....or so I've gathered from my 2 1/2 months visiting here.*

Fleetwood Mac
Public Enemy
Wu-Tang
MBV
Joy Division
Kate Bush

*Killing Joke officially disqualified.

PB, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:15 (twenty years ago)

I do not consent to Fleetwood Mac, Joy Division, or Kate Bush. Who is MBV?

Hurting (Hurting), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:18 (twenty years ago)

It's official. Every thread has been done before.

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:18 (twenty years ago)

haha

buck van smack (Buck Van Smack), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:19 (twenty years ago)

the magic tunnels

fact checking cuz (fcc), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:19 (twenty years ago)

This is a half-decent list insofar as all of these groups/artists seem much less contested here than the groups that usually appear in the lists (Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Junior Boys etc.). Perhaps because they are not recent?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

why would fleetwood mac even be SUGGESTED for this thread?

chris andrews (fraew), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

Oh, it's My Bloody Valentine. Right.

Hurting (Hurting), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:22 (twenty years ago)

Do you have to like the genre of the band/artist in order to have a valid objection to them?

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:23 (twenty years ago)

these seem, if not completely unassailable, then pretty close to it:

The Fall
My Bloody Valentine
Wu-Tang
Miles Davis
Sun Ra
Cocteau Twins
Can

i'm going to stop now. maybe kraftwerk. there's probably a lot more. a lot of jazz musicians are invincible... and strike public enemy. ugh.

It's official. Every thread has been done before.

hahahahha. things have been pretty grim lately. it's a shame, 2005 started off so hot. remember the amazon sale? damn. i think that's why people have been such asshole lately.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:24 (twenty years ago)

"stop being so asshole!!"

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:26 (twenty years ago)

surely Prince, if anyone.

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:27 (twenty years ago)

Steely Dan does rather well.

RS £aRue (rockist_scientist), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:27 (twenty years ago)

x-post

not for me. i've tried many times...

poortheatre (poortheatre), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:28 (twenty years ago)

to answer my own question: yes. cause otherwise I'd just shoot down any indie type band (and most rock in general, for that matter), and someone else would poo poo any funk, or hip hop, or free jazz, etc.

xpost ok i'll step up to the plate and smash The Fall and Steely Dan

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:29 (twenty years ago)

We're talking consensus, not necessarily unanimity. (I think the fall are overrated, and I don't really like Can either, but still. . .)

RS £aRue (rockist_scientist), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:30 (twenty years ago)

but my opinion counts as much as 100 others!!!!

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:31 (twenty years ago)

you're right, I was reaching...

Miles Davis

there.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:34 (twenty years ago)

This has been done ... isn't there a "find an artist that nobody on ILM hates" thread? And didn't XTC "win"?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:34 (twenty years ago)

Steely Dan are a howling vacuum of suck, and Fleetwood Mac doesn't really have much more going for them than Buckingham's songs on Tusk. I'll back the rest of the bands listed, but none of them really excite me at all (w/the possible exception of Cocteau Twins...possible exception only because they aren't, as an entity, inherently exciting per se).

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:36 (twenty years ago)

the only way you could possibly get unanimity would be by restricting the ballot to just those who are fans of a particular artist's genre. like, are there ANY hip hop lovers who don't like wu tang at all? funk lovers who don't like james brown? dub lovers who don't like king tubby?

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:36 (twenty years ago)

maybe, but i remember a thread called, "Someone explain why anyone would like XTC.." and there seemed to be a lot of corroboration.

speaking of which, i just sold five CDs today and picked up Drums and Wires.. it's fucking great! i def. need to explore this period a lot more... the eighties did strange things to bands.

What about T. Rex? there's lots of love for them around here...

poortheatre (poortheatre), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:39 (twenty years ago)

oh yea, xx-post.

and ()ops has the right idea.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:40 (twenty years ago)

ccr

Sym Sym (sym), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:42 (twenty years ago)

I've never seen any ill words concerning Kitchens of Distinction and, although a newcomer to this site, I proclaim my allegiance to their unassailable legacy!

Yngwie AlmsteenMay (sgertz), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:45 (twenty years ago)

funk lovers who don't like james brown?

is there anyone, period, besides maybe geir, who wouldn't give it up for jb?

fact checking cuz (fcc), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:46 (twenty years ago)

Steely Dan are a howling vacuum of suck

ILX will now self-destruct. We hope you have enjoyed your stay. Goodbye, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:46 (twenty years ago)

Wuat about Fundadelic? They have killer guitar riffs even....

absolutego (ex machina), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 03:47 (twenty years ago)

Killing Joke doesn't do too poorly...

Rarely do I see Sabbath ripped too harshly...

Bryan Moore (Bryan Moore), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 06:03 (twenty years ago)

No one hates Skip Spence.

Andrzej B. (Andrzej B.), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 06:15 (twenty years ago)

I've never seen an anti- World Domination Enterprises post.

And I've looked for one.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 07:34 (twenty years ago)

I don't think everyone here rates Fleetwood Mac. I know I certainly don't.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:11 (twenty years ago)

*Killing Joke officially disqualified.

Go blow yourself.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:12 (twenty years ago)

Fleetwood Mac
Public Enemy
Wu-Tang
MBV
Joy Division
Kate Bush

Only one of these receives my wholehearted approval - my opinions of the others range from bemused indifference to outright hostility.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

David Bowie
Brian Eno
Talking Heads
Captain Beefheart

Keith C (kcraw916), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:21 (twenty years ago)

Anyone not like Lee Perry?

NickB (NickB), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

Not everyone likes Captain Beefheart by any means.

They're all wrong obviously, but the fact remains nonetheless.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:28 (twenty years ago)

pet shop boys?

these threads are kind of annoying sometimes, it's like every time you suggest a band you throw up a delicate snowflake of hope and then somebody thinks it's a tennis ball and whacking it away makes them Andre Agassi when really it's no achievement to not like a band.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:31 (twenty years ago)

And as if to prove a point, I absolutely fookin' abhor the Pet Shop Boys!

NickB (NickB), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:33 (twenty years ago)

Fleetwood Mac
Public Enemy
Wu-Tang
MBV

I don't approve any of these.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

Annie!

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:36 (twenty years ago)

Kraftwerk is a good call btw. Never seen anything negative about Kraftwerk here.

And probably Bowie, although I doubt anyone here approves his entire output.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:37 (twenty years ago)

Funkadelic is probably closer than James Brown. I hate James Brown, while I find Funkadelic and Parliament the only decent non-fusion funk acts ever.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:38 (twenty years ago)

And, how about "Off The Wall"/"Thriller" era Michael Jackson?

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:40 (twenty years ago)

Nope. Never liked him.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:42 (twenty years ago)

Never seen anything negative about Kraftwerk here.

I've expressed frustration over them before re the simplistic monotony of T.E.E. and Radioactivity at times. Tombot made a good case for why Y.M.O. and Telex were often better...

Sven Basted (blueski), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:42 (twenty years ago)

Fleetwood Mac
Public Enemy
Wu-Tang
MBV
Joy Division
Kate Bush
Only one of these receives my wholehearted approval - my opinions of the others range from bemused indifference to outright hostility.

-- Stewart Osborne (stewart.osborn...) (webmail), April 6th, 2005 12:19 PM. (link)

Hmmm. Kate or Joy... Kate or Joy...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:43 (twenty years ago)

Telex? I mean, hmm.. While they are possibly the coolest band to have ever participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, I still don't see them having the same importance as Kraftwerk nor YMO.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:44 (twenty years ago)

Anyone dislike Human League or Scritti Politti here?

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:45 (twenty years ago)

It's not so much about importance Geir, there's consistency, excitement and other factors.

I like pretty much every artist mentioned on this thread though.

Sven Basted (blueski), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:45 (twenty years ago)

"Hmmm. Kate or Joy... Kate or Joy... "

I've never really understood what all the fuss is about Kate Bush.

She's just another customer in the local branch of Sainsburys as far as I'm concerned.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:46 (twenty years ago)

Have to admit I don't think Scritti Politti has aged well at all, though I bought into it pretty heavily in 1984/85.

m coleman (lovebug starski), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:59 (twenty years ago)

Pixies

57 7th (calstars), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

Ramones, possibly

jmeister (jmeister), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:17 (twenty years ago)

Don't Creedence Clearwater Revival win this thread every time it comes up?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:21 (twenty years ago)

The Bravery
Bright Eyes
Arcade Fire

the answer should be Talking Heads; or at least, if i found out that people on ILM didn't like them, i would hire someone to burn down their houses. the end result would be the same.

Lee F# (fsharp), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

i think the original list at the top is startingly accurate, and, as tim says dont have the detractor corner that jaxx, dizzee, m.i.a, annie, and daft punk have.

i'd go along with can, the fall, miles davis, steely dan, kraftwerk as well

in fact, ilm is quite 70s really isnt it?

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:36 (twenty years ago)

Creedence are terribly overrated.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:37 (twenty years ago)

i still haven't heard Arcade Fire and only one Bravery and Bright Eyes track so far - don't care for the latter at all based on what i've heard.

Sven Basted (blueski), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

Consensus on ILM? How dull is that?!

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:40 (twenty years ago)

The first band I thought of before seeing the list was Fleetwood Mac, since I haven't read one convincing reason why Buckingham-Nicks era Mac sucks other than posters still insisting that the band's L.A. cocaine cowboy image impairs their ability to enjoy their music.

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:42 (twenty years ago)

We're talking consensus, not necessarily unanimity.

If I could make that 72 pt font, red and flashing, I would.

The Ghost of For Fuck's Sake (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:44 (twenty years ago)

I think what is more likely to get universal approval here would be new romantic stuff from the 80s. It is disco enough to appear to the R&B fans, new wave enough to appear to the punkers, melodic enough to appear to people like me, plus it has the artistic ambitions needed to appeal to the rockists.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:50 (twenty years ago)

"people like me"

where?!

Lee F# (fsharp), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

Once we tried this on another board I visit, and eventually we figured out that Al Green was the only artist no one hated. And I think half of us couldn't name more than two Al Green songs anyhow.

And of the original list at the top, I don't have any strong objections to any of them, but I don't reallty know that much about Wu Tang or Kate Bush.

Lyra Jane (Lyra Jane), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

Well, I don't hate Al Green. I am indeed quite indifferent towards him though ;)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

Basically, if there are 100 regular posters and 99 of them like/love band X while 1 of them thinks that band X is the worst fucking thing on the planet and should be run over with steamrollers, band X still has consensus approval of the board.

Saying Linkin Park, The Killers or The Rapture have consensus approval would be silly because there is a sizable contingent that dislikes them, but very few of the bands listed on this thread so far are as divisive as those three. Hell, I would say Justin Timberlake is approaching consensus approval on ILM and we all know how much I love him.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

I've never seen an anti- World Domination Enterprises post.

Can I be the first? (Originators of the lamest, whitest LL Cool J cover ever, and their orig. "funk" tracks are grating + cloying)

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 13:29 (twenty years ago)

"Basically, if there are 100 regular posters and 99 of them like/love band X while 1 of them thinks that band X is the worst fucking thing on the planet and should be run over with steamrollers, band X still has consensus approval of the board."

That sounds worryingly democratic. Surely some level of adjustment needs to be made to reflect how often each poster posts and HOW LOUDLY THEY CAN SHOUT?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:30 (twenty years ago)

Boredoms.

Alex in TCBY (ex machina), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:32 (twenty years ago)

I'm not a big fan of any of the bands listed in the original post up top, but I guess I wouldn't say I hate them either. Are we just looking for bands that everyone tolerates?

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:37 (twenty years ago)

Haha Stewart!

The Ghost of PWNED (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

I am in favour of such a system - but then I can shout good 'n' loud, and sometimes do so with such effectiveness that I'm able to avoid making any sense at all!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

xpost...
Oh and how many LL Cool J covers have there been?

(The rest is your opinion)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:43 (twenty years ago)

Scruffy the Cat?

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Oh, I forgot fucking Pulp. They seem to receive lots of approval here, esp. in the Best of 1990s lists.

I put Fleetwood Mac up there b/c, well, I've yet to read one disparaging comment about them on the many threads they have on ILM.

I haven't read anything about CCR in any threads here, but if you ask me (and you probably don't care) I think -- in their prime -- they had the greatest run of singles this side of the Stones or the Beatles.

PB, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

Seriously, as far as I can tell everybody up on this board loves the fcuk out of Yes except for precisely three people- one recently repatriated Nashville cat, one guy who took his ID from a famous art movement, and me.

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

If I could make that 72 pt font, red and flashing, I would.

I blame it on the schools.

RS £aRue (rockist_scientist), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

Yes hatah number 1 : Mark Grout

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

What do you think of Level 42 Mark?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 14:55 (twenty years ago)

We got ourselves a lot of mark grout and Stewart on ILM today. I think I remember the last time that happened- better back up your favorite threads!

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

Back in 1987 or so..

Person: "Oh you're a Bass player are you?"
Me: "Yeah"
Person: "Want to be Mark King, do you?"
Me: "Nope"
Person: "All bass players round here do."
Me: "Cheers then"

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:03 (twenty years ago)

Good use of "Cheers" to my Septic ears.

I missed my opportunity to say- oh yeah, and the Artist Alternately Known as Korg Traum, make that four!

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

"We got ourselves a lot of mark grout and Stewart on ILM today. I think I remember the last time that happened- better back up your favorite threads!"

We're kind of like matter and anti-matter; only I'm more sort of doesn't-matter....

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

I don't care for Yes.

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

Everyone around here seems to like Motorhead so that's my answer.

darin (darin), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

Pet Shop Boys = No motherfucking way.

the fucker that will burn you (sundar), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

Surely some level of adjustment needs to be made to reflect how often each poster posts and HOW LOUDLY THEY CAN SHOUT?

In which case I DEMAND THAT ALL RAP, CURRENT R&B AND JAMES BROWN ARE KEPT OFF THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

New Romantic is an embarrassment.

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

Avalanches
Boredoms
Kraftwerk

maybe.

seahorse genius (seahorse genius), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

I think I remember Slayer looking entirely unassailable here. Or maybe I'm thinking of Sabbath.

sleep (sleep), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

I'd be interested in hearing the thoughts of ILM's hiphop fans who don't approve of Wu-Tang Clan.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

I've never read anything here that disparaged Adam Ant... classic Adam Ant, at least. That said, I'm sure one or two people will chime in that they hate him in an effort to create a consensus.

Yeah (Brian Now!), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:42 (twenty years ago)

cmon, the avalanches? you gotta be kidding

i nominate:
skip james
king tubby

chris andrews (fraew), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

Adam Ant=Booooooring. 99 per cent image, 1 per cent music. At most. Extremely overrated.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

Anyone got a beef with Coltrane or Beethoven?

the fucker that will burn you (sundar), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Beethoven eats babies.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

(I personally have some love for every band in the original list FWIW).

the fucker that will burn you (sundar), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

Sundar, I believe a googler's championing of Coltrane over Jay-Z caused some people to run down the Trane a little bit, on a thread I will leave unlinked.

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

Correct answer: T-Rex

NickB (NickB), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

T.Rex=overrated. See my rather recent post in the T.Rex thread.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

I think I've said it before on a previous thread like this, but Duke Ellington is pretty much untouchable. I've never heard/read anyone, on ILM or anywhere else, say: "I hate the Duke!".

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

yeah me neither. it seems unfathomable. unless the person just abhors jazz in general.

()ops (()()ps), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

Duke Ellington is a bit meh. And Beethoven is a whining pompous drunk, get that shit off my turntable.

moley, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:08 (twenty years ago)

Bach got too cocky at the Source awards.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:11 (twenty years ago)

Geir, I love you like an internet brother and all but hate James Brown? How do you do that? Just curious.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:19 (twenty years ago)

He's the original Oslo G, that's how.

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:21 (twenty years ago)

hall & oates

6335, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:09 (twenty years ago)

Any objections to Cyndi Lauper?

walter kranz (walterkranz), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:34 (twenty years ago)

Duke Ellington is a bit meh.

I don't mind if you hate him but he isn't meh. He's one of America's best arrangers ever...

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:44 (twenty years ago)

now let's do "bands that appear to have Dissensus approval on ILM"

Sym Sym (sym), Thursday, 7 April 2005 00:20 (twenty years ago)

Fela Kuti, who doesn't like him?

jmeister (jmeister), Thursday, 7 April 2005 00:44 (twenty years ago)

a lot of schools do in fact teach that consensus requires unanimity, unless dissenters recuse themselves and compromise is reached

andrew s (andrew s), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:14 (twenty years ago)

I'm going to say what everyone's thinking: James Brown is too black for Geir.

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:20 (twenty years ago)

AC/DC anyone?

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:21 (twenty years ago)

Oh hell no. That voice is nails on a chalkboard.

()ops (()()ps), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:22 (twenty years ago)

forget james brown, HALL & OATES are too black for Geir!

()ops (()()ps), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:26 (twenty years ago)

haha!

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:27 (twenty years ago)

he's a bit swarthy that john oates one.

()ops (()()ps), Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

The Stooges?

Seuss, Thursday, 7 April 2005 01:57 (twenty years ago)

I think Sabbath is the right answer.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 7 April 2005 02:28 (twenty years ago)

I can't grasp the hatred being directed at Fleetwood Mac.
How can a forum that (apparently) loves the Cocteau Twins, ABBA, indie rawk and Nick Drake have issues with Fleetwood Mac?
That would be like hating Fairport Convention. Insane.

Lord Custos Omicron (Lord Custos Omicron), Thursday, 7 April 2005 06:21 (twenty years ago)

the Cocteau Twins, ABBA, indie rawk and Nick Drake

I think you have misjudged us.

Alex in TCBY (ex machina), Thursday, 7 April 2005 06:57 (twenty years ago)

C'mon TCBY, you have to love at least two of those things.
Oh, and can I get sprinkles on that? Thanks.

Lord Custos Omicron (Lord Custos Omicron), Thursday, 7 April 2005 07:06 (twenty years ago)

Priest came off rather well on this thread: Which Judas Priest song rules the most?

M Carty (mj_c), Thursday, 7 April 2005 08:00 (twenty years ago)

HALL & OATES are too black for Geir!

Hall & Oates are actually great. Mixing those R&B elements with a certain melodic element, which made them great.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 7 April 2005 08:50 (twenty years ago)

The Shangri-Las should get a mention, shouldn't they? They did well in the last thread like this one.

Billy Pilgrim (Billy Pilgrim), Thursday, 7 April 2005 11:01 (twenty years ago)

seems everyone's always summoning Momus. does he have consensus approval?

AaronK (AaronK), Thursday, 7 April 2005 11:52 (twenty years ago)

I doubt it. Just take a look at the post-structuralism thread on the other board. Or practically any other thread for that matter.

Ken L (Ken L), Thursday, 7 April 2005 12:26 (twenty years ago)
