MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 4 April 2003 06:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Wahey! Nice one, Mark. What channel is it on?

Haha imagine the presenter in their underwear. Hang on, who is it? If it's a wrinkly old bloke à la Fifteen to One, don't do that, you might lose yr lunch.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 4 April 2003 06:30 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently response time is a bigger factor than knowledge/skill so exercise them reflexes

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 4 April 2003 06:30 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll slay 'em Mark - it's piss easy that show (no pressure or anything...)
I may phone in for the "open to the public" bit, then we could both be on TV at once!
I wish I had a video what records stuff now....

smee (smee), Friday, 4 April 2003 06:52 (twenty-two years ago)

the presenters are young and wrinkle-free, so I think my lunch is safe!

It's on Channel 5. Here's their site.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 4 April 2003 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I knew I'd read a similar thread....

ILXers, I need your help...A gameshow thread

smee (smee), Friday, 4 April 2003 07:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't get channel 5 on the Sarf Coast I'm afraid but I will cross my fingers quite painfully if need be!

Archel (Archel), Friday, 4 April 2003 08:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael Owen was born in Chester
The only three bands to have had the #1 single and album in both the UK and US at the same time are The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Men at Work
Prior to The Sopranos, Michael Imperioli and Joe Pantoliano were both in Bad Boys together.

That should help.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 April 2003 09:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Good luck, buddy.

Andrew (enneff), Friday, 4 April 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

She's obviously married (see ring). Affairs C/D thread to thread!

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 4 April 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark- I got to the semi-final (as on ILXers, I need your help...A gameshow thread). Craig was the presenter that day. They cover you in make-up and feed you sandwiches all day. It REALLY is much harder than it looks. You think and then start to think about how your thinking and analyzing the manner in which your thought processes work and...you're out of time. I couldn't for the life of me tink to answer "Zadie Smith" or "Tchaikovsky" even though I knew them both. Blocked. But Oxford's nice and you get a bottle of champagne if you lose. You realise there's no audience, right? Makes it much easier. I also got a signed photo of Craig and a Brainteaser puzzle!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 4 April 2003 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

The ring's on her middle finger, though...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 4 April 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark C suggested to me today that I should somehow post a thread on Tuesday called "I'm On a TV Quiz Show! (Now)" but as that would prolly involve WAP I would also have access to google, which would fall under the category "Cheating".

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 5 April 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

and, as Martin Stephenson told us long ago, you can't get a boat to Bolivia.

Obvious follow-up question: Which other South American country can't you get a boat to?

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 5 April 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Paraguai

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Saturday, 5 April 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

but like, technichally, you can get a boat to Paraguai

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Saturday, 5 April 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Granted. But also to Bolivia, e.g. across the Titicaca from Peru...
