Big Brother (UK 2005) - Come anticipate Craig's eviction with me (thread 5)

Let's count those betfair odds down:

TO WIN
Makosi: 4/1
Kemal: 5/1
Derek: 5/1
Anthony: 13/2
Science: 17/2
Maxwell: 9/1
Eugene OR Orlaith (joint ticket): 12/1
Craig: 30/1
Vanessa: 50/1

NEXT EVICTION

Craig: 2/1
Maxwell: 3/1
Vanessa: 6/1
Science: 13/2
Eugence: 18/1
Orlaith: 27/1
Derek: 30/1
Anthony: 33/1
Kemal: 40/1
Makosi: 40/1

As a betting man, a tenner on Science to win (he's riding the polls at the moment and all he needs is one moment to turn around a few doubters later on. If he survives The Lost Boys going out he'll have nothing to inflame him so he should be safe) seems sensible. Also, £5 on Anthony at 33/1 seems great value, because if Team Diva go for him over Craig he might not beat Maxwell in a run-off.

So there you go.

On one hand I've got myself to blame (Lynskey), Saturday, 2 July 2005 11:53 (twenty years ago)

I have just realised that I have no idea what odds mean. 13/2? 9/1? What? Which is better than the other? They make no sense.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 2 July 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

C'mon lex. 13/2 is 6.5/1. They round it up - so 9/1 is better odds as it is more return, 13/2 is considered more favourite.

and they always quote 100/30 because 10/3 could be mixed up with a race time.

3underscore (___), Saturday, 2 July 2005 12:53 (twenty years ago)

So if you bet on something which is 9/1 and win, you get nine times the amount of whatever you bet? But if you lose, you just lose that amount? And I've seen bets like 9/4, surely they are getting into ridiculous maths territory there.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 2 July 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

ridiculous maths? 9/4 is quite easy to understand. very easy ectually.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 2 July 2005 13:06 (twenty years ago)

i mean that sounded patronising, maybe arithmetic is a weak point for you, sorry. but it's simple (primary school) arithmetic. 9/4 as a fraction is 9 over 4 = 2 and a quarter or 2.25. you get 2.25 as much back as you bet initially so for £1 you would win £2.25.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 2 July 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

I was always really bad at fractions :(

(I have forgotten all maths ever since leaving school which means that I am in the ludicrous situation of possessing an A level in the subject but being unable to do basic arithmetic without a calculator)

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 2 July 2005 13:18 (twenty years ago)

Not mine, but I found it amusing:

I can't wait until Craig goes. Book hating swine.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 2 July 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

you are all thick as shit

telling you how better than you i am, Saturday, 2 July 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

Shit tends to vary in consistency. I move to strike your comments from the record.

In hindsight it would've been better to see Saskia still in and squirming, I've not caught any of the aftermath yet but I'm looking forward to it.

On one hand I've got myself to blame (Lynskey), Saturday, 2 July 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

the miked up snogging between those two (and whatever else last night) had something of the industrial music's intention ('hamburger lady' throbbing gristle etc), uncomfortable and not only bcz of who was getting it on.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 2 July 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

I fear that Craig's unutterable appallingness, so obvious to the viewers on TV, may have been sufficiently blunted by the HM's loathing for Maxwell. I think this is as their Max-hate is based on how his vileness is inevitably expressed directly to them - cf the Kemal incident and the innumerable barneys with Science, whereas Craig tends to be vilest when in the, um, bosom of Team Twunt.

darren (darren), Saturday, 2 July 2005 16:42 (twenty years ago)

I thought Maxwell's surname was just Ward - I guess the double barrelling with Trotter makes him the epitome of nouveau riche, it's like trying to affect something posh but failing so dismally. Isn't Vanessa the possessor of a double-barrelled surname as well?

I don't even hate any of them any more, I now just have a general feeling of meh-ness towards the whole house. Makosi is winning in my heart by default.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 2 July 2005 16:44 (twenty years ago)

In other words, he may avoid nomination while Maxwell goes up instead. While those two are clearly the most loathsome creatures left in the house, I am on of those that would love to see a Team Twunt vs Team Diva tussle on Friday. With the probable exception of a Max v Vanessa tussle, it could only result in a victory for Team Diva and some serious humble pie for M and C...

darren (darren), Saturday, 2 July 2005 16:47 (twenty years ago)

I kinda hope that Science and Eugene form their own rap-duo. I can see them going for Christmas number one. Derek will definetely be in panto, he is that cool.

Anyway, Anthony will move himself away from Max and Craig this week.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 2 July 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

Maybe he will, but why bother? He might be harmless for the most part, but he's still harmlessly gormless.

Negativa, True Believer (Sheryl Crow in a Britney costume) (Barima), Saturday, 2 July 2005 18:05 (twenty years ago)

nah, he's an evil genius.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 2 July 2005 18:10 (twenty years ago)

you're thinking of a different Geordie - specifically Jimmy Nail as Spender.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Saturday, 2 July 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

Ant reminds me of Dec.

mark grout (mark grout), Sunday, 3 July 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

i can't believe no one has commented on last night's hot tub antics.
oh my lord

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 12:02 (twenty years ago)

Well, what happened? I just watched BBLB not ask Saskia about bigotry.

suzy (suzy), Sunday, 3 July 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

I am just catching up via Digital Spy having not watched any BB last night. It sounds appalling and I'm glad I missed it.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 3 July 2005 12:26 (twenty years ago)

mrs fiendish woke me from my hungover stupor this morning to tell me about some vileness involving the hot tub and anthony's cock. how i managed to avoid vomiting, i don't know.

(also: how mrs fiendish manages to avoid hangovers, i don't know.)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 3 July 2005 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I saw some hot-tub vileness on E4+1 last night (ordinary E4 doesn't seem to work on my freeview). It was truly vile. ICK.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 3 July 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

craig

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:39 (twenty years ago)

anthony on homosexuality:
"I think maxwell's a bit more adjusted to it, cos he works in topshop..."

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

i hate these people. hate them all.

except eugene.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:42 (twenty years ago)

i hate eugene

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

oh, sorry, for those of you who missed out, it involved about 10 solid minutes of bare breast sucking, followed by four-person naked hot tub fumbling and anthony suspiciously facing forward, 'fiddling with the hot water jet' and... then the broadcast cut out, as apparently more raunchy goings on occurred. wow. all at the family hour at 12.30 am or thereabouts. i'm curious to see the highlights show...

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:50 (twenty years ago)

Is that "bare breast sucking" as in "sucking of a nude breast", or were you talking in Estuary patois?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

anthony is currently sucking orlaith's breasts. ooh, no: he's now up to all sorts of shenanigans with makosi.

science is looking on, all dejected. i'm not surprised: it's the single least sexy thing i have ever seen.

did i say how much i hate these people?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

craig was crying big crocodile tears
'BUT I'M ANTHONY'S SLAVE! ME! ME! ME!'
unhealthy obsession there. it's disturbing me

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

Yes. You also added 'except eugene'. It's Arkham for you, sonny!

"And then my mum put a currant bun in the toaster burble burble" SHUT UP SHUT UP YOU BORING BASTARD.

Flyboy (Flyboy), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

yes. that conversation has maybe changed the way i feel. sorry, eugene.

maxwell is now getting all teary over saskia. shame it's not because someone's just hit him in the pods with a hammer.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

Someone in the pool, to Science: "You're watching us like it's a television show!"
Science: "It IS a television show."

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

brilliant.
i can't BELIEVE this stupidity:
"They won't show the snog on TV," Orlaith said uneasily. "Will they?"
DUH

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:07 (twenty years ago)

I liked it when Craig was talking at length about "Everywhere I go, everyone treats me like SHIT!" I was thinking, "If it quacks like a duck..."

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

This thread is funny today. I hate them all too.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

Haha, that Science line was grebt. Derek was OTM wrt Craig in the diary room. He is quite clearly infatuated with Anthony.

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

I reckon it'll be an eviction match-up of Craig vs Orlaith this week, based on the increasingly irritating Team Yawn's pronouncement that O is two-faced (read: she has the ability to be friendly to various different people).

darren (darren), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:33 (twenty years ago)

I am becoming increasingly annoyed by the house's tit fixation, especially since the focal points of it are Orlaith's freakily unnatural looking wrongboobs.

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 3 July 2005 20:33 (twenty years ago)

Orlaith seems fascinated by her own boobs, maybe more so than anyone else.

Maxwell came out of the highlights show well, surprise surprise.

Craig to Anthony: "Did you fuck her?" How the hell don't you know, freaky-man-tit-boy, you were in the pool with them at the time! Makosi and Orlaith's girlie chat in the bathroom "he kept asking me did you come, I was trying to get myself off but couldn't" etc was also horrifying. GET THESE PEOPLE OFF MY TELLY! (yes, I know, I could turn over, but...)

RickyT OTM about Derek in the diary room. Craig is like a lovesick teenager over Anthony, and I don't think he's equipped to deal with it.

Has Vanessa done *anything* yet?

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

I keep forgetting she's there.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

The mister has hardly seen any of Big Brother but caught the end of the highlights show. Makosi & Orlaith, Orlaith & Anthony, Makosi & Anthony, Orlaith & Craig...he was all like "why do you watch this?".

I wish I could have answered him.

Horrible thought. Imagine if Sam and/or Lesley had been involved in naked jacuzzi wrongness. Yeuch. I'm not even thinking about Saskia because I'm still mentally scarred from that photo aldo posted of her topless.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

NO (more) NAKED JACUZZI!

MichelleT (RickyT), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:09 (twenty years ago)

I felt sorry for some of them

science v. funny, eugene funny too

craig pathetic but at the same time contingency unleashed*

*and therefore he is punk

*and an asshole

c/n (Cozen), Sunday, 3 July 2005 21:39 (twenty years ago)

Eugene was telling some story about seeing Rolf Harris in concert and having taken a stylophone along...

Rolf: "Ah, I haven't seen one of these in years!"
Eugene: "Can you tell what it is yet, mate?"

Eugene: "Rolf seemed to appreciate that comment!"
Maxwell: " ! "
Eugene: "It's true"
Maxwell: "I don't doubt it!"

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 07:22 (twenty years ago)

wow, did maxwell really say "!" ?

cool!
i can't wait til BB housemates start saying "..."

g-kit (g-kit), Monday, 4 July 2005 07:43 (twenty years ago)

eugene's washing machine design flaws anecdote was funny for all the wrong reasons, as usual.

makosi didn't do herself any favours yesterday, not least when bigging up abbey titmouse.

the topshop comment was great.

koogs (koogs), Monday, 4 July 2005 07:49 (twenty years ago)

so what was all that about with the plane flying overhead with a banner? i caught some footage yesterday and maxwell was going on about the banner saying something with 'death' on. do we know more on what this was all about?

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 4 July 2005 08:05 (twenty years ago)

plane went over saying 'derek for tory leader' and a website address (which ch4 blanked out).

koogs (koogs), Monday, 4 July 2005 08:20 (twenty years ago)

i'm traumatized.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 4 July 2005 09:24 (twenty years ago)

those motherfuckers are loose.

N_RQ, Monday, 4 July 2005 09:57 (twenty years ago)

ihttp://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/day39/d39_1100_bedbreak_2.jpg

Usually, the average 'tune into the BB live feed and Orla has no top on' is 50%

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:22 (twenty years ago)

The blanked out bit of the banner was The Sun wasn't it? Maxwell said it was red and black, and that red-top has a history of this type of stunt.

Saskia was vile in her interview, but the video montage of Saskia and her boys [Saskia flipping peanuts into their eager mouths to a soundtrack of 'how much is that doggy in the window'] was excellent.

Along with most other people on here, I'm getting depressed at how unlikeable most of these people are. I find Science amusing when he interacts with Eugene and Derek but he's still too brattish. Vanessa is my current most hated, equally as poisonous as Craig - it bothered me to see her and Kemal in bed, badmouthing Makosi. Most disloyal house ever.

Watching Craig sob while Anthony flitted from Makosi to Orlaith was like witnessing some 21st century parable. Or something.

Affectian (Affectian), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:40 (twenty years ago)

davina really fucked me off, she was so soft on saskia. i think this is because davina was probably like saskia 10 or 15 years ago, a desperate wannabe.

N_RQ, Monday, 4 July 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

It's because Davina is "Touchdown stewardess". New arrival from planet ordinary to planet celebrity, via "BigBrotherHouse" flight. Helping to acclimatise.

So you all hate Saskia. So she disappears from view shortly. Better thant then she gets attacked in the street for some mouthiness that the 'victims' have sort of forgiven/forgotten/filed away in 'unimportant'.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

as long as she does fade away, cool. shame davina couldn't have pressed her more on being a racist bully, though.

N_RQ, Monday, 4 July 2005 11:43 (twenty years ago)

Nominations are today...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:47 (twenty years ago)

what's the orgy aftermath?

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:48 (twenty years ago)

a dose

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:48 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell's odds dropping very quickly.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:48 (twenty years ago)

... judging by the reactions on this thread: disgust, despair and self-loathing... that's on the part of the viewers not the orgiasts

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:50 (twenty years ago)

Is THAT what they're calling them these days etc etc.

Craig is despicable but blimey-o reilxx0r, I haven't seen such an OTM televisual Judy Blume character since... since... well, I haven't! OMG! Do you think he will be used as a teaching guide for 'hormonal teenagers' in the future?

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Monday, 4 July 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

There's no way he's replacing me!!!

Negativa, True Believer (Sheryl Crow in a Britney costume) (Barima), Monday, 4 July 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

So, nominations predictions for this week?

Anthony - Derek and Vanessa
Craig - Makosi and Kemal
Derek - Orlaith and Maxwell
Eugene - Craig and Maxwell
Kemal - Orlaith and Maxwell
Makosi - Maxwell and Craig
Maxwell - Derek and Kemal
Orlaith - Makosi and Maxwell
Science - Craig and Maxwell
Vanessa - Derek and Craig

Maxwell and Craig, with Craig to go.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

Fingers crossed!

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:11 (twenty years ago)

i want vanessa to go. craig is only at the beginning of his 'arc'.

N_RQ, Monday, 4 July 2005 14:12 (twenty years ago)

I'm not watching it anymore since that horrible Irish woman showed up

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:14 (twenty years ago)

Anthony - Science and Vanessa
Craig - Orlaith and Kemal
Derek - Eugene and Maxwell
Eugene - Vanessa and Kemal
Kemal - Craig and Maxwell
Makosi - Maxwell and Craig
Maxwell - Eugene and Kemal
Orlaith - Vanessa and Maxwell
Science - Craig and Maxwell
Vanessa - Derek and Craig

Right, I could explain specifics, but suffice to say, Orla still grateful to Makosi for the food and choice, ditto Makosi won't nom her baby chicks... Kemal and Derek both loved Orlaith 2 days ago..

Have to add up now.

1 Science
3 vanessa
1 Orla
3 Kemal
2 Eugene
5 Maxwell
4 Craig
1 Derek

tum ti tum, twenty noms, yep, so...

Maxwell vs Craig. Possibly.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

At which point Craig will cry and moan SO MUCH that the great maxwell hating british public will be moved to yell "OH SHUT UP! fuck a bout!"

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

Same sort of logic as me, although I think Orlaith will always vote for the two she sees as the biggest threat to her winning.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

ah, that was the same result as aldo's!

Umm, not even sure that Craig will be up! But the figs seem to suggest, now that theres a lack of general Derek/Science hating now.

xpost, possibly, but it's too early to have no-one she feels akin to to live with for weeks...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

i have the fear that maxwell will keep surviving eviction attempts and end up in the final 3

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

He IS Paul Clark.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

watched some at lunch time and at least they were all sat together for once.

but fuck that live feed, it's mostly just bird noises !

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

yeah. if he chills out a bit, then he'll probably make it. i think with saskia gone, the others are going to go through a phase of "the witch is dead" bad behaviour and forget that they actually have to keep making themselves look good to stay in the house. maxwell can probably lay low and avoid notice.

xpost

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 4 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

Oh, and if Craig does get evicted, this will be the shortest BB thread ever.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

Thread has to reach at least 500 posts before a new one is started.

Endemol (blueski), Monday, 4 July 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)

tsk.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 4 July 2005 15:37 (twenty years ago)

I can see Maxwell having saved himself from noms this week. The highlights plus didjspy have given the impression that his behaviour - at least in front of the HMs that don't like him - has almost immediately softened now that Swastika Eyes has gone. He has moved back the more affable version of his general crapness that made him popular in the first place.

I stick to what I said upthread - Orlaith will get nommed by Vanessa and Kemal (still fighting the faction wars) and Craig (a lover spurned, obv) and at least one other, and will be up against Craig.

darren (darren), Monday, 4 July 2005 16:52 (twenty years ago)

Orlaith would survive against Craig, correct?

DigiSpy rumour-mongering: apparently going into the first eviction show Craig had 55% of the vote compared to Mary's 45%. Post 30 minutes of Mary and Saskia barneys, it went 60/40 in favour of the mad Irisher's eviction.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 4 July 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

Vanessa's performance in the diary room...dear God, what is that girl all about? "Ooh, I love gossip, it was like Ola snogging Makosi, yeah, and they were like touching each others tits, yeah, and Makosi was snogging Anthony for like half an hour, yeah, then Ola was snogging Anthony, yeah..." etc etc.

(1) Does she, like, think Big Brother *missed* it, yeah?
(2) How difficult can it be to get Orlaith's name right. It's, like, two syllables, yeah?
(3) Like, just go away, yeah?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

"This is Big Brother, can the wackiest zaniest housemate..."

Cue "me me me" squealing from Vanessa (though Eugene seemed quite keen to put himself forward)

I hate anyone who voluntarily considers themself to be "wacky".

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

When Maxwell goes, his best bits are just going to be his diary room conversations aren't they? He's so much more likeable when there isn't anyone else around. I think he's actually a very funny bloke but is lacking someone to bounce off (yeah, yeah, I know, but you try phrasing it better) in the house.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Makosi: "Anthony is massive, you would need stitches if you slept with him"

also

"I was touching myself then he moved my hand away and he touched me and that's when I came. Sorry mum".

Worst (yet best) Big Brother ever.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

In contrast "Science and Eugene have been building sandcastles for 19 minutes"

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Vanessa - why ? Or more pertinently, how ? How did she get in the house (yeah, I know she is Marco's mate and that) ? Six weeks now and not a bit of her to remember. Ailsa OTM, can't add much to that beyond a) she bitches about people with far more character and consequently a threat, ie, all the other women bar Makosi, and b) her fucking annoying London-shite Aussie-style question intonation mixed with all the yeah, like and so on. Euuurgh !!! She must go, even more than Gay Craig.

darren (darren), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

I'm kind of feeling sorry for Craig now, I don't find him hateful, I just think he is pitifully out of his depth. He's so *young*.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

(1) Does she, like, think Big Brother *missed* it, yeah?
(2) How difficult can it be to get Orlaith's name right. It's, like, two syllables, yeah?

heh, that's two of my rants covered, then.

still, the glorious poetic justice of vanessa not just fucking up her own week but fucking it up for her dreadful "friends" too ... ha. dick.

of course, it takes a special kind of wanker to look like an even bigger tool than orlaith and makosi the morning after an orgy in the pool, but lo: maxwell managed it. "i bet your mums are very proud" ... you sexist fucking prick, maxwell. you laddish wankwad. even if he hadn't been fumbling away with saskia for half the week, it would have sounded unnecessarily aggressive. as it was, it was just vile. what a stain on the trousers of humankind he is.

still, ha! makosi and crappy orlaith and that desperate waste of valuable oxygen vanessa are going to have three days of misery. *mirth*.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

I'm kind of feeling sorry for Craig now

mrs F and i said that too. we must be strong. together we can rekindle our loathing for the odious little scrote.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

mrs F would like to point out that she disagrees with me about maxwell. she doesn't think it was particularly sexist ("even if it was, i don't care"), thinks he's merely making a point after makosi's treatment of him, and says makosi and orlaith are dicks.

so we're fiercely in agreement on the last point, at least.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Eugene has just admitted to videoing and then watching an entire dishwasher cycle!

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Kemal "I'm the most unique person here, everyone else is so self-absorbed, oh what have I done with my life, me me me me me, but it's not me who's self-absorbed, oh no". (I might be paraphrasing just a tad).

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:59 (twenty years ago)

This is the first episode I've seen in a week. Everyone is revolting except Science and Eugene, and possibly Craig. Eugene especially is so endearing!

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

Eugene's dishwasher thing reminded me of a really lame version of the bit in Jeremy Clarkson's old chat show where he used to blow things up, except that Clarkson mustered some enthusiasm for blowing things up, Eugene is just a man with dull hobbies he thinks are interesting. He is just Tickle-lite, isn't he?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:01 (twenty years ago)

Tickle without the wit, verve and intellect, horrifyingly.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

I like them all.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:30 (twenty years ago)

Don't be silly.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:31 (twenty years ago)

I like one of them

c/n (Cozen), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:39 (twenty years ago)

I like half of Science and half of Derek.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:50 (twenty years ago)

i don't want craig to go, i find him interesting. also, i want to see how much further he can sink.

fields of salmon (fieldsofsalmon), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 06:01 (twenty years ago)

Right, this morning, I'm fairly certain Orlaith nominated Eugenius.

If so, I reckon he will be up against Maxwell and/or Craig

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:17 (twenty years ago)

> watching an entire dishwasher cycle!

see, i sat and thought about this and a washing machine cycle would be so much more interesting than a dishwasher cycle - more tumbling. i like the way eugenius' stories are always cut with people either laughing more than they should (Makosi) or not laughing at all (Maxwell).

i am waiting for all the blokes to gay up, it can't be more than a day or so away.

am surprised anthony didn't get more votes (or are those predictions?)

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:38 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but a washing machine cycle would smash the video camera to bits!

I think if Craig escapes noms, its because they all feel sorry for him!

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:39 (twenty years ago)

it's gone so weird. i agree with dom, derek and science are half-okay, but the rest of them are vermin. ok, a bit harsh there.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:46 (twenty years ago)

wasn't a video camera video camera, was it? it was one of those tiny solid state circuit board mounted video cameras from what he was saying, the kind of thing you hide in teddy bears' eyes to trap abusive au pairs:

http://www.stancom.trident.org/cube.jpg

(worst web page evah!:
http://www.cctvusa.com/camerabw.htm
)

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:51 (twenty years ago)

i though maxwell was relatively funny taking the piss out of orlaith and makosi. to be fair, they were being a pair of tramps.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:53 (twenty years ago)

haha: orlaith said she snogged craig because she felt sorry for him.

vanessa: 'i could see the pity on your face'.

anthony was pretty weird.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:54 (twenty years ago)

i really enjoyed makosi and vanessa's snug chat, when they were assessing orlaith's competitiveness; after discussing her flirty, trampy ways, makosi says 'i'm so glad i've got you.'
'yeah, cos you need another girl'
no, cos you're no threat whatsoever, you minger! hahahahaha!

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 08:35 (twenty years ago)

eugene is extremely creepy. he's going to lose it one day and take out his frustrations in public with a homemade crossbow.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:12 (twenty years ago)

though maxwell was relatively funny taking the piss out of orlaith and makosi. to be fair, they were being a pair of tramps.

While Anthony and Craig were being what?

Maxwell's reaction to that whole episode, including his "does that include having sex" remark during the briefing for the task, was nothing but jealousy. His barely-concealed hostility towards just about everyone and the way all conversation seems to stop when he swaggers into the room is really uncomfortable.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:16 (twenty years ago)

eugene needs sex

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

anthony and craig were also being tramps, yes.

maxwell wasn't being jealous. makosi's lame attempt to (how to put this?) "seduce" maxwell was amazingly low. and maxwell wasn't innarested.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:18 (twenty years ago)

derek and science are half-okay, but the rest of them are vermin. ok, a bit harsh there.

Harsh? I think not.

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:33 (twenty years ago)

also: what is so difficult about pronouncing orlaith's name? it's or-la not o-lar. O-LAR sounds like an evil alien warlord.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:47 (twenty years ago)

... an evil alien warlord with hideous fake boobs

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

and big feet.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:55 (twenty years ago)

It should be pronounced Oolaa.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:56 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell's nose well put out now. What a boor.

The pool shenanigans seemed like good fun to me, wahts the fkn fuss all about? Jeez.

dm, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:57 (twenty years ago)

it was kinda sleazy, dm. but yeah, obviously great fun -- for craig especially. anthony had so much fun he forgot all about it.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 10:59 (twenty years ago)

I thought of a joke:

Q: "How did you get that black eye?"
A: "I walked into a boor"

... don't all applaud at once

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:00 (twenty years ago)

despite the fact that i find anthony pretty boorish, i felt a twinge of sympathy for him when he was in the throes of his morning-after fear. then i remembered that the huge majority of people are sensible enough not to put themselves in situations in which their every move is up for public viewing, and i resumed laughing at him.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:06 (twenty years ago)

Orlaith was great when Max and Ant were "teasing" her while grating carrots. Good comebacks.
I liking Orlaith more and more.

The sexist double satndards on here: wow.

Ant didn't "forget".

dm, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:08 (twenty years ago)

Well, he apologised to Craig for what he said.

Then apologised to Makosi etc for what he couldn't remember.

All happened at the same time, right?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:11 (twenty years ago)

where's the double-standard? they're all a bunch of tarts.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:12 (twenty years ago)

They're all vile but not all of them have hideous fake boobs that they insist on relentlessly flashing

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

orlaith has nicer fake boobs than sam. and she does have killer legs.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:22 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell clearly has one rule for his friend and another for the women he mucked about with in the pool. All things being equal I would dearly love either Makosi or Orlaith to admonish Max for going around ALL DAY EVERY DAY with his 40B norks hanging out.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:24 (twenty years ago)

The one I missed, but wished I had seen:

Craig (I think, might have been Anthony) - "Science, stop looking at me like I'm on television of something."
Science - "You are on television..."

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

Very strong rumours that it's Maxwell and Science this week. If true, I might have vote for the first time this year.

THE TERRORISTS CANNOT WIN.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:06 (twenty years ago)

confession: i voted last week. my burning hatred for maxwell is such that i felt the 35p plus tariff was a small price to pay for letting my voice be heard.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

I didn't care which one of Maxkia went, as long as it was one of them. But the other has to go this week. I'm betting, if he does, that he'll convince himself the GBP just want him to be with her, and that's why they've evicted him.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:12 (twenty years ago)

Can you not vote for free on the C4 site? Science has GOT to stay in the house.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

science must stay, but more suitable evictees than maxwell are surely vanessa or eugene.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

That Science line was godlike. He cannot be allowed to go.

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:17 (twenty years ago)

I assume it'll be announced at 5:30

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

Science's odds for eviction are now 1/2, so I'm assuming he's up against either Maxwell, Derek, or Makosi. Maxwell seems the most likely.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell now favourite to win. Dear heaven no. Still 60 days to go though!

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

there could be more than one nominee.

60 days!!!!! fucking hell.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)

How can Maxwell be favourite? Have the Great British Public gone entirely mad?

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

I'm emigrating

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell IS the 'Great British Public'. Enough women think he is fit, enough men agree/identify with his boorish demeanour - presumably these are the ones who vote in their droves, but the former have the most power it seems. I am still baffled by the extent to which he gets love when Saskia got hate though - given the similarities.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:07 (twenty years ago)

But I thought only teenage girls and gay stereotypes voted in BB

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

I think Eugene will win.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

I do hope so

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

he'll go next week.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

actually scratch that - at this rate, Science this week, then Orlaith, then Vanessa, Craig, Maxwell, Eugene, Derek, Kemal, Makosi, Anthony

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:18 (twenty years ago)

So it's Maxwell and Science. I'm going to have to make my first vote ever to keep Science in, purely for moments like "meanwhile, Science and Eugene are making sandcastles on muscle beach."

Affectian (Affectian), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)

Granted that he is one of the most annoying people I've ever seen in my life but if Science is voted out then I despair for the human race

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:42 (twenty years ago)

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:42 (twenty years ago)

Public drops Science and lets Maxwell off the hook.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

I have voted (from work phone!)

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 16:04 (twenty years ago)

go on, madchen!

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

That's stealing.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

If the word 'chav' fills you with horror for any reason at all, vote for Maxwell.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 16:24 (twenty years ago)

Metropolitan Elite vs Tango-tanned Dollybirds FITE!

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 16:27 (twenty years ago)

Wow, my favourite by far up against my least favourite by far! Please, please, please vote Maxwell.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

I *am* a church.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:06 (twenty years ago)

As I said on the previous BB thread, Maxwell will survive pretty much every time against anyone else in the house.

AdrianB (AdrianB), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)

I drew Science in a BB sweepstakes, so vote to keep him in!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:13 (twenty years ago)

(to those that missed it, that was from my favourite Science moment)

Science sees "being African" as a state of mind and claimed he is more "Africa" than Makosi during a conversation in the bedroom.

"You can see it in my eyes," he told Makosi, who grew up in Zimbabwe, "that ancient flame of a place unnamed of a peoples untamed."

"So, how are you more African than me?" Makosi asked.

"The only way you're more African is your ancestors," Science told her. "But my ancestors come from a place that is unlisted, that has been given away," he explained.

"I grew up there," she pointed out.

"Yes, but you are more for global domination on a big scale," Science reasoned.

Makosi asked him if he went to church.

"I am a church!" replied Science

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:15 (twenty years ago)

Kemal's rant against Maxwell when delivering his nominations was very very funny. However, I think I would rather Maxwell stayed than Science as Science is quite odd and Maxwell still makes me laugh. Earlier in the nominations show, Eugene was telling some very dull story about how he interviewed Des Lynam "and I was just standing there looking gormless". Maxwell: "Nah, I can't believe that, mate". Yes, I laughed.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

Makosi nominated Orlaith for using her body to influence people, and for snogging people, as it's the sign of a weak women.

This will be the same Orlaith she snogged herself then.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

Vanessa nominated Eugene for being a dweeb, and she doesn't believe there are people who are nerds when they are grown up.

No-one nominated either Makosi or Vanessa.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 17:59 (twenty years ago)

Science being "quite odd" is a reason for him to go, ailsa?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:01 (twenty years ago)

Science being dead ugly is a good reason but then what fun would a house with Orlaith, Makosi and Derek be?

(Kemal reminds me of Alba and it makes me feel bad)

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

Compared to Maxwell, yes, it is. He's not really a people person, and he's increasingly uncomfortable to watch (and not in an interesting way).

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:40 (twenty years ago)

kemal....alba? oh my!
poor alba. tho i don't see it.
i do love seeing ailsa get so worked up over bb tho.
i wish i was so enthusiastic.. about anything

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:49 (twenty years ago)

No, Science is dead gorgeous!!

x-posts

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

The lack of anything else interesting in my life (read: no football) is making me oddly over-obsessed with Big Brother.

I keep missing all Science's good bits. This may be why I don't like him. He certainly is not gorgeous.

I don't see the Kemal/Alba thing either.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

science is hott. i want him to stay - he's a lot more fun than maxwell!

lilmissy, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:07 (twenty years ago)

MAXWELL A FOOKIN SUTHERN FAIRY ME GRAN FOOKIN NOCK HIM OUT

GARU G, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:11 (twenty years ago)

you have an unnatural obsession with your gran

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:12 (twenty years ago)

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG is my favourite science bit and I never even saw it, myself.

maxwell MUST go, over science. I hate all his "maybe saskia was booed because the public didn't want either of us to go and were booing at the situation rather than at her" and "nobody wanted either of us to leave" assumptions like a dick.

I am frequently surprised by ailsa feelings.

my #1 housemate, that I would like to see leave immediately or sooner, is vanessa. she is terrible.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

I also feel v. sorry for eugene's awkwardness in being constantly and inescapably confronted with crap innuendo. I said that I thought it must be something as bad as his situation in a job, where you have to interact with people you would not chose, to cook and annie and they reminded me that you often get to go home, eventually, from a job.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

I am enjoying the length and content of these posts, RJG.

I'll be amazed if Maxwell goes, but it does seem too soon for Science. I can't believe Craig didn't get more noms.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:24 (twenty years ago)

I even bleed, if pricked.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

No-one nominated either Makosi or Vanessa.

which is why i must now stop watching these stupid, stupid, stupid people.

and makosi nominated orlaith? wow. words fail me.

there are plenty of other things in life about which i can get angry. fuck these people; watching them is too depressing for words.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

I was in spain, on fri, and heard, via cook txt, that saskia had gone and was v. pleased. what I wanted, next, was for maxwell to v. obviously try it on, with one of the other gels, and get v. obviously rejected.

I wonder, if he was up against someone other than science, whether I would want him to stay and stay separated from sask and TV and mags etcs.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:33 (twenty years ago)

But the week that the whole house was up, Max and Saskia were popular with the crowd, and they got to hear that. He's got no real reason to think that that has changed since his "romance", given how popular Helen/Paul, Michelle/Stu were in the past.

I think the problem with BB is that it's full of people who have watched BB and know what people want to watch, what gets on TV, what people vote for. This is not a very clever or particularly insightful comment, but it's the root of the problem for me.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 19:40 (twenty years ago)

What problem?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

the problem that they're all cunts!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

But is that your problem or their's, Grimly?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Obviously I am not watching the series so my visceral reactions are muted. HOWEVER, Makosi seems to be a hardcore player of The Game. She appears to be twisting practically every person in the house around her finger in the most artful way imaginable, to the point where she's completely taken in at least three people (Orlaith, Vanessa, Kemal). She is the Jennifer/Nakomis of this house, only better at hiding it. (Nakmois doomed herself by overtly masterminding a group revolt against the house's most insufferable housemate; such overt take-charge leadership put her squarely on the chopping block once the endgame came around and the women's alliance crumbled.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

If we're talking capslock - REMEMBER SCABGATE.

On one hand I've got myself to blame (Lynskey), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

I want to agree with Dan, and I think that's what Makosi sees herself as, but the pool antics were a HUGE misstep for her - and then the really hypocritical nomination of Orlaith. She may well get to the final stages because so many housemates won't vote for her, but she's lost enough public sympathy to be vulnerable to Kemal or Derek in the end.

It can't be emphasised enough how much Science has to stay and Maxwell GO.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

also why is no one nominating Craig, since the first week only Science has done so. they are FOOLS!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

Makosi 90% sure she is pregnant after one shag! WTF?

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

This is the lamest development yet! Jesus Christ!

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

The "hypocritical" nomination of Orlaith??? That's a brilliant move, IMO. At this stage of the game, you want to pick off the second-most loathsome person in the house; given that Craig is apparently dogshit in human form, no one with their eye on the end game is going to risk him going out of the house anytime soon. Makosi is making a tactical decision here; Maxwell is the one who really needs to go and Orlaith was offered up as a sacrificial lamb, largely because at this stage it's unlikely for her to be nominated, but if she is, that takes out someone who could could beat her for non-game reasons (ie, she is pretty and blonde).

(xpost: Okay, she's trying to play the drama card a little too much now. Expect her to be gone in three weeks.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Although really Makosi should have done Maxwell and Derek this week, now that I think about it.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:37 (twenty years ago)

i'm really not sure makosi is as intelligent as you make out, dan. i think she thinks she's a lot cleverer than she is. either that or she's clinically insane.

seriously: i think she's decided all that secret-mission-to-be-nasty stuff in the first week was fun and larks, and has now decided to base her personality in the house on how she was in week one.

if she genuinely thinks she's pregnant, i'm sorry for her and anthony (although, in fairness, any couple who have unprotected penetrative sex live on TV deserve what they get). if she's doing it to be wacky-and-weird makosi, she can fuck off, because that is a despicable trick.

either way, i don't think it's going to garner her any sympathy inside or outside the house. maxwell will go this week, and she'll be up for nomination - and voted out - next week. oh yes.

[goes to look for the bottle of words sauce, just in case.]

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

I think Makosi just jumped the shark when she asked for a pregnancy test - she's supposed to be a fucking nurse for crying out loud. Not that I'm really watching anymore - it was just on when the TDF finished

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

I didn't know about the pregnancy thing when I was writing above! That kind of shoots my whole theory out of the water with the caveat that I do actually know some extremely bright people who do extravagantly stupid things.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

re: nominating Orlaith - it's incredibly risky, because combined with the pool antics it makes Makosi much more unpopular outside the house. Before, when she single-handedly destroyed Team Twunt, she was a clever arch-manipulator but crucially one whom the viewers could love - she's pushing the outright nasty elements of her persona too far right now. I still hope she wins though.

I'm really not sure what to think of this pregnancy test thing, or even the pool antics in the first place - it seems really unlike her.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

she is a bit of a spacer, think I'm kind of sick of her now, fickle I may be but anyhow.

science too, while still funny, is getting a bit more irritated lately. the house has reverted a bit to the scenario of the first few weeks. with groups less polarised and team twunt disbanded a little it's difficult to know who to like.

craig is still a fucking tosser though! ; )

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 20:59 (twenty years ago)

If people in there are actually playing the game, Craig is going to make it to the final four. There is absolutely no reason that you WOULDN'T want to have him there to increase your odds of winning (this is the Jade Effect).

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

Thanks grimly, that was roughly what I was going to say, had I not been watching Ewan McGregor dicking round the world on a motorbike instead.

Yes, I meant the problem that I can't really like any of them, that there are no natural-seeming people in there any more.

I didn't specify whose problem it was, incidentally, whether it was problem for them, a problem for the viewer.

Can I nominate Alba for eviction from this thread for picking on me and making me feel stupid?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

Ditto Vanessa.
Makosi ("I'm so glad I've got you !") obv wants her to stay as she's no threat vote-wise and is not likely to nom her, and she's just too damn dull for the others to even bother thinking of her when the reasons for noms (whether outright loathing or fear of eventual success) appear in their pitiful wee heeds.

Makosi's dream final four: Makosi, Craig, Vanessa, Kemal/Eugene (select only one)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

given that i think they're all awful, obnoxious twunts (with the exception of eugene, who is a well-meaning but painfully tedious twunt instead), i rather think i'm going to start a campaign for craig to win.

i mean: if, no matter what happens, some utter knob-end is going to win, why not have the biggest knob-end of them all? twisted logic, but it works for me.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

Winning will make Craig's life utterly miserable, so that does make some sort of sense.

"your leg could fall off" Vs. "I want a pregnancy test"

c/n (Cozen), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

sometimes sweeping pronouncements, by people I suspect of not having as "full a picture" (I would probably accept a completely different phrase, here), of all or certain housemates, as I think I do, make me frustrated/a completely different word and then dan perry's posts.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

can you even take a pregnancy test 2 days after you've had the sex? maybe it takes a wee bit longer to show?

"your leg could fall off"

?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 00:12 (twenty years ago)

vanessa is such a hypocritical cunt, about science's selfishness, in tasks/whatever.

she has done too many and too few things--she is the most urgently necessary eviction and had 0 nominations this week!

crosspost

makosi's professional opinion about vanessa's sprained or whatever ankle was that her leg could fall off. she prefixed it with "I don't want to scare you but...", I think.

a wee bit longer, hee-hee!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 00:15 (twenty years ago)

This week, Vanessa was the only housemate not to receive a single nomination. Fucking fucking fuck fuck idiots. Though at least they're all clever enough to vote out contestants that might be a threat to them.

-- The Ghost of Dan Perry (djperr...) (webmail), July 5th, 2005 10:16 PM. (link)

Yep, this will happen, unless daftness occurs. Not eugene though.

The preg. thing.. Isn't this straying somewhat into patient confidentiality? Granted the part in the lookout was 'fair game' but the 'I'd like a test' in the diary room? Suppose she actually asks for a morning after pill, wouldn't that be wayyyyy off limits?

In any case, now we've come this far, they'd better settle it one way or the other.

90% chance ?

I mean... "?"

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 06:55 (twenty years ago)

Housemates know that anything they say to BB might be used in the show. It would be different if she'd actually asked to see a doctor.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 08:32 (twenty years ago)

exactly jed. as far as i know, even the earliest indication pregnancy tests don't work until a week before your missed period. and how anyone can 'know' they're preggers two days after the dirty deed is beyond me. emergency contraception is maybe what she's after instead. d'oh, nursey.
also, it's pretty difficult to get it on properly in a hot tub, at least to the point of conception... er... so i hear.
oh look, yes it is: "While the idea of underwater lovemaking may rev your engines, water can be detrimental to conception because it washes away vaginal mucus, which helps sperm get to the egg. The chlorine found in most pool water is an added deterrent, since it can alter vaginal chemistry and kill sperm."

dahlin (dahlin), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 08:42 (twenty years ago)

as far as i know, even the earliest indication pregnancy tests don't work until a week before your missed period.

i think the really modern ones can pick up indicators sooner, but no-one even asked where she was in her cycle etc. it's bullshit.

N_RQ, Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:07 (twenty years ago)

Hold on the last I heard Anthony just used his, er, FINGER?! If this is the case and Makosi thinks she might be pregnant then she is totally Vicky Pollard.

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:07 (twenty years ago)

Makosi's not that bright and has got carried away with her own dramatics, yes? She's on such a huge ego wave she thinks she's the star of the soap right now.

Taste the Blood of Scrovula (noodle vague), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:11 (twenty years ago)

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

This thread has hit rock bottom!!

To be honest I doubt Makosi thinks she is pregnant but thinks it might be funny to play along with it, or perhaps I am just hoping this desperately. Or perhaps it did "slip in by accident". EWW.

They deserve it ALL for that behaviour.

I wish Craig would stop massaging Maxwell.

AND AS FOR CRAIG'S SEXUAL FANTASY about Maxwell and Saskia!

OH MY GUTS.

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:18 (twenty years ago)

what was that?

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:23 (twenty years ago)

He spoke very slowly and breathily to Maxwell about Saskia blindfolding him and making Maxwell his slave for the day. It was toe-curlingly repulsive to watch Craig's face and hear those words. Maxwell was hidden under a duvet but no JERKING motions were witnessed thank the little baby jesus.

As Craig finished, Maxwell said "Thanks Craig, that was off the hook", or something.

What does "OFF THE HOOK" actually MEAN?

IT MEANS NOTHING!!!

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 09:30 (twenty years ago)

Sarah I hope and pray you dreamed that rather than it happening on a television screen in human reality.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 10:42 (twenty years ago)

re: nominating Orlaith - it's incredibly risky, because combined with the pool antics it makes Makosi much more unpopular outside the house. Before, when she single-handedly destroyed Team Twunt, she was a clever arch-manipulator but crucially one whom the viewers could love - she's pushing the outright nasty elements of her persona too far right now. I still hope she wins though.

I would imagine that the only reason Makosi has nominated Orlaith is because she is jealous of her getting it on with Anthony.

I cannot believe that Craig didn't get more nominations. Science must stay, Maxwell must go!

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 11:55 (twenty years ago)

maybe it is in fact Prince himself, playing the character 'Kemal'

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

I agree with Pinky and say Makosi nominated Orlaith for one reason, and one reason only – Anthony. She’s hugely jealous that Anthony wants Orlaith as much as herself [cf: Makosi’s rictus grin in the pool when Ant was mauling Orlaith]. She’s just not smart or objective enough to think of The Game, I doubt anyone in there is, bar Derek perhaps.

I hope beyond hope that Makosi weaves this (almost certainly baseless) pregnancy nonsense into a tapestry of undisputed truth, and takes little Ant to a quiet place to announce “Anthony. I’m pregnant. And it’s YOURS.” The expression on his face will be worthy of being printed on a thousand t-shirts.

Vanessa spoke in the oddest way when responding to Makosi’s ‘pregnancy’, like her mouth was overflowing with mucus and making her twitch and tic like an broken fraggle. She’s probably the worst person in the world today.

I think Eugene is the only genuinely decent housemate. True, he’d bug and bore the crap out of me but he really doesn’t seem to have a hateful bone in his body. The way BB intersperse his anecdotes with clips of his conversation partner looking bored/confused/for an escape route is the best thing about BB recently.

(oh and, a song on the new Robyn album uses the term ‘off the hook’)

"I think the key to the lass you're gonna marry or the bloke you're gonna marry, is ticking all the boxes of what you want in a person," added Anthony.

Derek pointed out that as easy as it is to fall in love, it is just as easy to fall out of love. "I find it such a difficult human issue," he said.

Anthony, currently single, revealed: "I've only been in love once so I've nothing to really compare it to."

When asked to describe the lady in question, he paused before answering: "Real nice lass, really kind. Tanned, jet black hair, big boobs."

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 12:45 (twenty years ago)

Maxwell IS the 'Great British Public'. Enough women think he is fit, enough men agree/identify with his boorish demeanour

painfully OTM

i fear he also functions as some kind of suppressed wish-fulfillment/fantasy of some 'no-bullshit' or 'salt-of-the-earth' caricature/archetype of 'working class' : showing many who do actually know better (but sometimes wish they didn't) how much more 'authentic' and 'fun' life could be if only oh if only they didn't take so seriously all those pesky complexities of personal politics and social compromise that make them have to control themselves and worry about what they find funny
(standard lad-mag rusted irony i suppose ?)

and even if the BB voting demographic matches the assumption(?) of having a large gay element - i find it difficult to see why they would vote to keep either of them in: this particular 'science' does not seem much of a product of the enlightenment

I remember asking what that meant last year and I've forgotten already, but if it means that Makosi thinks it's all about her when really it's about Derek then YES YES YES. Although it might really be about Kemal secretly.

Oddly just two weeks ago, Maxkia = Buffy and Makosi = Xander.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:02 (twenty years ago)

I think the metaphor falls down a little, as it was all about Willow in the end. Although that ties up well with Maxkia/Makosi/Derek.

So - Buffy - the one everyone thinks its about
Xander - the one who sneaks up from behind and who its really all about for a bit
Willow - the one its actually about when its all over.

I presume they've checked on any of the housemates' family/friends who might have been in London...

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 7 July 2005 19:08 (twenty years ago)

i don't think that there's any reason to tell them unless anyone has family or friends directly affected.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 7 July 2005 19:11 (twenty years ago)

that's what dermot said. i told my coworkers, at about 1030am, that if they told the housemates, the terrorists would have already won. they were not impressed.

n_RQ, Thursday, 7 July 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

They did say that they checked on family and friends for all the housemates, and none were in any way involved, and only then decided not to tell them right now.

The editing seemed quite pro-Sciencey tonight, which was nice to see.

Craig's shaving everyone's heads!

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:29 (twenty years ago)

I thought his berating of Maxwell over throwing Shitty Water the night before, and the subsequent melodramatic staredown that closed the show, put him in quite a good light too.

Michael Philip Philip Philip Avoidant (Ferg), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:31 (twenty years ago)

Three giggling girls came to the Dairy Room to thank Big Brother for two bottles of wine, a reward for Makosi's lawn mowing.

ihttp://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=1034

veeeery wierd that they didn't mention the lawn mowing being a task on the show tonight.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:40 (twenty years ago)

I thought Makosi's "Who's going on Friday? It's not rocket Science!" was very good, 8/10.

Maxwell was favourite for eviction for a while but now Science is strongly favourite again - at the bookies I mean

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 8 July 2005 09:26 (twenty years ago)

i think Anthony is great just because he said to Eugene the phrase 'cool and the gang', when he had failed his secret task

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 8 July 2005 09:28 (twenty years ago)

but the 'how are you voting' polls are 58% Maxwell...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 July 2005 09:30 (twenty years ago)

I have done my bit and voted for Maxwell several times. HAVE YOU?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 8 July 2005 09:32 (twenty years ago)

I trust bookies more than I trust any poll

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 8 July 2005 09:33 (twenty years ago)

The bookies haven't got a clue at the moment, the prices are all over the gaff. They're just about ready to go to 5/6 across, which I'd say is fair. It all depends on what the editing is like tonight really.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 8 July 2005 10:37 (twenty years ago)

If we have to rely on the editing then Science is History

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 8 July 2005 10:38 (twenty years ago)

Put it this way. I'm fairly certain I'll be hearing the b-side to "Little Red Rooster" tonight...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 July 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

whatever that means.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 8 July 2005 11:14 (twenty years ago)

It's off the hook.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 8 July 2005 11:25 (twenty years ago)

The housemates have got paranoid about Science and Maxwell not getting 'intense' about tonight and getting on with each other for the first time. Now they think that the two are on a secret mission to evict 'anyone else' from the house...

And Orlaith begged that he tell her the truth so she could be prepared with her eviction outfit if necessary.

"You get f***in' dressed up to have a shower, Orlaith. So I'm sure you'll be fine," said Maxwell, not entirely reassuringly, but tiring of having to deny he's on a mission.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 July 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

.. although I have noticed that Orla definitely does not get dressd up for a shower.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 July 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is getting too much. First claiming to be pregnant, now saying she is leaving tonight. She constantly craves attention in the hope that she will prove herself "worthy" of winning, and it seems to be working (shes been 3/1 fave or 7/2 2nd fave for weeks).

I'd love her to be up for eviction next week, and when Davina calls her name out as a possible evictee the crowd keep a deathly silence. Fuck her right up.

Anthony's beard is somewhat to the right of his face.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 8 July 2005 22:56 (twenty years ago)

Anthony (re Maxwell) (sadly): He was the only one who found me funny.
Derek: Well, you'll just have to try harder then, won't you?

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 8 July 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

Statergy thoughts:

if Anthony/Craig/Eugene/Science do form an alliance of convenience to counter Makosi/Orlaith/Kemal/Vanessa, then Derek becomes the most powerful player in the house by default.

Makosi was relying on Science going and playing off that divide for another few weeks to protect herself. She's now in the firing line (should pick up two, maybe three votes this week), but she's not going to get struck for a few days.

Orlaith is critical at the moment: her bonds aren't strong enough and she's not connected with the general public at all. I'd slip a fiver on that now.

Craig's days are numbered as well, he'll be gone within three weeks. Vanessa will last far too long. Expect Science to go when he finally comes up against Derek as well.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 8 July 2005 23:00 (twenty years ago)

that was funny and rather nice of derek. he said it in a nice cheeky way to cheer up Anthony. Anth's new haircut exaggerates his lack of forehead and makes him look like a gormless monkey.

Vanessa will stay because Makosi and Kemal need her to be in harmless opposition in the final week. She is destined to stay til then I'm afraid, unless the others somehow all decide to nominate her simulataneously - she'd never survive a public vote.

Some of the old housemates have been busy:

Former Big Brother star Alex Sibley is to stand trial after a road accident in which a 63-year-old father-of-three was killed, it emerged today.

Former male model Sibley, 25, who was a contestant in Big Brother 3 in 2002, has pleaded not guilty to a careless driving charge brought in the wake of the fatal accident last November.

It is alleged that Sibley was driving his silver BMW 528 when he hit pedestrian Kurt Lange who was crossing a road in Romford, Essex, to get to his car after visiting his mother-in-law.

It is believed at the time of the fatal collision Sibley was driving to Hackney in east London to meet his girlfriend Melanie Hill who starred in the first series of Big Brother.

An inquest into Mr Lange's death last month heard Sibley told police he did not see butcher Mr Lange crossing the street at the time and simply heard a bang.

Sibley said he was sorry, but claimed there was nothing he could do to avoid the tragic accident.

The inquest held at Walthamstow, east London, ruled Mr Lange's death was "accidental."

Sibley, who lives in Parkstone Avenue, Hornchurch, Essex, with his parents, did not attend a brief pre-trial review hearing at Redbridge Magistrates Court in east London today.

The case was adjourned until the trial which is scheduled to take place at Barking Magistrates Court in east London in November

I take back nearly everything nice I have said in defence of Maxwell. He is a twunt.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 10 July 2005 12:18 (twenty years ago)

Craig has gone mental over the weekend. First off, checking whether Anthony was "pure English" because there were "an awful lot of foreigners in the house" (Craig claims both is Mum and Dad are "5 times English"), and then asking him whether, if he was a girl, Anthony would pick him as a girlfriend and whether he'd make a good one. Oh, and insisting he was far better looking than Roberto, and going in the huff when Anthony didn't agree.

In other news, apparently Makosi has been sacked from her job (which presumably puts her visa in jeopardy).

There are "two lies" by Big Brother this week. "Optional" nominations were from 6-9 this morning. What's the betting that the first lie is that noms weren't actually optional and the second is that there was only one lie?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 11 July 2005 08:12 (twenty years ago)

Craig, wearing a Science T-shirt and a glum expression, popping a champagne cork, and the champagne fizzing out onto the floor, was my favourite moment of BB so far this year. It was one of those serendipitous camera-in-exactly-the-right-place moments, like Marco puking on the roundabout last year. Beautiful.

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 11 July 2005 08:45 (twenty years ago)

yes, puke close ups are beautiful aren't they?

dahlin (dahlin), Monday, 11 July 2005 08:53 (twenty years ago)

Did Derek really just say "I'm working like a black, which is not what I came in here for"?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 11 July 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

He sure did! He's so ironic and hilarious. Meanwhile Orlaith looks more and more like a very thin woman who's had bowling balls inserted into her chest. And Science is going to be the first housemate ever to be murdered in his sleep.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 11 July 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

he did, yes. My jaw dropped.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 11 July 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

And the nominations were not optional. Lie #1. Anyone what did not nominate is now up.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 11 July 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Science is going to be the first housemate ever to be murdered in his sleep.

I think that might be Anthony if he doesn't just give up and have sex with Craig before long. Or buried up to his head in the garden, with only a snorkel to breathe through. Craig fondling himself on the sofa... ewww ewww ewww!

Big Brother has played this exactly right. Makosi, being Makosi, won't nominate. Therefore neither will Vanessa. Therefore Vanessa will be evicted with 98% of the public vote.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 11 July 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

"I really thought you was talking about snooker that time."

Was Craig really wanking himself off when he was asking Anthony how gay he was?

Both Vanessa and Derek badly edited against tonight, I think.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 11 July 2005 21:10 (twenty years ago)

Channel 4 have already decided they want Kemal to win this, I think.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 11 July 2005 21:15 (twenty years ago)

Is it just me or are Craig and Anthony looking increasingly simian?

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 11 July 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

Tonight's psychologist was the first time in ages, and the monkey comparisons he made were eerily prescient of that comment.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 11 July 2005 21:50 (twenty years ago)

You now, this'll be one of those situations where the strong housemates kill each other off, and the winner will be the one less involved.

i.e. Eugene will win.

actually, that might explain it - had the tv on on sunday afternoon and there was lots of screaming and excitement, probably the water fight that was shown on ch4 last night. only the camera was resolutely focusing on inanimate objects.

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 08:11 (twenty years ago)

they don't actually move, do they?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 08:13 (twenty years ago)

I think there are only 3 or 4 people in the house who could win, and we should have seen it from the start. The previous winners have been a white man (Craig), a white women (Kate), a homosexual (Brian), a virgin (Cameron) and a transexual (Nadia) and on winning they have obviously been proved to be widely accepted by society. Thats why this year i think Big Brother will lean towards a black winner. At first i thought they were doing everything they could to show Makosi in a good light, as Derek, Vanessa and Science were doing themselves no favours in the first few weeks and were vastly unpopular with the public. But since then clever editing has contributed to Science beating bookies favourite Maxwell and Derek surviving against Roberto and Sam.

Most of the other housemates are similar to past winners and for this reason also i cant imagine Big Brother wanting them to win. (Anthony = BB1's Craig, Orlaith = Kate, Kemal = Nadia)

I think we can still right off waste of space Vanessa, and i dont think Science can do enough to win it, so it looks like this is pretty much a two horse race between Makosi and Derek. However, the spanner in the works may be Eugene who is gaining a cult following and could be difficult to unfavourably edit.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 08:33 (twenty years ago)

surely 'favourably'

N_RQ (Enrique), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 08:35 (twenty years ago)

Is it just me or do the men on BB spend more time with their hands down their pants than most normal men do?

Raston Warrior Robot (alix), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:25 (twenty years ago)

In what way is Kemal a transsexual!!? Just cos he likes queening about doesn't mean he's suffering from gender dysphoria!

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

Don't write off Anthony. He's now a poster boy in Smash Hits magazine (signed poster of him in this weeks) so the girls may well be voting to protect him, when the time comes.

Makosi's been favourite for so long, the 'rules' state that she'll be out soon.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

i'm beginning to hate Makosi quite a bit. i agree with Mattt DC - i think the producers have decided on Kemal now.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:31 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is a psycho, she has become extremely annoying.

x-post yeah Jed, the tide is turning for Makosi I feel.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:38 (twenty years ago)

in the same way craig cermented his everyman/working class hero image by foiling nasty nick in bb1, if anthony can find someone percieved as evil by the gbp to work against i think he could potentially win it. i'm not sure he's got enough balls though to be honest (though i'm sure craig thinks otherwise!)

lazy line painter janet, Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:39 (twenty years ago)

even though maxwell was touted as the 'everyman' of the show, i think he was a bit too london for most of the gbp to get on with.

lazy line painter janet, Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:40 (twenty years ago)

i was actually on the verge of tears during the video messages the other night which was quite embarrassing. it wasn't so much the messages but the fact that Derek was crying during kemal's message - partly because of the sentiment, i guess, and partly because of his own message being from 3 old ladies (!). when kemal was crying at the side of the bed that seemed very genuine: the sore of shame that comes from really letting rip made him want to hide to do it. gulp.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 10:54 (twenty years ago)

What were the video messages about? I haven't seen this all week sorry.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

messages from hom to all housemates - most were from mums and dads but makosi is upset because hers was from her cousins leading here to think her family has disowned her and Derek's was from three old ladies from the (?) conservative club.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 11:11 (twenty years ago)

craig's and kemal's parents going out of their way to say how much they supported *everything* that they were doing in the house and that their love was unconditional (ie 'we don't mind if you're gay')

vanessa's family snuck in a little hint by saying that she should do more and stop being so dull.

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 11:13 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, Craig and Kemal turning out to be gay must have been an enormous shock to their families.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 11:16 (twenty years ago)

yeah, you'd think. but craig's dad seemed to think his lad was one of the boys when they interviewed him on bblb that once. and both craig and kemal seemed to think their parents didn't know.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

Right, I'll try to say it from memory...

Science and Orlaith are doing synchronised swimming

Kemal is poorly, so is doing the commentary from the lookout

Ant and Craig are doing the same thing, I forget what

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

here we go from Digital Spy...

Science obliged and entered the room to find two jars labelled ‘Housemates’ and ‘Events,’ and the housemates watched Science on the plasma screen as he engaged in a lucky dip from the balls in the jars with the following results. Both Makosi and Derek are to have a go at rhythmic gymnastics, Craig and Anthony are show their cycling skills, Orlaith will have a shot at synchronised swimming and Vanessa on the trampoline.

Science then emerged from the Diary Room bearing instructions. The games will take place tomorrow after commentator Kemal has given a rendition of the national anthem, with 90 second synchronised routines being prepared for each event apart from cycling, which should consist of 20 laps.

Vanessa for one is unhappy with her allotted task, insisting that she can’t possibly use the trampoline with her ankle, although Big Brother’s instructions stated that there is to be no swapping.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:40 (twenty years ago)

Oh, and earlier they were debating what showbiz career each would have when they get out. Vanessa and Orlaith both reckoned they'd have 'pink shopping channels', and everyone said Science would host a chicken cooking channel, much to his annoyance "I can cook more than that!"

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if anyone of them will figure out that we've won the Olympics from this task. (ans: clearly no)

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:43 (twenty years ago)

i thought Eugene already figured this out?

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:44 (twenty years ago)

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Anyhow, for true:

Science and Orlaith had a disag about what music to syncroswim to, Science wanting "Drop it like it's hot" but no. They are using "You're beautiful" by some blokey.

Derek chose "I will survive" and Makosi said "fine, I've never heared of it, but OK"

Drum roll... The nominations are;- Anthony and Craig and Kemal!!!!!!!!!!

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

This is the second fib.. (Those are what they told the housemates)

What it is:

Everyone is up, and the two with the most votes are told to the housemates on friday, who then have to choose one to go.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

Orlaith will have a shot at synchronised swimming

On her own? I'd suggest calling it unsynchronised swimming, but I think I remember Sinkah using that term for his proposed jazz olympics, so I don't want to pinch it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 15:57 (twenty years ago)

I hope Kemal goes.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

When I saw on DS that the lie was that the six HM's that didn't vote would be up for eviction after all, I assumed that this might have been Endemol's way of ensuring that Vanessa gets the boot - by waiting to see whether she nominated and then deciding which group the ultimate evictee would come from.

Well obv Vanessa will sweep the public vote, but who to join her in the HM's choice ? If, as is likely, it's Orlaith, then no question about it, Orlaith is toast and Vanessa somehow lives on - Makosi, Derek and Kemal would ensure Miss Charisma's stay, wouldn't they ?

darren (darren), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 17:24 (twenty years ago)

Craig and Anthony are going a long way in this. Now their monstrous leaders are out of the way everyone's kind of ignoring them and starting to stab each other in the back.

Kemal is going mental re: Makosi.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

Right, all except the ones that did nom are up.

The public will choose, basically, Science amd one other. And the housemates will vote against Science.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 07:23 (twenty years ago)

Right, all except the ones that did nom are up.

o god, i haven't been following this at all. i was in the pub. er: who exactly is up, and who isn't? and what happens on friday?

sorry.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 07:38 (twenty years ago)

up: Vanessa, Makosi, Eugene, Derek, Science, Orlaith.
not: Craig, Anthony, Kemal.

fib one: Nominations were optional
truth: Not optional, anyone not nominating would be up for eviction.

fib two: BB switched the up and not list when telling the housemates.

Friday: The two housemates with the most votes will be told to the housemates, who will have to choose one to go.

Basicall, Science is grass, but he doesn't know it.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 07:58 (twenty years ago)

come on GBP, vanessa and orlaith!

N_RQ, Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:01 (twenty years ago)

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:03 (twenty years ago)

Makosi and Vanessa.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:10 (twenty years ago)

thank you, mark: much appreciated.

N_RQ: no, not vanessa and orlaith! the HMs will keep vanessa. vanessa and ... well, how about nobody votes for anyone except vanessa, meaning she just has to go?

i can dream.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:11 (twenty years ago)

Betting: (Most likely to lest likely, according to paddypower)
Vanessa 13 - 8
Orlaith 9 - 4
Science 4 - 1
Makosi 13 - 2
Derek 9 - 1
Eugene 12 - 1

The anti-votes:

Science would be voted out by:
Orlaith, Makosi and Vanessa, Kemal definitely (i.e. no matter who was against), Craig/Ant possibly

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:19 (twenty years ago)

I think I still don't quite understand.

Is there a way Craig can diebe voted out as a result of this? Please?

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:41 (twenty years ago)

Alex, I'm afraid it's hopeless. There is no way of getting Craig out this week. I'm sorry. We did everything we could.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

This thread is going to be blummin lomg, if Craig stays to the end.

blummin long, even.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:19 (twenty years ago)

I can see Makosi going this week, particularly if the vote is private.

Craig, Anthony and Kemal (he nominated her) would definitely pick her, and if she was up against Vanessa I could see Orlaith and Derek voting for her as well to keep the weaker contestant in.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:53 (twenty years ago)

Well, that's exactly it.

And, at 6 and a half to one odds, might be worth a spare change bet.

(I'm turning into McCririck, arent i?)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:57 (twenty years ago)

I want Craig to stay in now! The BB editing staff are having so much fun with him right now.

Taking sides - Anthony spurting suncream over Craig's face vs Craig leering at Anthony's bare arse while gripping some carrots suggestively.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:59 (twenty years ago)

It's turning into it's own slash fiction!

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 10:03 (twenty years ago)

An intersting thought...

Whoever comes in the the top two on Friday but survives will know they are unpopular with the GBP.

Does this make them likely to walk? Or a nomination target for the others the following week?

BB will have to play it very carefully, and maybe make the choosing as ambiguous as possible. That way they could call all the HMs in without arousing suspicion - they would just get a question/choice with no context. Either that or have all but the two up do it at some point during the day so as not make it obvious?

This could be brilliant, but it could just as easily backfire spectacularly.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

Does this make them likely to walk?

that or they could just stop being dull/annoying/2faced/argumentative to win back public favour?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

This happened with Jade Goody, and the housemate she 'won' against.

She went on to be third, or something like...

you're such a strategist aldo... have you been cashing in on this?

No. Which is kind of stupid.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

Yeah but Channel Four did everything in their power to keep Jade in because they realised how much mileage there was in her. Including changing the eviction rules every single week.

Not as bad as everything Eugene ever says.

"I looked up gormless in the dictionary. It said it was lack of gorm. So I looked up gorm but it wasn't there."

He's like a bad observational comedian. Without even having charm or style to disguise the inanity of his ramblings.

There are large posters of him up all over Glasgow, advertising his employers (Beat 1O6)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is taking the piss so much about this pregnancy shit. Or else she really thinks people are believing her.

"I always wanted to be like Posh and conceive a baby in Paris called Paris, or in Madrid called Madrid, I don't know what I can call this baby" (slight paraphrasing as I wasn't really concentrating)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is out this week surely. Isnt she supposed to be a nurse?

dmun drive-in (dmun), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

Makosi "You are going to find a lot out about me when I get out of her, and find out why I spend ten hours a day in the diary room"

What *is* she on about? She can't be a plant or anything, and I really don't think she's clever enough to try and convince people she is (if this is her plan, she's ruining it by annoying the public with this pregnancy nonsense, isn't she?)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Have any other housemates in the history of Big Brother spent as much time talking about each other as this lot? It's all they appear to do ALL DAY AND NIGHT LONG. It's so fucking boring and I loathe them all.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 21:11 (twenty years ago)

Local radio (and former Eugene employers) idea of "fun"

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 21:15 (twenty years ago)

Of course it's called the Eugenius campaign.

Is it now time to expose the local radio/Eugene connections of another ilx poster, I wonder?

Makosi must go.

Also Penelope OTM: is there a more boring conversation in the offline world than Big Brother housemates arguing over who is "fake" or not?

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 22:58 (twenty years ago)

Bookies have Vanessa as the favourite, but I remain unconvinced. It's harder to bet on this as the final decision is by the house and not the GBP, whereas I think they're relying on GBP opinions. I still think, if she's one of the last two, that Makosi will go this week.

After the highlights show I caught BBLB and it had even more footage of Kemal singing. I can't describe why you all need to watch the highlights show tonight if you know how it's supposed to sound.

I couldn't resist looking at the results of the Olympic task. I think this could be the best highlights show yet.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 14 July 2005 07:18 (twenty years ago)

She seems quite sure she's having a girl called "Big Brother Jacuzzi"

Actualy, Jacuzzi would be a girl's name, right?

(I had not much sleep last night)

I saw a fair bit of the live relay last night (2:00 am onwards)

Science said Eugene was cool, generally getting on with Craig and Ant
Makosi and Kemal made up once again, kiss goodnight, etc.

Craig was very "ok, who's the funniest one here now anthony... Really?? ooh"

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 07:44 (twenty years ago)

N_RQ, Thursday, 14 July 2005 08:06 (twenty years ago)

Craig makes his bid for rapiest housemate evah:

Constant Companion
Day 49, 01:30

After a few beverages, Craig just couldn't leave Anthony alone. Eventually they fell asleep in the Living area but Craig carried on his incessant chatting, sleep talking about err, balls.

Despite Anthony turning down Craig's requests to sit next to him and share a bed with him, he remained patient and let a tactile Craig hug him.

In a discussion with Craig and Science, Anthony talked about sharing a bed with friends to save money. Craig quickly asked, "Would you sleep in a bed with me?"

"Let's not get in to it," Anthony replied politely, but Craig wouldn't leave it. "So what do you think I am going to do, rape you?" He pestered, before whining, "Maxwell let me (share a bed)."

Ever the diplomat, Anthony replied, "If there weren't enough beds yeah, but there are enough and I like to spread myself out."

Later outside the Diary Room Craig asked, "Ohh Anthony, can I have a hug?"

With Craig draped over him Anthony said, "You're normal now, you turn mad when you've had a drink."

"It's only around you I do, " Craig defended. "Oh Anthony, why do you send me insane? Do you do it on purpose?" Anthony didn't reply.

Helpless in the face of ball-touchersWorn out after giving Anthony so much attention, Craig fell asleep on the sofa. Anthony slept too, end to end with Craig with their legs touching.

While Craig slept with one hand down his trousers and an attractive line of drool running down his chin he mumbled, "So if you touch my balls, so what can you do?"

Obviously Craig was dreaming about tennis, right?

I think we need to keep him and Anthony in for a few weeks, the hobbit will end up lamping him.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:36 (twenty years ago)

He is so totally normal compared with the other freaks in that house.

He is NOT. If anyone in my circle talked like him he would be avoided like the plague. Just because he's the closest thing to a character from the Office they've got doesn't make him right. That kind of constant trying to be funny, failing miserably, going on too long and trailing off into a giggle that sounds like a hiccup can grate almost as much as Science's endless gabbling. Bah.

It's muggy and I'm grumpy.

One of my favourite conversations in this year's BB was Anthony telling Craig what a nightmare boyfriend he'd be. "Nag nag nag!"

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:36 (twenty years ago)

Not like me on the interweb, oh no.

I'm surprised at how long the odds on Orlaith going this week are. If she's one of the two up for eviction by the housemates' vote, then I think she's toast. No one likes her in there, and it's probably only Anthony who has any interest in keeping her for her nudity.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:38 (twenty years ago)

Is Makosi really that unpopular with the public that it'll be her up with Vanessa? I hear people slaggin off Orlaith more.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:50 (twenty years ago)

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

People are stupid. Orlaith contributes nothing.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:05 (twenty years ago)

Oh god, please let it be Mak v Van - then we can FINALLY be rid of Vanezzzza. We'll never be rid of her otherwise. NEVER.

I don't get this stupid love for Eugene. He's completely rubbish and Not. Funny. At. All. Intentionally or otherwise.

dm, Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:08 (twenty years ago)

As others have said, the chances of Vanessa going in a vote against Makosi in the house are pretty slim. She'll be gone as soon as there's a week in which the normal nomination process puts her up before the public though.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

Wha????

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

Wha wha??

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

Wha diddly wha wha
Wha diddly wha wha

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

I would not be suprised if eugene wasn't border line autistic or at least aspergic (sp?). Has this been discussed?

Nush, Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

What - just cause he's a bit nerdy? I think the diagnosis of Asperger's is thrown about a bit freely these days. Eugene seems to be able to pick up on social cues etc. well enough.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

I don't think Science is as much of a write off as some think. He's rather Bez-like and Bez can't have won Celeb BB just on the back of aging ravers and the Manchester bloc vote.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:01 (twenty years ago)

Eastern Bloc vote.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

Bloc Party vote.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:09 (twenty years ago)

Science is a good dark horse to be on, my feeling is that this week's process eviction process is bad for him in the long run. His best bet was to be put up for eviction with a stream of lame horses (Craig, Vanessa, Orlaith) so eventually people started to put some cognitive dissonance as in "I voted for him, I must like him". This week will throw out 1 no-hoper, which may mean that he has to go up against Anthony or Kemal a bit soon.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:09 (twenty years ago)

I dont see anyone stopping Anthony now!

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:17 (twenty years ago)

as in "I voted for him, I must like him"

At this stage, people are voting against people, not for them, so I don't think this really works, except for maybe when it's just two people up.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

Science is actually quite boring most of the time, I think. Yesterday's commentary being an exception.

PREDICTION - The first lie was that Big Brother will tell two lies this week. The third lie will be that the housemates are voting for who they want to save, rather than who they want to evict. That would be k-classic.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

Matt, you are an evil genius. Send that to Endemol in case they haven't thought of it and their plan all goes wrong.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

grimly, I don't think you are really right now in a position to be bringing up ILXors' past connections with minor celebs, given other revelations from that same night in the pub, are you?

(xpost back to 9.22am)

Shit, we're back to Kemal singing Flower of Scotland again. Thankfully Marcus Bentley is talking over him.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

Crikey, that was some bad singing. Possibly even worse than mine.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

And as stated above, we need a catacylsmic event to start a new thread. Maybe start a new one for the eviction show tomorrow?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Makosi and Derek really have no rhythm or sense of timing at all, do they?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

Kemal "shake it like it's hot, oh, I mean drop it. Drop it like it's hot. Shake it like..., er, ..."

Kemal in "only person in the world not to have heard Hey Ya shockah!"

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

Craig and Anthony are the best thing about this now by a fucking mile. And yet I still don't want either of them to win.

I actually can't believe how stupid all the housemates bar Science actually are. Have they forgotten this whole two lies thing already? What exactly are they expecting to happen?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:32 (twenty years ago)

"Shut ya noise!"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

"What other types of music do you like other than classic disco?"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Taking Sides. Alan Partridge's "Classic Queen" vs Eugenes "Classic Disco"

dmun drive-in (dmun), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)

Eugene is a bit like how I think I come across to people. Except I still have friends, so I can't be that bad. You know that way you say something and you think it's really good and then the tumbleweeds appear? He's that. All the time.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Oh dear, Orlaiths going off on one with a stern voice.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

I actually can't believe how stupid all the housemates bar Science actually are.

huh? what about kemal and derek? even orlaith and eugene are less stupid than science.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

she sure is spiritual, that makosi

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is utterly vile.

AdrianB (AdrianB), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Orlaith "you have to remember you are playing a game"

THAT'S ALL THEY BLOODY TALK ABOUT!!! THEY KNOW!!!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

For fuck sake!! Kemal nominated, big deal. Thats part of the process, you vote people out so you stay til the end. Fuck, give him a break, and give Vanessa a slap.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:44 (twenty years ago)

This anti-Orlaith bitching will backfire. Vanessa and Makosi up tomorrow?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

Makosi and Vanessa need to fuck right off NOW!

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

Also Science is still a cunt, even if he did look much better up against Maxwell. He was one step away from calling Kemal a fucking homo earlier today.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

He called him a ho?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

You know that way you say something and you think it's really good and then the tumbleweeds appear?

This, from the woman who said "I can't believe you remember what I post."

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 14 July 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

Hahaha, I've turned into a BB contestant, totally concerned about how I appear to the outside world on a medium where I am up for scrutiny at all times. I AM RUBBISH! Kill me now!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 21:50 (twenty years ago)

(before aldo quotes me on that next time he comes to Glasgow)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 21:55 (twenty years ago)

He was one step away from calling Kemal a fucking homo earlier today.

Interesting then that he probably won't (and hasn't thus far) attract the same amount of ire from people as Maxkia did for their comments or allusions. Granted he IS more likeable than Maxkia generally, but still.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Thursday, 14 July 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Oh dear God, Craig thought he was the best dressed person on Big Brother.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 14 July 2005 22:00 (twenty years ago)

I also know I have a tendancy to appear Eugeneish to people.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 15 July 2005 06:18 (twenty years ago)

This thread should be called "come anticip Vanessa's eviction"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 07:15 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe we have no TV on this week of all weeks!!! Actually to be fair the woman booking our tele in for its repair thought we were crazy not to ask for a replacement. Why oh why oh why. Anyway, Anthony to beat Craig to death with a flip-flop, and Orlaith to be evicted PLEASE!!!

alext (alext), Friday, 15 July 2005 07:20 (twenty years ago)

"One of the lies could be there are more than just two lies," Kemal excitedly suggested and Science agreed as it all got a bit complicated.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 07:22 (twenty years ago)

Eugene is a bit like how I think I come across to people.

?!

trust me, this isn't true at all.

given other revelations from that same night in the pub, are you?

bugger.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 15 July 2005 08:05 (twenty years ago)

Makosi and Vanessa need to fuck right off NOW!

I read that twice before I spotted "off".

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 15 July 2005 08:50 (twenty years ago)

From DS:

Big Brother have sent a message to the housemates this morning.

The words 'There Is A Mole In The House' have been scrawled in lipstick on a garden mirror near the lounge area. The housemates, however, are oblivious to it's existence and continue to walk past it.

Hmm. Well we already know what the two lies are, don't we? Which implies this is true. So which one? Derek? Makosi? Or have they just hidden a cuddly mole behind the sofa or something?

JimD (JimD), Friday, 15 July 2005 09:47 (twenty years ago)

Jim, I think you have got it. (Cuddly mole, that is!)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 09:55 (twenty years ago)

The housemates, however, are oblivious

how the producers refrain from zooming in there and punching them all repeatedly is a source of constant amazement to me.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 15 July 2005 09:56 (twenty years ago)

Makosi is toast manifest, she doesn't know it yet though.

Vanessa will most probably go this week as in tests most housemates like her less than Makosi. But, noms next week, assuming normality, will have her up against anyone, and I think we can assume all the people who rang in to evict Vanessa will ringintoevict Makosi next week.

Ah, I think we have our new thread title...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:05 (twenty years ago)

it's their own fault for selecting such stupid self-preening sexual bastards

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:06 (twenty years ago)

Big Brother (UK 2005) - Come anticipate Makosi's eviction with us all, we friendly (thread 6)
