affairs, C/D?

Are these in any way defensible?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 3 April 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd go with a zone, rather than a man-to-man

oops (Oops), Thursday, 3 April 2003 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

In sixth grade, I did a project on medieval dances and I called it "A Royal Affair."

Well, it wasn't too classic when my dad had one.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

OOH - which Royal?? Spill!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

um. i once cheated on my (ex)boyfriend. it WAS a dishonest thing to do and i regret it from that angle. but quite frankly, my boyfriend should have been nicer to me, then it wouldn't have happened.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

totally classic and hilarious when you're the "other woman"

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

justifications are fun!

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 3 April 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

well i wouldn't do it again. but i wouldn't get into a dead end relationship with someone who treated me like furniture again, either. even if the sex is more fun than anything you've had in the last two years, affairs are dud.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 3 April 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

no relationship seems dead end when you get into it though.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Some do. Some, you know from the start that it is a dead end. Yeah, I'm stupid enough to have done a couple of those.

But I don't believe in affairs. Total dud. If you want to be with a person, be with them. If you want to be with someone else more than that person, then break it off and go be with that person. It seems quite clear cut to me, but then I've never been in a seriously long term relationship and been tempted.

kate, Friday, 4 April 2003 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

this, is, of course, purely an academic question.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

You're planning to do it with a Professor?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

no, The Professor, from G.I.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Um total fucking dud. Especially when it destroys your whole family.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

classic if its w/ me!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 4 April 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

eleven months pass...
None of these answers are written from the point of view of the person not married having the affair with the married one. How dud (or classic) is that?

dleone (dleone), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 01:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I steer clear of married or with-kids guys. Doesnt matter how much I like them or if Im single. They dont-get-to-have-me.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 01:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Dud. On the one hand, you'll end up assuming anyone who cheats with you will cheat on you, and you'd usually be right. On the other, if some kind of relationship develops out of it, you have too many handy excuses to dodge your responsibilities in it or shift blame or deflect arguments; and if there isn't a relationship and both people think they're in it just for sex, at least one of them is probably wrong.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh dud. I've been the "other guy" once two many times - I've now learned my lesson. *picks up wooden leg*

Johnney B (Johnney B), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
say you'd been with your girlfriend a good few years and things were fine and dandy and the sex was satisfactory and you were in your late 20s and noticed that a pneumatically-built 17 year old blonde grammar school girl who lived down the road from you who you've watched blossom into a young women of amazonian proportions started waving and smiling at you, you'd feel adulterous too, right? right? talk me into out of it, please.

Oh no!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:34 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry man, I say nail her.

Come Back Johnny B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think bombs are the appropriate solution in this instance.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

Does she have a bow and arrows?

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:45 (nineteen years ago)

how old is she? 17? it's not 100% clear. photos?

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:48 (nineteen years ago)

johnny B otm man: nail bum her now. you miss your boat and it'll be gone.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:53 (nineteen years ago)

SO WRONG.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:54 (nineteen years ago)

henry dont encourage me to take pictures. kenneth dont encourage me to fuck her.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:55 (nineteen years ago)

omg, logged out knows my real name!!

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

Don’t they all end in tears?

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

introduce her to me then perhaps? i'll sacrifice myself for your relationship.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

yes and you know mine were i to reveal my secret identity.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:57 (nineteen years ago)

yes, they all end in tears. therefore SO WRONG.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:58 (nineteen years ago)

last night she waved and smiled at me, i was in the car and she was crossing the road. i get the idea she may have had a drink. we've never made eye contact before. did i mention she has enormous breasts, is about 5'10" and blonde and about 17?

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 12:58 (nineteen years ago)

Oh no, what a conundrum. My heart and head say DO NOT DO IT. My loin says "rowr".

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:00 (nineteen years ago)

it's not really adulterous if she's only 17.

oh shit, it's you nick!

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:00 (nineteen years ago)

OH MY GOD IT'S DOGLATIN'S SISTER ISN'T IT?!??!?!?!?!?!??!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

rofl!

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:03 (nineteen years ago)

if you do it, you're a twat.
best i can do.
"that girl smiled at me, wow, i best have sex with her and risk hurting one, two, maybe even three people to repay her kindness" is a bit of a wacko thought process, tbh.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:04 (nineteen years ago)

Not me! I wish it was though.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:04 (nineteen years ago)

greg you've not seen this girl in a bikini top and football shorts having fun at the seashore. oh my.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

you 'just happened' to be at the seashore?

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:07 (nineteen years ago)

it was totally innocent.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:09 (nineteen years ago)

She's not called Stacey by any chance?

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:11 (nineteen years ago)

heaven only knows what she's called but she's got cheebas like watermelons and could crack heads open on her thighs.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:12 (nineteen years ago)

she probably thinks you're a creep

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:13 (nineteen years ago)

no, ronan-- she smiled at him ===>>> GREEN LIGHT.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:14 (nineteen years ago)

I'm trying to think of a reason not to roger her senseless. Apart from the obvious "It's bad form", a fact which I think we all know and are safely ignoring.

Come Back Johnny B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

one can only hope, ronan. this is all fantasy, by the way, guys. i like how it's only men in their early to mid 20s replying.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

he knows MY real name too.
anyway, bikini & shorts, whatever. totally besides the point, but i don't dig bikini girls anyway. but even if i did, i wouldn't. it's like drugs, man. just say NO.
my pal s73v13 C summed this up really well. he's a daddy and all living with his partner and shit. his words of wisdom shocked me. he said "if ever you're tempted to have an affair, all you have to do is go find a place to have a wank. bash one out, then look in the mirror and be all smug and go "it wouldn't have been worth it just for that."

wise chap. wanking cures all.

and OMG he knows my age too.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:16 (nineteen years ago)

you do all appreciate that I am totally NOT about to try and fuck a 17 year old, don't you? this thread is for entertainment purposes only!

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:35 (nineteen years ago)

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/day54/d54_0108_craig_relief_1.jpg

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:35 (nineteen years ago)

i think you should at least try.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:36 (nineteen years ago)

and like, if you C on Ts rather than go for the full monty, don't be all like "oh, g-kit said it'd be ok" when your gf is trying to smash your balls, yo.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:37 (nineteen years ago)

craig looks like celebrity yaughtswoman ellen mcarthur there.

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:39 (nineteen years ago)

we all know that Logged Out doesn't post purely for entertainment purposes, yo.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:41 (nineteen years ago)

i'm not Logged Out! i'm Oh No!

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:42 (nineteen years ago)

merely a pseudonym, i'm sure. i wish i was smart and could guess who you are. there surely aren't more than like 3 people that know my name, but i'm fucked if i know who any of them are.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:44 (nineteen years ago)

Er, we all do.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:46 (nineteen years ago)

i figured i kinda blended into the the wallpaper around here, like an innofensive but rather annoying and nameless wee boy. or something.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:47 (nineteen years ago)

oh it's a pseudonym alright, course it is. and yeah, greg, everyone knows you're fucking name!

Oh No!, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

i'm kind of disappointed, to be honest.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:49 (nineteen years ago)

That everyone knows your name?

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:50 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i kinda got off on thinking that i was kind of a semi-lurking occasional 'oh, i think i remember him' type of poster rather than a regular.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:52 (nineteen years ago)

kinda like a secret lemonade drinker, but with more internet.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

Balls. You're just as bad as everyone else! Except me. I've barely been here this year.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

and yet you cropped up on THIS thread...

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:54 (nineteen years ago)

That everyone knows your name?

ihttp://www.timemachinetoys.com/toypics/cheers.JPG

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

well, my brain works differently. i could maybe name about 10 ILX regulars by login name, let alone real name.

i always crop up on affair threads to say 'NO NO NO YOU MORON, NO'. it's my duty.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, every post I've made this year has been entirely for Henry's benefit...

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

While searching for the obvious joke picture up there I also found this

http://kevinremde.members.winisp.net/images/Supersquirrel.jpg

Which has nothing to do with anything, except isn't it awesome?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:56 (nineteen years ago)

but usually i don't hijack them and turn them into the 'g-kit self-indulgent neo-kitten revelation rambling' thread.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:56 (nineteen years ago)

well, you know it's appreciated nick...

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:57 (nineteen years ago)

Good grief that's an outstanding SuperSquirrel.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:58 (nineteen years ago)

I also know that you prefer Sailor Moon, Greg. ;-)

Masonic Boom (kate), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:58 (nineteen years ago)

my work here is done.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

i can't believe oh no knows that my real name is kenneth

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

I know all four of ken's names. So there.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:08 (nineteen years ago)

How many of my five do you know?

Masonic Boom (kate), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry - SIX! (only four of them are real, two of them are made up.)

Masonic Boom (kate), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

i thought you only became a recognised regular on ILX when you had a big row with another regular. or pissed your pants and took a photo of it. or got sonned by Calum. i didn't realise the criterea was simply posting stuff. another big disappointment.

and ha, greg isn't my real name anyway. so bite me. all of you. at once.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:10 (nineteen years ago)

my ever expanding knowledge of all things ever knows that one of your names may very well possibly be kate. i want treats for my display of knowledge. can i guess that the made up ones are Sailor and Moon?

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:13 (nineteen years ago)

wait there must be some mysterious regular here whom i've missed getting sonned by calum.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:13 (nineteen years ago)

well, they were either/or thingies. surely not every regular has received a thorough c-man sonning?

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

i think i've posted more today than i have in like, 3 weeks. i need a rest.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

haha well the trouble is i don't rememeber there being one!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:16 (nineteen years ago)

see, i dun know nuthin.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:16 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think i've ever been sonned by calum.

N_RQ, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

Isn't Sonning a place in Berkshire?

I only know two of Kate's names - the one she appears on stage under, and the one on her email "From:" line.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

That's not my name. The Baronness of Chester nicked it from me.

I've still got two more she doesn't have, though.

Masonic Boom (kate), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:20 (nineteen years ago)

no thread has ever made my brain hurt this much in my entire ILX history. it covers every topic ever. except real affairs. i really like it.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:24 (nineteen years ago)

it is it is wicked.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

Since every shade and nuance of opinion has been expressed here already, both seriouly and facetiously, there is nothing more I can add to the discussion. This frees me to say whatever the hell I feel like, without compunction... So, allow me address the 20-something gentleman with the Amazonian schoolgirl neightbor for a moment.

You feel adulterous, you say? Well then, what do you think emotions are for, if not to command your life and urge you to follow up every fleeting desire with an immediate, mindless reaction? Get with the program!

Consider the matter evolutionarily, if you will. Emotions undoubtedly arise from a part of the brain that evolved long before that troublesome forebrain of yours. Therefore, they are due the respect and deference given to seniority. Emotions impart motivation. Thinking cannot do that one tenth as effectively as your simple blind urges. An urge is urgent and compelling. A thought on its own is practically inert.

So, my advice is to live a life driven solely and freely by urges and appetites. Use your rationality for what its good at: post hoc rationalizations and elaborate excuses. You'll be a happier man for it. Trust me - [smiles warmly and broadly] - you'll never regret this decision.

Aimless (Aimless), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:29 (nineteen years ago)

It is not great yet.
