Big Brother (UK 2005) - Come anticipate Makosi's eviction with us all, we friendly (thread 6)

Possibly this week, definitely next week.

Mind you, Craig hasn't gone so maybe naming her on this thread is courting luck (good or bad, depends on your viewpoint)

Vanessa will most probably go this week as in tests most housemates like her less than Makosi. But, noms next week, assuming normality, will have her up against a.n. other, and I think we can assume all the people who rang in to evict Vanessa will r.i.t.e. Makosi next week.

Ah, I think we have our new thread title...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:07 (nineteen years ago)

bring it on! this pregnancy shite is driving me batty!

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:14 (nineteen years ago)

I hate to say I told you so but I told you so. She's vile.

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

She's queen vile at the moment but there are plenty of worker viles in the wings waiting to be battered senseless.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, Queen Bee as opposed to Maxwell's Top Dogism.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

it was good to see maxwell on BBLB yesterday and see he's already a washed-up has-been. didn't even take a week!

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

I'm glad that I'm following this via websites because the full impact of her alleged vileness has not hit me, ergo I still find her HAWTT.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

They've found it...

http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds8181.html

"Don't talk about it - don't talk about that any more," Craig whispered to Anthony.

"Don't tell us what do to, I've told you before," the Geordie responded.

JimD (JimD), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

Craig recited the message: "There is a male in the house - a mole in the house - Anthony, wake up! Oh my God"

Ha ha - I hope Craig really did say this.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:48 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony + Craig = Ren + Stimpy

koogs (koogs), Friday, 15 July 2005 10:58 (nineteen years ago)

I wish they'd put the two of them in a den like Michelle and Emma's last year.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 July 2005 11:05 (nineteen years ago)

I'd prefer them in a ditch

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 15 July 2005 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

is this thread title a reference to something twee?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 15 July 2005 11:36 (nineteen years ago)

Pewish the thought!

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 15 July 2005 11:39 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, and thread seven is going to be called "bring back Kinga!"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

Science into second favourite with all bookmakers now... he could just about win this, you know?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:45 (nineteen years ago)

I still think the 8/1 being offered in some places on Kemal is ridiulous as well... all he needs is one big MOMENT to shore him through until the end of the series, and maybe Anthony to fuck-up...

(With Craig out of the house, will Anthony have any appeal whatsoever?)

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:47 (nineteen years ago)

Craig gone, Anthony will have Science, they seem to be OK with each other...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:50 (nineteen years ago)

"I'm glad that I'm following this via websites"

hahaha

Stoica Lois, Friday, 15 July 2005 13:08 (nineteen years ago)

I've come to the conclusion that in order to spice things up next year they should hold the thing in front of a full capacity crowd at the re-vamped Wembley Stadium.

On one hand I've got myself to blame (Lynskey), Friday, 15 July 2005 13:09 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony "Oh shurrup man, Craig"
Wembley "HRAYYYYY!!!!!"

(Um, that sounds better than it reads)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

11.40: Derek is telling HMs that he was behind Margaret Thatcher when she put her hankerchief over the....then he trails off. Makosi tells Derek that she like Mag Thatcher and Derek says 'oh shes magnificent!'

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 15 July 2005 13:51 (nineteen years ago)

tailplane of that model of the BA jet. was just after they'd decided to do away with union flag and use various ethnic designs instead.

omigod... he's POSSESSED!

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

Science running things in the house yet again! I love how he celebrates being right by throwing himself over items of furniture.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:25 (nineteen years ago)

can they squeal any louder? me bloody ears

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:25 (nineteen years ago)

Turn the volume knob down!

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:27 (nineteen years ago)

why do they put this fking jimmy carr shite on? they should have stayed with the house. i've no idea how theyre going to fit the whole final 2 negotiation + eviction into the next half hour show.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

20 mins on eviction process, 5 mins commercials, 5 mins brief-as-necessary chat with Vanessa ? If she actually goes, that is ...

darren (darren), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:46 (nineteen years ago)

smartie

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:07 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi vs. Vanessa...

Makosi seems to be trying to volunteer to leave

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:07 (nineteen years ago)

aww poor weepy vanessa

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

jesus.....drama!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

what the hell is makosi doing?

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

and what is vanessa WEARING

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

This should be the most interesting week in the house yet...

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

ha ha ha ha ha ha

lil missy, Friday, 15 July 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

i liked it when they played royal trux.

at i couldn't stop laughing at vanessa's reaction. i'm a bitch!

lil missy, Friday, 15 July 2005 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

I am trying to fight off some lingering sympathy for Vanessa's plight - fuck, it can't be great for someone essentially good-natured, even a gormless sourpuss like her, to know that not only do the GBP loathe you but all your housemates do too !

darren (darren), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

I thought someone might throw her a few charity votes after it was impossible for Makosi to be evicted anyhow.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

Vanessa's entire time in the house can be summed up in about 45 seconds. Sounds right to me.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

I thought someone might throw her a few charity votes after it was impossible for Makosi to be evicted anyhow.

I guessed that was what Kemal was probably doing.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

i felt a bit sorry for her but then i just rememebered that time she missed out on having to do maxwell's week long sorting task and the fact that she showed no remorse at all when she seen the party food & bouncy castle. she was actually a stupid worthless cunt.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:33 (nineteen years ago)

at least maxwell was, at times, quite kind to people.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:35 (nineteen years ago)

what a vacuous waste of oxygen vanessa is. what a nonentity. it's not even that the lights are on but nobody's home; the lights aren't even on.

of course, that whole housemates-choose thing was massively flawed because it would be obvious from the third vote which way the wind was blowing. (it didn't help that the second voter was craig, who was obviously just going to do whatever anthony did.) respect to kemal for actually having the balls to vote against the crowd.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:36 (nineteen years ago)

and that time she set aside the two biggest "breadrolls" for herself. what a cunt!

xp

jed_ (jed), Friday, 15 July 2005 20:38 (nineteen years ago)

will makosi go next week? it looks likey and, if she does there will be 1 girl and 6 blokes. will ch4 try and make sure that doesnt happen?

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 16 July 2005 00:12 (nineteen years ago)

ha. I think the die is cast. But that assumes Makosi is going to get nominated. Lets see, Orla, Science probably, Kemal if he's having abad day, Craig in a fit of independance, Derek likely.

Only ones prob not are Ant and Eugene

mark grout (mark grout), Saturday, 16 July 2005 07:58 (nineteen years ago)

I was quite impressed with Kemal last night, that he stuck to his guns having previously nominated Makosi in the diary room and did it again in front of everybody. I think she's a cert to go this week.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Saturday, 16 July 2005 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

I think he was being charitable, which is still admirable. Orla did not, but then I don't assume charity fits with her somehow.

mark grout (mark grout), Saturday, 16 July 2005 08:20 (nineteen years ago)

science was awesome last night. LION POWER!!!

stevie (stevie), Saturday, 16 July 2005 08:42 (nineteen years ago)

I think Kemal was trying to make the pathetic woman feel better. I laughed myself silly at how gutted she was - ah, the cold hard light of truth. I do think Endemol should try and restrain the mob outside though. People get vicious abuse for little more than being as dull as most of the wankers booing them prob'ly are. Something got thrown at Vanessa last night, didn't it? Still, hahahaha.

Orlaith wouldn't risk voting for Makosi, she knew she was staying in and wants to keep her onside. It'd be interesting to see how the vote would've gone if, say, Craig had voted Makosi early on. I can only assume that the system that was used was designed to keep her in the house.

Eugene and Orlaith are the most desperate to win it. Watching their weaselly reactions to last night's events was great.

This is the worst Big Brother evah, but when compelled to watch it, it still has its moments. Just that this year they're all nasty moments rather than nice ones.

Scream! Scrovula, Scream! (noodle vague), Saturday, 16 July 2005 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

Even though he's a gobshite, I often feel sorry for Eugene. He looks completely lost and out of his depth sometimes.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Saturday, 16 July 2005 09:36 (nineteen years ago)

I just watched it. Vanessa is a truly annoying and dull person. She isn't hateful, and I agree with Scrovula that the booing seems wrong somehow. But it was still funny watching her bawl her eyes about.

I don't feel in the slightest bit sorry for anyone who puts themselves up for public scrutiny then realises that the whole world doesn't agree with their self-image.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 16 July 2005 09:41 (nineteen years ago)

I think they will all vote for Craig v Anthony next week. The pair spent most of last night hiding in the loft complaining about how vulnerable they were now.

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 16 July 2005 09:42 (nineteen years ago)

Nominations really are out of a hat now, aren't they? Craig and Anthony are probably going to round on Eugene, Science is guaranteed noms from Derek and Kemal, Derek's got his knives out for Orlaith, and Makosi needs to change her gameplan ASAP.

Is the teeny-bopper vote going to carry Anthony to win this?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 16 July 2005 09:52 (nineteen years ago)

seriously, science is totally my favourite now.

stevie (stevie), Saturday, 16 July 2005 10:02 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi got 47% of the public vote, thats some going on a 6-way vote! vanessa got 26%.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 16 July 2005 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

Derek to win.

alix (alix), Saturday, 16 July 2005 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

v v glad vanessa went

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 16 July 2005 16:19 (nineteen years ago)

The housemates now KNOW Makosi is vulnerable, therefore she'll either:

a) be up for nomination against Science next week and evicted, or

b) stay into the last four because everyone thinks they'll get in ahead of her.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 16 July 2005 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

thank god vanessa is gone
i didn't quite realise just how unpopular makosi was with the GP.
when did it all strart? just the other week bblb said she was still 3rd to win?

tom west (thomp), Sunday, 17 July 2005 16:27 (nineteen years ago)

this anthony big brother thing is hilarious!

have to say Anthony is appearing less twattish than before on it.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony is already favourite to win, after this hes almost a dead cert.

But how much funnier would it have been with Eugene on the receiving end of Big Brothers suggestive/seductive tone.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:33 (nineteen years ago)

I reckon Anthony's probably deep down less twattish than all the other housemates, with the possible exception of Kemal.

Still, Eugene to win.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

I think it'd be funniest with one of the more annoying housemates like Orlaith in the diary room. I think I dislike her more than any of the others after that silly row with Science, she's kind of obnoxiously conservative.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

this is fucking hilarious

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:38 (nineteen years ago)

CRAIG'S FACE HAHA

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

what a lightweight!!

dmun drive-in (dmun), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

They've found the mole!

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

David Brent lives and breathes

dmun drive-in (dmun), Sunday, 17 July 2005 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

Oh God Craig is annoying isn't he. "I've got more balls than you".

Makosi's new alliance with Orlaith just smacks of desperation. Why are these people so obnoxious?

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 17 July 2005 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

Hahaha, that look on Craig's face at the end of tonight's show...like he thinks he's better than this. NO YOU AREN'T YOU LITTLE TWAT.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 17 July 2005 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

hmm. that look struck me more as the psychotic stare of a man on the edge of a horrific crime of passion.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 17 July 2005 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

what is the mole? i thought it meant someone in the house divulging stuff, but apparently its a stuffed toy?! what has it been doing?

btw some of those digital spy articles are really funny:

"Anthony confronts Derek over sexuality

Filed: 17:47, Day 51 by James Welsh

Anthony has once again said he's straight, and has confronted Derek after hearing via Makosi that rumours regarding his sexuality have been circulating.

This afternoon, Anthony reacted angrily when Makosi told him that Derek had mentioned that he thinks Anthony is gay. Confronting Derek in the garden, he stated: "Derek, it's come to my attention that you think I'm gay."

"I don't know whether you are or you're not, and frankly I don't give a damn," replied Derek in between Anthony's incessant questioning. "I don't think you are now. But would it matter if people thought you were?"

Anthony denied that he'd mind, somewhat in contradiction with his reaction when Makosi mentioned the rumours, but then clarified that he just wanted to establish that he is straight.

"I have been around for a lot of years and met a lot of people and some people need help in facing it," Derek said, explaining that the thought of Anthony's sexuality had crossed his mind and that he had wanted to help. "I do not think anyone needs to face it alone. It was a long time ago," he added.

Anthony replied that he didn't need help because he's straight.

The two eventually settled the matter, and Anthony subsequently enjoyed a long massage session with Craig."

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 17 July 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

Come on then, predict next week's vote.

Science vs Orlaith, or Science vs Orlaith vs Makosi.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 17 July 2005 21:21 (nineteen years ago)

Derek vs. Craig

They need to keep the two girls in, otherwise the house would be unbearable for the last three weeks.

Science has been shown to be massively popular among viewers and he now has Anthony (+ Craig, consequently), and Makosi "on-side." To have him up again would be boring TV.

Derek and Kemal are being edited negatively to play up their clandestine strategising, but Derek has proven too popular and Kemal would go down too easily to Science to make for gripping viewing by the public.

Craig is being edited to look worse and worse each day, but the whole Anthony/Craig thing is altogether a bit played out. Craig will lose (obviously) against Derek but the current negative Derek editing will ensure that it will be a closer race than imagined. Plus it will ensure lots of interesting viewing leading up to the eviction.

fields of salmon (fieldsofsalmon), Monday, 18 July 2005 05:10 (nineteen years ago)

This year = worst female housemates ever. Get rid of both of them. If this year's proved anything, its that getting a load of girls in because you think they're going to strip off/shag anything in sight does not an interesting BB make.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 18 July 2005 05:24 (nineteen years ago)

Craig *is* getting worse each day. I saw some of the live feed, and Science, while still defending his 'looking out for myself' stance, contrasted it with Anthony's background in non-disparaging terms. That's after Craig had a hissy fit (literally) and stomped out.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:05 (nineteen years ago)

[Science] now has Anthony (+ Craig, consequently), and Makosi "on-side."

really? this isn't what i witnessed last night. much the opposite in fact.
And I really hate Anthony arguing, I can't understand what he means most of the time. This might have been because he was a bit drunk.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:11 (nineteen years ago)

It means you don't have geordie ears.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:18 (nineteen years ago)

Science has: Ant, umm that's it.

Makosi has not: Kemal again, Derek, Craig, Orla.

People, if it's Orlaith versus Makosi this week, you know how it has to go, right?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:20 (nineteen years ago)

where people would buy the console just to play the game.

haha, no i didn't mean his accent. when he was shouting back at Science last night he just made rubbish statements (altho science was no better).

funniest moment last night, when science went into the kitchen area and EVERYBODY left the room together in an obvious shunning way.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:27 (nineteen years ago)

Man, what kind of ears do you have? That's nothing like what I said.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:28 (nineteen years ago)

geordie ears.

i assumed you were saying i couldn't understand his accent.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:30 (nineteen years ago)

where people would buy the console just to play the game.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:33 (nineteen years ago)

oh hahah, my 'cut and paste' fucked up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:33 (nineteen years ago)

wow i need to check my posting in future, that could've been a whole lot worse.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:34 (nineteen years ago)

Science can be amusing occasionally but imagine being exposed to that all day long. I can see why Orlaith lost it with him yesterday. He'd do my head in too.

Makosi needs to sling her hook ASAP.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:36 (nineteen years ago)

I can usually tolerate most people I come across in life, BUT I really wouldn’t have a problem torturing Kemal.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Monday, 18 July 2005 08:57 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal is still the only one I like.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

erm, why?

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:02 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal's grip on reality has slipped. All his incessant fretting over Makosi being a mole - even after the mole was found. And siding now with Derek and Craig like a little fuckwit after his crawling back to Makosi failed.

Science is a hero after last night's mega-row with him against the whole of Team Derek. Derek is a fucking disgrace. What a snide, spiteful, bare-faced liar he is.

dm, Monday, 18 July 2005 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

but whan on earth was the row about? i couldn't make sense out of any of it.

Is Anthony the only person in house who isn't so self-involved? I'm fed up of everyone just big-upping their own opinions. These people are scum.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal's bitches about the other housemates are the only ones I can really identify with.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:55 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony's 'game plan' involves watching all the kicking off, and offering comment. Bit like being on this thread, really!

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:00 (nineteen years ago)

Science and Makosi both appear to have mental problems.

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:04 (nineteen years ago)

What, and Craig is 'settling in to a new way of life'?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

I feel I'm spectating in this process on three levels:
1. trying to work out what's motivating the housemates to behave as they do;
2. trying to work out what's motivating the programme-makers both in the way they ineract with the housemates and in the way they edit and editorialise what goes on for massed consumption;
3. trying to work out what's motivating the voting public for voting as they do.

Of these by far the most intriguing and perplexing of these to me is actually 3.; I'm continually amazed by the results of the public votes and I'm left feeling that I really don't have any idea:
a) who all these strange people are who are actually prepared to pay money to actually participate in the process by voting;
b) what their understanding is of the objectives of the voting process and of their role in that process;
c) what actually motivates them to vote for / against any of the individual housemates (approval, empathy, physical attraction, entertainment value, sadism...?);
d) under what circumstances and to what extent do they vote tactically.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 11:30 (nineteen years ago)

I have voted twice for Big Brother.

Last year, I voted for Jason in the final week. Firstly, because I had a couple of quid on him as runner-up, and secondly because he was the only one of the final three I actually liked and I would have given up my win to see him pick up the cheque.

The other week I voted for Maxwell. This was because he was a cunt.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:02 (nineteen years ago)

Excellent choice.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:04 (nineteen years ago)

Maxwell, yes, I can understand that.

Who was the other one of the final three last year besides Nadia and Jason?

I can only think it must have been a pretty loathesome piece of excrement for you to have considered them worse than that narcissitic neanderthal Jason.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:08 (nineteen years ago)

Dan was third last year.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:11 (nineteen years ago)

and was rather nice. Jason was Horrible!

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:12 (nineteen years ago)

Aaaah yes, Dan.

I'd certainly agree that he was preferable to either Jason or Nadia.... he was still rather a pompous self-rightous twat 'though, wasn't he?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:18 (nineteen years ago)

Dan was convinced he was going to win from about week 2.

Jason... I don't know. In light of this year's "discussions" the whole Jungle Cats things seems pretty tame. He gave us the best moment of the series, him and Victor singing "The Time Of My Life". He didn't like Emma, which surely gives him a massive number of taste points.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:26 (nineteen years ago)

i've seen a lot of ppl complain about how unpleasant this year's lot are. but NADIA WON last year and she was intolerable 98% of the time. somehow the nadia/jason face-off (oh that would have been good taken literally) got us locked into an arms race between the nadia haters and the jason haters, but now we've been given all the hate in the world to play with.

still science or eugene to win plz. (obv it will still be anthony - he fits the profile of bb winner all too well)

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:28 (nineteen years ago)

Emma was the best BB contestant ever. she was 10X smarter than jason.

Eugene couldn't possibly win, could he? I don't think I'd have enough squirm in me to tolerate his winning speech.

How weird is Makosi's interview with Davina going to be?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

"Dan was convinced he was going to win from about week 2."

Which was obviously an extremely good reason to vote against him.

"In light of this year's "discussions" the whole Jungle Cats things seems pretty tame."

I never considered the Jungle Cats things to be anything other than lame. How could anyone in their right mind ever take either Jason or Victor seriously?

"obv it will still be anthony - he fits the profile of bb winner all too well"

Is there really a profile? I'm buggered if I can identify one!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:43 (nineteen years ago)

"How weird is Makosi's interview with Davina going to be?"

Who do you think will end up interviewing whom by the end of it?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

Public favour is really fickle this year, even more so than usual - it wasn't that long ago that Maxkia were top dogs, by far the most popular housemates outside. Their fall from grace was astoundingly swift - I guess Makosi replaced them but the same thing's happened to her.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 18 July 2005 13:04 (nineteen years ago)

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

Every other year I've been sucked in to watching BB every night, including Fridays, and watching BBLB every day as well. This year I might watch half an hour a week and check the website on Friday to find out who went. They don't talk about anything except being horny and how much they hate each other. I've never seen so much intrigue about nothing. It's like the Regency period, but with implants.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

kemal is the mole, right?

N_RQ, Monday, 18 July 2005 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

that was her, yes. she was truly vile - and, let's not forget, actually got chucked out by the producers for being such a danger to herself/other HMs/viewers' sanity.

yes! they were a fantastic double act and Emma was classic.

I don't think there's enough spin in the world to make Jason seem like a better person than Emma.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

Jason came over quite well in the series (well, he must have, he came second), but his interview with Davina was the must uncomfortable ever (suddenly painfully shy)...

No media career since, for the most part, especially for a runner up.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Emma, not so long ago, on Tricia. Recounting how she'd failed to mainain her media career by clubbing too much. Tricia offered her a runner job on her show, which Emma seemed quite keen on, turning over a new leaf etc. She showed she was pleased by clapping a lot.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:27 (nineteen years ago)

N_RQ, Monday, 18 July 2005 14:31 (nineteen years ago)

Are we talking about the same Jason? The one who spent his entire time in the house either playing with his hair, showing off his muscles, working on his tan, or engaging in puerile plots with a guy who made Ali G look like the authentic voice of black youth?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:32 (nineteen years ago)

Aaaaaah yes, Marco! Despite some pretty stiff competition, Marco still stands out in my memory as being the single most vile and intolerable piece of excrement Big Brother's foisted on us yet - and by some considerable margin too.

He was training to be a solicitor wasn't he? Can you imagine anyone, ever wanting him to represent them in court?

He's such an obnoxious little shit that he'd instantly turn any judge or jury against you from the start!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:48 (nineteen years ago)

> At least this year there's usually something going on woerth watching if you tune in at 3:00AM.

isn't that a function of Evil Big Brother's early wakeup calls though? last year they were a lot earlier, iirc, which tended to put the kibosh on late night shenanigans. (whereas this year tuning in before work will get you lots of footage of people sleeping but late night shows have activity)

koogs (koogs), Monday, 18 July 2005 14:52 (nineteen years ago)

yes i've been watching him. he seems fairly comfortable with craig being gay, he looks after himself, wears nice clothes (if you like that sort of thing!) - none of this adds up to him being gay. if he was in the closet i don't think he's be so comfortable. sorry but you're just wrong about this.

xp

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:27 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think Anthony is gay but I have absolutely no idea why he puts up with that vile little shit Craig.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

I think he's beginning to wonder that himself.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:29 (nineteen years ago)

In the last[x] weeks, Anthony's gone from casually announcing that he's regularly mistaken for being gay (on account of his dress sense, he reckoned) and that he's completely relaxed about that; to reacting with shock and alarm and immediately flying down the throat of any housemate who dares to suggest such a thing.

Nevertheless, Craig's obviously spotted something - and Derek's gaydar seems to have picked him up too.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:30 (nineteen years ago)

"I have absolutely no idea why he puts up with that vile little shit Craig."

Quite apart from any other considerations, you don't think the fact that Craig's apparently prepared to wait on him hand and foot might be part of it?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

that's nothing like enough to compensate for having to be in Craig's presence EVER let alone all day and all night.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:35 (nineteen years ago)

That's more hope than judgement...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

he's hardly been flying down people's throats, i just think it can be irritating to be constantly misrepresented and be doubted by people about your identity, especially sexuality. if you're straight you may well get annoyed if people always make suggestions that you're in the closet. i don't think getting pissed off about that means that you're 1. in the closet or 2, homophobic.

also i think this thing that drives people to speculate about peoples sexuality is, while not being homophobic in itself, something actually quite similar but different. i can't quite put my finger on it though.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Noms speculation:

After last night's shenanigans - Science deffo. Orlaith is hanging on by her fake fingernails though Team Derek's ludicrous fury at her burned out quickly when Kemal's obsession with Makosi once again took over and in the ensuing row Orlaith was sidelined. So I'd say Makosi and/or maybe, hopefully, Derek, with a side-order of Craig.

Dream scenario: Science up against Derek, with Derek fucking off at long last.

dm, Monday, 18 July 2005 16:14 (nineteen years ago)

Derek would probably win against science.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

The Channel Four method of only ever showing Eugene when he makes a hilarious Brentalike gaffe will guarantee his face in the final four. The other housemates will know they can pick off Makosi later, so I can see her joining him.

Orlaith, Derek, Kemal and Science all up for eviction, Orlaith to go unless Kemal becomes so amazingly obsessional and paranoid in the next few days, which could happen. Science will go when he finally comes up against Derek on his own.

If it works like last year, final five of Anthony, Derek, Eugene Makosi and Craig. Anthony just won't get nominated, the other housemates are all getting on each other's nerves far too much. And he might beat Derek in the final two.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 18 July 2005 17:06 (nineteen years ago)

Mega mega x-posts No media career since, for the most part, especially for a runner up (about Jason).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 18 July 2005 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

No, I think Craig may beat him to it.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 18 July 2005 20:40 (nineteen years ago)

I'm falling over laughing at Craig and Science right now.

"You're out of your league with me, boy. You don't know what I am or who I am"

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Monday, 18 July 2005 20:58 (nineteen years ago)

Craig provided me with quite a few laughs there but... that was difficult to watch and really quite depressing.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:05 (nineteen years ago)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

As someone posted above, because Craig is willing to wait on him hand and foot?

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

I am quite enjoying Science on this programme now. He might be my favourite character. Everyone else is firmly up their rectums. At least he is genuine.

egotripper, Monday, 18 July 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

Science calling Craig a Care Bear was comedy gold.

dm, Monday, 18 July 2005 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

(xpost) But, as someone else pointed out, that is in no way enough to make up for the fact that, well, he has to spend time in the company of the vacuous, self-obsessed, stupid little dickweed.

I think Anthony's a bit dull and stupid, but he's not hateful in the way that Craig is. I think he'd have been better in any other year. I think Craig would have been a prick regardless.

I still have yet to decide what to make of Science.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

I would hate having to live or work with Science myself, purely because it seems impossible to discuss anything with him - he just gets loud and doesn't stop talking. Maybe this is editing.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

If, god forbid, Science actually had any allies he'd be an even bigger cunt than Maxwell.

Today's annoyed me more than any other BB in weeks. I think I hate them all again.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:20 (nineteen years ago)

Orla will nom Derek and Science
Kemal wn Mak/Orl
Der wn Mak/Orl
Ant wn Der/Mak
Cra wn Sci/Mak
Sci wn Der/Cra
Mak wn Orl/Kem
Eug well who knows.

So, Derek 3, Mak 4, Orl 3, Sci 2, Cra 1, Kem 1

So, as Eugene won't nom Derek or Orla, and no reason to nom Ant.
Most likely Sci, Mak, Cra or Kem

So, Makosi, Derek, Science this week.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 06:56 (nineteen years ago)

"Orla will nom Derek and Science"

I think it's possible that she might substitute Kemal for one of them after yesterday's little contretemps.

"Kemal wn Mak/Orl"
"Mak wn Orl/Kem"

Orlaith definitely in both cases.

Who knows what goes on between Kemal and Makosi in Kemal and Makosi's heads?

As far as Kemal's concerned, everything seems to depend on what's happened in the last 5 minutes and how loudly the voices in his head are screaming, whether they're best friends or sworn enemies.

As far as I can tell, Makosi's brain appears to have been set to "random"; but I think she's unlikely to want to vote out the only other female (no matter what she may think of her) unless her reasons for doing so are tactical.

She may vote for the people that she perceives as being the strongest contenders or she may vote for the people she thinks the public are most likely to dislike, so as to ingratiate herself - so I wouldn't want to try to second-guess her at all at this point.

"Der wn Mak/Orl"
"Ant wn Der/Mak"

In both cases I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Science replace one of those. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Derek voting for Anthony.

Makosi would appear to be an easy target, so why worry about getting rid of her now, rather than trying to put two relatively strong contenders up and getting rid of one of them?

Not that I think Anthony's capable of that level of analysis of course (he's just likely to vote for Science because he's been upsetting poor ickle Cwaigy and because he can't stand Science's big mouth) but Derek's definitely a shrewd tactician.

I agree with your thinking re: Eugene except that I think Anthony's very much in the frame because Anthony's seen as being a strong contender; and I think Craig's the least likely choice out of the others.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 07:37 (nineteen years ago)

"You're a care bear gone wrong"
Line of the series so far.

I've never seen so much arguing over food rations. I think having so many contestants of sharing-a-student-flat age is a factor in this. Last night I was mesmerised by everyone flying off the handle about Science taking a bit too much mince for his sunday dinner. YOU ARE FIGHTING OVER *MINCE* ON TV YOU FUCKTARDS!

Derek is one conniving cunt. He just sits and loads guns then hands them to other people to fire. Him giving Kemal lessons in exactly how to confront Orla then sitting there smugly watching it unfold then saying "Let's have champagne" sums him up for me.
Then he decides to play some fucking bizarre race card - "I find myself, as a black man, for the first time almost hating another black man" - W. T. F. --- I suppose when you surround yourself with crusty old Tories you don't actually get to meet many black men, hateful or otherwise.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 08:02 (nineteen years ago)

Craig would lay down his life for Ant, right now.
Ant probably wouldn't for Craig. He seems to understand Science now, which is half the battle to 'stand'ing folk.

Makosi would most def. nom Orla as she was the only other to get booed.

I should have said, above,
So, Makosi, Derek, Science and Orlaith this week.

xpost I believe Science and Orlaith are wise to Derek.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 08:07 (nineteen years ago)

what's best about this is how spectacularly easy he's finding it! manipulating this lot, who are all either insane or thick as shit, must be a piece of piss after living amongst tories.

it's funny how no one talks about the psychological implications of living in a house like that at this point (whereas at the start it was a big selling point) - I don't blame Makosi or Kemal at all for bouncing off the walls.

I feel that we keep losing sight of the fact that Craig is the most vile person in the world here. next to him, everyone in the house seems like a good, sane person to know.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 08:12 (nineteen years ago)

I've been thinking about that. Isn't the theme this year, paranoia? I'd say there might be negative psychological implications for most of them when they get out. That constant bitching, back-biting and self obsession MUST impact badly at some point.

Someone I knew a few years back was always at this kind of shit and as a result, always thought others were doing the exact same back to her. Sadly, she eventually killed herself.

Absolutely OTM

"I feel that we keep losing sight of the fact that Craig is the most vile person in the world here. next to him, everyone in the house seems like a good, sane person to know."

I am inclined to agree with this. Remember the little speech from his audition tape where he basically said that he's a high-achiever because he runs a hairdressers, and that everyone who he perceives as being below him on the social ladder are basically beneath contempt untermensch?

After watching that I'd already learned to loathe and despise him before he'd even entered the House.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

how wise. If you are below Craig, you must be.

(discl: not that I acknowledge a social ladder etc...)

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

My other half has been saying since day 1 that Craig must go: but also that he is definitely delusional (and really beyond the 'I can be famous' thing that all these dickwits suffer from (I make an exception for Eugene, as experience has taught me that he is not like other folk)). Check the 'I'm the prettiest' stuff; getting upset whenever he's not the centre of attention; etc. etc. Anyway Lex is OTM: most vile person in the world.

alext (alext), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 09:17 (nineteen years ago)

perhaps, I would like derek to win

I think I have just stopped caring about this programme in the way I must have used to

Compulsion to kill and / or maim maybe.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 11:51 (nineteen years ago)

Derek winning would be fucking hilarious. I think Kemal is ok but don't really want him to win, he's a bit boring. Makosi still must go. Orlaith is awful and absolutely must go, urgently, though perhaps not as urgently as Craig, his horrible hysterical voice drives me mad.

I do really dislike Orlaith though, she's like the pompous everywoman or something.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 11:54 (nineteen years ago)

i don't like any of them, but if i had to rank them it would be... too complex because it's very love-to-hate with craig, and i like the ongoing makosi/kemal thing even though i've really gone off them as people. i don't see the problem with o-la, though there isn't much to her far as i can tell. she's hardly alone in that in a household that includes craig, anthony, and eugene.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 19 July 2005 11:57 (nineteen years ago)

derek and makosi (along with science) were heroes when overthrowing the hateful maxwell/saskia axis, now they're just using their influence to stir up shit for bland-but-unthreatening orlaith, they have become tiresome.

kemal is still kinda likeable: a strong, intense person, but this makosi-mole obsession is doing him no favours.

science is still admirable in many ways, but i wish he could "speak his mind" without shouting so loud.

i have gone from liking most housemates (seriously!) to disliking/being irritated by most of them.

anthony is ok, i guess.

craig = ugh.

eugene is the only one i think is a flat-out nice guy.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 11:59 (nineteen years ago)

She's just as boring as Eugene, she just demonstrates it less. The bonus housemates are always basically there to pad out the series but it's really obvious this time.

I think what annoys me about Orlaith is that even when she is in the right in an argument and Science (or whoever) is being a complete twat, you still find yourself wanting the aggressor to continue because she gets so pompous and mock-horrified by it all, like "you don't have the RIGHT to talk to me like that", wtf!

Apparently this afternoon's live feed has basically been Derek laying into Science for a few hours whilst Craig pulls his Scrappy Doo/Harvey Wippleman routine.

If Science can hold on this week he's going to be in such a strong position in the house, especially if he stays in over Derek.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:21 (nineteen years ago)

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:26 (nineteen years ago)

The general public _do_ like Science, plus his fanbase is a different one to the one that contains Anthony's fans, so he's not losing out there.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:26 (nineteen years ago)

Derek visited the Diary Room tonight to demand the British public make what he sees as the right decision on Friday and kick Science out.

The Tory felt Science had forfeited the right to be respected due to his unruly behaviour and wondered how much longer the group would have to suffer his presence.

"How many more times do we have to kiss and make up with one of the ugliest men I've ever seen," Derek despaired, before clarifying, "I don't refer to his aesthetic appeal... his character is ugly."

Derek
Now, where was I?
The speechwriter then delivered a lecture to the voters pleading, "Give him the verdict he deserves, which is guilty as charged!"

Although Derek did add that the public should be wary of their safety should they choose to evict Science.

"After Friday he could be roaming around anywhere in England. If you see him, be aware that he's dangerous," cautioned the right-winger. "If approached he might damage your eardrums, so keep a safe distance."

Be afraid. Be very afraid...

The even greater thing is that he reminds me of Michael Owen in those pictures. IMAGINATION IS A SWEET FACULTY.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 21:48 (nineteen years ago)

it was the gradual realisation - "oh what is he doing, oh no he can't be, surely not, he's probably just trying to get comfortable, OH GOD HE IS MY EYES MY EYES" - which was so horrific

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

But why did he keep his head above the covers and not make any real attempt to disguise it. He presumably thought they'll never show it, which is reasonable I suppose, but he of all people should know BB better.
It was the fixed stare of concentration and slight, whole body juddering... ik! I don't wanna see it!

Previous BB series have shown housemates moving rhythmically under the covers at night, I think. Can't think who, now.

It was rumoured that Craig from BB1 had a wank in the shower most days, knowing that C4 would never show it. Those were the days.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 07:10 (nineteen years ago)

It was rumoured that Craig from BB1 had a wank in the shower most days

the rumour i heard was that he once stood in front of the mirrors/cameras bollock-naked, wanking furiously and singing: "it's only a game show!"

whether or not this is true, i don't want to know. it has made him something of a hero in my eyes, and i hate it when my illusions are shattered.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

I had heard the rumour too, that doing it directly to camera without trying to hide what was going on guaranteed C4 wouldn't broadcast it.

Ray on BB4 went to the toilet with a duvet over him and had a wank, I think that was the first broadcast one.

It was the concentration/vacant stare that was the most disturbing thing about Craig last night. I think it's burned into my retinas, as I can still see it when I close my eyes.

Paddy Power eviction odds - yesterday Orla was 1-4, seems a lot of cash is going on Science to be evicted.

Orlaith 8 - 11
Science evens

BB won't want a house full of men in the final 5-6 weeks so I think Science is in for some negative editing in the next day or two.

N_RQ, Wednesday, 20 July 2005 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

Craig's rapiness hits new heights:

Oh Lord here we go...Tickle Your Fancy
Day 55, 01:40

Craig probed Anthony to see if he was constantly sexually charged in the House. He even pretended to be a girl to see if that would get Anthony excited. It didn't.

Following on from his sofa shuffle confession, Craig was keen to continue the sex talk. He was desperate to know if Anthony was as sexually frustrated as him and created a bizarre scenario to find out.

"You must be getting erections over everything" Craig said to Anthony. "If you touch your d***, does it get hard?" He pried.

"Basically aye, I think so," Anthony replied dismissively.

Craig wanted more answers though, "If you look at a girl in this House, do you instantly get an erection?" When Anthony replied 'not instantly', Craig was determined to discover what would make Anthony err, excited.

"If I was a woman, not me, not Craig, a new Housemate...and I was sitting like this yeah?" Craig said spreading his legs, "and you could see up my skirt..."

Disturbed, Anthony snapped, "Why do you have to pretend that you're a girl? Talk us through it, I have got an imagination!" Imitating Craig and spreading his legs, Anthony carried on, "You don't have to go 'I'm a girl right, this is my f****'!"

Continuing on about his hypothetical girl, Craig said, "...sat so you could see up her skirt and she had no underwear on... would you get excited? Would you sit there and stare?"

"Probablies yeah, any man would!" A visibly rattled Anthony replied. "Just like I would over something else!" Craig screeched. "See what I'm coming at now, I'm trying to make you realise."

Realise what Craig?

Scarier than Paul Danan was.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

The BB site is still reporting that Orla is a dead cert to go (i.e. quoting yesterday's odds). Seems to me they're hoping for a bit of voter apathy there.

Paddy Power latest is now:
Orlaith 4 - 6
Science 11 - 10

BB site says:
1/5 Orlaith
3/1 Science

Anthony
Science: "When he kicks off the bloke turns into a completely, unreasonable arsehole."
Orlaith: "If someone wants out then I want them out."

Craig
Science: "He has a singular and selfish attitude and is difficult to have to live with."
Makosi: "She’s been doing quite a lot of shit stirring, going from person to person saying stuff."

Derek
Science: "He’s destructive as a housemate and has prejudices that in modern Britain are completely unacceptable."
Orlaith: "She pouts for Northern Ireland and uses men as sexual objects."

Eugene
Science: "He consistently manages to create enough bickering to keep people on edge. He’s made life difficult for a lot of people in the house."
Orlaith: "She said I’m a waste of space. The remark wasn’t necessary but I can understand why she made it."

Kemal
Science: "God knows how many weeks I’ve nominated him. His behaviour is taking its toll and it’s time for him to leave the house and let us live in peace. He’s a nasty, malicious little boy."
Orlaith: "I don’t trust her… talking about me behind my back to my best friend Makosi. People would kill to be in here but she does not appreciated the experience."

Makosi
Kemal: "I can’t stand the little boy, don’t want to know him anymore. Everything he does is in the name of drama."
Derek: "He waits for the slightest, slyest comment about sexuality or colour and pounces. For someone with very important friends, he’s a very insecure little man."

Orlaith
Kemal: "I think he's noticed that Makosi and myself are spending more time together. He was trying to say he doesn’t want me to come between their friendship."
Derek: "I don’t have anything in common with him. He’s only nice to you when he wants to be. Very manipulative person."

Science
Craig: "He disrespected Science for no reason, no true reason. One minute he’s cool with me, next he’s switched."
Derek: "Derek the Dark deceiver. He came out with the talk that 'peasant, I'll pack your bags for you.' It's not a colour thing but he makes it that."

The nominations tally:

Science (5 votes)
Orlaith (4 votes)
Derek (3 votes)
Kemal (2 votes)
Craig (1 vote)
Makosi (1 vote)
Anthony (0 votes)
Eugene (0 votes)

science vs orlaith is EXACTLY like student teachers at an all boys school.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 20:36 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony "the one quality I like in a friend is loyalty"

Craig = creepy grin.

AARRRGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 20:47 (nineteen years ago)

What exactly is it you lot see in Science?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:02 (nineteen years ago)

Interesting how Craig has become more likeable (deep down it pains me to say that) now he's in love. Same happened to Maxwell too. Does this happen in Proper Life too, do arseholes mellow out when

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:19 (nineteen years ago)

[heart symbol] comes along?

Looks like Science has fucked it now. He was vile tonight. With all the talking of biased editing, I wonder how on earth they could have made a pro-Science show out of the events shown just then. I think I'm transferring my liking for Eugene, he represents that pathetic but likeable loser aspect in all of us. Like when you tell an amusing anecdote and it falls flat, Eugene is the mildly shameful feeling that results, WRIT LARGE. Though I did a little cheer earlier when he tried to show Science the error of his ways.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:19 (nineteen years ago)

What exactly is it you lot see in Science?

When he isn't being testy (which, granted, doesn't seem to be very often these days) he's often a breath of fresh air. I like that he doesn't get involved in the others' games.

People talking on top of each other is much more of a headfuck when it's coming out of a loudspeaker than it is in real life.

It's interesting that Orlaith didn't nominate Science - I wonder if it's just because she knew the others would.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

I'm sure Science was a pain yesterday, but it didn't help that the bit they showed (or maybe the only thing on his card?) of the dinner conversation was him answering the question "What do you like about yourself?". I mean, they could have had him talking about what he values in a friend, like Anthony got to talk about.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

Interesting how Craig has become more likeable (deep down it pains me to say that) now he's in love.

If by "in love" you mean "edited to the point that he only appears on screen to do some fucking pointless hand gestures and being pool-sodomised by Anthony", yes.

Johnny Justice, Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:45 (nineteen years ago)

So you like that?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:48 (nineteen years ago)

That's it exactly! Aw come on, he's infatuated with Anthony. Unrequited love then. And Anthony is either teasing him terribly or doesn't have a fucking clue about anything at all ever.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:52 (nineteen years ago)

Well, Craig is infinitely more likeable when it's possible to pretend he doesn't actually exist. Or mistaken for Big Brother 1 Craig. Or the Devil.

The dinner conversation was pro-Science - he was trying to explain about his good qualities, having love for his enemies, while Mr Manners Derek was rudely talking over him.

Johnny Justice, Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:53 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene is nothing but a weak-minded moron. No big surprise that he carried out Derek's orders to the letter in the nominations, and what's this business about wanting to put arsenic on Science's cigarettes to poison him? Fucking wierdo.

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:57 (nineteen years ago)

Science was all over the place on tonight's show, a complete noisome git, but he has my sympathies. Hope he stays if only to see Derek's world crumble.

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 21:59 (nineteen years ago)

Science has to stay, it's as simple as. If he goes it's just going to become the Derek puppet show.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 22:00 (nineteen years ago)

If he goes it's just going to become the Derek puppet show.

If he stays it'll be the Derek Puppet Show...WITH SHOUTING.

Is this the first time Big Brother's had a proper anti-hero?

Johnny Justice, Wednesday, 20 July 2005 22:04 (nineteen years ago)

I think the public always vote in a very short-term memory 'must punish the bad boy' way. Like, Maxwell was loved then he got cocky and booted out. I'm guessing the same will happen to Science on Friday. Hopefully, the next few days will balance out a bit as I'd like Science to stay but not being portrayed as he is now. It's almost painful to watch, with all the yelling and crying and blankings.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Interesting how Craig has become more likeable (deep down it pains me to say that) now he's in love.

he hasn't though, he has descended from an already vile Gollum type figure to even grimmer depths.

I would rather Science stay over Orlaith BUT if Orlaith goes then the resultant six boys/one girl split could be rather unbearable, so on balance it's probably a better thing if Orlaith stays.

Why is it that Vanessa (dim, dull, irritating, naïve, probably a good person at heart) was loathed for those first three qualities whereas Eugene (dim, dull, irritating, naïve, probably a good person at heart) is forgiven them?

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 21 July 2005 00:07 (nineteen years ago)

because Eugene seems kind and cares enough about the other people in the house; enough to get genuinely upset when he failed the mini task he was set, he actually started crying... i think he cried the other day during the dog task too but i kinda missed that bit. contrast that with vanessa's reaction when she wormed her way out of the sorting task . He actually has quite a strong identity too, whether it's one you like or not.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 21 July 2005 00:58 (nineteen years ago)

That sparklit poll has them 49% Orlaith, 51% Science, right now.

See how it changes today, after last night's prog.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 21 July 2005 06:55 (nineteen years ago)

I have to admit that Chris Moyles's Science impression this morning was deadly.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 July 2005 07:00 (nineteen years ago)

(what were the sparklit poll standings before last night, mark?)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 July 2005 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

Science was at the 58% mark, I believe.

Allowing for the programme effect to not have happened to the voting yet, will Science's percentage soar?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 21 July 2005 07:13 (nineteen years ago)

How magically fitting would it be if Science managed to get himself evicted by being a total bastard to Orlaith, and she thus had to stay!

He was pretty vile last night. Having said that he did say "I'm free like the littlest hobo, I'm Sci-Dog", and the bit at the end where he was like "MORE REVELATIONS TODAY FOR SCIENCE" etc was pretty funny.

Alba otm about him not participating, it's that which makes him appealing, he really is just on his own there.

Eugene is definitely less boring than Vanessa, and more independent.

Still finding it hard to want Science to go above boring Orlaith, also her constant "I want to go" thing is dubious, is it just a safety net?

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 21 July 2005 07:17 (nineteen years ago)

Umm, no I definitely think she wants to go rather than stay painfully with Science. Once he goes, she may start to enjoy it more.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 21 July 2005 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

I don't like Orlaith, but I feel her pain having to live with Science. He makes me mental and I only have to listen to 30 seconds of him a day. And even then I don't actually have to. Imagine if you had to listen to that all the time. He never says anything that makes any sense. Any witty or amusing remark he might ever have made is a random occurence, like monkeys writing Shakespeare.

That said, he does seem to be the only one who remembers that there are cameras there all the time.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:12 (nineteen years ago)

If she wants to go so much then why doesn't she just walk out? Are there penalty clauses in their contracts?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:12 (nineteen years ago)

you listen to chris moyles alba?
hmm...
i haven't seen BB in DAYS. seems like i'm really missing out... nah.

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:20 (nineteen years ago)

I think she's too pompous to walk. She makes Derek seem moderate by comparison.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:25 (nineteen years ago)

I flick around.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:26 (nineteen years ago)

Orlaith does some of the worst fake crying I've seen this side of the average Catholic funeral.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:26 (nineteen years ago)

orlaith's: "i've got SO MUCH to do, my nails, choosing my eviction outfit, defoliation*..." just about sums her up.

i don't like the way science insists that it's other people who are inconsiderate and who talk over people when that's exactly his problem. and last night when seemed lonely, almost, and he asked eugene if he could talk and it just ended up in a.n.other shouting match just pained me, especially as eugene was trying to be voice of reason.

the way derek thinks it's wimbledon fortnight makes me chuckle. as does science trying to be a gangsta whilst dressed in pale blue dog costume.

*exfoliation

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 21 July 2005 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

I like the way that Science has arbitrarily appointed himself narrator, and if he witnesses any drama he's not part of will actually turn to face a camera and start declaiming!

I wish he didn't have to go, because Orlaith is rather dull, but come on - SIX BOYS AND ONE GIRL. That would be awful.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 21 July 2005 09:07 (nineteen years ago)

I still think he'll stay in.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 21 July 2005 09:08 (nineteen years ago)

SIX BOYS AND ONE GIRL would be interesting.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 July 2005 09:09 (nineteen years ago)

Science is now odds on favourite to be evicted.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 21 July 2005 09:11 (nineteen years ago)

that poll thing hasn't moved.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 21 July 2005 09:18 (nineteen years ago)

"[Orlaith's] constant "I want to go" thing is dubious, is it just a safety net?"

"Umm, no I definitely think she wants to go rather than stay painfully with Science. Once he goes, she may start to enjoy it more."

"I think she's too pompous to walk. She makes Derek seem moderate by comparison."

Haven't we seen repeatedly in the past that the one thing that any housemate is guaranteed to achieve by sitting in the diary room blubbing "please vote me out, I want to go home" is to make the cynical and sadistic public more inclined to leave them in?

Have we not also already seen several housemates try to use this as a tactic to try and keep themselves in?

Unfortunately of course, you do have to be convincing to get away with this, 'cos if there's one thing that's guaranteed to piss the cynical and sadistic public off it's when they realise that someone's deliberately trying to manipulate them....

"Orlaith does some of the worst fake crying I've seen this side of the average Catholic funeral."

Indeed.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 21 July 2005 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

If Orlaith goes they could bring someone (female) back?

The Jive Session (elwisty), Thursday, 21 July 2005 13:26 (nineteen years ago)

Unless something dramatic happens, Science is going.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 21 July 2005 13:28 (nineteen years ago)

Well, that poll link has them 50% each, now. (Science slightly ahead)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 21 July 2005 13:42 (nineteen years ago)

I'd say the real figures are probably something like 53 Science 47 Orlaith at the moment, but that's just my gut feeling.

Endemol's editing is key, I think they'll bite the bullet and go with just one female in the house if they reckon that Science's Greek chorus is preferrable (it is).

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 21 July 2005 13:47 (nineteen years ago)

That poll is very likely wrong, then. I have reason for knowing this, which I can't go into...

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 21 July 2005 13:49 (nineteen years ago)

God bless the morons at DigiSpy's forums for their ability to tag the word "gate" onto any issue that arises.

It's now "GAY MOUTHGATE".

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 21 July 2005 20:13 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi doing that entire obstacle course in floods of tears was drama queen-tastic.

(I assume because she had to get dirty and stuff during it)

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 21 July 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

Science must go.

AdrianB (AdrianB), Thursday, 21 July 2005 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

Who? Craig or Makosi?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 21 July 2005 22:14 (nineteen years ago)

wrt Endemol's alleged editing to influence the results: is it just me or have they previously always announced the nominees in number order (i.e. the number you have to ring to vote to have them evicted)?

Tonight they announced Orlaith (#15) before Science (#12).

I'd imagine the person they name last is most likely to stay in your mind.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 21 July 2005 22:20 (nineteen years ago)

get a grip.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 21 July 2005 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

Alphabetical. Always alphabetical. Orlaith only has a higher number because she was a late entrant into the house.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 21 July 2005 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

i think science will be going.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 22 July 2005 17:35 (nineteen years ago)

apologies for the "get a grip" stewart but yeah, it's always alphabetical and you could easily argue that the first one listed is most likely to go rather than the second one. i don't see that that could make any difference. "i don't know who to vote for - i'll just vote for the second one."?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 22 July 2005 17:38 (nineteen years ago)

I love Paddy Power gimmicks

Paddy Power are offering money back on all losing 8th Eviction bets if Davina feels Orlaith's famous boobs, or if Science says "D’Ya Get Me?" more than eight times in his post eviction interview!

Science 1 - 3
Orlaith 2 - 1

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 22 July 2005 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

the one time a girl hasn't been evicted is when there was no girl to choose.

what does this mean?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 22 July 2005 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

"Alphabetical. Always alphabetical. Orlaith only has a higher number because she was a late entrant into the house."

Aaaah, makes sense.

"you could easily argue that the first one listed is most likely to go rather than the second one. i don't see that that could make any difference. "i don't know who to vote for - i'll just vote for the second one."?"

I wasn't arguing it so much as idly pondering it: I'm certainly not sufficiently bothered to research whether there's any identifiable correlation between the order nominees are announced in and who gets ends up getting voted out.

That said, the voting public do appear to have an extraordinarily short attention span and relatively recent events in the House (and the way they're presented and the protagonists portrayed) do regularly seem to have a hugely disproportionate effect on the vote.

Nevertheless, you were absolutely right in your admonition: the fact that I seem to have been giving every impression of actually giving a flying fuck what happens and who gets voted out is quite clearly and indefensibly lame, and I really should try to get a grip.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 22 July 2005 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

Housemate of the series, easy as.

And he's got MOP for his highlights package!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 22 July 2005 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

science was my favourite.
science has gone.
this makes me HELLA sad.

lil missy, Friday, 22 July 2005 20:30 (nineteen years ago)

Science was nearly as good as Mary. I want Science to do a track with Sway.
"I am Science and you are Sway."
That's what he'd say and then they'd rap about all the people not liking him but him not giving a shit. It would be well good. But itmight destroy Sway's chances of success in the field of music and so would in all honesty be a really bad idea.

The Jive Session (elwisty), Friday, 22 July 2005 20:52 (nineteen years ago)

Fucking hell that was close. Orlaith went from 38% to 50% in the space of about 10 minutes. That "The public wants me to stay" speech was a REALLY bad idea!

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 22 July 2005 22:08 (nineteen years ago)

When did she actually make that little announcement?

Is it possible that Endemol showed that at that precise point as a cynical move to generate a huge amount of additional late income voting?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Saturday, 23 July 2005 07:28 (nineteen years ago)

"the voting public do appear to have an extraordinarily short attention span and relatively recent events in the House (and the way they're presented and the protagonists portrayed) do regularly seem to have a hugely disproportionate effect on the vote."

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Saturday, 23 July 2005 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

missed most of the actual eviction as we were all out and it wasn't repeated on saturday because of the fscking cricket. (was on e4 but only found out too late). did catch him giving a one word description of the other housemates though. of eugene: 'if i'm science then he's technology' which was funny.

sunday night's, though, was one of the most disturbing things i've seen (craig drunk).

seven(?) left but everything seems to be winding up (bblb competitions have 2 weeks to run for example). sounds like a mass cull is on the cards.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 07:31 (nineteen years ago)

There was a clip of Derek on BBLB last night which definitely implied Eugene was one of his choices.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 07:41 (nineteen years ago)

Craig was hilarious last night, moping around, looking at Anthony in near-mute carnal, puppy-dog desperation, trying force himself to cry tears of knifelike pain in the pool - I laughed so often and so hard.

Makosi was being a nonce last night, especially when she sabotaged Orlaith's mission and bigged herself up in typical, over-hysterical African ego-girl style.

BARMS, Tuesday, 26 July 2005 07:46 (nineteen years ago)

i fell asleep at 9.30pm. what the fuck is wrong with me?

N_RQ, Tuesday, 26 July 2005 07:52 (nineteen years ago)

(I thought it was Kemal implied, but wth)

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:01 (nineteen years ago)

Mark, Craig has been snide about Eugene since before Science went and seems like he is setting him up with targeted bitchery. Also you give Makosi two stays so your eviction vote is Derek v Eugene v Orlaith.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:04 (nineteen years ago)

I'm really good at this, aren't I?

I guess Craig is safe, as Ant will vote for him, and Derek too...

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:08 (nineteen years ago)

Mark actually gives Mak(osi) THREE stays.

I think by this point many of them will definitely have their eye on the prize and getting rid of competition.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:31 (nineteen years ago)

.. alternately, keeping those they expect to win against...

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:34 (nineteen years ago)

Well yes - that's what I mean in terms of this week.

CUTEST KITTEN EVER!

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:38 (nineteen years ago)

these people are the only gang of twads that can argue over a kitten *that* cute

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:39 (nineteen years ago)

Umm, i don't know if it's just me, but do you get the impression Derek can't bear these people?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

There was a clip of Derek on BBLB last night which definitely implied Eugene was one of his choices.

i briefly saw the clip i think, what was this all about? i mean have they already nominated their saves or was it clips of old footage of the housemates bigging up each other?

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:26 (nineteen years ago)

Noms 'happen' on Mondays, we get to hear the results today, 17:30 ish, the same time as the housemates do.

Clips are teaser snippets from the noms.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:32 (nineteen years ago)

oh right, well i'm pretty sure that was indeed eugene that derek was talking about. "eccentric"

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:36 (nineteen years ago)

So, who would Craig keep, after Ant?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:38 (nineteen years ago)

Derek or Orlaith?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:40 (nineteen years ago)

definitely not Orlaith, surely.
not eugene
not makosi
who's left? kemal & derek? hmm

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:44 (nineteen years ago)

He hates Kemal! Also I think he sees him as a potential winner. Does he hate Orlaith now too? I missed yesterday's.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:48 (nineteen years ago)

don't know about hate, but didn't anthony choose Orlaith as the person more sexier than himself or something. Cue camera focus on Craigs big face after that bombshell.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:52 (nineteen years ago)

He hates Orlaith because Ant 'loves' her. Please keep up...

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 09:55 (nineteen years ago)

I thought he hated Makosi for that reason! I will try harder.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

her too. and her. and her.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 10:16 (nineteen years ago)

So, Derek then.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

oh my, kemals story last night of his first ever gay sexual encounter was tragic

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

tell me!

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

an after-the-break teaser, last night, was kemal, with sunglasses on, saying something along the lines of "I thought 'oh my God, what am I doing? I'm sixteen, having sex, with a stranger, in a skip'"

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 13:27 (nineteen years ago)

he met an older guy off the internet, who drove him somewhere where there was a skip, there was cock sucking, the guy drove off leaving him in the skip.

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 13:29 (nineteen years ago)

sounds hot.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 26 July 2005 13:31 (nineteen years ago)

Hop, skip and hump

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 13:52 (nineteen years ago)

Bloody internet.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal's skip story was the most obviously made up on the spot farrago of nonsense I have ever heard.

Adam Faithless (Adam Faithless), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

you mean you actually drove him home, adam?

N_RQ, Tuesday, 26 July 2005 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

"MI5!" *high 5's ILX*

(Adam and Kemal went all the way too)

BARMS, Tuesday, 26 July 2005 14:29 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal and Orlaith nominated. BOOOOORING.

JimD (JimD), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

Who other than Derek nominated Eugene as one of their two faves? Kemal? And bloody WHY?

Kemal must go!

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 16:34 (nineteen years ago)

Oh please let Kemal go, he's more boring than Vanessa.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 16:36 (nineteen years ago)

"I've had an abortion"

Was that another lie from Makosi? Another sympathy vote?

dmun drive-in (dmun), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 20:12 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene: "Craig is very intelligent"

Me: GGGGGGAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! **hits head off brick wall**

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 20:23 (nineteen years ago)

They are all so nominating the ones they think they can beat.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

My guess is that at least one of "I am a virgin" and "I've had an abortion" is a lie.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 20:38 (nineteen years ago)

Or else the little baby Jesus really IS crying.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

Hmm, get one Madonna/whore complex.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 21:25 (nineteen years ago)

kemal hitting his guitar rather than playing it: totally punk rock or utterly wet and weedy? i can't decide.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 21:27 (nineteen years ago)

It was totally Patrik Fitzgerald => punk!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 21:31 (nineteen years ago)

I believe Kemal's skip story. He looked cute yesterday.

Cathy (Cathy), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 21:58 (nineteen years ago)

http://vote.sparklit.com/poll.spark/925625

Early days, but Kemal is ahead, 53% to 47%

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal's dead. He was picked out as a bet to take at 11/1 in the Racing Post on Monday, so a bunch of gamblers will have his number on speed dial right now.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 26 July 2005 23:20 (nineteen years ago)

Rumour has it that regardless of who *wins* the only housemates to be taken on by that agent of Davina/Dermot's (who has first pick of the contestants) will be Derek, Kemal and Makosi.

I would really prefer Orlaith to go because Kemal will bitch/cry like a baby when he discovers Makosi did not vote for him to stay. Although Orlaith looks uncannily like my friend T3ss@.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 05:46 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal comfortably odds on with Paddy Power.

Tonight's highlights are must-watch, mainly for Anthony upsetting Craig by telling him he looks like Myra Hindley in his wig for the spy task.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 07:38 (nineteen years ago)

Kemal must go. so annoying.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 08:57 (nineteen years ago)

I think it would be most appropriate if BB just decided to evict them all now as they're all too hideous to win.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:00 (nineteen years ago)

so a bunch of gamblers will have his number on speed dial right now.

Only if they're not paying the bill.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:15 (nineteen years ago)

kemal must stay and eugene must win.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:16 (nineteen years ago)

I agree, but I thought you didn't like kemal.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:17 (nineteen years ago)

So are the "Derek Laud Likes Small Boys" stories never going to break, then?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:23 (nineteen years ago)

It would be funny if they put some small boys into the house, as a test.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:24 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry - not funny. Completely irresponsible.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:25 (nineteen years ago)

"As a result of Derek asking the small boys if they wanted to come to his room and see his puppies, the group have failed this week's task and must survive on a food budget of one pound a day"

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:26 (nineteen years ago)

i like kemal, i think i always liked him but i can't remember. at least since he get max and saskia out of bed, anyway.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 09:37 (nineteen years ago)

why only one hour of kitten, and that was edited down to like 20 seconds in last nights show. BRING ON THE KITTENS, BB

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

what on earth are any of you talking about?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 11:50 (nineteen years ago)

Is it just me, or did Makosi describe someone last night as being "superlicious"?

Bumchowser (Bumchowser), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

she did. i've heard them use that particular attempt at a word before too. they really are a bunch of knobbers.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 12:21 (nineteen years ago)

Ahh, yes, I thought I'd heard someone say it before as well. I hope to God it was her, because if there's two people out there that believe that's an actual word we're in even more trouble than I thought.

Bumchowser (Bumchowser), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 12:30 (nineteen years ago)

"BRING ON THE K9s"

Does this mean Mr. Grout and myself can hijack another innocent thread to start reminiscing about the Reading punk scene?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

But she used it in a negative way, didn't she?

yup. she meant "supercilious", i think.

they (except eugene) really are all so fucking stupid. craig doesn't even know what "autumnal" means, FFS. but, having watched eugene tell his astonishingly tedious priest/nun story last night, i'm going off him too. how anyone can fail to score a laugh with a story involving nuns, i have no idea.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

not only are they all knobbers, they're now knobbers who go "beep" really loudly. could they be any more irritating?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

We need to stop defending Eugene on the grounds that he has an IQ of over 70. He's an annoying, smirky little office clown. I think as soon as he came into the house someone made the Colin Hunt comparison and they were right.

Bring back Kinga.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 20:26 (nineteen years ago)

No, he's far more Alan Partridge still. The way he said "Classic hit!" when they played 'Live And Let Die' as today's alarm was almost perfect Partridge, and images of Eugene dancing on a Travelodge hotel room bed in 20 years while singing along to 'Jet' were irresistible.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 20:33 (nineteen years ago)

haha Eugene's nun and a priest story was mind-boggling, I couldn't understand what on earth he was on about. How he said the same thing twice with exactly the same intonation, words, punctuated laughing, etc. Nuts.

Funniest BB moment of the year for me was the other day. Anthony and Craig sat on the couch, Craig sulking about something or other and Anthony does his best to cheer him up: "Come on man, what's up with you man, you've got a face like shite, what's wrong wi'you man?"
Slight pause as Craig takes this in, frowns, then spits "I've got a face like shite?!"
The sheer indignance in his voice was stunning.

Very amused by the Myra Hindley comments just now too.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 20:37 (nineteen years ago)

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 20:47 (nineteen years ago)

he said the same thing twice with exactly the same intonation, words, punctuated laughing

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:01 (nineteen years ago)

that 'yeah whatever' made me spit my vimto out laughing. and craig too, "anthony, look where we are! im gonna go out there and they'll call me that!" please please please, tabloids and the public of britain, please make the myra tag stick to dear little craig.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

i hate how addicted i've gotten to this now. fuck.

Could Golaith put a bra on once in a while? And maybe Makosi could stop stealing Golaith's bra and squiding her ginoma-huge boobs into those tiny holsters.

Yeah

So, boobs?

I have never done anything even remotely like this 'though!

In fact, I've never even met Anthony.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

Have you not heard of remote wanking?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:03 (nineteen years ago)

OMG! How disturbing was that? Craig: "I'm your best friend & I'll look after you. Oh now you've got sick all over my hand." Anthony: "LEAVE ME ALONE MAN!"

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:11 (nineteen years ago)

helping someone sober up entails stripping them down to their pants, rubbing them all over and then lying on top of them. who knew?

caught a bit of it again this morning and, yes, they'd cut a lot out (was an extended episode last night so i guess they had to trim it down for the non-extended morning slot anyway).

koogs (koogs), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:31 (nineteen years ago)

LYING ON TOP OF THEM?!?! craig actually did this?

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

So what vomit inducing scenes did we miss out on Koogs?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:42 (nineteen years ago)

they (c and e) were carrying a from the living room to the bedroom. they put him down on the corner of the sofa and whilst eugene opened the door craig just draped himself over anthony like some kind of grieving widow.

the bit i noticed was missing this morning was eugene's efforts to extract craig from the diary room when anthony insisted he wanted to talk to bb on his own (getting him into the diary room was no mean feat either, he seemed really confused by the mirrored door plus was trying to keep craig out whilst entering himself). they also cut about 30 seconds of anthony sat on the chair looking like death warmed over and asking if BB minded if he vomit on their carpet.

koogs (koogs), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:52 (nineteen years ago)

"Big Brother would prefer that you were not sick on the carpet, Anthony."

It was so gross. At one point Craig had his hand on Ant's inner thigh. The other housemates were in the next room looking on at the rapeyness and have finally noticed that Craig is really evil.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

Craig was so horribly creepy. If Anthony doesn't tell him to "fuck right of" today, then Anthony deserves what he gets. Although I was torn last night between laughing & feeling sick. FINALLY the stupid housemates realise that Craig is a nutter.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:00 (nineteen years ago)

before craig leaves i confess i do want to see the scene where anthony finally snaps at him. i am completely mystified as to how it hasn't happened yet but then anthony is a very dim boy.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:10 (nineteen years ago)

So, what now? Now we anticipate Craig's eviction?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:14 (nineteen years ago)

truly great television: the ending rivalled 'some like it hot'.

just staggering, really. craig MUST stay.

N_RQ, Friday, 29 July 2005 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

Orlaith is now 1% ahead on the sparklit poll.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:16 (nineteen years ago)

Didn't Kemal look a bit like Prince from certain angles last night?

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:18 (nineteen years ago)

but then anthony is a very dim boy.

exactly, and he doesn't seem to get wound up like most of the other housemates which is why i've preferred him from the start. I saw this whole 'Craig' thing coming as soon as Maxwell was evicted.

(give me a sodding medal)

xpost and kemal always looks like prince

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

I never noticed it until last night.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:23 (nineteen years ago)

has anyone in the house mentioned it to him yet?

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:24 (nineteen years ago)

That had never occured to me, although it's totally OTM!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

xpost/He was wearing a wig and white suit that was totally Under The Cherry Moon but I could not grab the piccie.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:33 (nineteen years ago)

"i am completely mystified as to how it hasn't happened yet"

Probably because every single person who's been evicted after Lesley has either been a friend, or at least a 'man's man' that Anthony respected (Roberto, Science). He's stuck with Derek (who actively hates him) Makosi (who thinks he's a fool), Kemal (who's his exact opposite and Eugene (who thinks he's "dull", and presumably vice-versa) from next week, so he doesn't have much choice.

Johnny Justice, Friday, 29 July 2005 08:49 (nineteen years ago)

Can you imagine craig being your friend?

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/latest-pics/day62/d61_1245_craigdr_g.jpg

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:56 (nineteen years ago)

He looks uncannily like my friend Stuart who is also from Norfolk but is the director of the art gallery M0dern Art Inc.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 08:58 (nineteen years ago)

Oh your poor friend Suzy!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:02 (nineteen years ago)

Don't you worry about my friend! He is sans le bitch tits and hangs out with nice artists; ran screaming from Norwich at first possible opportunity.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:05 (nineteen years ago)

that second pic looks like a still from "rubber johnny"

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:07 (nineteen years ago)

Another ex-colleague is a total wannabe Derek and lookalike called C¥prian (West Indian gay guy trying to be seen as posh). In fact when I mentioned it to the stately homo who was creative-directing last month's ESM he laughed and said he reckoned C. had been sniffing around that whole yucky World Of Interiors scene of which D is a member due to issues about getting closer to money and power. Dork.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:11 (nineteen years ago)

http://www.warprecords.com/media/img/rj.jpg

"Ant'nee.... Who is your very best friend...?"
"Me ma, granma"
"no, take two..."

(Was going to i that image, thought better of it..)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:13 (nineteen years ago)

I don't know anyone like anyone on big brother

crosspost

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:16 (nineteen years ago)

that whole yucky World Of Interiors scene of which D is a member

Is this some mysterious secret code for a gay scene-fragment I've been previously unaware of?

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:22 (nineteen years ago)

any news on whether craig raped anthony? not sure if its mentioned upthread, but the other week, when craig was on the couch, i swear he was knocking one off under the covers. not sure if anthony was asleep on the other sofa while he was doing this.

fizzle, Friday, 29 July 2005 10:03 (nineteen years ago)

EUW!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:05 (nineteen years ago)

Ant was elsewhere.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:12 (nineteen years ago)

i see bad things happening to craig when he comes out the house. i fear he will be taken advantage of.

fizzle, Friday, 29 July 2005 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

I fear he will be asked lots of questions by a girl with a microphone.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

i fear he will have his anal passage stuffed with a microphone.

fizzle, Friday, 29 July 2005 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

Unfortunately, it will only be Davina and the inevitable tame shite.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:24 (nineteen years ago)

i pray its orleith who gets voted out this week (although that will mean no more breasts). BB needs kamal desperately. who else will flirt with big brother in the diary room using crappy innuendo?

fizzle, Friday, 29 July 2005 10:29 (nineteen years ago)

anthony?

koogs (koogs), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:33 (nineteen years ago)

I think Kemal looks like Gloria from It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

I don't think Craig could pull off Lar-de-Dar Gunner Graham, but I'm sure he'd like to.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:45 (nineteen years ago)

i pray its orleith who gets voted out this week (although that will mean no more breasts).

Those aren't breasts, those are jelly moulds

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:50 (nineteen years ago)

But, seriously, surely there are no heterosexual men who find Orlaith's breasts attractive? Well, Calum might, but that doesn't count.

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:52 (nineteen years ago)

We should come up with a list of questions that Craig should be faced with when he comes out (if all were right with the world and Davina grew a pair of balls).

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

Delighted to see that people are finally coming round to the fact that that beaky-nosed harridan Davina McCall is SHITE

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:58 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, get that Jayne Middlemiss next year!

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:08 (nineteen years ago)

"I don't think Craig could pull off Lar-de-Dar Gunner Graham, but I'm sure he'd like to."

That's a fine pair of manboobs Gunner Craig, show 'em off, show 'em off!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:09 (nineteen years ago)

Right, as Orlaith is still 51%, looks like it's her night tonight. Surely, Kemal is in for the late boost? He's had two of his best (i.e. appealing to the GP) days.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 29 July 2005 15:36 (nineteen years ago)

I never thought Kemal would go (famous last words). I really should act on my BB hunches at the bookies. I'd be a rich man by now. If I were on some kind of accumulator. That allowed the odd wrong one.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 29 July 2005 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

that's a bit dissappointing.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 29 July 2005 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, Kemal was my favourite. Don't really care who wins now though morbidly interested in the fate of Anthony and Craig.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 29 July 2005 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

that was the first interview that's actually held my attention. what a bummer. it's pretty much over for me too apart from the soon to come attempted rape from craig.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 29 July 2005 20:31 (nineteen years ago)

YAY! Result!

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Friday, 29 July 2005 20:37 (nineteen years ago)

"to far"

jed_ (jed), Friday, 29 July 2005 20:49 (nineteen years ago)

a bit bad

didn't want kemal to go but, when he did, he was awful, as I had worried he would be

OK, not awful but too much "babydoll" and "fabulous" and the "zhoozh" (?????) and, uhhh, "you haven't seen the last of me!!!!", at the end, twice or three times!

bad

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 July 2005 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

oh zhoozh you.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 29 July 2005 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

Big Brother (UK 2005) - Come anticipate Derek's eviction with us, oh yes he is! (thread 7)
