Discounting allergies and vegetarianism/veganism, obviously? Cause if I ate Gifelte Fish, I'd probably turn seven different colours of hives and then die.

Caitlin are you drunk? That looks vile.

Now I want latkes tho.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Cinna Toast Crunch is gross when you get to the bottom of the box and their is WAY too much 'seasoning' on them...drinking the milk at the end is ill-advised too.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Black pudding is lovely. Not vile at all.

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

It may very well be delicious but it looks like vivisected cow's innards.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

People really can't believe that someone would eat a plain bagel????

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's that people can't believe someone else might not LIKE a plain bagel.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

i like black pudding but i draw the line at tripe

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Except when it's free.

Mmm... free tripe.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

latkes and applesauce!! Yum!

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 3 April 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Augh. There's a place in Toronto that does an incredible latkes and blintzes and fruit platter. SO good for brunch.

(It's lasagna, in case you couldn't tell)

oops (Oops), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow. I really really want latkes now. Where the hell can I get latkes for lunch? Sigh.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I love lasagna too! I like to scoop it with bagels! and that slutsky salad looks good.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

"Waiter! There's cement in my lasagne."

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Spencer, you ever had pizza bagels? I usu have 'em once/week.
Get yourself some Thomas NYstyle bagels, spread olive oil, sauce, cheese, and perhaps some garlic and cilantro, throw in toaster oven...Mmmmmmm

mark:"that's how they do it in Italy, sir"

oops (Oops), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I've made every possible variation of pizza. I used to make biscuit pizzas in college. mmmmm.

http://www.gatewaydiner.com/images/mainmenu/steak.jpg

I've been eating meat once a week or less for the past half-year or so. Mostly due to the weather as I only like it grilled. I had my first steak of the year last night and it was incredible. I feel like a new man.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Thursday, 3 April 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

That's because you've become its host. Phase two: the meat sweats.

Sarah McLusk (coco), Thursday, 3 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

What an unappetising, even sinister selection of pictures. The only thing that looks good is the steak and I don't even eat meat. Oh, and the bananas.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 3 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Well it all looks really shiny but come now, latkes and bagels and olives and pickles, wow. I don't get to eat lunch for an hour and I still haven't figured out where I can get me some latkes and I'm so. very. hungry.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 3 April 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

C'mon, those girls eating the pizza don't look tasty?

I've made every possible variation of pizza

Does that include the Scottish staple, deep-fried pizza?

Does that include the Scottish staple, deep-fried pizza?

in my less healthy past, had I thought of it, I'd have dipped it in Ranch.

This stuff, spread thinly on buttered very very fresh white bread, is delicious. I lived on it as a kid. Anchovy paste! You know you want some.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:10 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/veggies/images/potato.jpg

These things, boiled and then mashed with butter, milk, salt and pepper are tasty enough to be enjoyed, and bland enough to be tolerated by even the fussiest epicure.

I might give one dollar to anyone who could convince me they had a true hatred of potatoes.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Trayce, do you like

http://www.simonbeer.co.uk/simonbeer/images/marmite-yellow-174.jpg

this stuff?

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

gross

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

In New Zeland, marmite looks like this:

http://www.homesick-kiwi.com/food.assets/photos/marmite.jpg

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Mr D: I prefer Vegemite... Marmite is ok, but it tastes more beefy or something?

You cant beat Vegemite on really buttery toast when you have a hangover :D

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Godspeed You Betty Crocker!

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

reminds me of some terrible story my father told me about how Vegemite used to be called Dadwill. ask me and i won't tell it to you

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never been able to find Vegemite here in the States - for the matter Marmite can be a bit tricky to track down - but I'd like to try it. I love Marmite but I only have it like once a week and have to be in the proper mood.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:22 (twenty-two years ago)

what is the proper mood for marmite enjoyment?

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ummm... not having had it in like a week or more. :-)

Familiarity breeds contempt, or some such.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Also when you want something SALTY.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah and you have to do it properly, as well. People new to Vegemite often think you eat it like peanut butter (spread really thickly) - no wonder they hate it. Its a CONCENTRATE, you have to spread it really thinly on well-buttered bread or toast :) Maybe with some cheese too.

Anyone who eats Vegemite like it's peanut butter should be forced to consume a whole jar. With a spoon.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Jim - is your Dadwill joke one of those "so lame only a Dad can come up with it" kind of jokes?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, Trayce believe me I learned that the hard way.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:31 (twenty-two years ago)

yes

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:32 (twenty-two years ago)

marmite mood = loneliness?

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Mr D: Oh now theres something I'd like to see the pix of :D

Jim: haha. Theres a guy at work who tells those kind of jokes. A lot. Someone's gonna punch him one day.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I love Dad Jokes.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:33 (twenty-two years ago)

there should be a whole thread where people can tell their Dad's best Dad Jokes.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 4 April 2003 03:35 (twenty-two years ago)

If I could remember any Dad (or Grandad) jokes, I'd start that thread right now!

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 4 April 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)
