I knew a girl in college who went to junior high with JVDB. Apparently, he was a huge dork, and was known as "James Van Der Geek." Gotta love that twelve-year-old wit.

On a related note, I loved the first season of Dawson's Creek. Part of my senior thesis in college was about how the show was instrumental in renewing my friendship with my first high school girlfriend.

They have been playing 4 episodes a day on the US station TBS in anticipation of the series finale. It's crazy and too much overload.

PAL is the European TV standard, dear Mary. So think of it this way, for instance:

I disagree with this. If you have a decent monitor and speakers you can actually see and hear movies at a higher resolution than on your average TV. I do it all the time as I actually prefer it to my housemate's 51" Sony projection HD-ready monstrosity.

MSCL really grew on me, but it's like twice the price of the Buffy sets. Then again, unlike Buffy, MSCL isn't on twelve times a week in syndication. Maybe I will start dropping birthday hints to the appropriate people.

yes i am excited to see the old ones with DA Stone. righteou anger on behlaf of Justice with the capitol J! also, if anyone has a sealed copy of the Criterion edition of hard Boiled I would be willing to take it off yr hands ;-)

two weeks pass...

I saw Brian Krackow at Metropolitan clothing store yesterday. I rounded a corner and was like wait! I know you . . . he looks just the same the hair may be even more pronounced but he has really started dressing better. He was wearing a pink oxford with white stripes jeans and carrying a coolio bag and I imagine nice shoes I tried not to stare.

In other notes, we have solved the mystery of the vagrant Buffy disc 1.
