Average-ish review from The List. Though according to the crappy google map, it's situated in Neil's uncle's house, which would be handy, if true.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 20 October 2005 18:24 (nineteen years ago)

can we go dancing again soon?

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 20 October 2005 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

there's a greek food thread? and i'm missing it!?!?! bah!
looks like i'll also be missing fancy food fapping, as i'll be on a plane to the promised land... where the food is far superior! ha!
the south side greek place is disappointing. and TINY. unsuitable for fappage.
and um... the 'turkish version of kiss kiss' is the ORIGINAL FAR SUPERIOR version by TARKAN, Turkey's very own Michael Jackson! i have it on tape!
i love Turkey! mmmm. (not turkey tho, which makes the prospect of thanksgiving in america less exciting)
((apologies for the cross posts times 100, but i've been unable to post at work and was waiting all night to reply and.. yeah, i'm LAME))

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 20 October 2005 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

I've just been watching Alba's dad on the telly.

You might not get turkey for Thanksgiving in case it's been infected by bird flu (but you're a veggie anyway aren't you, so it's all academic).

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 20 October 2005 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

If you can drag your sorry Glasgow arses through to Paisley some time, I cannot recommend this place highly enough for future feeding extravaganzas.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 20 October 2005 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

we nearly moved to paisley a few years ago. raeburn's sounds cool. paisley FAP! then a saunter to feegie park with a big fucking chib. ROCK.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 20 October 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

dalry - saltcoats road FAP

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 20 October 2005 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

braidwoods is meant to be brilliant, yes. [reads] fuck me, it's got a michelin star! let's roll.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 20 October 2005 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

I can confirm, it's fantastic.

I went on an anniversary

ooh la la

we're not still together & I'm miserable

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 20 October 2005 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

Dang, that's the same night as Sleater Kinney. Maybe we can meet in the pub somewhere afterwards...

Stew (stew s), Thursday, 20 October 2005 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

Incidentally, when are we having an old-man-tastic-FAP in the Station Bar Cowcaddens as proposed way back in the mists of time?

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 20 October 2005 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

5013

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 20 October 2005 22:58 (nineteen years ago)

My little man says - dancing, yes.

Fuckin sweatball.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 20 October 2005 23:31 (nineteen years ago)

i wanna to go to Braidwoods and i wanna dance.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 20 October 2005 23:59 (nineteen years ago)

There's a restaurant in DALRY that has a Michelin star? Well fuck me. And to think I went to the bloody Dalgarven Mill that one time instead. Anyone fancy PayDayFAP tonight then?

stet (stet), Friday, 21 October 2005 00:05 (nineteen years ago)

on second thought: if it's that good, reservations could be hard to get. God, what a novel thought: an Ayrshire restaurant you can't just walk in to.

stet (stet), Friday, 21 October 2005 00:37 (nineteen years ago)

Another quote from Rumpie on the Greek Food thread: "I think my fussiness may make it difficult to consume anything" :)

Mr Ailsa is right, I should be able to get my arse in gear and organise this. I'll call today and provisionally book a table for 10 at the Kosh on the 11th and we can sort out numbers properly after that.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 21 October 2005 06:09 (nineteen years ago)

braidwoods would be too small for all of us I think and also too difficult to co-ordinate

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 21 October 2005 07:00 (nineteen years ago)

I wish I could have watched Alba's dad on the telly :-(

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 21 October 2005 07:23 (nineteen years ago)

You could listen to him on the radio instead if you like!

Alba (Alba), Friday, 21 October 2005 07:27 (nineteen years ago)

anyone know anyone

who teaches french lessons?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 21 October 2005 07:42 (nineteen years ago)

I just listened to him! I didn't realise it was him until they read the credits at the end. My poor Mum will never get to see/hear him. She's in Barbados at the moment.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 21 October 2005 08:04 (nineteen years ago)

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 21 October 2005 08:04 (nineteen years ago)

i was in the station bar last night. it was quiet but topp. quality guest ale, as usual.

i'd be up for fappery there any time (tho not tonite, stet: i'm going to teh gym, and have to set off at the crack of dawn tomorrow for this goddamn wedding).

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 21 October 2005 08:48 (nineteen years ago)

not impressed

c7n (Cozen), Friday, 21 October 2005 11:43 (nineteen years ago)

consolevania

c7n (Cozen), Friday, 21 October 2005 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

OK, Alba! Here goes!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 21 October 2005 11:57 (nineteen years ago)

That was lovely, Nick.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 21 October 2005 12:17 (nineteen years ago)

I would be well up for a PayDayFAP but unfortunately it is still ten days away from payday, so it won't be tonight. Instead I shall sit at home and do nowt. Now where's that "happy with your social life?" thread.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 21 October 2005 15:45 (nineteen years ago)

Also, I just work round the corner from you meeja types now, so any post-work old-man-tastic pint-drinking would be most welcome.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 21 October 2005 18:52 (nineteen years ago)

I second the post work old man Fap. Work at Skypark, so I can be at any of the meeja land boozers within twenty minutes. Being a temp every Friday is payday, so I'm flexible.

Stew (stew s), Friday, 21 October 2005 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yeah, I'm going to be an extra in a Belle & Seb BBC special. Anyone else joining in the twee fun?

Stew (stew s), Friday, 21 October 2005 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

I don't dress up on request

RJG (RJG), Friday, 21 October 2005 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

Look like you're from the 70s? Fuck that.

KeefW (kmw), Friday, 21 October 2005 19:38 (nineteen years ago)

cozen, what about isabelle?

I´m so annoyed to be missing alba´s dad.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

oh, I´ve just remembered she´s in leeds. never mind.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

try the south side less

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

I had a french tutor in glasgow for a while. His name was bertrand and he was belgian. He was really great. I think I´ve lost his phone number though. If you go into the modern languages building there will be lots of notices up about people giving french lessons, and much much cheaper than the alliance francaise.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

but grimly where was that? govan, govanhill, shawlands?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:18 (nineteen years ago)

Near that dodgy kebab shop you're forcing us to go to?

(Please tell everyone, for a laugh, that it was in Battlefield. The ironing, etc)

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:19 (nineteen years ago)

it was RIGHT OUTSIDE THE KEBAB SHOP IN BATTLEFIELD, yes!

(or is it langside? i've lived here for five years and nobody seems able to tell me where one starts and the other ends.)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:21 (nineteen years ago)

Langside is where the college is, Battlefield is where that daft wee restaurant on the traffic island is. They are across the road from each other though, and I have no idea where they extend to from there.

I was in Langside Jobcentre the other day, which is on Battlefield Road. And right between the college and the stupid wee restaurant. Perhaps it is the dividing point between Langside, Battlefield and whatever else is that way.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 21 October 2005 21:28 (nineteen years ago)

Auryn (Auryn), Sunday, 23 October 2005 00:21 (nineteen years ago)

c7n (Cozen), Sunday, 23 October 2005 07:23 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry to hear someone popped a cap in your bus Simon.

Dave D and I years ago decided we would like to go to work in one of these:

KeefW (kmw), Sunday, 23 October 2005 10:36 (nineteen years ago)

Ailsa, you can tell your other half that he is right, I am capable of organisation sometimes. I have booked a table for 10 at 8pm on 11th November. The list so far looks like this:

Me
Stet
Grimly Fiendish
Ally C
Ailsa
Mr Ailsa

Who else? I guess I can up the numbers if necessary, as long as I don't leave it too late. Any more takers?

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 25 October 2005 07:06 (nineteen years ago)

c7n

c7n (Cozen), Tuesday, 25 October 2005 07:21 (nineteen years ago)

Mr and Mrs Onimo are probables, we just need to arrange a babysitter.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 25 October 2005 07:37 (nineteen years ago)

Whereabouts is this taking place?
