Wow, and I thought my friend was going nuts about this. He keeps trying to get me to buy the rereleased versions of their albums so he can copy the bonus tracks.

mike h. (mike h.), Monday, 28 February 2005 21:22 (twenty years ago)

Remember that episode of Futurama where Fry makes a Lucy Liu ladytron? That one was funny.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 28 February 2005 21:24 (twenty years ago)

The "Sugar" single was not good at all. It was like they tried to add a garage rock element to their sound.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 04:57 (twenty years ago)

THE ALBUM'S POSSIBLE NAME IS 'ANTIMUSIC'

I CAN'T HARDLY WAIT.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 07:40 (twenty years ago)

I was pretty not excited about this until I saw that pic and remembered that yes, Ladytron.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 08:36 (twenty years ago)

I like ladytron but it's embarrassing cause they're already sort've a relic (of, what, 2001?). I like them live and I usually hate almost everything live.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

i like 'Sugar', their cover of Tweet proves they can do electro-garagerock pretty well. looking forward to album, videos, tour, a DVD?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

I like Ladytron a lot (also esp live) but I too am stuggling to see how they can produce something that sounds like it belongs in 2005. Look forward to hearing them attempt it though.

frankiemachine, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 11:46 (twenty years ago)

surely the whole point was that their stuff all sounded like it belonged in 1981 anyway?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

The premise is probably that 1981 belonged in 2001 while 2005 is all 1979, or something.

OleM (OleM), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 12:04 (twenty years ago)

it should be like 1985 - big SlyFox/Jellybean-style crashing resonant snares, massive synth hooks, random burst of rock guitar, yes

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

Yes the time for revivals comes and goes also.

frankiemachine, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 12:34 (twenty years ago)

C'MON, LADYTRON OBSOLETHE IN 2005? BUNCH OF HIPSTERZ.

BY THE WAY, 'SUGAR' RULES, THIS NEXT ALBUM WILL MAKE ALL OF YOU MY BLOODY VALENTINE NERDZ DROOL

Mr Adolph bin Streisand (Mr_Adolph_bin_Streisand), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

Oh Lord Ned NOT to thread, unless he's a fan, and doesn't denegrate a groop I like while praising the Tron.

What is this about re-released albums w/ bonus tracks?

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

They were already available as B-sides and in Ladytron's 'rare' album.

God, if the new album has songs half as good as Oops oh my and sugar, this will be one of the years best rock albums.
\

Mr Adolph bin Streisand (Mr_Adolph_bin_Streisand), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

The premise is probably that 1981 belonged in 2001 while 2005 is all 1979, or something.

hahaha! 1975 is so 1998.

NRQ, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 15:34 (twenty years ago)

I hate no idea of/about Sugar at all, I am no kind of fan it seems BAH.

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

Alba (Alba), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:30 (twenty years ago)

Unless they've re-recorded it, I still think "Sugar" is below par for them. Especially for a single.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

Can someone YSI it?

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

"Sugar" = WOW.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:50 (twenty years ago)

Could you upload it?

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:55 (twenty years ago)

would I like Ladytron?

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:57 (twenty years ago)

Uh... maybe?

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:02 (twenty years ago)

It's on the YSI thread.

Also Adam, try "Seventeen" - I'm not sure if you would like it.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:02 (twenty years ago)

adam, i don't think so. i do like "seventeen" though.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:04 (twenty years ago)

I like Seventeen, but that's the only Ladytron song I know. And I think I prefer the Felix mix. I like her vocals on that track. Getting Sugar now...

xp oh okay

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:04 (twenty years ago)

"Seventeen" really crept up on me. I didn't really care about it at first, but after a few weeks I started listening to it on repeat while driving around. It became a little maniacal.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:07 (twenty years ago)

It works so well in Felix's Bugged Out mix. Actually WHAT a mix that is, I must dig it out.

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:08 (twenty years ago)

This song is really weird. Almost like pre-Bilinda MBV but with female vocals. The song itself sounds like a random Nuggets group take on "Hello, I Love You" with Kevin Shields adding texture.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:11 (twenty years ago)

i like that Felix song "Don't You Want Me".

jed_ (jed), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:12 (twenty years ago)

xpost, I was referring to "Sugar" btw.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:13 (twenty years ago)

it was in the charts at the same time as Oceanic's "Insanity".

xp

jed_ (jed), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:13 (twenty years ago)

Seventeen isn't that great! The first two albums have a lot of better songs.

DAEREST V1CE MAGAZINE!!!!! (ex machina), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:16 (twenty years ago)

The drums on "Sugar" remind me of Primal Scream's "Shoot Speed, Kill Light."

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:26 (twenty years ago)

I'm not too sure about Sugar. It's a pretty dense song. I can see it growing on my A LOT, however.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Monday, 13 June 2005 01:35 (twenty years ago)

DON'T HURT 'EM MABS!

MABS.LURVES.A2M, Monday, 13 June 2005 11:09 (twenty years ago)

Ladytron tracks that are better than 'Seventeen':

Playgirl
Discotraxx
The Way That I Found You
Commodore Rock
USA vs White Noise
Another Breakfast With You
He Took Her To A Movie
plus about 20 others

it was in the charts at the same time as Oceanic's "Insanity".

xp

actually 'Insanity' preceded 'Don't You Want Me' by about 12 months, at least in terms of when they first charted.

I can't listen at work. Any good?

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Friday, 1 July 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

Quite good, methinks. "Destroy" especially.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 1 July 2005 14:20 (twenty years ago)

How do they compare to Light & Magic (an album I was mad for when it came out but totally have cooled on it since)?

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Friday, 1 July 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

If anything, they sound less robotic now. The arrangements are a little warmer now (not a great deal, but comparatively... yes).

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 1 July 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

hmm. i can't open that zip. what program did you use to zip it?

the leglo (the leglo), Friday, 1 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

winzip... but yousendit renamed it after it was uploaded, and probably corrupted it. Let me try again.

I just clicked the link and it says it's still available.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Saturday, 2 July 2005 22:18 (twenty years ago)

the download worked but the downloaded file is empty, it says. I will try again.

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Saturday, 2 July 2005 22:21 (twenty years ago)

...and this time is fine, splendid

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Saturday, 2 July 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

This gets better on every listen. My fav now is "All the Way". If "Sugar" sounds like MBV, "All the Way" is totally SLOWDIVE, and in the best possible way!

daavid (daavid), Sunday, 3 July 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

When I first heard "Sugar" I had this bizarre idea that they were trying to turn into Jet or something but these concerns are long gone now, this is gorgeous heavy heavy twilight stuff. The twinkly bits that underscore "International Dateline" end up consuming you/it. They were always completely fantastic but now they seem to be 100% unclunky as well.

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Sunday, 3 July 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

"...always completely fantastic but now they seem to be 100% unclunky as well."

I couldn't agree with you more. My favorite of these has been changing everyday, but I keep coming back to "International Dateline." What a completely splendid song.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

"All The Way" is gorgeous.

kevin says relax (daddy warbuxx), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:10 (twenty years ago)

Could somebody please help me figure out what song(s) are similar sounding (the melody of the verse in particular) to "Sugar". I can't remember and it's bugging me.

daavid (daavid), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

BTW this was a bit of an excuse to revive this thread because people should be discussing the greatness of the new Ladytron.

daavid (daavid), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

well if we had a chance to hear it HINT HINT then maybe we could discuss it

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 8 July 2005 01:05 (twenty years ago)

wow i listened to the track fluxblog just posted ("destroy everything you touch"), and first two-three spins i wasn't really feeling it, so i moved on, and it just came up again on itunes, and WOW did that hook sneak up on me and grab me by the neck. perpetua's right, if this shit isnt a hit in the uk (or somewhere) there's something wrong with the world.

swvl (vozick), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 03:25 (twenty years ago)

It's in Ladytron's contract that their singles can only enter the charts between the numbers 41 and 48 before dropping out altogether.

A couple of you already know that I lost my job a few weeks ago.

I was working on a project that requires hard to get clearance, and I didn't get it. Basically, I was in a mental institution for a while in High School, and somehow they found out about it. It seems like bullshit that such a thing could keep me out, but those are the rules and there is nothing to be done about it.

They probably knew for some time, but they did not tell me until my contract lapsed so that I would complete the whole project.

Now, I have nothing. Nothing at all.

There is simply nothing for me to live for any more; no one here has no idea how much of my life I have spent merely scrambling to get out of a hole. It was hard work but I was slowly catching up to where a normal person should be, but I see now that I am only ultimately falling more and more behind each day. I have been looking for work the last three years as I worked on this, and found nothing, and I know now how futile my search is, and I have hated the jobs I have had anyhow. As for the rest of my life, it has never been anything but a complete wreck and I have no hope for the future.

There is more I want to say to a few of you, but maybe I have said too much already in the past and there is no going back now anyhow.

I have written notes to each of my family and to what few friends I have and left them with mailing instructions.

When I post this I will already be dying in an irrevocable manner.

It is sad that I will probably be missed here more than in real life, which is to say not at all.

I have much more to say but it's pointless.

Paul Banks,

Signing off ($812K)

get in the ILM chat and I'll hook you up.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Friday, 12 August 2005 05:18 (twenty years ago)

Very happy with this. I am hearing "Harmonium"/"Jenny Ondioline"-era Stereolab in lots of this (esp. "High Rise") but magnified to cartoonish levels of heaviosity. "AmTV" is Lightning Bolt playing the B-55's. I was baffled by the MBV comparisons in relation to "Sugar", but "White Light Generation" is totally "Soon" (although more "Nothing Natural" perhaps).

604 is kind of a benchmark-perfect record for me, and this is totally different to that, but there is this weird cloak of flawlessness wafting over the whole thing.

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Friday, 12 August 2005 12:29 (twenty years ago)

Leeeeeeee (Leee), Monday, 15 August 2005 02:50 (twenty years ago)

I can't say I'm disappointed but I think the best tracks were on the sampler. My favourite is still "All The Way" (I think it's even my favourite Ladytron song so far). But "White Light Generator" sounds like a bit of a mess to me. I'd prefer it if it had more structure. Still, there are a few nice surprises ("Soft Power", "High Rise"). I'm not very familiar with Light and Magic but this album feels very, very dark and ocasionally very cold too, which is part of what I expect from Ladytron.

daavid (daavid), Monday, 15 August 2005 03:28 (twenty years ago)

havent heard the album yet, but saw them at benicassim and they were just great...
second best concert of the festival. And they did a fantastic version of " destroy everything you touch" which already is in my top 5 ladytron tracks

Arnault (arc73hk), Monday, 15 August 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

i'm addicted to "international dateline".

Same here. When her voice goes up on "let's leave it here" - wow. Goosebump land.

There's such a constipated urge about the thread title that cracks me the fuck up everytime i see it in the thread list.

donut ferry (donut), Monday, 15 August 2005 19:42 (twenty years ago)

LOVING this record. Reverb on the vocals, overdriven guitars and the tremelo homage. Some of it makes me think of Siouxsie fronting the Jesus and Mary Chain!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

easily EASILY their best stuff isn't it?

the first 3 tracfks is some run.

piscesboy, Friday, 19 August 2005 15:22 (twenty years ago)

"High Rise" sounds a lot like the Jesus and Mary Chain's "The Living End"! This album is really amazing, and appeals to me almost directly. I hope they go even less robotic in the future.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

so i'm the only one disappointed in this then? :(

zappi (joni), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

Why are you sad that more people aren't disappointed. This is something about ILM I will never understand.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

no, i'm sad that i'm not enjoying it!

zappi (joni), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

Oh!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

Would context help? Are you a fan of Psychocandy?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

i was when i was 16, but i can't stand to hear jim reids moany voice nowadays!
the songs are good, i think its the production on the record i don't like.

zappi (joni), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Really? I love it. Sounds like classic Alan Moulder; fuzzy density but with coherent separation and some nice synthesized touches (did Moulder work on it I wonder?).

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

yes youre right, it DOES sound like a moulder production - i never liked that early 90s processed sound.
this is going to sound awesome live. oh and "beauty" is almost the same song as "destroy" which seems a bit pointless. "dateline" is great though.

zappi (joni), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

Well, Moulder also did a few important things during the mid to late 80s!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

xpost - See, it's not all bad!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

oh i dont think its bad, its just not living up to my ridiculously high expectations!

zappi (joni), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

AH I AM SEEING THEM ON FRIDAY

EEEEEEEE

Googley Asearch (Toaster), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 22:26 (twenty years ago)

saw them in edinburgh the other night. was all a bit underwhelming unfortunately. don't get me wrong - i do like a bit of 'tron, but the fact that the girls can't hold a note in a bucket and are a charisma free zone makes for a bit of a unengaging night out frankly.

i love the glacial edge on record but live it does nothing for me.

jilly, Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:00 (twenty years ago)

I thought charisma free was the point.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:02 (twenty years ago)

i wouldn't say so. glacial and detached is probably the intended point. nico for example would be entirely undemonstrative but somehow mesmirising. even kraftwerk were quite an intriguing visual proposition. more recently trish from broadcast and the girl from the shortwave set have managed to keep me transfixed whilst fundamentally doing nothing. it's just X factor i suppose, and at the gig i saw at least, the tron were losing my attention..

as i say i do like them though!

jilly, Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:24 (twenty years ago)

Points taken. Maybe the light show or sound was poor? I honestly don't even look at the band members themselves. Also, I think maybe they're making a transition from icy to glacial.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

Kraftwerk to MBV as it were.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

They are not suppoused to have charisma they are robots?

The Original Jimmy Mod: Waiting for the return of the Lohan's titties (The Famo, Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:31 (twenty years ago)

Robots can have lots of charisma: e.g. Bob from The Black Hole.

man alive i've only just got this. triffic. Destroy Everything You Touch is obsessing me as much as the current Rachel Stevens single.

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 09:41 (twenty years ago)

And it didn't make the top 40 again...

zeus (zeus), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 09:48 (twenty years ago)

so it was released as a single? really? i'd have loved to see that storming cd:uk

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 10:02 (twenty years ago)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 10:12 (twenty years ago)

i feel like such a loser for being so far behind all you hip ilm types. i be a victim of my own signal/noise ratio tolerance :-(

this is a great album - now i've finally got past just listening to the first 3 or 6 tracks on an endless loop until my brain melts

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 30 September 2005 13:08 (twenty years ago)

HOLLA! BEST ALBUM EVER, KILLAHS!

Haven't gotten past the first two tracks yet, but those are real good.

seven months pass...
so. despite everbody telling me i'd love it, i put off getting this for ages because i got so fucking sick of "seventeen" all those years ago.

FUCKING HELL, it's astonishing. i really would like to go back in time and re-do my 2005 end-of-year poll. i mean, it doesn't touch M83 (or meshuggah) but damn it's gorgeous.

i really should pay more attention sometimes.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

lol :)

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

one year passes...

Can we use this thread to anticipate their new new one Velocifero? I am thrilled.

baaderonixx, Monday, 11 February 2008 14:58 (eighteen years ago)

I think 'Witching Hour' will make it in my top 5 when I'll do my best of the 00s in a few years time.

baaderonixx, Monday, 11 February 2008 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...

So who else has heard Velocifero? I got it yesterday because I'm interviewing one of them later. Tbh I'm a bit of a Ladytron neophyte (I know, I know) but it sounds great.

Chris in Belfast, Thursday, 27 March 2008 09:37 (seventeen years ago)

just to play the game, no way this can be as classic as the last one.

Cosmo Vitelli, Thursday, 27 March 2008 09:46 (seventeen years ago)

Hopefully a return to the 80s electro style of the first two albums? Or another step in the same (wrong) direction as the third one?

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 27 March 2008 13:06 (seventeen years ago)

Interview went well, Daniel was thoroughly lovely and interesting to chat to. The new album is great btw, I listened to the closing track 'Versus' twice more after it finished. Just glorious.

Chris in Belfast, Thursday, 27 March 2008 20:43 (seventeen years ago)

For all of us normal people, one new song is up on their website. And it sounds amazing. It seems to be "another step in the same (great) direction as the third one"

baaderonixx, Monday, 31 March 2008 08:36 (seventeen years ago)

For first listen it's a bit like a song made by a Ladytron-imitating software... alas not THAT masterpiece... Hopefully there will be better ones on the album.

zeus, Monday, 31 March 2008 12:47 (seventeen years ago)

It seems to be "another step in the same (great) direction as the third one

Is this direction "Rock"?

daavid, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:53 (seventeen years ago)

for once i'm with geir

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

I liked the dark MBV vibe of "Witching Hour" but I went to see them live and it was a disaster. Mainly because the live drums made it sound more real and organic, which IMO is exactly the opposite of what Ladytron should be.

daavid, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 04:41 (seventeen years ago)

Is this direction "Rock"?

Yes, pretty much.

Chris in Belfast, Thursday, 3 April 2008 09:40 (seventeen years ago)

so sad you guys hating on their ice queen anthems. y'all are crazy not to want another Witching Hour.

Cosmo Vitelli, Thursday, 3 April 2008 09:52 (seventeen years ago)

I'm not hating.

Chris in Belfast, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:07 (seventeen years ago)

no i mean slocki and geir.

Cosmo Vitelli, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:11 (seventeen years ago)

Oh, OK sorry. I'll shut up now.

Chris in Belfast, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:14 (seventeen years ago)

I totally want another Witching Hour.

baaderonixx, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:24 (seventeen years ago)

never cared about their synth pop stuff

baaderonixx, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:25 (seventeen years ago)

'Soft Power' is pretty much my favorite song at this stage

baaderonixx, Thursday, 3 April 2008 10:26 (seventeen years ago)

heard "black cat". is awesome.

grimly fiendish, Monday, 7 April 2008 21:16 (seventeen years ago)

i'm waiting for the new the projects record with mira from ladytron on it instead. although the song they have on their myspace somehow sounds like really old school terminals and the bird nest roys. i'd actually rather have the old projects singer.

keythkeyth, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 01:49 (seventeen years ago)

I also acquired their remix of say hello, wave goodbye. which is well worth seeking out.

grimly fiendish, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 09:00 (seventeen years ago)

cosmo, do ya wants to go to the Fillmore show?

rogermexico., Wednesday, 9 April 2008 01:48 (seventeen years ago)

Unfortunately, I'm not hearing any great hooks yet on this one. There's no obvious single where the last record had at least three or four. Maybe it's grower.

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:42 (seventeen years ago)

Has it 1e4ked???

baaderonixx, Thursday, 10 April 2008 12:41 (seventeen years ago)

I heard a review copy a few days ago and I think it's probably floating around by now.

Spencer Chow, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:56 (seventeen years ago)

"Ghosts" is pretty awesome

baaderonixx, Saturday, 12 April 2008 07:53 (seventeen years ago)

but the rest is actually pretty disappointing so far

baaderonixx, Saturday, 12 April 2008 09:10 (seventeen years ago)

easy to google album title names + torrent = a winner

Alan, Saturday, 12 April 2008 10:42 (seventeen years ago)

Alright, I'm already warming up to this although it feels a bit like a step backwards. More 60's sweetness, less industrial frost

baaderonixx, Monday, 14 April 2008 07:52 (seventeen years ago)

Anyone interested in hearing the amazing "Ghosts" can check it out here: http://www.merryswankster.com/archives/2008/04/new_stuff_plus_1.html

baaderonixx, Monday, 14 April 2008 12:53 (seventeen years ago)

turns out it's the first single

baaderonixx, Monday, 14 April 2008 12:57 (seventeen years ago)

wow this is unexpectedly brilliant.

pisces, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 01:34 (seventeen years ago)

oh and yeah l£ak£d by the way.

pisces, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 01:34 (seventeen years ago)

this is exactly what i wanted it to be. The Lovers is a strike of lightning, that song. I was wary of seeing them live next month since I just saw them a few months ago, but now I'm thinking I shouldn't miss this. RogMex where you at?

Cosmo Vitelli, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 03:55 (seventeen years ago)

two months pass...

velocifero sucks

electricsound, Thursday, 10 July 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

boring, lifeless instead of menacing, severely lacking in tunes

electricsound, Thursday, 10 July 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

MORE FROST AND DEATH!

cecelia, Thursday, 10 July 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

not electronic enough

blueski, Thursday, 10 July 2008 10:10 (seventeen years ago)

...BEST IN THE WORLD...

I don't know what yooz guyz problem is. Its a strong disk, and the best tracks are among their best ever. They're a pop band that gives off serious vibes, like Siouxsie. Sub-zero Nauseaclash is being explored with great success by ADULT. "Ghosts" and "I'm Inclined to Vomit" are two of my favorite tracks of the last few years, tho' it's hard to believe the bands ever sounded similar.

bendy, Thursday, 10 July 2008 11:25 (seventeen years ago)

two years pass...

New single:

http://soundcloud.com/nettwerkmusicgroup/ladytron-ace-of-hz

Sounds like vintage Ladytron to me. Not earth-shattering but pleasant enough.
