

Last time I was in the states during summer I spent my holidays lazily picking cucumbers and beans out in the yard of this place in the backwoods. If it got too hot I'd go and drink sweet tea on the porch. If I got bored Remar (my girlf's mum's boyf) would allow me to shoot things with high-powered rifles. Occasionally we'd go out for mexican and beers.

Arrrgghggghhghghghhhhghhh.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:47 (twenty years ago)

Shiiiiiit Trayce, have you watched it? It's solid gold television!

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:49 (twenty years ago)

Is there a computer system/application called Snort?

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:50 (twenty years ago)

Hey, is '24' worth hiring?

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:51 (twenty years ago)

i don't understand tv references

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:58 (twenty years ago)

IS THIS SOMETHING YOU WOULD REQUIRE A TELEVISION TO UNDERSTAND?

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 06:01 (twenty years ago)

probably. i only watch baseball

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 06:01 (twenty years ago)

Ahhh! Rounders.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 06:06 (twenty years ago)

well i watched it last saturday night and i must say i completely loved it. i'm going out this saturday but i'm going to try and tape it on the dodge-city vcr mum and dad gave me a few weeks ago. don't like my chances though :( which is very sad. i do have to admit that i considered turning down the invitation in favour of watching it. oh my. my life truly is pathetic.

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 06:07 (twenty years ago)

these days I only watch sports, and hilarious "the english don't know shit about renovations" show Property Ladder.

haitch (haitch), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 06:16 (twenty years ago)

Dr Who: it was disappointing cos i thought it might be, y'know, good. but i'll give it another chance. i think the prob might be that i want multi episode plots not wham bam over. also the girl (who might never lose her baby fat) shoulda been in a cheetah costume or something.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 09:12 (twenty years ago)

There's a whole bunch of two-parters coming up and it gets a whole lot better. The first episode is way too rushed.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 09:24 (twenty years ago)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 04:14 (twenty years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 26 May 2005 04:24 (twenty years ago)

(xp) trayce do you know much about website design? i know we have an opening here at the mo'.

haitch (haitch), Thursday, 26 May 2005 04:28 (twenty years ago)

i just had the weirdest phone call from the nicest girl. sometimes i wish i were twenty years older and better looking.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 04:33 (twenty years ago)

ah i mean younger of course.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 04:33 (twenty years ago)

I had this real important document I wanted people to look through, right? So I goes to print it this lunchtime and not only is the file not in the folder I saved it to, there was no trace anywhere on the computer that it had ever existed. So I retyped all eight pages in 20 minutes - because that's all I had - off the top of my head...

...and then I stood up, kicked over my office chair and started fighting my co-workers who had morphed into the agents from the Matrix, because there is a big conspiracy to eliminate me because I am the one.

Now I can't find my wallet. FUCK.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Thursday, 26 May 2005 08:30 (twenty years ago)

don't fight it. they're gonna get you.

run.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 08:35 (twenty years ago)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 21:19 (twenty years ago)

Well, I'm up too Mr Mully. Second espresso YEAH!

moley, Thursday, 26 May 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 26 May 2005 21:38 (twenty years ago)

I got to work 20 mins earlier than usual, whats with that? I did get a tacksi in tho. Whats with insane taxi drivers who almost act like their own cliche?

This one was almost doing it in point form. "Yeah how about dat Howard... he a bastid... I shoot dem all! bangk! Bangk! Bleddy Howahd. Only racist eediots vot for heem. ... Howard. Bastid. Bleddy Amerrikans..."

and so on in that fashion (argh).

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 26 May 2005 21:41 (twenty years ago)

he talks sense, I would vote for that man!

haitch (haitch), Thursday, 26 May 2005 22:06 (twenty years ago)

He sounded like some kind of Italian labor apparatchik mafia dude, I mean I agreed with his rambling but he was kind of unhinged =) Also, he kept talking after I got out of the cab so I was all "haha yeahbye" and slammed the door on his still-rantingness.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 26 May 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

I FOUND MY WALLET.
]
Not before I ate tomato out of tins last night 'cos I was out of food and I couldn't get anymore due to not having any of my bankcards.

Still stressed!

At the gym last night the dude said my blood pressure was HUUUGE. Man, I was freaked out.

I've lost quite a bit of weight lately, doesn't blood pressure do that when you've lost weight?

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Thursday, 26 May 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

Excellent dude. High blood pressure from weight loss? Nah - stress'll do it, pure and simple. Tho mind you I'm a stressbunny and mines low.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 00:07 (twenty years ago)

In other news - I have my own business cards, for the first time in my life! And guess what! They SPELT MY EFFING NAME WRONG! They keep spelling it wrong all the bleedy time. At least the email addy is right. I shall just have to wite-out the 'e'.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 00:12 (twenty years ago)

Well shit, I'd lost 10-15kg, I should fuckin' hope that would have had a good effect. Gym's a lot of fun though, plenty of running, handweights are good stress relief. Once I've toned up a bit, I'm going to do some martial arts at the muay-thai/jiu-jitsu place next door, because I always feel better when I'm learning to beat the shit out of things.

Yeah, sounds good.

I'm going to see Kingdom of Heaven tonight, I like medieval spectacles.

Lookin' forward to this Pause shindig.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 27 May 2005 01:08 (twenty years ago)

OH NO!

I have lost MY wallet!

Which would be horrible, but I have a flight to catch tonight. I thus have no ID to prove who I am, and no money to actually get a train to the airport.

Shit fuck shit fuck. Mongrels, please pray to Jebus that it's in the jacket I was wearing last night which I forgot to search before I came into work.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 27 May 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

it must be

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 01:39 (twenty years ago)

On the plus side, if I do miss this flight, I have an extra two days to finish my 10,000 word research proposal. But it WON'T FEEL LIKE THAT TO ME.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 27 May 2005 01:44 (twenty years ago)

Yeah dude find yr wallet cos like, without it youre not getting on any plane.

heh this is all very weird. My b/f lost HIS wallet 2 days before our flight last week as well. Turned out he'd left it at work though luckily.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:14 (twenty years ago)

So in Kates absence today, whats the haps tomoz? Pause at what time did we decide? 5pm, or was it earlier?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:14 (twenty years ago)

chappers: is she guilty yet?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:15 (twenty years ago)

And whos coming aside from me and Mikey? Jim? Adam I guess not and Sasha said it was a "crappy winebar" so poos ;P

I'll bring nick along, he can rant drunkenly as per.

The last proper FAP we had was that Pony one when I brought Nalini along. *shudder*. Theres some times I'd rather shove in a hole.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:16 (twenty years ago)

I'm sick of the Corby thing. She'll go down for it - no question. Wether she did it or not I dont care, its the media shitting me. Why didnt we hear this fuss when those 5 japanese businessmen who, to all intents, were set up by some Malay guy, got put in jail here for drugs they probably didnt know about? Some of them are still in jail in aus!

And oh, people locked up here from other countries for years without legal redress? Hm... nah, that doesnt happen HERE, now does it?

Fuck off and DIE, channels 7 and 9. Die, horribly. I dont even WATCH you anyway.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:17 (twenty years ago)

so you don't know?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:19 (twenty years ago)

My housemate: "Oh, I don't really care about Shapelle Corby. But it's a shame about the Bali nine. Some of them are cute."

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:21 (twenty years ago)

Edward: are you living with bongheads or something? =)

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:29 (twenty years ago)

and heh, no I dont know gaz ;)

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:29 (twenty years ago)

its bloody weird here. theres a line of tvs above the news room and everyones standing there in front of them watching. (the tv in here has been turned to it too but no ones watching)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:31 (twenty years ago)

I really fail to see why this is such a big issue. Its not like Aussies havent been jailed/put to death for drugs before now. Whys this so special? Cos the media make us think she's innocent? Feh, I say.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:33 (twenty years ago)

Watch one Bangkok Hilton, oh forgetful Australians.

I blame Nicole Kidman, thats it.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:34 (twenty years ago)

maybe i should just go watch the telly down the back. anyone comes i can flip channels over to chappers and express concern. everyone else is. i wonder if springer is on?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:44 (twenty years ago)

o she got 20 years.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:44 (twenty years ago)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 02:56 (twenty years ago)

Your work exp girl either has a supremely evil sense of humour, or is a big git.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:05 (twenty years ago)

shes from hong kong. she also likes famous australian band abba. she has seen them at star city.

she's very nice.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

Hhaha, OMG, that's a long time ago Trayce!

I'm kinda glad she went down, for crimes against my snobbish sensibilities.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:33 (twenty years ago)

generica just had a go at me for daring to ask why this has to be such a big hoo haa. hes all "learn why people have empathy dude, shes a young aussie girl blah" yeah wtf ok I know thats why.

But meanwhile, howard fiddles away our award while rome burns, so to speak.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:35 (twenty years ago)

generica?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:40 (twenty years ago)

Hahah, well, I...have not seen eye to eye with Brett on quite a few occassions.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:41 (twenty years ago)

Sorry, guy called Brett I know off LJ (guy I dated briefly. God knows why. Jim knows him too).

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:48 (twenty years ago)

Haha Mikey yeah I recall you and/or Cait have had stoushes with Brett before... and once he MSNed me and was all "read what I said, tell me its ok, why are they pissed off?"

I was just thinking "man keep me out of this". Hes ok really but god he can be a smartass.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 03:49 (twenty years ago)

Y...You...You date-date-dated B-B-Brett?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 27 May 2005 04:05 (twenty years ago)

And me and Cait are grumpy shits who love an LJ stoush.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 27 May 2005 04:23 (twenty years ago)

Wallet was in jacket. Fucking A. Off to airport.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 27 May 2005 04:43 (twenty years ago)

I dated Brett yeah. Well kind of. Does "I shagged him a few times ansd hung out with him and then after about a month he ran away screaming because I'm a clingy psycho" count?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 05:05 (twenty years ago)

Flava Flavs got problems of his own! / Kate (papa november), Friday, 27 May 2005 08:21 (twenty years ago)

So whats happening with the crazy wigs n makeup dealie? We doing that at all, or no time?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 27 May 2005 10:34 (twenty years ago)

I dunno, I'm not sure I'll have time, although I did bring some of my stuff down. We're going to see Henry Rollins same evening (How did I get roped into that?) and have some time to kill, so I might bring my makeup and a few wigs in a bag with a couple of my lights and if we have time we can have a go. Sound okay?

Happy Saturday Mongrels/Fuxors.

Flava Flavs got problems of his own! / Kate (papa november), Friday, 27 May 2005 21:22 (twenty years ago)

It's Rollins spoken word, which is fantastic.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 27 May 2005 22:59 (twenty years ago)

If you havent much time its all good :) No need to have to cart stuff around that'd get in the way. I had no idea Rollins was on tonite. Still Ive seen his spoken word before and it was pretty good, if a little self-obsessed with old age.

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 28 May 2005 01:49 (twenty years ago)

i have trouble reconciling rollins new thing where he goes to visit soldiers with his heavy criticism of the bush administration. it seems illogical to me. having said that he is pretty funny and eloquent. and has some interesting views.

gem (trisk), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:21 (twenty years ago)

He can be funny, and yet he can be a droning old punk whinger as well. I'm on the fence with him, but mostly I like his stuff.

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:30 (twenty years ago)

yeah you are right trayce, i heard a radio interview with him last week when he was promoting his perth show, he was definitely in drone mode, he went on and on about how his friends from school are all married with kids and he doesn't have that so he has to keep to this punishing international standup schedule and how he'd just love to have some time to sit down and read books. then i was forced to change the radio station.

gem (trisk), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:34 (twenty years ago)

I saw him maybe 3 years ago and half his act was "omg I'm 40 and Im old and help argh" so if he is still whining on about that, then thats a bit crap!

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:35 (twenty years ago)

Heading off to FAP soon.. I wonder who'll be there apart from me, Nick, Mikey and Kate? I shall bring my camera nonetheless.

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:36 (twenty years ago)

yes pics plz!

also he did that routine in the radio interview!!! except now he is 44.

gem (trisk), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:37 (twenty years ago)

We are running a little late 5.30 yeah?

Flava Flavs got problems of his own! / Kate (papa november), Saturday, 28 May 2005 05:55 (twenty years ago)

Day 1. Edward is NOT winning. Coming bloody second. 7 games to go, in a foul bloody mood and hate everbody.

Tch. Should have known better than to ever go to the Gold Coast. My research proposal should be being written RIGHT NOW but instead I am moping. I need wine.

edward o (edwardo), Saturday, 28 May 2005 07:42 (twenty years ago)

ah bless

gem (trisk), Saturday, 28 May 2005 08:06 (twenty years ago)

Okay, it's the first time I've played in about two months, but god, I used to be good at this and for me to not be winning and for everything to be going to shit makes me want to just BLOODY QUIT.

Why do people continue doing things they no longer enjoy just because they once loved doing them with a passion whose intensity bordered ever so slightly on the insane?

edward o (edwardo), Saturday, 28 May 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

Hey thanks Trayce, Mikey, Nick that was fun!
