I had a series of Botox injections in the early to mid 90s. But not for cosmetic reasons. I've a neurological disorder that causes muscle spasms that do not release (a slight chemical malfunction in the brain). My doctor recommended that I have the injections in my right foot, where the toes were pulled back and upward from muscle spasms in the top of the foot - I could not wear close-toed shoes at the time, and the pain was pretty severe. Anyway, the Botox effectively killed the spasming muscles and so far (keeping fingers crossed) the spasms have not returned to any severe extent.
I get really pissy when I hear/read about people getting the injections for cosmetic reasons - people having "Botox" parties and such *shudder*. It's a dangerous treatment. It's a medical treatment. It shouldn't be considered so frivously (spelling?)
My rant having been typed, I must say that the thought of a bunch of actors being unable to show any facial expressions because of the Botox is really, really funny to contemplate.
