Jinglesource regrets that its office location deep below the waters of the Pacific prevents its staff from producing and distributing new jingles during European or American daytime hours. The Jingle Fulfillment Staff estimates delivery of further jingles within approximately 24 hours, subject to change.

Currently confirmed jingle requests include the following individuals: forksclovetofu, anthony easton, Ian Riese-Moraine: a casualty of social estrangement, strng hlkngtn, Reading Massive, g-kit, Trayce, C J, Ronan, RJG, and Hurting.

OK, I just listened to mark p's and I'm no longer sure if I do want one.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Jaymc's is quite sad.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Mark P's is great!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:48 (nineteen years ago) link

And true. I could eat him with a fork.

I don't really understand Jimmy The Mod's.

I suppose a whole CD of these one after the other would be pretty good.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Do I have to slip someone a crisp $20 to get one? Do I?

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:52 (nineteen years ago) link

I'd like mine to be really sexxxy, like Prince.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:52 (nineteen years ago) link

Also I'd like mine to be all "Carmina Burana".

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Cause that would be Orffsome.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 19 August 2005 15:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Friday, 19 August 2005 16:00 (nineteen years ago) link

I don't have the profile of prolificacy of other ILX posters, but I have been in the market for a jingle. And the price seems to be right.

BanjoMania (Brilhante), Friday, 19 August 2005 16:00 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm quite excited. I wonder what my "ILX posts, handle, habits, personality, and any other relevant elements of your public ILX interaction" are?

Dear all:

Jinglesource is staffed by some of the finest jingle artists available on this planet. Many of them have even worked for advertising and television stations, in the former Soviet republics. Each of them has decided to turn his or her back on the jingle-industry limelight and live here in seclusion, beneath the grand Pacific Ocean, writing jingles for you. You will understand if they decline to be identified by name. Take only from them their most inspirational jingle to date:

The Reading Massive product is a sprightly triple-jingle, with one verse applicable to each of the three Reading residents mentioned. You are in there. Get off my jingle-jock.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Monday, 22 August 2005 14:37 (nineteen years ago) link

This is all going to see official release at some point, surely. The world demands it.

Dearest Homosexual: On behalf of Jinglesource and the Jinglesource Reception Staff, I would like to apologize for our error. Rest assured that the responsible party has been terminated and pumped via airlock out of Jinglesource's underwater bubble dome headquarters, to rest forever in the darkness of the deepest Pacific, his flesh and bones gnawed upon by bioluminescent monsters of the deep.

Dearest Mark: We hope that your feelings were not hurt by our very unprofessional joke. If you are unsatisfied by your role in the "Reading Massive" jingle, please let us know, and we will issue a gift card redeemable for one free jingle consultation and promotional Jinglesource "Dimples the Jinglechimp" plush doll (subject to availability).

Dear all: All further communications (excepting official requests) may be directed to the Jinglesource team via the following e-mail address:

"Dimples the Jinglechimp".

The Ronan one is pretty amazing.

I was listening to a bunch of these right now, and then, quite coincidentally, my iTunes jumped to "Milkman" by Aphex Twin. It seemed not entirely out of line.

I'm afraid I am going to have to request that the Garu G jingle be taken down temporarily. As some of you already know, his grandmother passed away during the early hours of this morning. We are all quite shocked by this news, and feel maybe the lyrics to the Garu G jingle are a touch inappropriate. Of course, we do not blame Jinglesource as they could not have predicted this tragedy, yet we do suggest maybe as a gesture to Garu that a tribute to Meryl G is made instead.

On behalf of Garu, many thanks.

On behalf of our staff, I'd like to ask that those of you who think you know the identities of Jinglesource employees please keep this thread clear of hinting, speculation, and the like. Is it not enough that these fine people have dedicated their lives to providing high-quality jingles for you, gratis? Must they also be dragged into the light, subjected to your poking and prodding and evaluation? Leave them be, friends, leave them be.

:-D

Wow. This is really amazing stuff. I'm in love with Hurting's, Kate's and GARU's jingles (and aside from heavily lurking I don't even really *know* them :-)).
Listening to all these in a row gives me a Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs feeling. 'Cause obviously, these all are really just plain, gorgeous love songs.

And perhaps for a first as a lurker, I'd like to aply for a jingle, if that at all is possible.

Gerard (Gerard), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 23:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh Jingler! Wow!

I'm afraid you already have too many requests than you can handle, but I would like to request one on my husband Scott Seward's behalf anyway.

Then if you have time one for me, Maria :D, or actually not for me but for the nascent radio station I'm trying to start, WVVY, that would be grand. Your rules expressly stipulate noncommercial use. I assure you that WVVY would never *ever* use the jingle except for noncommercial purposes, like raising money. As WVVY is not a person or a poster on ILX, perhaps this request does not qualify. If it doesn't, then I would love one for myself, the person Maria :D

I'm really loving listening to them. Your underwater studio must be sweet!

Maria :D (Maria D.), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 01:02 (nineteen years ago) link

Dearest Homosexual II: Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies, even as another valuable member of our staff is launched via airlock into the briny deep. That's two down and fourteen to go. Thankfully, our Jazz-Themed Jingle specialist is working late this evening, and was able to whip up a jingle, with apologies, just for you.

Homosexual II

Dear all: Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have shared them with the Jinglesource staff and they are highly appreciated. I believe the boost to their morale will result in even finer jingles in future. The list of jingle requests is, as you can all see, quite long, but we will work steadily toward honoring all requests. Check back often, and thank you for your patience.

You may feel free to request further jingles, but I'm sorry to announce that fulfillment of new requests cannot be guaranteed. Dearest Anna: I'm sure whoever you think it is is way too cool to waste his or her time at the bottom of the Pacific, writing jingles.

Dearest Fetchboy: The third line of your jingle is "a book-pulping hermit." Our reference librarian informs me that this is a reference to someone named Horrible, or Horrable, or Hrabal, or something. I should also take this opportunity to answer a previous lyric question. The first line of Anthony Easton's jingle is "the pinkest of the meeses."

Dearest all: We apologize for not providing further jingles today. The Jinglesource staff was given leave to celebrate Plankton Day, a popular Pacific holiday. They are currently sleeping it off. More fine products coming soon.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 25 August 2005 18:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I now wish I had just let the rumors perpetuate, but I didn't ask for one because:
a. as noted above, I have had technical problems (no music at work, internet at home broken) which kept me from being able to listen to these, so I thought it would be dumb to ask for a jingle I couldn't listen to, and
b. the line got really long really fast, and I am impatient.

BUT!
I am now officially requesting a jingle. SIGN ME UP.

i reckon Jinglesource is gonna STORM up the ILX Audioscrobbler charts.

In a nailbiter, the new Rachel Stevens just barely edges out Jinglesource's "Official Ronan Entry Theme" on the new weekly tracks chart. "Adam in Real Life" also finishes in the top 10. Further down, amidst all the new Broken Social Scene and Kanye West tracks, "I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel / Kate" is at #28; "jaymc" and "Reading Massive" are at #49; and "Hi I'm Jared Fogle" is at #64.

In addition, someone (who shall remain named Jimmy Tan) forgot to send in the check to our ISP, so they finally cut off our service, and we've been offline for the past few days. In the meantime, we've tried to steal time here and there to get started on the next batch of jingles, many of which are already complete. Look forward to a weekend mega-post.

We can't apologize enough for the delay. It's just that ... well, the infection got worse, and I'm sad to say the octopus wasn't doing very well, and nobody goes on forever, I'm not going to go on forever, you're not going to go on forever, and now the octopus has passed away. I would have posted a thread about it, but the last thing the octopus told me was "Don't bother ILX, they're enjoying their weekend. They're busy, don't spoil the weekend for them." The service was wonderful, though, very well-attended, and the pastor spoke beautifully. Like a friend. The food the first night wasn't so good, it was just deli, but after that people brought things over, and it was all delicious -- we still have some in the fridge.

As far as PayPal goes, surely you jest! I can't imagine why anyone would send us money. If anyone is seriously dying to give me stuff, I'll happily set up an account, but I think you're just being silly.

I meant to as well, but I am terrible about remembering that sort of thing.

Mark, I think I have most of the jingles on my computer at home, I could do a ysi or something if you'd like.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:27 (nineteen years ago) link

I was waiting for the eventual CD release -- didn't JJJ mutter something about that? But a YSI would be spiff.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:28 (nineteen years ago) link

I KNOW WHO IT IS....HEHEHE.

Lupton Pitman (Chris V), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:35 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm trying to just appreciate JJJ for what he did do instead of what he didn't do. He momentarily restored my love of the interweb.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:39 (nineteen years ago) link

When I last saw RJG in person we both thought it was the same person. I keep meaning to email him too. If he is actually JJJ.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:40 (nineteen years ago) link

Haha. And he IS a tease!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:48 (nineteen years ago) link

ach, it was only that Amber and Alice was one of the next ups.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe, like Frosty the Snowman, he'll be back again some day.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 16:16 (nineteen years ago) link

i seriously doubt Frosty ever came back, by the way. there's no way he'd survive the summer. think about it.

g-kit (g-kit), Saturday, 24 September 2005 07:57 (nineteen years ago) link

I was only 9 away from getting a jingle as well :( Perhaps having to encapsulate Ned in song was all too much for JJJ.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 September 2005 08:41 (nineteen years ago) link

Did anyone ever archive these?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 25 September 2005 14:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Perhaps having to encapsulate Ned in song was all too much for JJJ.

It was an overwhelming feat.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 September 2005 15:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I can't apologize enough for the delay. After the octopus passed, everything went downhill. It can get a little hectic down here. We're doing out best to provide all promised jingles. In the meantime, here's the full jinglesource archive.

what did you want, rock hardy? something more descriptive?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 26 September 2005 01:37 (nineteen years ago) link

You know, I never listened to any of the jingles before tonight but what strikes me about them is that they're a vote of confidence in every one of the subjects, even in some tiny way. Bravo.

Laurel, Monday, 26 September 2005 02:12 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, I guess so. I liked the music, but I was disappointed by lack of lyrics. You're right, I'm ungrateful. (xp)

haha that other Nick is faster than me.

nickalicious, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:06 (seventeen years ago) link

'adam in real life' is genius because it sounds like it'd be the theme tune to a cartoon

homosexual II, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:08 (seventeen years ago) link

Adam in Real Life is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Listening to these again, I realize that I've had Ian Riese-Moraine's tune in my head for ages, but did not know what it was.

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:08 (seventeen years ago) link

Kate's is great, too!

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:09 (seventeen years ago) link

I just took these off my ipod this morning, they were popping up too often. Need a break.

n/a, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:12 (seventeen years ago) link

No wait I got them confused, I'm High, Jared Fogle is the one I'm thinking of.

OMG. I FORGOT HOW FUNNY STRONGO'S IS.

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:17 (seventeen years ago) link

Jinglesource sounds kinda like Frank Zappa on Mandee's song.

nickalicious, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:18 (seventeen years ago) link

SO TALL...STRONGO

nickalicious, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

"he's...so tall"

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

i think my tune kind of gives away who jinglemeister is mostly in that he thinks i still live in greeley (which i havent in over 5 years).

homosexual II, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:25 (seventeen years ago) link

I smell a comeback.

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:28 (seventeen years ago) link

Has Jinglesource's identity been firmly established? I kinda hope not.

Casuistry, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 20:44 (seventeen years ago) link

^^No.

Also, Nijoli and I listened to all of these jingles together yesterday morning. We loled at "The Original Jimmy the Mod".

Ned's is completely and awesomely weird, by the way. Like, why is he stuck down in a well and happy about it?! The well represents ILX, but is this appropriate?
