God I haven't had a slawdog in a long time

freedom coleslaw = even bettah!

Calum has been Google-proofed in that thread. Sadly, some of the swans had to go before I could save the edit.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 01:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

Sadly - right

James Blount (James Blount), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 01:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dan = Swan Killah!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 02:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

I don't see why everyone's so against getting rid of those swan pictures. One is pretty, several hundred are more than annoying. I, for one, find it very easy to skip over the stuff that Calum does, but it's more of a hassle to deal with the swans! I don't have any problem with you James B., but I think whatever it is you're trying to accomplish with the picture pollution couldn't be worth it. It's like you're covering your ears and shouting "LALALA" to not hear something that offends you, but in the process you're also shouting down all other conversation in the room.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 02:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

Im not against it, I just find amusement in your new role as SWAN KILLAH!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 02:46 (twenty-one years ago) link

if I'm not against it I can't imagine anyone else is

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 03:13 (twenty-one years ago) link

(in the interest of Dan P. not taking any flack (flak?) for my own less moderate preferences)

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 03:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

your forgetting the various 'alex in _____'s!

James Blount (James Blount), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 03:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

although they're actually pretty easy to keep seperate

James Blount (James Blount), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 03:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

The swan pics, remember, are a scrolling problem, not a page size problem. It's just the one little pic, which is loaded once, and printed over and over.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 03:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

How do you use extraordinary powers?? Like precognition & remote vewing? Cause I have both powers but dont know how to use them. And I cant cast any GOOD spells to move me frome place to place.

Shannon Nichole Keger, Wednesday, 23 April 2003 23:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

Would a moderator mind removing this post I made on the American Sports thread which contains a really stupid and pointless racist joke? It was made in the spirit of "hey let's be politically incorrect!" the thread momentarily took on, but is actually quite mean and I think would reflect badly on ILX for any newbies who happened upon it. Also I apologize to anyone who was offended by it (though I guess there's a whole other thread for that).

chester (synkro), Thursday, 24 April 2003 00:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think I know the one you mean, so I changed one of your posts, but I'm even kind of in the group you may have been worried about offending and I wasn't even offended. :) Sorry if I got the wrong one.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 24 April 2003 02:08 (twenty-one years ago) link

Can somebody delete the duplicate Nikki Taylor thread? It's hella-annoying.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 24 April 2003 13:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

Just curious... moderator type, could you please check if "Scott Kos" is really C*l*m?

I don't want to debate the issue any further. I find the thread creepy, but it's worrying me if this is either the work of C*l*m or the legacy of C*l*m.

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:46 (twenty-one years ago) link

ILX: Creepier every day!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:49 (twenty-one years ago) link

If it's just C*l*m trying to "rearrange our sensibilities" or whatever his excuse for his trolling is, then fair enough, whatever. What I'm worried about is that random new people will wander in, see the C*l*m threads, and think that *that* is what ILX is about, thus lowering the tone of the entire board and making it totally creepy and hostile towards women. One troll is easy enough to ignore, but a whole influx of new people who don't understand what it's all about is rather more worrying.

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-one years ago) link

there is no way that is calum

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

I don't think it is either, actually.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!

There's more than one of them, then? I'm feeling seriously creeped right now. Like I need a bath or something.

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 14:56 (twenty-one years ago) link

link?

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:01 (twenty-one years ago) link

it's the Nikki Taylor Girl thread.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

"Nikki Taylor Girl

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

That was the one, Felicity, thank you. Girlfriend (who is Korean) got mad over it, so she at least will be happy it's gone. I also agree that this place has had a stronger anti-social creep element recently and I didn't want to contribute to that. Plus leaving the beaneaters comment just makes me sound happy-stoner rather than Manson-stoner :)

chester (synkro), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

Was it necessary to delete the "Nikki Taylor Girl thread" after the poster in question had actually apologized? A thread containing the phrases "banal intercourse" and "masturbating geek" cannot be all bad.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:35 (twenty-one years ago) link

Upthread I asked for one of the threads to be deleted because the asshat had originally posted not one but *two* identical threads on this topic.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

- Offensive threads. At their discretion, moderators can delete entire threads which are likely to cause offence. It happens very rarely - threads which are racially or sexually abusive are the most likely. Even then moderators might not delete the thread, if an offensive question seems likely to provoke debate. If you find a thread offensive, please say on the thread or email a moderator about it.

I think that posting random rape fantasies to a public forum is pretty much the dictionary definition of sexually offensive. I didn't ask for the thread to be deleted, but I would defend the action as being within the realm of moderation.

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 15:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

BANAL INTERCOURSE GOES AWAY?! FUCKING A.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 16:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ally, the phrase remains as long as your libidinous imagination remains entact. ;-)

kate (suzy), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:09 (twenty-one years ago) link

Are you saying my fantasies are banal, kate? ;)

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:13 (twenty-one years ago) link

One 'b' away from the truth

buttch (Oops), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm not doing much to disprove your 'men are weird hornballs' theory, am I?

buttch (Oops), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'd say not too much

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ally, your *life* makes my fantasies look tame, so I shudder to think about your banal fantasies!

kate (suzy), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Bingo.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Right, which one of you bastards told Kate about the 12" limp cock story?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Stop bragging Miccio

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

Can some mod please add a 't' to this thread title: The Greates One Line in Hip Hop History (no rhymes allowed)

buttch (Oops), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:24 (twenty-one years ago) link

come now, that's part of its charm.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

I mean this person didn't even ask for an edit:

In this thread you can post someone you've done in the last month that you're proud of no matter how small.

(favorite typo ever)

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

Haha!
(But...please?)

buttch (Oops), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

NO.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

Just curious... moderator type, could you please check if "Scott Kos" is really C*l*m?

It doesn't appear that is his work via any address he has used before.

I didn't see the duplicate thread myself but wasn't about to delete the thread myself right away. Strongy to the creep side it was though.

We don't (or we aren't suppose to) fix typos. Now if you want Measter Bond in there I'll do that for you just to be fair.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 24 April 2003 17:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

But there's a reward in it for you!
