What should I put on my Amazon Wishlist?

You probably aren't going to buy me a birthday present. But you can help me by suggesting stuff I might like which can then sit on my wishlist. Hooray!

(Less selfish thread title - recommend easy-to-find media items that are actually good)

Lomo camera! That's been sitting on mine for years. No one will ever buy it for you, guaranteed. can you link to wish-lists? I imagine (fantasize actually) that some secretly rich ilxor will buy things for all of us...

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Jel thankyou I had been meaning to put the Carpenters on.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

When I just logged into amazon, it recommended that I buy Norah Jones, oh the irony.

Ed (dali), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

The irony being that you'd just bought it?

Tom (Groke), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:42 (twenty-three years ago)

they are selling Norah Jones? Will Man Utd buy her?

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

No the irony being that coldplay is number 2 on the list.

Ed (dali), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Ahem.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, the stuff I *don't* want has been cleared off - it's just the stuff I do that's the problem...

Tom (Groke), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Did you also update the address stuff will be sent to?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Monday, 3 March 2003 18:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Blimey good point - yes I have now.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 3 March 2003 19:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 March 2003 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Nathan Webb (Nathan Webb), Monday, 3 March 2003 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I gave-up on a Wish List when mine reached 38 pages and I got frustrated by not being able to search it. So I ended-up creating a spreadsheet table and typing everything into that, instead. And then I added more things. And now, if you're going to print the darn file it runs to 31 pages, landscape, in 10 pt. font.

So, if you ever want to really beef-up your list, Tom, just let me know - I'll be glad to send you, say pages.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 00:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Just give me your money, Tom. I'll spend it on things for me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 01:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh no, Ned. I am so much more deserving of Tom's money. Really. I am certain I want more things than you want. So that means I should get them, until we want the same amount of things, and then maybe you can get a couple.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This is quite understandable.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I am glad that we're in agreement on this, Ned. It's a relief to know that we won't be quibbling.

Tom: Please direct said funds to my mailbox.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:16 (twenty-three years ago)

(waiting for Tom's "But I have no money ho ho" answer)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:17 (twenty-three years ago)

(Thinking that if Ned has been leading me on about the state of Tom's financial situation that Ned should make-up for said poor-taste joke by giving me his money, instead.)

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:21 (twenty-three years ago)

(No poor taste involved! He affords plenty of FAPs and vacations somehow.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:22 (twenty-three years ago)

(Ah, so now Ned is attempting to back-track and now claims that Tom *is* gifted with plenty of funds, or access to funds, at the very least. It would be so much nicer if men weren't so wishy-washy.)

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:24 (twenty-three years ago)

(Laura is mean. *cries*)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:25 (twenty-three years ago)

(Laura is angelic and sweet, but she also know what she wants and deserves. Would you care to cry on her shoulder? It's comfy.)

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 04:10 (twenty-three years ago)

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

five years pass...

need to add stuff to my wishlist so my parents keep bugging me about it but:
* don't need music, download it for free
* don't need books, get from library for free
* like video games but it's embarrassing to ask for them and they're all too violent to play with a baby around
* need clothes but need to try stuff on and can't leave this up to my parents judgment
* can't ask for anything too expensive

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 15 November 2010 23:21 (fifteen years ago)

ask for $

mookieproof, Monday, 15 November 2010 23:24 (fifteen years ago)

ask for shit for the baby. in my family, once you've produced offspring, you don't get presents anymore but your kids do.

kate78, Monday, 15 November 2010 23:54 (fifteen years ago)

baby's getting her own presents, believe me

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 00:05 (fifteen years ago)

plead that the baby's presents do not involve sound

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 November 2010 00:06 (fifteen years ago)

gift cert. to a nice restaurant?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 November 2010 00:06 (fifteen years ago)

maybe nice linens/houswares if you trust their taste

buzza, Tuesday, 16 November 2010 00:10 (fifteen years ago)

I put everything on my wishlist - right now, it's got a Holton Farkas model double french horn, rain barrels, bamboo chopsticks, a package of Zip-It drain cleaning tools, 5 oz canning jars, yarn, some origami books, and a ceramic flat iron, as well as 4 pages of other totally random stuff. One year, someone sent me 3 lbs of spanish cheeses from my wishlist, to my amazement.

Jaq, Tuesday, 16 November 2010 00:57 (fifteen years ago)

instrument equipment? I've got picks, straps, cables, stands, mini-amp on mine. You dont own any books?!

cant believe you sb'd me for that (darraghmac), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 01:14 (fifteen years ago)

last few christmases have been marked by just asking everyone to buy me stuff for cooking, there's always some cool gadget or book i'd never buy but subsequently get a lot of use out of.

I see what this is (Local Garda), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 09:53 (fifteen years ago)
