Can we ever be so sure? People hated on 'The Big Lebowski' and 'La Regle du Jeu' and now they're seen as the first and second grebtest films of all time.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

the ones that fail the test of space

mark s (mark s), Monday, 27 October 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, that re-entry can be a bitch...

Kingfish (Kingfish), Monday, 27 October 2003 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Ones with Ethan Hawke in them.

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 27 October 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Huh? 'Before Sunrise' = k-classic date movie (probably)

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Ethan Hawke

How can something like that become a dud when it is already clearly dud by its essence, though?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

He made Before Sunrise unbearable, as with every other film he's been in. Nothing can remove the odor of Eau de Cockfarmer.

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

There are certain films for which even the base idea ofwhich makes one curl ones toes up. If such films suceed they are more classic than anything. If they fail they are the duddest of the dud.

Can we find an Ilx film thatw e can all agree is rubbish (cos I think this might be hard. There are more than enough contrarians round here to elevate Crossroads to the level of HIGH ART).

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Crossroads is great, if only for the guy running out of the theatre crying when Kim Catrall told Britney she didn't want her around.

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Agree on this:

'Lilya 4 Evah'

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

What on Lilya 4 Ever being a Dud? Are you MAD!

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Sane as sane can be.

Ronking film. Stinker.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

But there are no action sequences per se!

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

But obviously not one we all agree on.

Underworld? The Majestic? Lara Croft: Tomb Radier (feel free to add another colon and The Cradle Of Life...)

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I think some people here liked Underworld. The Majestic was utterly terrible though, I'd be surprised if anyone liked it.

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

[insert movie title] 3

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't regret my time spent watching Underworld, I was in the mood for gothistry and there is by definition no such thing as too much (or too languid).

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though...

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Hard to get consensus on weally bad films as most people steer clear. 'The New Guy' is awful.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

"Titanic"
"the Saint" (feat. val kilmer)
"the doors"

more to follow

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, The Saint might well do it.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Oxford residents love it for the climactic sprint down Parks Road, and for making the Radcliffe Camera into a nucular laboratory.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

haha i was alos going to add:

any mel gibsom "historical" movie
(n)directed by roland emmerich

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

"also", "gibson".

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

[insert movie title] 3

oh HUSH. Superman 3 was the apex of the series! Who can forget the touching moments of Richard Pryor mourning the loss of his beloved Wonder Wheel?

"Oh Wonder Wheel! Don't die on me, Wonder Wheel!"

Kingfish (Kingfish), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(Well of course Tom should love it because of the great panoramic shot that sweeps into his room in Oxford. But he doesn't.)

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(Well of course Tom should love it because of the great panoramic shot that sweeps into his room in Oxford. But he doesn't.)

He must live in a nice part o town...

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

He usta.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mater of the Ewingverse also All Soauls don... wheels within wheels...

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I really liked both "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

See what I mean. This is going to be impossible.

I was going to say The Avengers, but I know there are people on this bitch who like that.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

DV considers it the only good film Sean Connery has ever been in. Though he hasn't seen League yet.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha I liked "The Saint", too!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

"There are more than enough contrarians round here to elevate Crossroads to the level of HIGH ART"

Britney vs Ally Sheedy fite!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Worst Movies Ever!
The Avengers! -- Classically Proper or Fiendishly Diabolical? proving many mental ppl do like it.

Alan (Alan), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)
