what about splicing a cell headset cord in with a regular 1/8" cord, then plugging into the mic port on your computer?

kingfish kuribo's shoe (kingfish 2.0), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 22:53 (twenty years ago)

call your cellphone from another phone w/a louder speaker phone (or something w/a mic input) and sign into your answering machine from there. record. presto

jaxon (jaxon), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 22:55 (twenty years ago)

I can record it from my radio station's studio, if you like.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 22:58 (twenty years ago)

howell huser (chaki), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 23:36 (twenty years ago)

I've got one more traffic report to record. Try to get 'em up a little bit after six CST.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 23:39 (twenty years ago)

what's the total runtime on the messages? like 5:36 of crazed goodness, or much longer?

kingfish kuribo's shoe (kingfish 2.0), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 23:46 (twenty years ago)

they go on forever

howell huser (chaki), Wednesday, 18 January 2006 23:50 (twenty years ago)

Damn. Like seventeen minutes.

I'd split them up, but hearing them all at once was much more effective.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 19 January 2006 00:10 (twenty years ago)

are we going to ysi them?

what marissa's tragic flaw is that she does not understand that only in the world of VISUAL art can you charge exorbitant prices for your homemade braincrappings.

hasa anyone to date heard any mm tracks? will they YSI them? i would like to hear some of this TALENTED WOMAN singing songs she wrote through HARD WORK.

re: "emu"...

i wish she sang better so i could understand the words!!

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Thursday, 19 January 2006 01:42 (twenty years ago)

Ladies and gentlemen, Mariesa Sabriel and "Emu"

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 19 January 2006 01:42 (twenty years ago)

I thought about blurring it, but I hate it when they do that on "COPS". Someone really going to call that garden nursery across the street from the drug bust?

And if this guy doesn't care, why should she.

(Feel free to call me at (501) 433-1037 to talk about this further.)

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 19 January 2006 03:05 (twenty years ago)

feel free to ask pp for my secret voicemail code while youre at it

howell huser (chaki), Thursday, 19 January 2006 03:11 (twenty years ago)

I am seriously moved by those two songs. I had no idea ...

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 19 January 2006 03:12 (twenty years ago)

Tim is right on. Though I do think she hits the notes flat sometimes, she hits them precisely the same amount flat every time -- she's not making any mistakes.

"it's sun"
http://s64.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3427LWQLPIG5C1PYD4UDZU5F82

"el". a duet. listen to those harmonies. you really have to wonder what is going through that guy's head. at times I've been convinced that she's singing along to someone else's record, but I no longer think that.

NEVER FORGET

elmo, patron saint of nausea (allocryptic), Thursday, 19 January 2006 03:20 (twenty years ago)

The tonality of the duet seems perfectly straightforward to me.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 19 January 2006 04:22 (twenty years ago)

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 19 January 2006 04:41 (twenty years ago)

This is the self-interview, which is a world unto itself (I think we've used five or six phrases from this on ILX ever since).

The genius of our times.

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Thursday, 19 January 2006 05:24 (twenty years ago)

"thank you chris ott"

'emu' and 'it's sun' were the ILM favorites, so those were the only two people saved from her 'poems' page

I think the duet is a cover, it's interesting hearing her sing a straight harmony after her originals. you have to admit though, even here her high notes are kinda special, this is the subtle one that helps me get the others

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 19 January 2006 05:27 (twenty years ago)

I legitimately adore "For You."

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Thursday, 19 January 2006 05:29 (twenty years ago)

"its all a conspiracy. and bullcrap."

i like her speaking voice.

latebloomer: virtuous, pure and masculine like only an American male can be (lat, Thursday, 19 January 2006 11:04 (twenty years ago)

She is the lilith fair antiorp.

I have a few of her mp3s somewhere, I think they're OK, a couple of them I think are good.

I did have that self interview thing, but it was so batshit insane that I couldn't listen to it all the way through. It actually made me feel really bad, listening to it.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 19 January 2006 12:16 (twenty years ago)

I listened to the first one, she rambles on as much irl as she does online. She has a pleasant, harmonious speaking voice. She needs mental help, really, doesn't she?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 19 January 2006 12:22 (twenty years ago)

WTF aspect to listening to her stuff, it's just that I've never heard melodies like these before anywhere, & I listen to a lot of music

"Emu" is, well, to be honest it's fucking terrible. However it isn't 1,000,000 miles removed from some stuff I have by the art bears or that "camera" TV opera that Dag Krause sang on. Tonally/harmonically very harsh. The other stuff I have by her is more like lo-fi kate bush/tori.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 19 January 2006 12:31 (twenty years ago)

"Justin Hayward is part of the anti-talent movement."

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Thursday, 19 January 2006 13:48 (twenty years ago)

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 19 January 2006 15:16 (twenty years ago)

Hahaha wait, people STILL hadn't heard "Emu"?????

Dan (A WISHY-POOOOOOOOO) Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 January 2006 15:39 (twenty years ago)

She sounds like the loneliest person on the planet. Poor Marissa.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 19 January 2006 22:11 (twenty years ago)

I think she really needs help, but is so massively altered right now that any attempt to converse with her about anything at all is perceived as just more persecuting oppression.

kingfish kuribo's shoe (kingfish 2.0), Thursday, 19 January 2006 22:31 (twenty years ago)

I had a really weird feeling last night sitting in the studio, listening to this woman talking about this conspiracy acting against her as I recorded her pre-dawn ramblings for distribution on the internet.

I got over it.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 19 January 2006 22:42 (twenty years ago)

I'd like to think that I'm part of a conspiracy that's acting for her.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 19 January 2006 22:43 (twenty years ago)

admit it, you're just bullying the village idiot

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 19 January 2006 22:59 (twenty years ago)

Which is illegal.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 19 January 2006 23:55 (twenty years ago)

don't give a damn whether you have millions of dollars ....
This country sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
U.K sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You just wanted to flirt and play head games, and now that you can't you are not talking anymore.
typical of an british alien that fits right in the usa.
And another thing is....
I am sick of hearing English words...pursed lips...passionless kisses.
I thought there was something wrong with me, but now I totally realize that I don't fit in this country.
Not because of my nationality...
which you don't know, I have 1/16th english blood.
I didn't feel happy about it.

Oh no, I can't. Her order form has "po box coming soon" as part of the address. Might be worth mentioning to her, Milton.
