I have just realised I have been merrily conflating Ess Kay and Eyeball Kicks in my brane for ages now despite their being not only different people but in different continents!

Who do you confuse nowadays?

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 23:46 (twenty-three years ago)

how many marks are there?

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:17 (twenty-three years ago)

sometimes i get mike (ro)b(o(tt)) and david (h)(o(w(i)e) confused (i like them both)

ge(et)a (geeta), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:29 (twenty-three years ago)

i get myself confused with all of you, constantly

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:44 (twenty-three years ago)

sometimes i confuse tracer hand for magnadoodle.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I get confused between Eyeball Kicks and his mother.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth and grahmeth

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 24 October 2002 03:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I definitely know Gareth and Graham apart, but yeah, for some reason I always read one name as the other.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Nitsuh, I get you mixed up with my husband.

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Rainy, I get you mixed up with a big dollop of sweet lemony pudding,

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah, before I met Gareth I got Gareth and Graham mixed up...

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:36 (twenty-three years ago)

it's easy to mix up Gareth and Graham. they both have hair.

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:41 (twenty-three years ago)

i get you all mixed up with the residents of a twee hellhole.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, and before I met Tracer, Tracer Hand and Trevor Horn; does he post here or is that just my imagination...?

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I get Jess mixed up with Gargamel.

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:48 (twenty-three years ago)

haha rainy i love you sometimes.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 04:51 (twenty-three years ago)

i get mixed up, period.

ron (ron), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Dom Passantino and dave q are linked for no particular reason.

Miss Laura, Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I mix up Toraneko and Kodanishi, which is why I thought Toraneko was a boy.

er, is Kodanishi a boy?

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 24 October 2002 08:03 (twenty-three years ago)

yes he is

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 24 October 2002 08:35 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s and mark p's names look the same and they both write in lower case. Ron and RJG share the same position in my brain.

Ms Laura reckoned I was Rebecca when she was guessing names at the last FAP. Make of this what you will.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:28 (twenty-three years ago)

*blush*
Anyone could have made the same mistake. It was the Angelica tshirt.
I'm so sorry. Do I win a cookie for gaffe of the evening?

Miss Laura, Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:55 (twenty-three years ago)

although I have met Starry I do sometimes think that Rainy might also be her, because their names both end in Y.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Tracer and Tad for ages, until the what do you all look like thread where there's a picture of Tracer. So now I imagine Tracer with dark hair (photo) and Tad with lighter brown hair (no rational reason).

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark Hester and David Howie for some reason.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Every time I see one of Gordon's posts, I don't remember writing it.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't worry DV, I sometimes think I'm a boy too.

toraneko (toraneko), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I get Lord Custos Alpha and Lord Custos Omega mixed up.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Ramosi and Dave Raposa. I mean Ra!

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Mu-Ra

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Thursday, 24 October 2002 15:18 (twenty-three years ago)

mum-ra?

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 15:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I confuse Jess with Simon Reynolds sometimes.

OH YOU WISH, Jess. ;-)

Paula (pwatson), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

?

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:31 (twenty-three years ago)

I know I'm not alone in having taken a little while to grasp that there was a Nicole and a Nichole.

I note that despite 'Mark Sinker' being pretty close to 'Martin Skidmore' nobody confuses me with him! I'd be flattered, but you'd have to apologise pretty humbly to Mark, obv.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 24 October 2002 19:14 (twenty-three years ago)

nobody?

Josh (Josh), Friday, 25 October 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)

woohoo! i have been confused with someone. i get nathalie mixed up with cuba libre mixed up with helen fordsdale mixed up with stevie nixed etc.

ron (ron), Friday, 25 October 2002 04:29 (twenty-three years ago)

DV, for you, I'll throw in more ellipses in future postings. And cuss a whole helluva lot more. And buy a sense of humor from the place Dan didn't go to. (Tee hee.)

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 25 October 2002 04:59 (twenty-three years ago)

OK, so HOW did he confuse me w/ Ramosi again?

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 25 October 2002 05:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I keep confusing the phenomenal new Sarah McLusky with phenomenal "old" Samantha Glowgurl/deadgirl...

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 25 October 2002 18:41 (twenty-three years ago)

for some stupid reason I got donut bitch confuzzled with josh the other day.

i used to get tracer and sterling mixed up too..

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 25 October 2002 19:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I also used to mix up Tracer Clover and Sterling Hand.

I still confuse the Boy in Cordouroy (Mark C) with the Boy of Badgers (RickyT). If someone with an email address conflating badgers and cordouroy trousers were to post, I think I'd lose it completely.

ch. (synkro), Saturday, 26 October 2002 00:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Let's see!

New person (Anna), Saturday, 26 October 2002 11:01 (twenty-three years ago)

*eyes roll to back of head, wets self*

ch. (synkro), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 02:39 (twenty-three years ago)

what's that smell? ;-)

ron (ron), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 03:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there more than one Ethan?

Keith McD (Keith McD), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 03:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to confuse:

doorag and dubplatestyle
gareth and grrrraham
chaki and chupa
DG and DV
Emma and Anna

but I think I have ebryone sorted out now

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 05:09 (twenty-three years ago)

i still have to make an effort not to confuse
suzy and starry,
martin skidmore and michael daddino

on this note, the pictures of yourself threads help a lot not to confuse too many people.

joan vich (joan vich), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 19:11 (twenty-three years ago)

You get Suzy confused with Starry?

"Bo! I'm on the Northern Line too!! I haf always had a GREBT roXoR time at the Bull & Gate with the Edgy Fashion Rag journos, once my friend ILIANA brought hem hem Russell from MOOOOse and Vincent Gallo stopped by (boo chiz for he wuz MEEN to beloved Pongo) and we swapped stories about the BOOZE-SOKED after-party from last night's opening and LARFED non-stop."

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Grebt post, Nabisco!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 20:31 (twenty-three years ago)

That's nothing like Sarah though.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

kate, i don't confuse you.
i've heard of the lollies and i love spacemen 3.
*back to drawing my diagrams*

joan vich (joan vich), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

"Bemused," Nick? People are going to start confusing you with Ned.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 18:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I get RJG confused with Dom Delouise.

Mandee, Wednesday, 30 October 2002 20:42 (twenty-three years ago)

There should be a festival of ILx bands.. it would be pretty darn good I imagine

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 22:30 (twenty-three years ago)

If the ILX CD is a hit, we should arrange a festival!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 22:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I vote we hold it in NZ

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 22:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Michael Daddino & Martin Skidmore  both capitalised two full names + begin with M = car crash in my brain. But not so bad now, since I have identifiers. Michael = merzbox. And Martin = innocuousness + coyness + knowledgeableness + this inveigling feeling that he wants to tell of his orgy but is worried-reluctant that we wouldn’t care/it’d be indulgent, so holds back via hints. ;)

Thanks geeta – I never thought you noticed me never mind countenanced/liked me. There just seem to be people who it is taken as accepted who don’t take notice/reply to you (we all have our favourites, I suppose). People who don’t talk (much) to me (though I’d like them to, poss.): gareth, rainy, Josh, Daddino, Jel to a small extent, err, others.

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 22:53 (twenty-three years ago)

With Mark Hester, N.? How so? He is ex-Sinister, non? Is there a poss. link in that?

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 22:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I am rather distressed to be innocuous! It's the first time I've been so described - I am clearly being too polite here, and should stop deleting my sharper posts before submission. Knowledgeable is good though, if absurd in this location, particularly.

And I am by no means referring to a single orgy! I am not so much worried about being indulgent (though that's in there) as I am about annoying everyone. And given that many have seen me or at least a pic, I am sort of torn between trying to convince people that I really have had a period of unbelievable fantasy sex life, and enjoying the thought that many must believe that I'm making it up. Actually, say it once and get it over with: lots of group sex in many kinds of combinations, including the big standard fantasy thing with two bi women, plus one thing that really was a full scale orgy.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:01 (twenty-three years ago)

with lurkers!! (= not me btw)

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:05 (twenty-three years ago)

That's right, Mark, I seem to remember you actually joining in.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I didn't mean to offend, Martin. I'm sure you know this: it was a jest, a friendly poke in the ribs. I called you innocuous last week too, so yr factually incorrenkt! So ner!

I get confused by mark s and doomie. They're the same right? (Nice [viz. GREAT] to see you back mark; I've been cold w/out you; hope YOU're OK and OTHERs're OK).

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I confuse nabisco with nitsuh and nabbie and nabitsuh and a RHCP song. Easy.

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh good God please tell me you meant to type RHP and not RHCP.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

R!
H!
C!
P!

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude, RHP = WORSE than RHCP. God.

david h (david h), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes Mark: as I sort of mentioned before there was one couple who didn't join in at all. There may have been more, but there was stuff going on in several rooms, and I only know for sure that pair didn't participate because we exchanged a couple of emails afterwards.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 23:35 (twenty-three years ago)

After reading this I started mixing up Ess Kay and Eyeball Kicks even though I've met Ess Kay.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 31 October 2002 00:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I confuse mandee with what/whom-ever I can manage.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 31 October 2002 09:13 (twenty-three years ago)

i confuse Elisabeth with Ess Kay and Eyeball Kicks.

joan vich (joan vich), Thursday, 31 October 2002 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I like that since I've become mega-juvenile, no one confuses me with Ned anymore.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 31 October 2002 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Weird, I'm suddenly possessed by a spirit making me talk about wee.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 31 October 2002 19:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh no! the Wee Spirit! Oh no!!!!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 31 October 2002 19:15 (twenty-three years ago)

If the ILX CD is a hit, we should arrange a festival!

Huh? What is this ILX CD of which you speak? Did I miss something?

kate, Thursday, 31 October 2002 22:20 (twenty-three years ago)

the ILX comp! ILX Comp: Who wants a copy?

songs by ilxers!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 31 October 2002 22:25 (twenty-three years ago)

is it too late to contribute now?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 31 October 2002 23:13 (twenty-three years ago)

OK, now I'm totally offended and going to throw a snit and stand in the corner and mope cause I wasn't asked to contribute.

kate, Thursday, 31 October 2002 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Kate, there were like 80000 threads about it!

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 31 October 2002 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

80000 threads and I never saw a single one. When did these threads take place? While I was offline or something? This is the first I've heard and I'm still totally and completely offended. Sniff!

kate, Thursday, 31 October 2002 23:28 (twenty-three years ago)

no doubt there'll be a volume 2 tho right? (i hope so 'cause i never got round to doing anything for it neither)

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 1 November 2002 00:10 (twenty-three years ago)

jel jel say there'll be a vol. 2??

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 1 November 2002 00:12 (twenty-three years ago)

it won't be as good as vol. 1, obv

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Friday, 1 November 2002 00:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I think there's been at least 3 other Seans, but they seem to briefly turn up and then vanish.

Sean (Sean), Friday, 1 November 2002 00:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Not Sean Carruthers, though, he's LEGENDARY!

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 1 November 2002 00:31 (twenty-three years ago)

There are far Too Many Alexes around here, even if they do feel compelled to give us their respective geographical locations to avoid confusion.

Daniel_Rf, Friday, 1 November 2002 01:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I was a legend in my own lunchtime, perhaps.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 1 November 2002 03:09 (twenty-three years ago)

If we do a Number 2, I'll try and contribute a proper song w/ words & shit. (Emphasis on the shit.)

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 1 November 2002 04:22 (twenty-three years ago)

volume 7 will be the best one (i predict)

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 1 November 2002 04:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I calculate that there were at least 5 100+ responses threads over the last 6 months.

http://ilx.wh3rd.net/searchresults.php?board=1&mode=questions&q=&titlepart=ILX+comp&name=&email=&username=&dateafter=&datebefore=&catid=all

Sorry that you missed it Kate!

Sorry Jim, no more contributions.

Volume 2, maybe, I'll let you know in January.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 1 November 2002 08:13 (twenty-three years ago)

No, volume 2 is no good. I'm officially boycotting it now. If I'm not good enough for it, then IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

kate, Friday, 1 November 2002 09:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I cannot believe you didn't see any of the MANY threads about/that mentioned it. there were lots and the one jel linked to has been getting kicked to the top of 'new answers' for the past week, at least.

2 can be better than 1.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 1 November 2002 10:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Y'all seem to have confused me with someone who gives a damn. (HA!)

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 1 November 2002 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to 2 so I can send in a special exclusive non-shitty track.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Just realized:

Rebecca & Rosemary.

also, emails: tedium2000 & scrape100 (heh)

ch. (synkro), Monday, 4 November 2002 07:16 (twenty-three years ago)

i quite often confuse M Matos and Michael Daddino, but then normally i think "hey, that sounds more Daddino/Matos than Matos/Daddino (delete as applicable)" and check again.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 22:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I confused Michael Daddino with Marcello Carlin out loud, to the confusion of the October FAP crew ("Marcello was supposed to come? Really?"). Wait, no, it was Dom Passantino I confused with Daddino. I can't believe I just wrote that. Help.

For a while, every time I read comments addressed to "Nick" on the Vice thread, I thought everyone was talking to N., and wondered what N. had been saying to get people so riled up. I did this several times, despite resolving each time not to make the mistake.

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 22:44 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
I keep seeing "sundar subramanian" and reading it as "sunburned and snowblind" or whatever Kenan's new name is.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

(Haha, there's talk of the ILX Comp Vol. 2 on this thread from OVER TWO YEARS AGO!)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 16:47 (twenty years ago)

years are short these days...

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

I've been mistaken for Boss Andrew on AIM a couple of times!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)
