Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:36 (twenty-three years ago)

you probably listen to better music because of it, Ned ;-)

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Thank you, now imagine that for about three years or so in middle school from people I hated.

Haha I have no sympathy! My name was misspelt in the local paper once as 'Tytlik'! Those scars have yet to heal.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I think 'Pit-Lick' has a better je ne sais quoi.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:40 (twenty-three years ago)

i feel bad ned! sorry!

chaki (chaki), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Eh, don't worry about it so much, Chaki. It is a fairly obvious thing to come up with! ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I think 'Pit-Lick' has a better je ne sais quoi.

yes but that is how you pronounce it! awful. i hate it.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd have said "Ned Rabbit" which is altogether cuddlier

C J (C J), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Aw. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:50 (twenty-three years ago)

But I already use a name people called me in middle school! (Note: I would feel right at home if anyone called me Nissan, Mitsubishi, Shit-suh, Hub Abebe, or N*ts*h A-bubblebutt.)

hello jerry 'juvenile' nipper.

(OK I'm pretty sure its you).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I didn't get too much while growing up, but Crud-ears is probably as close as it gets. Maybe someone else here can come up with something worse for me.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:31 (twenty-three years ago)

The nickname I got in junior that stuck around for a few years was "Spazz". This was after I went on a rampage and tried to take out every bully in school (and almost succeeded). (That is a gross paraphrase of what actually happened.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:40 (twenty-three years ago)

HA HA HA Crud-ears is grebt. bet the ppl who called you that were listening to journey (oh wait!).

damn i have been trying to but i can't.

''This was after I went on a rampage and tried to take out every bully in school (and almost succeeded).''

dan went on a RAMPAGE!!!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Some people don't understand. But their 'misreadings' is great.

david h (david h), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:43 (twenty-three years ago)

oh did I? god after a while you just do misread terribly.

(I didn't misread again did I?).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Suzy is super-good at this.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 8 November 2002 21:54 (twenty-three years ago)

if i did this wrong then it's because i don't have time to read and understand rules

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Friday, 8 November 2002 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

thom west (thom w), Friday, 8 November 2002 22:28 (twenty-three years ago)

David Rip Ho's Up.

Wish I could take credit for that one, but, alas, no.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 8 November 2002 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Things seem to have calmed down with my friends' situation or there's nothing for it until morning.

Suzy is super-good at this.

Suffice to say I have fearsome shade-throwing skills which as am not 13 any more, I know are mean to use and guilt out when I do (unless...) Mantra of junior high years: "I refuse to fight battle of wits with unarmed opponents." You try showing up for first day of school with chemo wig and half-digested dictionary; the only bonus was high level of Jewish kids largely prevented nicknames like 'Belsen' (and anyway, not much scans properly on my surname). Also WARS with little sister sharpened skills, we ganged up on dad's enormous redhead Wife Two, J*net, and rechristened her Planet due to size. Mom's boyf Bill is Becubed - Boring Boyfriend Bill.

So, with zero malice, honestly: Swinefox, Mo-mess, Zitsuh, Anna Fieldingleberry, David Rip-hosebag, Mike Daddinosaurus, Whory, Felicitybelchwell, Julio Deloser, Ambrosia, Sick Bastoord.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 8 November 2002 23:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Keep arse covered while shooting off mouth, or vice-versa. Duh.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 8 November 2002 23:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Fistuh. Or, altly: Fistyou.

david h (david h), Friday, 8 November 2002 23:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Or altly: RHCP Song.

david h (david h), Friday, 8 November 2002 23:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Nothing scans properly onto your surname, Suzy Streetwalker? Have you not noticed the first syllable?

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 8 November 2002 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, I thought about that but it's a klutzy scan not worth hoisting own petard for. 'Calgonite' was the best anyone could do and that's still pretty lame.

Nick did once call me Kwik-fit as it is muffler repair place and Muttleyish laugh suggested it readily.

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 9 November 2002 00:06 (twenty-three years ago)

For lack of any better ideas, I hereby declare myself Nate Patronizing. Which fits, I guess.

Also: Michaelangelo Meatass.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 9 November 2002 00:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I was given the surname Carrot-Risotto, which i loved. Get me, double barrelled!

Mark C (Mark C), Saturday, 9 November 2002 01:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Toad The Suckassdolt-ski

But how much of a nickname is it when you give it to yerself (otherwise known as the Andrew Dice Clay Doctrine)?

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 9 November 2002 03:04 (twenty-three years ago)

My last name rhymes with "cow shit". Lucky moi.

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 9 November 2002 03:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I think marcello called me kim dimbitch once. Probably can't out juvenile that.

Sean Carruthers = Sean Yer'Muthers!

(sorry - that's awful)

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 9 November 2002 13:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't give him any ideas. He'll want to time travel back to the Roman Empire and introduce himself to people just to see their reaction.

two people I met last night think I am the sanest person in London

a) if this was at the FAP, bear in mind the quality of competition present.

b) I don't think this, even a bit.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 9 November 2002 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

If there's anything I take from this thread, it's:

(a) FLOOZY WHORE-[rest of Suzy's last name that I'm never sure if she liked to expose here or not]

(b) No one who hasn't met me can make fun of my name properly because they don't know how it's meant to be pronounced.

nabisco (nabisco), Sunday, 10 November 2002 00:34 (twenty-three years ago)

It's a, uh, baby!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 10 November 2002 00:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Martin, have a gander at a few other threads, there's now context for sane Londoner comment (and I know I'm not).

Nitsuh: My surname is the 800lb elephant everyone sees and nobody talks about. Would hate colleagues to Google basically.

suzy (suzy), Sunday, 10 November 2002 00:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, any colleagues googling for Floozy Whoreagain probably don't like you too much to begin with.

nabisco (nabisco), Sunday, 10 November 2002 09:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd agree. But then my editor was known at school as Evil Nightmare (and isn't) and is thus much more touchy than I am about Googlers Reunited an' such.

Most likely it never came up because of the mental stretch involved - I was a fairly stoical and stick-insect Wednesdayish junior high student, also the d-list mall rats who made my life so irritating tended to spell the word 'hoar' when sending hate mail, Zit Poo Baby.

suzy (suzy), Sunday, 10 November 2002 11:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh, I never heard that one before, Gay Spew. Other popular ones included "Supermaniac" and "Superbrainiac." After the AC/DC song came out I didn't hear the end of "Sundarstruck" choruses for a while.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 10 November 2002 20:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I am nickname-proof hahahaha.

Haha, that sounds oddly familiar, I think a classmate may have used something similar in elementary school.
