Marissa Marchant has another stage name now.
She is someone you will never find on the net.
You never her.
I write in different languages. The music you heard is not what I am all about.
It is very little.
I resent being analyzed.
alot of you and the people who are running Google are on a powertrip.
I just want to do music for people who don't analyze it, but just enjoy it.
I am moving right now.
I am moving to a nice house on a lake and awaiting my Avalon 747 which should be here soon. I am in a place where I can't record. It is very noisy. That is why I have to move.
People are just sitting back, smug and analyzing and correcting me...with no knowledge of what I know or what I am doing.
I am not here for people to judge. I am not a little girl. I do know that men enjoy picking on women like they are little girls who need to be corrected...but I am not interested in this game anymore. I don't care if some of you will never find me.
You don't post really nice comments and there always has to be some kind of negative stick.

I don't need fame. the majors and corps don't want ME to be famous and they like insulting me in the google search by making everything turn up negative. but these are games from children. not for a grown adult.

Marissa hasa unique voice. Something the music industry isn't signing for the last 25 -30 years.
Marissa sings blues and r and b better then the people they signed right now, and writes it better.

She is also playing classical music and jazz, and doesn't fusion.

I was listening to oldies stations today.
The music was great sometimes.

They had great people with great voices.
They , the corps and music industry are purposely not signing people like Marissa.
They don't want anyone with that level of talent to be famous. They are doing it on purpose. Not by accident. This is planned out.
On classic rock stations today, all the men do is play one male band after an other and make it out that women don't exist.

This isn't right.
Go on the internet.

You can tell that there are female composer, writers, arranger and producers.
They play serious music.
There are many hot female composers.

When Mark Grout said that I am not super great, he means that I am not like the male bands who have tons of back up and tons of help from each other.

It is difficult to find female instrumentalist. Men are always discouraging them and they don't answer ads.

But I still can't name one who was signed who does what I am doing. I am undique.

Yes, Buck I have noticed that too. The clothing stores are selling tackier and tackier jewelry, and tacky things that they never sold before.
Thing are really swinging low.

The music is very poor and annoying when I shop these days.
Once in a while I enjoy it.
People are in denial.
The clothing looks frumpy even in the most exclusive stores.
I went to a food store and they sell this snack food called "Girlfriend's Booty."

I never got to say on the last thread, because it got erased because I was posting with a weird address on a PC on which I was not logged into ILX, that: I thought some of the instrumentals, and the instrumental parts of some of the songs that I heard on the Marissa Marchant website, were pretty good. Not the greatest thing ever, but not just junk and certainly not talentless. (Just because something is quiet acoustic music doesn't necessarily make it bland.)

There has never been a person named Marissa Marchant. It was never her real name and now she has a new record company under a different name and making cds. She is getting a following under her new name. Wikipedia, yes beware of the lies on Wikipedia. It is run by porn addicts and people who like to demean composers. Marissa was and is a composer, with a new name.
She is not a singer/songwriter. She was composing classical music and some jazz fusion.
She did write songs, but the people know nothing about this person and nothing about music or anything. They are professional geeks. They are uneduated professional idiots.
Some of them might have been to college but their mind works on a very low level. If you read up on Wikipedia, you will find out that no one trusts it for truthful info and it is a source of controlling people and defaming people on the net.
This whole thing about Marissa Marchant was untrue. She did not sell Cd s for 1000 dollars or more.
And she is a winner, they are jealous of because they not professional at anything but posting lies on the net.

I tried (as I do occasionally) to search around the 'net to see if there is any trace of recent activity. Her stage names, her 'real' names, all to no avail.

The only thing I found was how she'd managed to get the internet archive site to destroy all the 'archived' versions of her websites from her database with threats of legal action etc.

Oh, and I did find her birthday, funnily enough.

But no, her email addresses are all deleted as well. She is truly off the net.

Clear Channel is selling their radio stations..the music on the radio is even worse. I am not interested in the commerical world..
and either are alot of people...
They are destitute. Who wants them stalking me why they count their pennies and abuse people who could have made them money.
??These people are broke..
People who mocked me on the net because I against people selling low quality to the public, have serious problems.
I am anti-establishment.
YOu people are conformist...jumping on any bandwagon...
and against me because I stand for something..and I received alot of abuse who think that this low quality should be acceptable.
I have made recording for the last two years...100 percent improved..and mastering them..
don't want to be famous for selling cds for 1000's of dollars.
I will be known for my music, not for selling cds at high prices.
This fixation with prices and not the quality of music, has basically turned me away from you people. My music is selling for 20 dollars..
I still dislike Banjos and Americana music and Americana bluegrass...
I like European folk music and other cultures other then English American. I do not fit into the matinstream mold...
which is stagnating.
They are constipated and going nowhere. I am also finishing school. I am so busy that I can't speak to you...I work 24 hours a day.

my music has been totally transformed from demos to professional cds and not for commerical purposes. I am interested in aesthetics.
Beauty. High quality. High levels of beauty.
I have worked myself to the bone on these recordings..which I am professionally mastering.

my message to you people is that you should go on the net and search for culture and beautiful music on a professional level.
i don't believe that most of the music in the commerical world passed 1975 was on a real professional level.
..or even tasteful.
there is so much music to listen to and it is not in the pop/rock genre.

I am not an amateur...the commerical world is now on an amateur level.

Even though some of the production isn't bad....my production right now is sometimes better then what they have ......
production level isn't the same thing as quality of writing...writing on a professional level or singing and arranging on a professional level.
My music is on a very high professional level right now...my production....arranging and writing....

my demos are no more....

yet there are many people on the net who are not doing mainstream music who are just as worth listening to as I am....
you only talk about commericalism which is amateur hour...

My classical music has been played on major classical music stations...

Most of my life hasn't been on the net...
Most of my life is working on my craft....
not toiling around nyc...

i studied Bel canto singing for 13 years...
and studied classical piano...and guitar...

and most of my life has been consisting of working on developing my skills.....
these raw demos on the net were not a good representation of what I am doing as a musician...or who I am.....
recording is extremely difficult...therefore...I do not have time to chat on boards.....

That article was extremely disrespectful....

I want to be left alone....

you can rant on boards if you have nothing to do with your time...
but I am too busy to insult celebrities....
if you call them real celebrities...

Anyway, Act 1: Marissa struggling musician started sellling her CDs for thousands of bucks on her website, arguing that just like any piece of art, she alone could decide how much she would sell her stuff. Internet frenzy and sarcasm incurs.

act 2: Marissa starts posting on ILX. ILXors debate as to how the handle the situation, either by humoring her or by trying not to encourage the whole situation.

Act 3. Marissa announces that she has changed her name and "is gone of the net" because of us. For a while, she reappears using various names and launching attack threads against Bela Fleck and various obscure session musos.

Act 4: Marissa is perma-banned and disappears for nearly a year

there are people who are famous in world music who are not commerical...
some of my music is world music fusion but it sounds pop....
some of it doesn't sound pop....but is strong and memorable....

It is very interesting that over the years, I have met soooooooooo many people who told me that I will never be anything....

so many people putting me down...saying that I can do anything right....
and low and behold, the radio is not void of talented people....
because so many people wish talented people would be nothing...

I don't want to be known as Marissa marchant..
the reason is ...I told some people to "F" and I wasn't drinking.
I was just depressed. My parents were sick and it is long story...
I was not thinking clearly, and it is shame...but I will never give an interview to people in that state again...or to people I don't know. they could stick in words I didn't say...
I also don't want people to get the wrong impression about me.
Just because I was one way two years ago...doesn't mean that I stay the same...
My life has changed. I couldn't record for years..and didn't live in the proper environment and needed to get a loan..
I wasn't living well...but now I am...
so my outlook and music has changed..

I don't want to be known as a person who tears down people in the industry...
I don't want to be known as someone who attacks flashes in a pan who's careers don't last....

He is one of these status seekers ..and people who seek to put other people down and marginalize them.
I met many people like this in NYC....etc...
The people are not opened, but very elitist....
so elitist in fact....just breathing their air, they will make you feel that you are not worthy...
He claimed he was a doctors son, and acted like I am nothing and he was mr. connected....
I make a bet MR. connected is making NO money.....
the kind of person who sneers at talented people, claiming that their money is supeior to your talents...Lot of folk like this in NYC....

So you have to protect yourself. That's true, but you still have to remain willing to take people at face value -- really trust them.

and he told me that I don't make anyone look pale....

His concentration was on my looks .....

the issue is that all these people are attempting to fool people..and I don't like their nepotism syndrome. The attitude is sick. All these people who run the music industry which is spiraling out of control into obvilion....have made the decision to not fund anyone.

They put out very little amounts of money for anyone.

Joachim was a guy i was attracted to and I didn't know he came from serious money.

We met on a boat. I was extremely attracted to him for years before we spoke. Joachim was attracted to me....but he was obsessed with status and money....

and he let me know that he was from the superior race straight up...had to let me know that he was never going to be interested in me.....because he came from serious money....
he was cold, snobby and stuck up.....
and claimed that he had connections to the music industry.....

He then was on my site...he observed that I am not rich...struggling..and with raw demo...and with alot of talent....

but he didn't care...I didn['t have enough photos...I couldn't buy press.....
I couldn't afford to pay people to play for me..and wasn't living well at that time....

He then found out that my parents were living in a city that is not rich.....
they moved there....

So rich Joachim put two and two together....
I can not be his lover, or his wife and that I am not good enough for him or in his league....

Duncan Sheik also was very unfriendly and comes from a crapload of money.....
his career has gone nowhere....and he is still trying to buy his career......

All the people who are rich in NYC support the rich and mediocre....or the rich who are horrible....
and less then mediocre.......

Their club has destroyed our culture....
We are not hearing talented people......

They are obsessed with money...status and where people's family come from.....

Every record company asked me the same question.........

who is your father...and we only take people who have something that is rich enough for our radio....

now they have nothing...because they have expected that everyone pay their way....................

our radio sounds like trash!!!

Joachim and people like himself see nothing special in people who have alot of talent and good looks.......
and that is why his band never became anything....and he is doing something else with his life to make money...............

he was a complete phony...................

IN the end...I will be famous..and have alot of status....
but Joachim didn't want to talk to me because I had no status......

None of these people are humble enough to associate with anyone who isn't rich.............

they fall in love with status.....not the person.................

it is very interesting that i have been insulted by many rich people in nyc.....

they go out of their way to imply that i can never be anything in music without being rich.....

i received a letter from Flecktones.com saying that they think that i will never be anything...and never become anything....

Duncan Sheik's crowd also....told me that I will never be anything.....

and they are in support of people who are rich only.....and they want duncan's sister to buy her career and she sounds like Britney Spears and is dressed like a hooker...

Duncan is very serious money and his whole family is pompous.....
they lack humility...they were also harassing me on the net....
In fact i think that most people who harassed me on the net were people who came from money.....

I think that the rich and untalented what to make claims on fame....

and they don't middle class or poor people to get any fame....

Joachim is part of this rich club is disturbed oppressors....

they wish to intimidate people who want to work themselves up from nothing....

Note; there was a time in our country when people could work their way up from nothing.....and they given opportunities....now the rich are fighting against people who want to work their up......
since they want to dominate in places where they don't have alot of talent.....

that is why the radio was so much better when rich people were funding poor people with talent.......
and not asking who their father is...........................

the reason so many people came against me on the net is this....
people are now against poor or middle class people working their up in any field...not just music....

The middle class are becoming poorer...

This is also political....
These rich people want to keep talented people out of the music industry and every industry....who are not born into money and priviledge.

I don't know....

Basically the music industry is a reflection on what is happening to our society in general...

People were once able to work themselve up from nothing....and now the rich and trying very hard to prevent this from happening...and to discourage people who are not priviledge from being ambitious.....
I have experienced alot of discouragement from rich people who are in support of other rich people who have paid for their careers...and experienced much opposition....
and they lie to cover their tracks....but they are protecting the rights of the rich and insult people who want to be something.....and weren't born into the right families....

Joachim didn't contact me one reason......
he has an exclusive club of rich people he only associates with.....
like most rich people in NYC....they do not associate with the poor..or middle class...
and don't want to be friends with them..or to hear their music.....

Most clubs in nyc are keeping young, or fresh talent out of clubs and catering to only rich people...that is fact....

I am going to be famous...
so I won't here talking...as I have alot of work to do....

the difference in not buying fame...
I was born with potential to succeed....
and have potential as an artist.....
I have developed this potential...
i work hard....

Meanwhile..I am about to finish my schooling and graduate...so I can make good money with a job ....I will be self-employed and make 75 to 100 dollars an hour with this job...

I was poor, living in a tiny little old house....

Now I live in a nice big house and it is nice..and have two acres of land...
and my car is still on the new side and nice....
the car is not important.....
but i live well.......
i have nice clothes and should be grateful....
I am not trying to become rich...
I live simply....
money and materialism is not the center of my life.....
friends and family are....and my music....
The car is really a hassel....
I think it is a hassel to try to keep up with the Jones...
and always worry if someone like Joachim is not going to approve of you.

But heck....I am bohemian...a musician, an artist....

I am happier then most people because I hear lovely music ...and new and fresh music.....

Rich people can buy fame, but then can't buy talent, brains, happiness...love..., songs, beautiful voices...friends..family, good music....etc....

they have fame and it is temporary....it is temporary because they have nothing that is lasting....
nothing that is that exceptional....

the money and status is temporary..

I hope Joachim has a steady job....because if he lives for managing bands....

he will not have steady income...or income at all....

One day, my fame...in the end..will hopefully sustain me....
I will compose till I die....

and take care of my voice...

my music will be lasting...

i want to get off the subject of looks...

Keith Emerson in Emerson Lake and Palmer is phenomenally talented as a pianist, organist, keyboardist, arranger...and accordian player...

the more I watch videos of ELP...the more I am impressed with Keith..
I don't want to insult anyone else in the band..they are all great...

Yet he really is outstanding as a pianist...
his improv abilities and interpretation of things is really cool!!!!!
i don't think he is really gorgeous, nor is he ugly...is o.k looking...
but not everyone has to be gorgeous...just great...

i also have been listening to several female virtuosos and composers....

two are awesome guitarist and virtuosos....
and some of the others play world instruments....

I don't just listen to men, but since this seems like a boys club...I don't want to upset you by letting you hear women who are phenomenal...since you are asking me about baby voices and women who are not serious musicians....

I am not just into the commerical world, yet I get some good things out of it if I can.
Mostly I listen to obscure people....

I actually go out of my way to support female composers, arrangers, singers..and instrumentalist of the rarist kind....

The commerical world doesn't really promote women as serious artists....

but that doesn't stop me from being supportive of women that are incredible...

actually I think that men like joachim find women to make their bed and women who are not very ambitious...and people who never end up being much in life...except telling men how great they are....

Most men are into MEN......

and they talk incessantly about men's accomplishments and only interested in ONE SIDED relationships with women....
where the woman makes the man's bed...cooks...and doesn't threaten his ego by becoming too much more successful then he is.....

they are an obsessive and emotion sign....

I am libra/scorpio...

before I realized that I was a cusp sign...
i didn't believe in the zodiac...

I have a hyper-libido...

I can not stalk him from where I live, which is five hours from his home.

I do not call him...

I have been into my music for a year and a half..recording....
and I should attended to this before...because now i could have lost him forever.

Joachim wrote all this passionate poetry here..and left clues within the context that he was the person who wrote it....

I met Joachim a few years back in nyc, while i was living there....
he was very interested in me....
and he too was obsessed...with my website....

and he was an exceptional man in reality....

He was an exceptionally sweet and sensitive man....

He wasn't just some guy.....

Joachim had some problems...

he told me that his parents had cancer....
and that he was taking care of them.....

he had some serious problems...and I don't know if the story was true....
but Joachim was suffereing from serious depression....and was not contacting me normally....
but he did contact. me....more then once of a few years.....

I am ten....you know why.....

When I first laid eyes on Joachim....

Something came over us..that evening....

it didn't end there.....
In the Village Voice i started to suspect that he might be leaving romantic poetry for me...

because it fit in to what was happening with me and him...
yet, I am more sure that Bill Shakespeare on here...was in fact Joachim.....

I don't want to mention his name...but I leave you with an answer....

A man who has writing me off and on for a few years...is more talented then Bela Fleck...yet isn't interested in commerical fame...
he is interested in aesthetics...

He is famous in his genre....yet happy to create beauty...
and is not obsessed with money. He is not a phony....

He invited me to his festival in Chicago...their band was the highlight of the festival...with another band...
the big show...on Saturday...
their band is exceptional....fantastic if you value beauty....

The reason he has been writing me...and perhaps Joachim has not...
I am not sure...
but I know this multi instrumentalist/vocalist is a man who is mature in his mind, and interested in beauty and culture...
He puts on no airs or very little...
He called me beautiful, sexy and talented, numbers of times through email and through the phone....
he is european...French....
He is not over-taken with emotions as the libra/scorpio...he is a virgo....

I did go on with my life, because I see very little hope involving you Joachim.
You are too distant, too cryptic...

This other man, has said that he wants to meet more then once...
he is exceptionally gifted...and famous in world music....

Now Bela is not more talented then this man....

just because someone is more famous, doesn't make them more talented...

I also think this man is more intelligent...
