Judge Mentalist (Judge Mentalist), Monday, 4 August 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

What?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 4 August 2003 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

This is surely the geek contest to end all geek contests. I'm going to check mine now.

Ann Sterzinger (Ann Sterzinger), Monday, 4 August 2003 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure, but I do know that my blog is third of 120something thousand in searches for the term "hipster".

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Monday, 4 August 2003 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh - searching for my name. Well, I'm still the only one on the web so woo-hoo #1.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 4 August 2003 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

my band is #11 when you search for the name. and searching for "electric sound of jim" turns up a message from doom-e to me that I didn't even know existed. craziness!

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 4 August 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

So what's your Google ranking now?

I think the mentalist means, if you have weblog/ website?

...I currently have a 6 Google pageranking for my blog.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Monday, 4 August 2003 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

s1utsky (slutsky), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm number 4, on a .pdf syllabus for a class I TA-ed last semester. Awesome.

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:10 (twenty-two years ago)

The 10th hit for my name is a paper on the Kinetic Theory of Electron-Plasma and Ion-acoustic waves in nonuniformly heated laser plasmas.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a few Colin Barrows out there let me tell you.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm not even in the top hundred thousand if i search for my real name

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I looked up "Tep," and not only am I nowhere there, but

a) it freaks me out seeing Tep Tep Tep all over the place and it not being me;
b) there's a prisoner whose first name is Tep;
c) someone else is using Tep as their online name thingie. Fuck you, fake Tep!
c1) unless you're the prisoner

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 4 August 2003 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm #1 for both "Christine Indigo" and +ultima +sex +fiction. Cool.

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

too many Miek hanley bastards

Mike Hanle y (mike), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 01:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't worry Mike, you're totally one of a kind.

Kim (Kim), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm number 11 on the results list if you google my name, and that's only because of the Freaky Trigger Focus Group and not because of ILX. I don't think I have posted my full name on ILX much if at all.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

The first 11 results of a search for my full name all directly pertain to me. Hooray!

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i am nowhere on the radar
inless i'm an afrikan/american/female/singer/songwriter. who knows.

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

All I get is a lot of geneology bullshit.

*grumbles*

Nellie (nellskies), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 05:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I love Larcole

Vic (Vic), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Number 1! And several other numbers too, for various things, the blog, Stylus, work's page. I have about five web-based namesakes, one is a footballer, one works for Exeter City Council (never met him and don't know who he is!) and one's a political activist in South Africa.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 07:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Google searching your own name

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 08:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Unsurprisingly, I'm the only Dom Passantino out there, so I'm at a disadvantage. However, Domenic Passantino died in a halls of residence fire sparking major law changes somewhere in America, so fair play to him.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 08:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I am 1-7 and 9-31. There seems to be only one other gal with my name and she occupies number 8. This is exciting, I must find out who she is!

Hanna (Hanna), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I couldn't find anything on me! :-(

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Jan Geerinck (jahsonic), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

My page rank is 6/10, I think. Searching for my name doesn't bring up much me-related, but I'm #1 for famous five slashfic.

If your website's on a decent host, there are much better ways to keep track of your site statistics than sitemeter.

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 5 August 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Jan Geerinck (jahsonic), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

There are 142 entries for my real name - I'm apparently a Canadian librarian, an American attorney, and a brilliant football player. There are also three pictures under google images. None of these is me.

C J (C J), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

like nick i'm the only one out there so #1, sadly, nothing too interesting.

H (Heruy), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm back down to #2 - curse you Tom Ewing Productions. My top entry is a defunct blog, then NYLPM, then the Pazz and Jopp polls (which are kind of because of ILX).

I always wonder what the Hong Kong DJ Tom Ewing and the Bluegrass expert Tom Ewing say about me when they have the "google your name" conversation.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 08:30 (twenty-two years ago)

There's at least one other Chris Barrus out there, but twelve years of spewing on the Internet has pretty much given me a lock on #1.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 6 August 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
#9 for "Blumenkohl", #1 for "Hühnerbär".
